Just keeping a weather eye on you lot

March 20 2017, 8:26 AM

We're all good thanks, how about you and yours?

I don't get a lot of spare time for forums - 8 months into three years part-time training for ordained ministry (whilst still working full time in the rag trade)
I catch the train into Brum every Tuesday evening and do a residential weekend once a month here www.queens.ac.uk with plenty of essays and reading in between plus ministry training in my parish

Still fondly remember the old days with your good self, Tide, Dale, et al

The closest I can get to a priestly story..............

March 21 2017, 8:16 PM

A priest is having his hair cut. At the end of the haircut, he asks the barber, “How much for the cut?”
“Nothing,” says the barber, “I don’t charge men of religion to have their hair cut.”
The priest thanks him and off he goes. The next morning, the barber comes to work, and on his doorstep he finds 12 bottles of wine.
A few weeks later, the barber’s cutting the hair of a bishop. At the end of the haircut, the bishop asks the barber, “How much for the cut?”
“Nothing,” says the barber, “I don’t charge men of the cloth to have their hair cut.”
The bishop thanks him and off he goes. The next morning, the barber comes to work, and on his doorstep he finds 12 bottles of wine.
A few weeks after this, the barber’s cutting the hair of a rabbi. At the end of the haircut, the rabbi asks the barber, “How much for the cut?”
“Nothing,” says the barber, “I don’t charge men of religion to have their hair cut.”
The rabbi thanks him and off he goes. The next morning, the barber comes to work, and on his doorstep he finds 12 rabbis.

All well here, thank you. My second daughter just got engaged so, with a wedding to pay for, any thought of more watch-buying is pretty well suspended for a while!
Are you still in Stratford-upon-Avon? Have you still got the Land Rover?
