This essbase issue we are observing frequently, EXCEL-Add In is not showing any data (data as well as structure) after a retrieval. Any one has idea what is the reason for it or how to resolve this issue ?
Thanks in advance

No, when you have the option 'Navigate without data' enabled, you will be able to see the structure.
The issue what I am talking about is, when we have multiple excel files (connected to different Essbase application) open and doing retrieval on say nth file, it won't retrive data as well as the structure on that nth file.
When we have only one file open (one instance) retrival is not a problem.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance

Just disable the excel plugin from the spreadsheet and enable it again. Test after this.
This may be an issue due to the plug-in. When we had a similiar issue, we did it and it worked.

I have seen this frequently (or at least it sounds like what I have seen). The issue may be that you have more than one Excel.exe running concurrently and Essbase is "confused", for lack of a better term, and doesn't know which file to retrieve. Try going to Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and go to the processes tab. Sort on processes and make sure there is only one listed Excel.exe. If there is more than one I haven't found a good way to determine which one to end, so I usually end them all (after saving any modified files) and start over. This seems to occur if you have an Excel file open and then click the Excel icon in your Start list, or any shortcuts on your desktop.
Hope it helps,
Ed

Despite differences in versions and methods of implementation, I think we can help each other out in solving some of the challenges that our companies face, and hopefully help each other to benefit from networking.
In closing: consultants monitor and may respond to posts on this forum. They can offer valuable advise. If possible, please consider commisioning them if your company requires assistance. If in doubt, validate all advice directly with Hyperion.
