Sure some folks discovered it's too big after buying it. But whose first contact with 47mm was the 372? The concept of 47MM being big could not have been a huge surprise to Ristis who bought this watch.
I think the explanation for a larger number of sales is erroneous speculation that this would be a limited run and that it would command premium prices. As supply continued to flow, the prices stabilized. And with the realization that there were more than enough to go around, the prices fell. Particularly given the debut of the "O" series, the recent flood of supply on the CM reflects the realization that there will always be enough new watches at retail to satisfy the market. Therefore, there is no reason to hold the watch unless you want to wear it.
Some made a simple miscalculation and sold. But those few likely do not justify the recent number of watches hitting the CM, in my opinion.
For me, I love the 372 because I can wear it without worrying about selling it. It is not going to be a 21 or 203 because it's a regular production number. My SEs get more rest. And let's not forget, it's just friggin beautiful. The color of the fauxtina, the dial's simplicity, the shape of the case. Oops, got to go... I just soiled myself.
