Changing fortunes made me get rid of my 312 last year. Since then I've been watch-less and I've hated having to pull my iPhone out when I need to know the time. Have been toying with the idea of getting another Panerai since Christmas when I happened to see a nice 170 on eBay for £4k in London but missed out on it by a day (needed to talk myself into it by which time it had gone).

My first Panerai was a 282 and I loved it, probably a little more than the 312 that replaced it a few years later. The only thing wrong with the 282 in my opinion was that it wasn't a 283! I really liked the titanium bracelet.

A couple of weeks ago I found a "J" 279 for sale from a dealer in Greece, bit of a bargain in my opinion, it would have been rude not too, so I did and it arrived yesterday, hasn't been off my wrist since it came out of the box.

So I'm back, a proud Panerai owner once again!

Now the hunt is on for a few straps for when I'm not in a bracelet mood, I've ordered a OEM 22mm screw in titanium tang buckle from my local dealer but also need a good 24mm titanium buckle too. Most of what I've found so far is either steel and/or just downright cheap and nasty. Does anyone have any recommendations?
