So, very nice to find this site, and thank you Deeandra for the time and effort it really shows.
I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that until last week. I didn't recognize Winger from any other band from the past. That has changed. Like others of you, currently I am not working and times are hard. To ease them, I have reopened the door to modern music and found Winger. I caught a video of Winger on VH1 Classic and enjoyed it greatly because I love dance! I can only describe Kip Winger in it as liquid metal! And I have been burned it is so rare to find a man that can really move. When one is discovered, he should be treasured. The rest of the band moved almost as well. In the video they just didn't have enough time on camera to appreciate really.
If any of you can list some other videos of Kip dancing. I would appreciate it greatly. He and the band still look very goodperhaps inspiring me to continue my on and off again get back into shape attempts.
My real name is Patricia, but online I use Sekhmet frequently when posting on my interest boards. She is an ancient Egyptian goddess of healing, protection, and if she has too of destruction. I am a grandmother, a futurist, and a student of Ancient history, Ancient Egypt, anthropology (mostly cultural), world religions, and learning to write English without my historical prone errors. I grew up traveling so my educational background is very scattered. English and math took the worse blows during this time. So, please forgive my lapses. My musical tastes have always been Rock mostly of the 60s, and 70s, what is called primitive, or reconstructed ancient music. Chinas 12 Girl Band is an example of primitive music becoming more modern and cool. Classical music and I prefer the Baroque Period the best. I prefer instrumental music to vocals so I am really stunned with Mr. Winger. I look forward to including and growing my Winger, Kip Winger, and Blackwood Creek muscial collection, (once I am back on my feet). Right now, I am even considering upgrading my computer abilities to keep better track of Kip and his music.
Liquid Metal AKA Kip Winger, it is so hard to address him as anything else right now; except as Mr. Winger. Because I try to fit in, I am using his first name and feel really strange doing so. Anyway, it is a pleasure to find a modern rock band that can actually construct music. Like I know Kip, and his band has since the early day. That they not only continue their devotion of good music but are intent on improving. From what I have been reading on site, I know he is and I am thankful music is and has been a great part of history. To know an American band is able to put out the music I have been able to listen to over the past week, with the reviews I have been reading just makes me want to dance!
A very great day to all and again thank you.
I respond to Patricia, Pat, Patty, or Sekhmet please feel free to call me whatever strikes you.

Hi Patricia....welcome and thank you for visiting the site I'm glad you found your way to Winger's music....they truly are a great band! Their talent far exceeds many and the music proves that. They do have an Official channel on YouTube where you can see most of their videos:http://www.youtube.com/OfficialWinger. It's relatively new and they've already been rated quite high in the rankings so it shows how much interest the band has. They've also mentioned writing again for another album due out in the Fall so that is very exciting!
Thank you again for visiting the site and welcome Enjoy the music!
All thanks belong to you Deeandra, for today I got to listen to my third ever Winger song. No, dancing in it but their music sure did it for them. It is a very rare song that dances on its notes...I sincerely look forward to building my Winger experience and library. Again many thanks to you and your efforts.
Welcome to this site. I haven't been here for long, but you'll find a wealth of information (thanks, Deeandra!) and some really nice folks always willing to talk about KW's incredible talent.
I envy you -- just three Winger songs down, so many to enjoy for the first time. I've heard them all, many times, and am excited for anything new. If you haven't already, check out KW's solo work. It's extraordinary, and much different from Winger. I think you'll be dancing to it, as well!
Thank you so very much Kim. Yes, there is a wealth of information on the site and I am and have been enjoying it, greatly. While the previous posts and my own welcome here shows the quality of people belonging to the site. Wonderful!
I understand you envy... it is really my fate to envy those that have been long time fans. How your lives must have been enriched listening to his real and great modern music! I am the poorer, but no longer!
I am looking forward to listening to the solo work. It must be the best, therefore it is being saved for the last. Thank you for the heads up that it is different, I will be ready then for a real surprise.

