Hello friends paneristi,

i recently purchased a used PAM 213 from a local jewelry store and now i'm concerned with it's authenticity. Help me figure out whether its real or not. i know i can ship it to Panerai and for like $400 they will authenticate them, but im concern if they aren't authentic they just confiscate them, and im out of a watch and the money.
please help.
below are all the numbers i could find on the case:

A shot of the watch and especially the movement is necessary....

No way to know otherwise. the blued split second module on that movement will be the biggest tell on a fake...

Panerai Authentication

It should also be known, according to my last experience, that this is only done in Switzerland, so your watch would be gone for some time. I had this done in 2017 on a 127, even though I was 90% sure it was authentic, I could not trace it to the original buyer, so I sent it off. They returned it with a certificate. I also had a full service while it was out. While it did take several months, my experience was excellent, and the piece of mind was worth the effort, to me!

There are some amazing fakes out there. Be careful!

This was done through the Beverly HIlls Boutique, and as always, they're awesome (so is Bal Harbour in Florida).

beware this does not work so well for models with Tritium dials/hands ...

February 19 2018, 7:24 AM

Panerai will not authenticate or work on watches with Tritium in the dials ... they will insist on replacing the hands/dial with newer service parts that have Luminova instead .... unfortunately, then the value of your vintage model is worth much less
