Hi guys.
Yesterday I got robbed of two of my precious Panerai's and I
just want to warn everyone for this nasty Italian scammer/robber.
Some of you know that I had my pam2b t-dial up for sale recently.
Both on paneristi and on a local buy/sell site here in Switzerland.
Via the local swiss site I got in contact with a potential buyer
in Italy. We spoke on the phone several times, and although
I had no references he seemed alright and I finally agreed to meet up in Milano for the
exchange. He was also interested in my 111 so we decided to make
a "package" deal for both watches.
I will spare you all the details, but basically it went down like this.
We decided to meet at a bar in central Milano early afternoon. I drove there from Geneva with my gf.
Of course I was on my guard since I did not know the guy, but when we
met he seemed alright,. Well dressed in shirt, pants, Armani glasses,
nice watch and jewellery. He is overweight, Well groomed with italian looks with dark hair/features.
He speaks with accent but not too heavy.
We had a quick drink in the bar and he showed me the cash. After we went outside, the area
quite busy with people and shops. We sat in his car to make the exchange.
Me and my gf in the back and he in the front. He quickly checked the watches which was in their
boxes.. after he verified them he was out of the car in a second, with both boxes in his arms
running away to another car with a driver who was waiting for him. we tried to get out
but both back doors were childlocked thus I had to jump out from the front,, but already too late.
they sped of in the other car.. and my watches were gone!
Called the police straight away and they arrived 4 of them..
Gave them all the details, and then we had to spend the evening at Milano police station
to file the report.
Luckily both me and my gf are safe and we did not get harmed, apart from the shock
and the disgust of being scammed in such a way. I am gutted!
Please be warned for similar scams,, and also please be on your guard in case you see any of my watches on the market. Especially the 2b tritium which is unique and not too many comes up for sale.
The watches were:
PAM111h - H1787/2000
PAM002b - B1281/1500
Both with box and papers.
Thanks for your time,
Tomas
