Waterfront - Part 1: Melanie comes along and sees a glum Brady sitting on the bench. He tries to tell her he's not good company but she pushes forward. From the look on his face kind she's assuming that saving Nicole's marriage didn't work out. Brady tells her it was just a matter of time. Nicole built this house of cards. It was just a matter of time before someone said the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person. Melanie - So who said the wrong thing? Brady - You're looking at him and the cards - they've come crashing down. Melanie thought saying the wrong thing at wrong time was her specialty. Brady doesn't think she could top this. She asks if it was a slip of the tongue. It was more like a bad connection. He then tells her when she calls someone and there's a lot of static and she's
not sure who answered - hang up. She tells him to tell her what happened. He says that she knows he was lying for Nicole, protecting her, keeping a secret for her. Melanie says yeah and it's pretty clear if you'd do that, you'd do pretty much anything for her. He would and he did even though it was a horrible mistake but he kept on doing it. Melanie knows that whatever he did he did out of love. He's not really guilty of anything. Brady tells her it doesn't work like that. It does in her book. Tell her what happened. Brady tells her that a couple of weeks ago Arianna overheard him talking to Nicole and she figured out that he was keeping a secret for Nicole. Melanie doesn't think it was very nice of her to eavesdrop. Brady says she didn't mean to - besides it was fault for talking about it in a place where he could be overheard. He panicked and called Nicole in Paris. EJ picked up the phone - he didn't know it was him because of the static. Melanie - And you blabbed everything to EJ which put him on high alert. What was the secret? Brady figures that since it's out he can tell her. He tells her that Nicole got pregnant with EJ's baby which was miracle because she was told she couldn't conceive. She lost the baby and it was quite far along - it was awful. She was terrified EJ would leave her so she decided to fake the rest of her pregnancy. He knew all about it and he helped her pass off another woman's baby as her own. He went along with the whole horrible lie so she can understand why he feels a little responsible for a lot of people's misery right now like Nicole, even EJ's and the innocent baby that isn't even their baby. He shouldn't have agreed to any of it. Melanie tells him he can't think this is his fault. If he hadn't helped Nicole would have figured out a way to do what she did. Melanie tells him he's being too hard on himself. It's not like he pushed Nicole to lie. She would have found a way to adopt Sydney with or without him. People like Nicole don't give up on things - if it wouldn't have been you it would have been someone else. Brady knew from the beginning that it wouldn't end well. He told her that it was going to blow up in her face but she didn't want to listen. She cried and begged - he was a coward. He enabled her to do it. He saw she was being self-destructive and he didn't do anything because he didn't want to break her heart. He saw how hurt she was losing the baby - he couldn't force her to do anything because he knew if EJ found out he'd leave her and she'd have no husband, no baby. He didn't want to see that happen to her. Melanie says his heart was in the right place - he's a good friend. Brady is going to go for a run to clear his head. Melanie is going to go with him. He tells her no - he's going alone. He'll be fine - he'll score a little coke - he's just kidding. He's not going to do anything stupid. Melanie tells him to call him - she's on his side.

