Okay, I have finally found some time to sit down and gather my thoughts on the Winger Tour....I tell you, reliving this through thought has certainly made me wish I had another chance to experience this again. Wow!!! They were awesome! Okay, here's is my review:
Winger. One band. Five guys. A WORLD of talent. And nothing short of AMAZING! Winger has been on the road promoting their new CD, Winger IV....an excellent CD, rich with the most powerful music and lyrics today. Winger has always been my favorite band and while you may see me as partial, all I can say is listen to the music, or better yet, catch a live show and it will speak for itself. I recently had the pleasure of seeing them live on their Winger IV Tour and while they may not be playing stadiums and big arenas, they may as well be! This band defines big...you just FEEL the raw energy.....it's electric, it's intoxicating and almost spiritual with its hard driving guitars, heart pounding drums and lyrics that tell a story from the wild abandon of our youth, to the heart wrenching tale of our troops, laced with everything in between....life as we know it. From the very first chord when the lights go on and they take the stage, the music rips right through you and settles in like a drug with such powerful force it becomes an addiction. Once you see them live, it leaves you wanting more. If I could hit rewind and experience this tour again, I would! If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend it...you'll walk away with a new appreciation of a band who has endured (undeserved) controversy, yet, have never wavered and have always stayed true to themselves and their fans. When you consider that each one of them have had (and still have) very successful solo careers in ALL facets of music and put them all together, well, to put it lightly, it's a rare gift indeed, not only for the artists, but for the fans as well. I have always said, the best gift, is the gift of music, so, please, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to their music and a live show. You won't be disappointed! Kip, Reb, Rod, John, Paul and Cenk....thank you for the gift of your music.
