It was a long, sunny drive from Los Angeles. I'll probably have it shipped back to me.

My ETA-based watch hasn't been serviced since new, born 2006. Drop off experience was simple. The rep took down my instructions which is no refinish and just clean up/service the insides. There was a piece of lint near the 3 that bugged me that I left alone for some time that I wanted gone.

They called me later in the day telling me the watchmaker said oils were dry, that it did need a service. Was quoted $510. 1.5 weeks turnaround.

So far, so good. Thanks for the reference, ya'll.

Just wonder, was the watch acting up before you send it in?

Are they servicing the watch in-house or sending it somewhere else?

BTW, its exactly what I would do as well, service the movement and change up all the gasket, but leave the case alone. happy.gif

If not for the piece of lint and me having some free time, I would probably have put this off until something actually broke. 217 has a basic movement so they're doing it all in-house so to speak. Thanks.

I probably won't drive there to pick it up. Too far and not a San Diego lover. Thanks.