Maggie's house - Part 1: Mia opens the door to Nicole - she's just on her way out. Nicole doesn't care. She's in trouble. She needs a favour - not for herself but for Syndey. Her future depends on it. Nicole barks at Mia to pay attention to her - the message she got on her cell is not important. What matters right now is Sydney. She knows they want nothing more in the world than for Sydney to be happy. Mia agrees. What is going on? Nicole - It's out. The truth about Sydney. EJ found out about the adoption and that she lost her baby and that she tried to pass off Sydney as his own. He was devasted and furious and he said he wanted her and Sydney out of the house and he never wanted to see them again. It doesn't mean a thing - don't worry. He'll be fine. He just needs to get his bearings. She's going to make him see things differently. She's going to convince him that even though Sydney is not his biological child she is his daughter - the best thing that has ever happened to him. When he realises she is right he'll come around. He'll understand why she did what she did. She did it for love and then he'll take them back into his home and heart. Which is why she needs Mia to stay quiet. Mia - I'm sorry Nicole but I can't do that. She won't keep her mouth shut and Nicole can't bully her into it. Nicole asks her if she wants Sydney's life to be ruined. Mia states with EJ knowing the truth her baby's life is going to be no better than the one she would have given her. Nicole scoffs - you're still in high school - you don't have a penny to your name. The only reason Mia gave up her baby was because she believed she would be raised in a secure, loving home and that's obviously not the case anymore. Nicole says it can be with her help. She has it all under control - all she needs is for Mia not to talk. EJ loves Sydney more than his own life and she knows he won't give up on her. Mia - Maybe not her, but what about you? Is EJ going to give up on you. Nicole promises that she and EJ will work things out. He's smart and savvy and he'll figure out a way to forgive her because she knows he won't be able to live without his daughter. Mia - That means I have to keep lying. Nicole tells her that she has been up until now. Mia can't believe it turned out this way. Nicole tells her it's not the end of the world - just keep quiet and it will resolve itself. Mia doesn't think so. Nicole asks why she's upset. Because she just gave up the sweetest guy in the world to be with Chad so he wouldn't go digging around trying to find out who adopted their baby. Now the truth is going to come out - she broke up with Will for nothing. Nicole says no. She won't let this fall apart. She's sorry that Mia had to make a huge sacrifice by giving up Will but they had all had to make sacrifices for Sydney - that's what parents do and that precious little girl is worth it. She begs Mia not to screw this up.

DiMera mansion: EJ looks at a picute of Sydney and mopes. He looks at Sydney's baby album and sniffles. He tries to work - gets up and sees a picture of the once happy family - I can't stay here.

Sami's place: Sami leaves a message - Nicole was there for her when she needed help so she'd like to help if she wants it. Roman knocks on the door. She lets him in - what's going on? Ari shows up - she came here as soon as she got Roman's message. Sami - Oh god, it's about Rafe, isn't it? Roman says no - nothing on Rafe yet. Sami says it's at least not bad news. Ari asks if they're here because he found something on Meredith Hudson. Roman says from what they can tell it's kind of like she disappeared. He's checked around within and outside the jurisdiction - it's like she disappeared into thin air. Ari thinks it's strange she's not in Salem anymore when she came back to fix up her parents house so she could rent it out. Roman tells them she had an appointment to the show the house to some potential tenants but she never showed up. Sami asks when that was. Roman - The day after she got that email from Rafe. Ari knows that Meredith did something to Rafe - the way she was talking about him - she blames him for Emily's death. Sami tells Roman Ari is right - this woman is bitter and angry. Ari adds - Not to mention a little bit crazy. She didn't think much about the way she was acting the last time she saw her but now that she has disappeared too ... Sami jumps in. The timing is very suspicious. She just disappears the day after he sends us both those emails. Roman agrees with them but he's sure wherever Rafe is he okay's - ex-FBI, a tough guy - he can take care of himself. Ari hopes he's right. She's got to get to work. She and Sami agree to call each other if they hear anything. Sami tells her dad that she thinks Ari is right. She's really starting to get concerned. She knows he sent her an email explaining everything but for him not to call his sister - she doesn't think it's like him. Roman tells her she's right. He's so sorry she's this is such a tough time for her. Sami - The more time that goes by the more I think that something has really happened to Rafe. Sami is talking to herself. She has to stop obsessing. It's like Dad said, he's a grown man. He can take care of himself. She throws her keys into her bag. There's something wrong. I have to figure out a way to help. She leaves.

