Essential reading

What struck me about this book was the level of ingenuity and improvisation the Italians employed. Also couldn't believe the Prince thought Mussolini's brand of fascism too soft !! he was one unique character, I believe he has a son living here in Australia.

Thanks for planting the seed. Also, have you or anybody heard of the book by Paul Kemp called "Underwater Warrior"? Just curious if this book is worth the read too. Mark.

I saw this book in Hammer's 'shrine' post not so long ago, so I've got that on order, along with Frogmen First Battles (William Schofield) & Sea Devils: Italian Navy... (J. Valerio Borghese).

I'll be a busy boy reading when they all arrive!

I first felt a bit odd following axis forces stories

Not that it really matters because the Italians were not so evil. The stories of their inventive qualities are great.
