A few weeks ago Ive asked on the forum about DLC coating, colour of DLC, etc. Many people answered my questions (see:http://www.network54.com/Forum/638808/message/1325965748/DLC+questions
After filtering many forums and sites Ive found a watch, not PAM, but special in some way, watch had a great combination of DLC colour (dark grey) and green crystal. For me that was something interesting.
Because I was suspicious about DLC coating, Ive asked the seller may times if it is DLC (maybe PVD?), if DLC is done properly.
The seller assured me the watch is new/unworn, and is DLC treated for sure.
He even send me mail from Italian company who DLC that watch: "Please finde attached the documentation of our DLC ta-C which ist the hardest and best possible DLC who has up to 80% diamant content."
So I've been assured I'm paying for what I want.
I had paid, the watch arrived. I must to say color was perfect, green bezel looked amazing but .
First of all watch was not new (but I thought can live with that). It had visible dings under DLC coating. The bracelet was rubed in few places!
After 30 minutes of wearing the watch, putting it on and of my hand, putting opposite to the crown position on the table back and forth, I've turned out that the watch is scratched! I don't know how it may happened. Maybe because of my steel cufflinks, because of the table, keys laying next to the watch I dont know.
All confirmed my belief the was was just PVD and it was not well done PVD.
I've send back the watch axplaing to the seller what I found out. He replied he can not accept my watch because it is scratched!
If the watch was DLC treated it is not possible to scratch it in normal use. If is was DLC it is not possible to rub the coating!
Now I don't have money and dont have a watch the seller needs to think what he can do about it.
Anyone buying PVD/DLC watches: If you are planning on buying durable watch, You need to be sure you are buying DLC PVD Coated watch, not just PVD.
Of course PVD is also great coating and can be durable, looks amazing (e.g. on PAM) but it was not what I wanted.
Love your beautiful steel PAM showing every sign of the times on the case, my Wife said to me. And She is right.