Brady Pub - Part 1: Bo reads the paper - Lawrence Alamain's Killer Still At Large. Justin comes in and apologises for being late. Bo says his message was a bit garbled - all he got was Brady Pub 9am. Justin says - poor signal. He was out of town and he called him when he was on his way back. He went to see Hope. Bo asks in an unpleasant tone of voice - Did Hope ask to see him or did he invite himself? Justin reminds him that he's only here to help the two of them. Bo does - he's just a little put off because Hope hasn't contacted him yet and he actually got to spend some time. Justin saw her because she wanted some help with a legal matter. He hands him an envelope - She wanted me to give you this. Bo grimaces. Outside the pub Chad calls and leaves a message for Mia - he'll swing by after his cross-country meet. Bo opens the envelope and breathes a sigh of release - for a second there he thought they might be divorce papers. He looks at the papers -
Hope wants to transfer Ciara to a private school. Justin tells him that Hope thinks the trauma Ciara experienced has made her very fragile. She's done some research and this school has the resources to handle it. Bo - Public schools don't have resources? Justin thinks it's more than that. He thinks that Hope feels Ciara will be safer in a private school - that the school she is enrolled in now is too accessible. Bo says that makes sense. Where do I sign? All I care about is my wife and daughter. I want them home. I sure as hell don't want anything else to come between us. The camera pans to the newspaper headline. Bo tells Justin to tell his wife that he signed on the dotted line without resignation. He only cares about Ciara and his family. Justin says it might be better if he told her that himself. Bo would if she would take his calls, his texts, his emails, his carrier pigeons ... Justin looks at the headline - he heard about this last night. This guy had a fairly deep reserve of enemies, didn't he? There's no mention of Carly though. Bo thinks she's probably in seclusion - she lost the love of her life. Justin thought ... Bo says no. Any relationship he had after he thought Hope was gone wasn't complete. He and Carly were close but his heart only belonged to one woman - his Fancy Face.

Omar's boat: Omar brings coffee and asks if she slept well. No. She's a hunted woman. Lawrence's men won't rest until they find his killer and since he said any communication would betray their location she probably won't rest until landfall. Omar will make breakfast. After he leaves Carly sighs - I just hope that I can get to Bo in time and that he'll help me. Carly is looking at some documents when she hears the ship's horn sounding - she asks Omar what's happening. The captain's spotted a body in the water. Carly - Alive? They're not sure. Carly tells them to bring him aboard. Omar tries to caution her ... she tells him she can't be worried about her security. She took an oath - if they can save this poor soul's life please ... After Omar leaves Carly wonders if it will absolve her for taking another. Carly listens for a heartbeat and asks if he can hear her. She starts mouth to mouth on Rafe. Rafe starts coughing. Carly tells him she's a doctor. She starts unbuttoning his shirt - does he know how this happened to him? She tells Omar that he's hypothermic. They have to get him into dry clothes, cover his head - she knows warm compresses, not hot and some blankets - quick! Omar asks if they should move him. She says no - it may cause his heart to stop. She tells Rafe that he's not going to die - she's not going to let that happen. She checks his pulse - it's thready - they're going to have to take him to a hospital. She doesn't care what the risks are he has to go to a hospital. She asks if he had ID on him. No. She tells Omar to call the nearest hospital and tell them they're coming - his condition is hypothermia and possible concussion. She holds Rafe down and tells him they're going to get him some help - keep fighting. Omar asks how he is. Carly says not good. His pulse is irregular. Rafe stops shivering. She rolls him on to his back - don't do that - she starts chest compressions. I didn't fish you out of the river to let you die - you've got to fight. Be strong - I'm not going to lose you.

Hope's hotel room: Ciara asks Hope why she's packing. Because she knows how much she misses her Daddy and she thinks it's a good time to go back to Salem. Ciara hugs her - I wanna go home. Hope knows she does. Hope puts Ciara's hoodie on and tells her to put her shoes on. Ciara wants to draw her Daddy a picture first. Hope gets a call from Julie. They're leaving in a little while - she's sure he'll be thrilled to see his little girl - me, not so much. She'll call when she gets home. Hope calls out to Ciara to not forget her toothbrush - they're leaving soon. She looks at the picture Ciara drew - Our happy family.

