I have read several threads but confused what size the lug end should be

Some have said with a thicker 4 - 5 mm vintage strap 27mm is too wide & to go 26mm but good for a gator strap .

I have several 26 X 26 for my 372 and I like the 150 X 90 mm length but most of those are 4.5 -5 triple layered style except for my Church Hill Brown Croc with gold stitch

Please swear me the right direction .

Mike

I will do 4 mm thick on 27 x 24 mm and 3.5 with 27 x 22 >>

I find 4 mm is just about right with 3.5 just slightly dressier

Rads don't have the same weight and slimmer case means a slimmer strap

Straps are to compliment the watch and not overwhelm it

Frame it, but not be front and center

I've always used 27mm wide straps with my 232. The issue with the thicker straps is more>

With the strap contacting the case of the watch between the lugs if it is very thick. If it is really thick it could could also be too tall to fit under the wire lugs. As Don said if you are using a really thick strap it will look funny on a radiomir. I also doubt it's historically correct (even if the strap maker writes a number on it wink.gif ).

I always go with 26/26 on all 47mm PAMS...

Never been a fan of the 27mm wide straps, plus if you have a 372 as well then you can simply order the same size strap for both watches. With my 7.75" wrist I always go with 26/26 and 145/95. I also always prefer a 4mm thick strap, 5mm is too much, 3mm is way too little IMO.

I'm with Micah on this one.

I like to use straps on as many watches as possible. I'd rather "lose" 1/2mm on each side of a rad than cram a 27 into 26 lugs.

I go along with what Micah had said as I have a 372 and a 368 as well, buying 26 makes sense so you practically "double up" your options.

However, I got 27mm for the "dressy" look, I got an Asso and a custom tuna in 27mm for my 232, 249 and 449.

Good luck with your search happy.gif

i have used 27/22 oem straps on my 232 and 26/26 straps as well

if the strap is thinner the 27mm is fine, if it's too thick it can be a pita.

good luck with your new 232, can't wait to see the piocs

Thanks for all the Wisdom and Help Guys!!

I did switch my orders on incoming straps to thinner leather per Michah and the 26 X26 width .

I already have as Beef noted multiuser straps from my 372 in 26 X 26 and I will have to see what fits best . Many strap makers and they can all be different thicknesses etc!

Here is a thinner strap I did not like on my 372 but seems to be great for the 232.
