My Desert Island Dream

Well here it goes my Desert Island Dream.

Let me apologize for going beyond the designated number for some of the items. Im a passionate man can get lost in indecision when it comes to narrowing down my greatest passions, no not watches but food and music. I would have never finished this if I had to narrow it down anymore.

So anyway, it has been rough going form paradise to the drab gray days of winter in Boise.

So I hitched a ride on the cheapest flight I could find to somewhere Mexico for some sun and cheap lobster. I had never heard of the small charter company but decided to roll the dice. Got a little nervous, however, when I saw the pilots tossing them back pre-flight.

The drinks kept flowing even after take off and things quickly went from fun, to ugly, to just BAD.

I put my pilots uniform (still in my bag from P-Day) on after the last real aviator passed out but the cloths dont always make the man and the bird went down.

And again . . . things went from bad to worse!

Photobucket

Luckily I had my diving gear and made a quick get away.

With nothing but a pack of peanuts in my pocket I was forced to make do with what I could catch and let me tell ya, this was a far cry from Lobster!

Photobucket

It took me forever to find land, so long in fact that I started to doubt I was South of the Border and was instead back Down Under.

The first place I stumbled into had these on the wall, that confirmed it.

I remembered the women in Australia were beautiful but in this dream / nightmare combo the women looked a little strange. I saw this lady in The Rocks:

And this girl Downtown:

I jumped back in the water and started paddling. Australia just wasnt the same without the company of so many great mates!

The dream continues . . .

February 7 2012, 7:53 AM

Floating on the waives . . . lost at sea . . . I closed my eyes and dreamed again of better things to bring me peace . . . such as:

2 watches

360 Its on my wrist as I type this. It brings me such joy and means so much to me as I am sure it will for years to come.
Photobucket

Vintage Blue Omega Seamaster Chrono 176.007 This was a surprisingly easy choice. Yea I love vintage Rolex especially my 1665 but the reality is every other watch (including my 1665) has and will come and go. This super cool, unique Omega has been with me longer than any luxury watch. If it was a hot item maybe it would have gone as well but it isnt and hasnt and its longevity and style has dug its own place in my heart. Its a friend that is special to me. It is a keeper.

2 songs
Miles Davis -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_1Pa6vE14c
Beethoven, Symphony No. 9 -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljGMhDSSGFU
Janes Addiction - Three Days -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmvG2GZ3S7o
Black Sabbath Electric Funeral -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsLkL8DTHeg

I know I cant count but sorry I just couldnt do it. Yea Miles Davis Kind of Blue is a gift from God as is Beethovens 9th but I couldnt stop there as I kinda like rock as well. Having said that, I am having a hard time leaving out Beatles, Tool, Wilco, Frank Zappa, PJ Harvey, Coltrane . . ..)
Final note, when I dont know what I want to listen to I go to KCRWs Eclectic 24 always interesting fantastic stuff: http://www.kcrw.com/music/eclectic24

1 memory
This is kind of a collective memory. Probably the greatest high I have felt in life has been when I won on the fencing strip. This isnt a pic of me as I really dont have one. That is surprising as this has been a major part of my life for about 24 years. If you want to sweat like a pig and have a good time think about taking it up.

1 meal
As any of you know, I have lived in Los Angeles most of my life. I like Boise as well but I would die for some meals I just cant find here.

In particular:
Korean Tofu Soup
Photobucket

Peruvian Food El Pollo Inka
Photobucket

Japanese Curry House

1 person
My son Miles. He is the greatest kid. Just dont ask to borrow his G-Shock!

Still learning about this wonderful forum and today a mystery was solved, i.e. what is a "DID". Thanks so much for this one. Maybe after getting my first PAM, I will share one, too.
