There's nothing inherently wrong with a black strap on a brown dial ti watch. But it's a wasted opportunity, in my opinion. There are so many cool strap colors that enhance and are enhanced by the tobacco / brown dial. As always, you're the one who should be happy with your strap combo. Certainly, no one will say that you're color blind if you go with the black/ brown combo.

and it just doesn't look right. As others have said, it's not bad and quite subtle, but there are lots of better options out there. Try it out and see if you like it

and she's notoriously hard to please.
I haven't tried a black calf yet. But it feels to me like a shirt and tie thing - if you have a lot going on on your tie then you need a plain shirt and vice versa. The tobacco dial and gold hands of the 352 (in my case) has enough going on that it can work with a plainer strap.
