The Walk, Atlantic City's midtown shopping district, will host Rock & Roll Dadfest 2008 Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. The event will include a meet-and-greet, autograph signing and a jam session with former Monkees drummer Sandy Gennaro, who has toured with Cyndi Lauper and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts; Earl Slick, who performed with David Bowie and John Lennon; and Kip Winger, founding member of the band Winger.

Rock & Roll Dadfest also features the Incredible Hulk character appearance to distribute free midnight preview screening tickets for a movie at Frank Theaters in Egg Harbor Township. Splash, mascot for the Atlantic City Surf baseball team, and team manager Cecil Fielder will be on hand for photos.

Live entertainment, games, face painting, moon bounce, demonstrations and displays will be set up. Most outlet stores will be participating in a sidewalk sale.

Delaware's 99.5 WJBR-FM will broadcast live Friday from The Walk as a kickoff to the event. Afternoon drive radio personality Mike Sommers will be at Starbuck's Plaza from 3 to 7 p.m. During the broadcast, listeners and visitors to The Walk can win Rock & Roll Dadfest prize packages, which include a Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp T-shirt, tickets to Campapalooza in New York City and autographed pictures of Slick, Gennaro and Winger.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for putting this information up, Deeandra! Otherwise, I would not have arranged to go down to see it! And it was great to see Kip in AC playing some cool classic rock songs! As I mentioned, my kids went and had a great time meeting their first rock star and for that matter seeing their first "real" rock show! I am so glad that they have this as their first experience! Great memories for sure!

I really wanted my girls to go to the Orlando gig with me but having only a couple days notice, they were already committed to something else. I was SO bummed, I can't even tell you. The girls love Runaway and In Your Eyes Another Life and they would have been thrilled beyond words to have met him. Ahhh well, maybe another time. I am sure your kids will always remember that day
