Whoever thought Composite is dead after the trouble some case backs caused to the owners, was wrong.
Yesterday Panerai presented two new Composite modells to the world.
One in 47 and the other one in 45 mm.
Case back made of glass.
Both looking great!
As the watches are not part of a Special Edition chances are good to get one.
They look fab, love the gold hands on the 47mm models, any idea of the movement?
I think we can be sure the legendary corrosion problem of the 339 must be fixed, they must have a couple of years of data on these as well, so must be pretty confident they have it sorted. I love mine
The prices even look pretty reasonable.
The remaining question has to be does this mean the 375 and 386 will still be coming, i spoke to one of the watch makers from OP about the problems they were having with the crown guard, so i guess once they figure that out then maybe we'll get those back, it may well be time to resurrect my 375 order to go with the 339
As the name implies, Panerai Aluminium ceramic (Composite) is actually aluminum that has been ceramiced by changing the basic formation of the aluminum through conductive liquid and electric energy under very high temperature together with an electrochemical process. When the aluminum is ceramiced, it is not only harder than the titanium and stainless steel but also lighter and harder than the conventional zirconia ceramic. Moreover, its toughness has been enhanced. Aluminium ceramic has an advantage of being able to be synthesized into a variety of different colors and appears to be new even after long use due to its inertia.

Anyone noticed that the seconds hand on the 504 is a bit small compared to the dial as a whole and even looks smaller than the 505's seconds hand. I hope this is just because it's the prototype and they were in a hurry, lastly if you notice it is also too close to the 9.
