hey guys,

need some advice. i have a pam 140 thats not really doing it for me anymore. i was thinking of trading it in for the pam 289. a friend just told me to hold on to the 140 because it will be hard to find. any advice on this?

Humble opinion follows . . .

1. The 140 has always been "hard to find," but that hasn't translated into a higher sales price (in fact, pre-owned 140s routinely sell for nearly $10k below retail);
2. Most precious metal Panerais (gold, tantalum, platinum (except the 21)) tend to suffer the "new car syndrome:" they take a huge hit in value as soon as they leave the dealership;
3. If you can get a straight trade for the 289, take it.

I'd trade it for sure

I'm not such a fan of yellow gold, prefer the 289 rose gold myself, + it has the inhouse movement

great pic pat. yes the rose gold is nicer. especially with the brown dial. 1950's case is the way to go for me. thanks for the pic.
