Connecting to Essbase Server 9.3.1

I use system 9, Analytic Server has successfully started. I am unable to connect to the Essbase Server that I created in EAS (called Essbase1). The error log message is:

Error: 1042003: Network Error 11001: Unable To Locate Essbase1 In Hosts File

The server and client are all installed locally on my computer, and I deployed the Analytic Server successfully via Shared Services using the Configuration Utility.

It has been suggested that connecting to the Analytic Server via the IP address rather than "Essbase1" would resolve the issue, but I am unsure how to do this, or if this truly will resolve the issue. If anyone has a suggestion, please assist.

Thank you.

Despite differences in versions and methods of implementation, I think we can help each other out in solving some of the challenges that our companies face, and hopefully help each other to benefit from networking.

In closing: consultants monitor and may respond to posts on this forum. They can offer valuable advise. If possible, please consider commisioning them if your company requires assistance. If in doubt, validate all advice directly with Hyperion.
Thanks
