The system youare questioning is Manufactured by the Hughes Corp, and redistributed as Directway 2 way system or SRS, However, the company that is selling the storm data system for allmost $7k is simply using the above equipment, and intergrating a motor driven servo system with it along with a signal meter to allow it to lock into the satelite, I bought the very same satelite system for my house, of course as a fixed staionary system, I purchased it for $399.00 and a $199.00 install cost I tried evrything I could to get it to have better upload speeds over 42 kbps, it was supposed to deliver up to 128kps, Good download speeds but uplink speed is just as important, and then there is the lag, and also the ISP that comes with it puts caps on it better known as FAP, which throttles it down during peak usage or if you do a large download! The system never gave true broadband performance, support was terrible, and the cost of the ISP for $79 a month wasnt worth it, I sent it back to the seller for a refund, however if you are living outa your RV and spend all your time on the road, this is about the only way youll get a decent conection to the net, on this very same forum, there is a thread about buying the system I just described and manually tuning it to the satelite after you park for the night or whatever! In my opinion your way overpaying for the servo auto tune capabilities, They are only using someones elses design and marking it way up with the auto tracking, so its up to you, its not the best connection or broadband, but no better than dialup, for the up speed, the downloads are better than dial up, the system is suppossed to deliver 128 up/ 400 dwn , I never got over 42kbps up, but did achive downloads of over 800kbps dwn when there wasnt alot of people on it, and also when you are assigned a satelite, thats it, no more on the menu, which is ****, cause you should have the ability to switch satelites if one is delivering poor performance because its overloaded with users! Again its up to you on whether you want to climb up top or whatever to tune it in or to have it done automaticly! If you can afford a Prevost RV, then you wont care about $7k, if not then $ would be an issue to me! "SIDEWAYS"
