Big +1 on Rolex. I think you lose the least amount of money down the line.

As Rolex is my favorite brand with Panerai a close second, I'm biased. As mentioned though, when buying pre-owned or grey market, Oris, Steinhart, Stowa, Laco and Sinn, all great choices, nice watches albeit at a lower price point. Nothing like a nice Rolex Sub or Panerai Base, those models never get old to me.
