Holy Man by Kip Winger
"A prayer for Darrell Lance Abbott "
Known to most as Dimebag Darrell
This song is a bonus track off Kip Winger's new CD "From the Moon to the Sun", released in the USA by MVD Entertainment. I ordered it the day of its release just for this one song since I already have the CD because, as a long time fan, I knew this one song, would be more than worth it.....
I was right, but had no idea how powerful, how moving, how touching this song would be. I knew those elements would all be there since this is part of the reason I'm so drawn to Kip's artisty but this song exceeds anything I could have imagined. From the the lyrics, to the music and the vocals, this song captures the very essence of the highest honor, not only as a dedication to a special friend, but also a tribute to the fact that Kip is a composer by nature. It's beautiful, spiritual, heavenly.....a prayer to song.

Hi Chessie, I remember that post! He said he'd let us know the inspiration behind the song when the record comes out. Now that it's out, we know who the inspiration is. It's beautiful song....
hey, forget my post below. It's cheaper at Best Buy.com!!
Thanks for the info. I ordered one but got an error message after I typed in my credit card info. Then I realized I didn't even register or log in. What the hec do I do? Has this happened to anyone else? Do we have to type the full 4 digits for the year in the card expiration date? What abuot those 3 numbers on the back of the card? I typed those in but it said invalid card number format. Do we have to register first? Thanks!!

CD Order Help
November 6 2008, 10:03 PM
Hi Christine, I'm sorry you had problems.......I didn't have any problems so I don't really know what could have happened. I would suggest you call them to find out if they got your order & if they didn't, you can see if they will take your order by phone. Tel 800-888-0486 or 610-650-8200. Here is their email if you prefer that customerservice@mvdb2b.com .
Good luck! If you need more help, let me know. Alternatively, you could check with your local music store too.
I went to my local FYE store and they had FTMTTS right there in the store! YAY! That was so cool.
I listened to Holy Man right away....wow! So,so beautiful. I loved the harmonies and I really enjoyed hearing Paula's beautiful voice. The lyrics are so touching. I am so glad that I got another copy. It REALLY was worth it!
I just love this CD so much. I listen to it a lot going in to work and it puts me in a great state of mind ready to handle anything that the day brings! My kids actually ask for it in the morning if I don't have it on. Their favorite song is Nothing. I enjoy it so much that I am giving several copies out as Christmas gifts so that my family and friends can experience this awesome CD! Music makes a great gift and I love introducing people to great music and this is really excellent music.
Chessie....I hear you. Very difficult to listen to that song if you have lost someone recently. However.....
I absolutely LOVE that friggin song. I play it a lot. It does hit a chord with me in terms of loss....but it is so beautiful that you just can't NOT listen to it. In some ways, it is healing too.
Ashamed to say that I haven't gotten the US version of the CD yet, so I haven't heard Holy Man yet. I'm sure I'll love it, but not sure I want to hear it right now with the recent passing of my dad. But Sandy is right - even tho it hurts to hear songs like that, sometimes you need to hear them in order to heal. If I'm able to this weekend, I think I'll try to get the CD.
What's the difference between the U.S. version of the CD and the European version? Are there any songs the European version has that the U.S. version doesn't?
"I'll mend your broken heart," he said.
"Under one condition."