Welcome Patricia! Kip's music has touched us all. I hope you post your thoughts here as you listen to his songs. If you haven't already, check out his myspace page for music as well.
I'd like to welcome you as well! You have found something in Kip that all of us here have found and cherish. We "get" what he is about and don't get tired of listening to his music, whether it's with Winger or his solo work. Just about everyday I listen to his music at work on my earphones - the same music everyday but it makes me feel so good inside! I agree that you may want to check out his solo work, especially his latest "From the Moon to the Sun". There's a good variety there, and I guarantee your body will dance as well as your soul!
Thank you so very much, for your welcome Susan. I am posting comments on OfficalWinger You tube site. However, since you have asked I will copy my first 3 here. For the time being, you will likely see me around. Sharing can be such great fun. Again thank you.

Welcome Patricia! It's always great to see newbies really getting into Kip's music. I hope that you are able to take in one of his solo shows at some point because his recorded music is incredible, but his solo performances will absolutely take your breath away.
Thank you Bobbie, for your welcome! Into it? Ha! Hooked, lined and pulled in, can be said honestly. I believe you about his solo performances, he is an entertainer and a nice looking man. What I really want is to experience his work in Tucson and San Francisco. Then I will catch more I promise you. Again thank you as well for the welcome.

Hi Patricia. Welcome. I hope you love it here. You wont see a whole lot of me on here because I visit so many rockband message boards that it's hard to be what you would call a regular presence on any of them. But I've known a lot of these ladies for almost 7 years and they are a great group of ladies. I think you will love them. And I love hearing stories about people being touched on an emotional maybe even a spiritual level by an artists music. Like you were by Wingers music. Rock on
Thank you for the welcome Teslarocker, and the hugs as well. A long time association of like minded fans sounds very nice. While a newbie I can say that, the ladies are very nice and I look forward to developing a online relationship with those agreeable. Music can and often does take the listener onto a spiritual level, I thankfully agree with you on that.
Again thanks Teslarocker.

I fell for Winger because of my dance background and growing up with Rudolf Nureyev dancing before my eyes, first in black and white then color. I cannot forget, to mention Mikhail Baryshnikov either. Two of the worlds greatest all time ballet dancers. I have been so lucky. I admit when I became aware of Winger, it was the nice looks, and hair that allowed me to first enjoy Heading for a Heartbreak. I recalled thinking pretty men but not boys.
After a couple views of it, I began to notice that Kip Wingers body didnt have the look of most front men. It was just to fine, very muscular but not heavily sculpted, concaved belly in the right place, with the familiar outward thrust of the upper chest, his legs and arms scaled just right. My attention magnified and I said, Oh, he has a dancers body. Smiled and let it go, I put Winger on my list to catch when able. I didnt know they were still making music, or even Kips first name.
Then last week, VH1 Classic played Cant get Enuff I caught the last half. The last half has him moving with only the grace and ease of an experienced ballet dancer. The next day I spent some hours researching Winger, learned Kips first name and some history. Deciding that I had, HAD to see the whole video; for the 2nd time in my life, I watched a musical video on my computer. (The first was of a young lady playing taps in a concert form.) I watched Cant get Enuff like eight times. By the time I was finished watching for his moves I had to look for ways to regain my sanity. I forced laughs at his bad boy-knowing smile, paid greater attention to the other band members, and wanted to died every time Kip moved across the screen. As I watched another 4-6 times.
I have since learned that in part, because of his and Wingers treatment by his preferred genre. He is moving more into my areas of long affection classical music. Nor can I be any happier about it. Why? I cant think of any heavy metal rocker, off the top of my mind. That has ever crossed over such a line. Most simply dont have the education, discipline, or skill to do so. Some have the ability, but without the other they are not going too. Mr. Winger is doing it and it is so exciting! If more could perhaps, VH1 wouldnt have to promote the charity to get music back into our schools, I meant to a million children. Had Winger received the respect they deserved. Perhaps our schools might have kept music in the school because they demonstrate just what trained musicians can do. Projections of what if can be fun for old grannies. There is more to life than winning the football game.
I understand it, but most Americans have this crazy belief that men in ballet are effeminate. Kip Winger is the best example of a former student of dance, and he was/is in no way anything but a hot-blooded American male that really knows how to move. Oh, yes and what a pleasure that can be.
