My You tube comments about Winger

Only the first one has been acutally posted as of today. The others are waiting approval.

1) Song- "Spell I'm under"- I bet I am not the only one humbled by the talent of Winger throughout the years. Thank you so very much- for real heavy metal music.

2) Song- "Can't get enuff"- This video remains dangerous! Fathers dont let your daughters see it!

3) Song- "Easy come, easy go"- Winger, from the start, out batted its league. Winger had no gimmicks: just great looks, and greater music. By 1993, other hard rockers where having trouble, against the ever increasing and scorching standard set by young Winger. Political correctness 1993 became 'in': talented, hard working, literate, ethically challenged hard rockers got spitefully left behind and abused; until rappers, and gangsters replaced heavy metal, almost forever.

I don't watch the vids all that much...I'm more into listening to the CD's. You should hear him sing "Spell I'm Under" live. Takes you away! You are not the only one humbled by the talent of Winger. When you have a chance, maybe check out the solo work of the other band members. happy.gif

Agreed Susan most are weeds, a few are roses

May 29 2009, 3:13 PM

Hi Susan!

I believe you about Spell Im Under in a live concert and my Lord willing I will someday. I rarely bet, and usually only on sure things, thank you for showing me that I am never alone. In my belief about just how humbling a body of work can be.

I do not watch much video either; most of the music I enjoy does not have videos. I stopped videos cold turkey, in 1987 after my son introduced me to them in 1984. Last Christmas, I turned on VH1 classic rock. I guess in the end to discover Winger, Kip Winger, Rod Morgenstein, Reb Beach, John Roth, Cenk Eroglu, and Paul Taylor.

In researching yesterday, I decided I would investigate Professor Rod after I completed my current fun. We share some things in common, percussion, jazz, southern oriented, classical, instrumental music, and Florida. Since percussion is such a major force in all primitive, traditional music it is only natural for me to go next to Rod Morgenstein. I tend to be thorough when researching to me it is so much fun!

My dad was a great fan of Buddy Rich, the great Jazz/Big Band drummer. Would not be surprise if, Professor Rod has some memories of Buddy Rich himself. I remember dad calling me to the T.V. to watch Buddy on it. Between dads playing of Buddys music and getting to see him play, percussion work has always been a big factor in my life. Sometimes, I wonder if Buddy Rich is in part why I am so interested in percussion dominated very early music.

On YouTube, you do not have to watch the videos if you already know the music. I do not know it. However, you can make comments and I would humbly encourage long time; Winger fans to post comments, simply to build the sites numbers. Only please, do not write, So, underrated I suspect the raters did not underrate them. They sabotaged Winger for some of the reasons I have mentioned above. No one that has any real knowledge of music could ever accidentally underrate young Winger. Hmm, perhaps I will post that on the comment sitehttp://www.youtube.com/OfficialWinger.

Could you or someone else tell me about My Space? I do not really know much about being a member of it. In the WWW. like any primitive oriented person; I rather not risk my computer by exploring things I do not know much about. Deeandras encouragement lead me to YouTube. My lust only for- good modern music, by nice looking men i.e. Winger made me join. When things get better, I intend to get a MP3 and get everything I can by them CDs and DVDs so I can control my listening easier. What is a good MP3? I have tended to live as the great Dutch humanist, Erasmus said so well, When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes. Only I include music sometimes as well. In his day, they did not have take home music!

Correction

May 29 2009, 2:16 PM

Correction for post number one- I wrote ethically challenged in the third statement, it should have been ethnically challenged.

My political incorrectness of daring to suggest. That educated white men can do better than the uneducated of any ethnic group, threw me off. I deeply regret my error.

Kip Winger Interviewd by Eddie Truck comment

May 29 2009, 2:29 PM

Yesterday, I found the below site of Kip Winger interview by Eddie Trunk I include my comment because it does deal with Kip Winger. Due to my renewed interest in heavy metal and its fortunes over the years, I started watchingThat Metal Show of Eddie Trunk. In my growing enjoyment of Winger, on occasion I heard mention of Winger on it. Perhaps he challenged me to dig deeper than just another 80s hair band in his normally dismissive statements of Winger. What he was saying did not agree with my own growing opinion.

The artist seems more than willing to work with Tr. Trunk, however since watching "That Metal Show" of his. The only time I hear anything about Winger or Kip Winger on it. I have to admit isn't reflective of this interview; except when Mr. Trunk is letting his jealousy show and ribbing a far better man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzGHLBFUtEc&feature=related

I wish English was not so hard for me. On the bright side, sometimes my goofy sentence structure does help people to understand my perspective better. Not all the time unfortunately.

MySpace

May 31 2009, 8:16 PM

MySpace is one of the many social networking sites on the web. You have your own profile where you can blog, post pictures. It can be as public or as private as you want it. You can decorate your page too. If you click on the sign above that says "Kip Winger Rocks" it will take you to his myspace page. There you can listen to his tunes and read his blogs. Also, there's a ton of musicians that use MySpace. If you're a music fan and it seems like you are; you will find music from all genres there.

Hope this helps! happy.gif

MySpace is a GREAT place to connect with new music from so many different genre's...it's like a candy store of music. I have found so many artists whose music I love, that I wouldn't have otherwise found if it weren't for MySpace.

Glad you'[re enjoying the music Patricia happy.gif

Deeandra, thank you I am enjoying the music and catching up on the history (ah the history.) On a page you write of Winger's (all-inclusive) creating 'sensory overload'. For this granny more use to the dry records of the ancient past. Your modern prediction is right on:)
