Charly's Desk
Due to the fact Shawn, Belle, and Phillip are now engaged in a full-blown triangle, it’s time to sit down and examine a few things…
Like the rules…
1. Standing rule: There will be no bashing of any actors.
Period. End of story. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.
2. There will be no bashing of the writers or the directors or the producers.
This is their job. This how they make their living. You can comment that you don’t like the storyline or what the writers are doing to the characters, but there will no negativity towards Jim Reilly, Ken Corday, etal., directly. We don’t want to see anywhere: “Reilly is a jerk! He’s horrible!” etc. Think of it this way—would you want Jim Reilly coming to where you work and saying you’re a jerk and you’re horrible. Don’t think so.
3. There will no excessive bashing of the characters.
This has come after long consideration and thought on our part and also due largely in part to the fact that it’s become overwhelmingly abundant on so many other Days boards out there—Shelle and non-Shelle related. What we tend to forget is that when we “bash” the character—as we see them on our screens—we are in a sense “bashing” the performance—the work—of the actor. This is their craft. This is their livelihood. Just like the writers and producers, this is their job.
It’s fine if you don’t like a character or what is happening with your favorite character, but before you comment on it or express your thoughts, take a moment and consider the feelings of the actor portraying that character should he/she happen to see your post.
Don’t forget—several of the actors and staff at Days do frequent the boards.
All we ask is that you chose your words carefully.
The SBFC does and will always welcome all and any opinions of its posters. However, we have seen negativity towards the actors, the crew, and the characters get “out of hand” on other boards. This memo is just to curb an escalation—present or future—of the situation on this board before it occurs.
Hey, the last thing we want to do is to have to reprimand any of you…
Small little thing, too…due to the fact that some people are still using dial-up with slower connections, we need to cut back on the number of sig banners. They are all wonderful pieces of art and do show off the talent of so many, but when you have forty-two sig banners in your post, it takes a helluva long time for the page to come up for some! With that, we’re asking that you cut your sig banners down to two banners per post. You’re more than welcome to change your signature every so often, if you like.
And finally, please remember to use the Clubhouse board to discuss anything related to Clubhouse. We want people to start using that board more, especially since the show has started airing.
Thanks for listening!
