The Original Ammo straps!
Every year Kevin and I complete a project that will enhance our own watch collections...and hopefully yours! We started making these several years ago and have had a waiting list ever since that time! Others are copying us (they say that is the greatest form of flattery), but our attention to detail and quality are truly unique and true to the original vintage straps used in WWII! And everything is hand done!
All straps are Custom made to order to your exact specifications!
We were able to get our hands on French and Swiss WWII Ammo Pouches! The leather is thick, rich, supple, well preserved and has a true authentic look and feel... because it is the real thing. This leather is approximately 60 years old and has tons of character! We also treat these leathers in oils and waxes to further preserve their life. Best of all, it also makes them very comfortable to wear and resistant to stains and water.
We have made thick Pre Vendom style buckles out of aircraft quality steel. These are sewn into the strap that we cut and stitch by hand ourselves... right here in the US. However, the leather is thick and very hard to work with. We feel our price is reasonable considering the amount of time it takes to make a strap. Yes, ours cost more, because they are worth it! It takes a full day to make one strap!

Here is a note from Kevin:
Every strap will be totally hand stitched and measured in width and length for the Military watch collector! I use a single piece of thread, starting on one side, and stitched with 2 needles through each hole, back and forth around the edges, to the other side. My hand stitching creates straight lines (that you won't find in straps made by a sewing machine) and stitches will be more durable and less likely to fray!
The buckles are hand finished, which take about an hour each, I pay special attention to the details no one else thinks about... like the keepers being individually sized. I'm not sure if you noticed, but because of where the keepers are placed in the strap, the fixed one only wraps around 2 layers of leather, plus the long side, but the floating one, has to wrap around ALL the layers, (including the long side) therefore it has to be lightly larger, (maybe 1, to 1.5 millimeter). Most guys make all the keepers the same size, that's why the floating one almost ALWAYS does just that! This doesn't include the time I will take to treat and match leather, pick hides with the most character, measure and cut the hides. I am confident everyone will be happy with the craftsmanship and the end product!

Most straps are long to immulate the authenticity of the original Panerai straps. However, the straps have extra holes so that they fit on smaller wrist. All straps have two keepers that will keep the long end of the strap attached to the opposite end of the strap. This will give the strap a vintage and meaty appearance. These are super comfortable!

Because these are vintage in nature, we recommend you add 20 mm to the long end of the strap and 5 to the buckle side to maintain authenticity. Kevin will place the holes so that your strap will fit! Email me with questions and we will figure out the best look and fit.
Here is a picture of a 26 mm strap on my Vintage Panerai 6152 1. I normally wear a standard size 120/75. However, because of the extra holes and second keeper, This 140/80 fits me great!
Here is a picture of a WWII strap on my IWC Big Pilot watch. Are you tired of a skinny strap on your Big Pilot watch? We can make a 24 mm wide strap that slightly tapers to fit between the 22 mm space at the lugs. The rest of the strap will slightly flair and measure 24 mm. The change in size is barely visible to the naked eye and you will have an authentic wide strap! This strap looks fantastic on this watch!
Colors and Grains will Vary! Wrinkles and Cosmetic Blemishes in the hide add character.

You can wear one of these in place of your true Vintage, Pre Vendom or A series strap and protect the collectibility of the "original" equipment that came with your watch. We are the original makers of Vintage Ammo straps.
We appreciate that you have supported our efforts to make authentic straps to enhance your charished timpieces over the past several years. Kevin, Donna, Josh and I want to thank you very much!
We have had so many request for black straps, we tried to find the proper ammo pouches. Unfortunately, WWII ammo pouches were not made with black leather, so we decided to hand dye some of our WWII ammo pouches.
The straps are basically the same as the other ammos straps you have received from us. The only difference is that the leather will be hand washed and totally hand dyed. Ours are completely hand made from the cutting to the stitching, buckle preperation and natural leather treatment application. So the dying process will be done with the same care.
As you might guess, this old leather absorbs the dye readily. However, with the multitude of treatment we give the leather in oils and waxes after the strap has been made, some parts of the leather will show as dark brown making the black slighltly inconsistant. I think you will agree that the imperfections in texture and color are the things that make these straps have so much character!
Another option we have added is blue stitching. If you have a PAM 194, 187, 202 or 225 this strap is a must have. Of course this strap in a 24 mm would look great on a PAM 87, 253 Regatta or any other watch you want to have the sporty look. The blue stitching is darker than it appears in the picture and you will be happy with the contrast.

Standard Length OEM 115/75, comparable fit with tail, Ammo 140/80.
We recommend that the short side of the strap be 5 mm longer than what you wear in a standard OEM strap, and 20 mm longer than the long side of what you wear in a standard OEM strap to achieve the vintage look. But we will of course make it any length that you prefer.