Brady Pub - Part 2: Chad is talking to Will about how well Will did - he's going to be voted MVP and ruin his season record. Will - Who the hell cares - it's not like you're competition anyway. Chad is sensing some hostility. Will asks him why he keeps trying to start something now. He gets that he and Mia are together. He's happy for them - they really deserve each other. Chad didn't realise Will was so angry. Will sarcastically asks what there is to be angry about. Mia broke up with him and 2 minutes later she's back with Chad. Chad smirks - he should have expected it. What Will expected was for Chad to at least have the decency not to gloat. Chad wants things to be cool between them and maybe he can understand that he and Mia have this connection. They went through a lot and it just feels natural - they're into each other. Chad leaves. Will - There's no way Mia is still into that guy. Something else going on - I know it.

Inside Justin asks Bo if he's going to call. Yeah. The reason he and Hope work is because they communicate. They're always pretty open about their feelings. Justin says they'll get through this - he has to go. Bo calls Hope - she was just going to call him. He asks how she's doing. Fine - and him. Okay - he just talked to Justin. He had the papers for Ciara to be transferred to that private school. He signed them - if she thinks that's what is best for her it's a good thing. He wants what is best for her and their baby. When is she coming home?

Ari is on the phone ordering 6 kilos - ASAP. Melanie comes barging in - what's her problem. Ari doesn't know what she's talking about. Mel tells her she just ran into Brady and he's a complete wreck. Ari asks what happened. Mel - Apparently you did. Ari still has no idea what she's talking about. Mel tells her that she opened her big mouth about when she heard Brady and Nicole talking about the miscarriage - now all hell has broken loose. Ari feels bad - she didn't mean to cause him any pain. How is this any of her business. Mel says Brady is her friend and now Ari has completely screwed up his life. That wasn't her intention. Mel says it doesn't matter - it still happened. It becomes her problem because Brady is the best guy she knows aside from her brother. Ari - You think I don't that? Mel says she
wasn't thinking about it when she went around betraying his confidence, screwing up his life ... Mel walks out. Outside Bo continues his conversation with Hope. Hope tells him she is coming home. It's for Ciara - that's why she made the decision.

Waterfront - Part 2: Brady is finished his run - he watches a drug deal go down. Brady talks to himself - You'll be fine. Call your sponsor or something. Go to a meeting - accept responsibility for your part in it. EJ comes up from behind. Good idea. Why don't you accept responsibility for some of the things you've done. Your timing couldn't be better because as it happens I'm looking for somebody to blame. I'm not just talking about Nicole - I'm talking about anybody that had a hand in destroying my life.

Maggie's house - Part 2: Mia wants what is best for Sydney too but ... Nicole says if she wants what is best for Sydney she needs to keep quiet. Nothing has changed as long as she doesn't say anything. Mia accuses Nicole of threatening her. Nicole isn't - she's trying to get her to consider ... Mia yells 'You're telling me not to say anything like I'm some pathetic little girl you can push around'. Nicole tells her this is about Sydney not her. Mia - So you've said but I have to think about Chad too. How do you think he'd feel if he found out my rehab counsellor adopted a baby. Chad slams the door behind him announcing his presence in the room.

Cemetery: Sami brings flowers and puts them on Grace's gravestone. I knows you're up in heaven watching out for us all the time. I feel you ... everyday. Today I had to come because I had to ask you for a favour. I'm hoping you can keep a special eye out for your Daddy. See, I don't know where Rafe is right now but I've been really worried about him and I know you can take good care of him. Just make sure he's okay - safe and happy.

Preview: Nicole to Mia - Mia, Sydney is not your baby. Sami talking to Grace - I just want him to be happy. Carly to Omar (as she's checking Rafe's pulse) - He needs all the help he can get and if I don't think of something soon it might be too late.
