Bad timing for an OT question...

I'm sure someone will be along shortly with an answer
once the pre-SIHH excitement has worn off a little...

I have no comment btw, never heard of most of those

Meistersinger 1Z, 38mm in tan. Nice watch for sub $1k. Not exceptionally high quality finishing, but would hold its own against others in the price class. What you are really paying for is the concept and the very clean execution - too many of the 1-handed copycats have cluttered dials. Very basic movement (mine has the 2801) with minor brushing. I went with the 38 mm because the larger size at the time used the same 2801 and had the largest movement spacer and looked hideous from the back. The crystal is cut to actually magnify the dial as you look at it. Fun watch - get worn 1-2 times a month. PLus, it an independant.

Sothis Stardust Chrono in Blue. This is the watch that started it for me and I still absolutely love it 7 years later. Dial work, concept and execution are all top notch. It is a good mid-tier watch and definitely holds its own against others and some higher priced watches. Movement is pedestrian (7750) but is easy service and very nicely finished with perlage, stripes, blued screws and a gold rotor with constellation engraving. Many small touches on this watch that tie the design together so well. Great case that is unique to the brand. I would say this is highly underrated brand - mostly for the small distribution and unique designs. The company is great and responsive to emails. Independant is a bonus too.

Can you tell which one I like better? (pics taken from original seller many years ago)
