Black and white is maybe for Panerai one kind of harmony.

2005 was, for some, the best year ever for the panerai Special Editions : New P.2002, the three blue dialed Firenze editions ( Pam 224, 228 and 229 ), Pam 217 and 203 !
The Pam 202 and 225 were too, two releases of this year.

2005 was the year of a new collaboration between Sylvester Stallone and Panerai with the launch of two new models Luminor Submersible Chrono 1000M - Slytech. Part of the wholesale price of each watch sold was paid as a royalty to the actor and then donated to a charity of his choice.
On the back of these watches is Stallone's signature, and on the dial the words Slytech Panerai.

Pam 202 is the black.





White writing on black.




Pam 225 is the white.
Its dial is not all the time so white and can look ivory, the three counters may seem clearer.

The both have two dots just above the 12, like the bite of a snake...


On both hands are silver...


But under some light and with the reflection they can look golden or champagne on the Pam 225.


The hours markers are rounded battons on the 202 .

The Pam 202's dial is less contrasted.

On the Pam 225 dots, counters and the 12 are circled.




The dials are procected by a sapphire thick of 5 millimeters.

Views of the bezels :




The small markers are inspired by the Pam 24/25.


The pearl is circled by a ring.


The fifteen minute, small markers are filled by black.


The grooves are soft.

Levers of the crown arre down to up, totaly in the 127/217's style.

The push buttons have to be unscrewed to make the chronograpf function usable .

The movements :

Movement: automatic mechanical, Panerai OP XII calibre, 13¼ lignes, 27 jewels. Glucydur® balance making 28,800 alternations/hour. Incabloc® anti-shock device. Power reserve 46 hours. Bridges and oscillating weight with Côtes de Genève decoration. Oscillating weight personalised PANERAI. Chronometer Certificate (C.O.S.C.).

Functions: hours, minutes, small seconds, calculation of immersion time, chronograph with three counters.


Some personal comments:

The Pam 225 is may be more homogeneous due to the circled dots of its dial with the bezel's applied markers dots and the pearl.

Why the 225 looks familiar ?, its design comes obviouslsy from the 24.

Both very elegant, the Pam 202 is certainly better as a single watch or at less chronograph. We see immediately that it is a Panerai. It has the DNA.
