Consolidation Error: SQL Deadlock

We've been Using HFM 9.3.1 for a little over a year now. Recently, our consolidations will being to hang up. When I review the error log I see the following errors.

|RefCount > 0 is True
SQL deadlock
Timeout while inserting/deleting to the database

the only changes we have made recently was to increase the KeepAliveTimeout, ReceiveTimeout and ServerInfoTimeout on the clients and the servers. Would this change cause the errors?

Does anyone know why we would just start to receive these errors? and, More importantly, does anyone know how we can prevent these errors in the future?
