....so a few months ago, the Essex Boys did Paris to pick up my 390. This time round we hooked up to take a trip up the Thames on Sig Bonati's ride - Eilean (of Duran Duran Rio Fame) Firstly thanks to my mate Nick aka "Muscles" and David Lindsay for making the day happen. Apologies in advance but only iphone pics to record the events of the day....
Meeting Muscles at South Quay where Eilean was moored
Whoooah, Hold on sailor, you cant come on with those winklepickers. Off with your shoes and on with these rascal "ones and twos". To be fair there were like slippers and they matched my strides perfectly - touch
Quick Health and Safety mumble from the Captain of Eilean, Andrew Cully....(GUSH, I know you are reading this, imitating my voice....)
Just got to get out of the lock and we're on our way....
Apparently, Eilean wasn't in the best shape post the 80's Pop sensations video, but to be fair, they had done a good job bringing her back to life, definately more than just spit and polish....
Think someone had their eyes on this pillow, but their fingers weren't quick or sticky enough...
Tempting, but no one rang it....
For you Patina heads out there.....Bronzo is Gonzo right?!? All original kit.....
The recently married Sylvia from Panerai UK (sorry chaps - shes officially off the market)
David, Sylvia and fellow Guest Imran enjoying the glorious weather....
Captain Muscles driving (is that right, the sails weren't down and we were running on the motor?)
Leaving Canary Wharf and heading up the Thames....
Muscles doing a fine job, going past the Shard....
To be fair he had a long old stint at the wheel and when the bridge at Tower Bridge went up, he took us all safely through....
While we were waiting for the bridge to go up again, we took the chance to go below deck and check out this years kit....(Apologies again but poor lighting below deck and an iphone wasn't the best)
PAM 424. Wasn't feeling the Cali from the initial pics released, but in the metal, I thought it was much nicer, but still not 100% on it....
PAM 396. Tourbi Ceramic. Cool case but again not too sure about it....
PAM 438. Ceramic again, was feeling this one more and the bracelet was pretty cool....
PAM 422. Maybe not for the Base heads out there but thought this was pretty nice....
PAM 423. Not feeling the power reserve Im afraid....
Think these were the 42mm releases but not sure of model numbers, pretty tidy though....
PAM 395. This was my favourite piece. You have to see the dial in the flesh to appreciate the colour....
The arse on it weren't bad either.....
The pieces in nice dealer boxes.....
You all know this kit would look tasty hanging in your house somewhere.....
Anyway, the bridge was about to go up, so it was time for me to be skipper....
Got to take her through Tower Bridge - Olympic year for London.....
Standard issue wrist shot while on the job (oh errrr).....
Flying the flag....
Heading back to Canary Wharf and going past the O2.....
Back in the dock and 3 hours sailed by (see what I did there, not techincally true but you get the gist)
Thanks to Captain Andy and his crew, Sylvia and her colleague (whos name escapes me - apologies) and David for looking after us. It was a great way to spend an afternoon!
But it didnt end there......it was off to Covent Garden for a spot of dinner with Covac, Gush, Jassies, Chris, Jonny and Muscles for a mini GTG.....Sophies steakhouse....go big or go home, veggies look away now.... 24oz Cote de Boeuf all round....
then someone decided to chuck his 203 in my face......flash git.....you know it looks better on my wrist, esp with the buckle right up against the 6!
All in all, cracking day and night out with a Panerai theme.......home just before midnight with my swag from the day, nice little Eilean Cap and HUGE Eilean book....
If you have stuck it out this far, thanks for looking!
That post took some effort, putting it all together exactly as it happened, thanks mate, it was a great day, a proper memory, me performing a u turn next to HMS Belfast on Eilean was the dogs as was sailing through Tower Bridge and them raising it and stopping traffic....brilliant.....Essex Boys on tour

....putting the post took a while and was working on it here and there so this link slipped my mind....
PAM 425......I'm down for a 449 (not that I'm a) confident of getting the call or b) confident of finding the wedge even if that email comes in!) either way this 425 was very nice and the dial was cool. Would be interested to see what it will look like with the pig on the dial, suppose that could be a bit marmite. (you either love it or hate it) personally I think it is cleaner without. What say you?
So that should be the report wrapped up now. Thanks for all the replies and thanks for looking. I owe a few of you chaps an email. Until the next time the Essex boys have an adventure .......
Yet again Phuman.....weeeeelllll jel!!! .... Great report bruvva and I hope ya didn't >
