Of course you need a radiomir, do it! 😉

LOL, you guys are a bunch of enablers!
May 14 2017, 3:57 AM
This is like asking a bunch of people at a Sexaholics anonymous meeting whether we should go to the lunch buffet at the Strip Club- meaning I think I already know the answer!.

You should get on this immediately
. A few thoughts . . Which watch is more difficult to find ? . . and . .

Which watch is more difficult to find ?
. If you purchase the 687 now, how difficult will it be to later get the SD?
. If you get the SD now and later wish you had gone for the 687 ... how hard will it be to find one?
Which watch best fills your personal sweet spots?
Last, how does this complication impact you $$,$$$ ?
If the answers to these questions essentially add up to "about the same" and "negligible" ... Then jump on that bad boy.
Yes, thanks D. Very good questions.

I actually haven't thought about which would be more difficult. Absolutely the 687 as only a 1000 are being made. I'm still weighing the other questions. But thanks again.
Get the sea Dweller... <nt>

I bought mine a couple months ago and absolutely love it. I can't tell you how many compliments I get on it😀
Here's a picture of mine

Thank you- you've captured the dial beautifully. I found it difficult to capture the beauty of the dial with my iPhone pics in the store.
I'd go for the Rolex....
May 14 2017, 6:56 AM
I used to own a PAM356, but tired of the faux patina markers and numbers quite quickly. The dial of the 687 is entirely made up of faux patina, thus it doesn't float my particular boat. Also, down the road, I suspect your resale would be much easier and worthwhile with the Rolex, should you want to sell on.
Just my 2c, of course - what a pleasant dilemma!'
May 14 2017, 1:58 PM
Definitely a 1st world problem.
If you were not on Paneristi.com, would you ever consider this PAM?
May 14 2017, 11:45 AM
Does this PAM really sing to you, or would you be buying it for the wrong reasons? If you told me that you absolutely loved it on your wrist and you can't stop thinking about it, I would say "go for it." But if you have to ask other people's opinions, then you are trying to talk yourself into it...and truth be told, with a novelty PAM like this, you could tire of it quicker unless you are really bought into it...did they have a 685 as well?
No, they didn't have a 685.

It might have made the decision easier. And I think your right, I'm not sold on it but I don't want to make a decision to pass on it that I may regret later.
Don't get it...
May 14 2017, 1:10 PM
Your not sold and you will wind up regretting it. Plus my two cents is that the Rolex is the better purchase.
....i say go for it

just living the dream
'more than just a watch'....
Re: I've got a decision to make re 687

I have 1 luminor and 1 Rad and the rads are gorgeous. I am also going to get the 43 Sea Dweller as I am #1!on my ADs waiting list for it's it's a tough call. If you can not get both then go with whatever moves you most. The Rad is a special edition, the Sea Dweller will be very collectible if they only make it this year but we dont know that yet so you really gotta go with what you think you will appreciate more
I also heard that Rolex might only be making the red lettering
May 14 2017, 4:45 PM
on the new SD for this year only, but who really knows. This one fact has me leaning towards the SD.
May 15 2017, 3:16 AM
Please shoot me an email at jlongcameo at gmail dot com. I have a question .
I'd choose 126600 over the 687 any day of the week ...
May 14 2017, 4:33 PM
The 687 doesn't sing to me. If you are looking for a Radiomir, there are far better options at that price range or cheaper. To name a few in my order of preference: 249, 190, 232 to name a few. Getting a 249 might be a bit tougher than the other two. Not to mention, 721 and 722 will be released soon and I'd choose the 721 over 687. I was offered a 685 two weeks ago and I never even asked to be on the waitlist for the watch. I can think of one other person who bought a 685 and immediately turned around and put it in the market.
If you are looking from the perspective of an investment, I would go with the new SD over the 687. A 50th anniversary SD will carry much weight in the future. Having said all that, it comes down to your preference and what you are looking for. Given that you were never looking for the 687 but is looking forward to the SD, it sounds like you are looking for confirmation from us not to get the 687. I think you already know what you want to do. Pull the trigger on the one you initially had your sights on.
If YOU actually liked it enough you wouldn't be posting this question.
May 14 2017, 8:52 PM
The fact you're hesitating makes me think you should move on.
Get the Sea-Dweller, even with its 43mm it'll be way more versatile than the 687.
