| Prison visiting room - Part 1: Marlena - I want you to think about what you just said. You've been here nearly 4 years. You think you haven't changed? Nick - No. I mean plenty has changed Dr. Evans but it's nothing I did. It's that these past 4 yrs have changed me. When I got in here I was still strung out. All I could think about was Melanie, my old life, how things could never get better. But they saw something in me here that I didn't see in myself. They trusted me. They gave me a chance. They said I'm a better man than I was when I came in here. Marlena - Who is that man? Who is Nick Fallon?
Chad's place - Part 1: Dan responds to Mel's question about why he's not reaching out to Jen by saying this is not about Jen and it's sure as hell not about him. It's about you. I've let you down and that will never happen again. There's nobody more important to me than you. Do you understand that? Mel - You didn't let me down Dad. Chad didn't know where I was. Nobody really did. Dan - Well I should have known. Mel - You were busy saving lives. I'm lucky to be sitting opposite you. I'm thankful listening to all of your wonderful fatherly advice which I will of course probably ignore as is a daughter's perogative. Abigail's not as lucky. Her dad's not there. She's not going to be able to hug him or ask him questions or get advice from him. And you know what else, Abigail and Jennifer are really close to Nick and they're going through so much right now. If I have the chance to bring family there to help them how am I supposed to say no to that?
HTS - Part 1: Nicole - Daffodils. You never bought me those. EJ - You preferred red roses I recall. Nicole - Did you know that I used to spend hours in the garden with Sydney watching the spring flowers bloom. And my dear departed mother said that daffodils mean new beginnings. Well good luck with that EJ. EJ - Actually I had no ideas daffodils represented a fresh start. I suppose it's rather fitting though. You've heard the news. Nicole - You mean the terrible news that Stefano is not dead. EJ - No, the wonderful news that I'm innocent. Nicole - Oh EJ, you are a lot of things but innocent is not one of them. EJ - You really thought I did it, didn't you? Nicole - I didn't think twice about it but I know you could have and you would have if you felt it was in your best interest. I know better than anyone what you're capable of. Excuse me. EJ blocks her path. You look very healthy. Nicole - Is that another way of saying I'm fat. EJ - It's just that you're a lot further along than the last time I saw you. Nickie, I know I've been somewhat preoccupied with my father's disappearance but you should know I haven't forgotten. Nicole - Forgotten what? EJ - That I have my own little mystery to solve. We have to determine whether that's my baby or Rafe's.
Police station - Part 1: Sami comes into the office and sees someone crouched down behind the table getting something from a drawer. Excuse me, I'm looking for EJ DiMera. Rafe stands up - You've got the wrong guy. Sami - You sound angry. Rafe - I have work to do. Sami - You don't like it that I'm here to see EJ. Rafe - No not exactly, not after everything that he did to us. Sami - So this is about the past. Rafe - I'm not going to police your love life. I have real work to do here. Roman comes in. I was going to call you but both of you will be glad to hear this news. All the charges against Will have been dropped. Sami - That's amazing. How come? Roman - Technically he was held a couple of minutes too long before the charges were filed so the DA figured the conviction would be overturned on appeal so why waste everyone's time. Sami hugs him. Daddy, you are the best. Thank you. Roman - Thank you for that but don't thank me, thank Rafe.
Brady Pub - Part 1: Bo and Hope get up and greet Abe and Theo. Abe - Theo could not decide what to wear. I think he wanted to impress a certain pretty young lady. Ciara smiles at Theo - Wait until you see the chocolate cake my grandma made. Hope tells Abe it's delicious and gluten free. Ciara - It will give you a great reason to eat your broccoli. Theo - I love broccoli! Have you ever tried broccolini. They take off hand in hand. Bo jokes - We're going to be in a lot of trouble in a couple of years. Hope - He likes broccolini. What's your secret? Abe - Like Lexie said, if he grows it with his own hands he's going to think it's delicious. Hope - I'm glad you could make it. We've missed our family dinners. Abe - I miss them too. I was telling Jennifer it's amazing what you can get through when you know someone's depending on you. Theo looks up at me with those big brown eyes and Lexie's smile and I know we can make it through. Bo - Not only can, you will make it through. Abe - I worry being at loose ends ... no job and what I'm going to do with my time. But it's a blessing in disguise; I get to focus all my attention on Theo. Right now he needs me so much. Bo - In the end it's all about family. Maggie comes in.
Police station - Part 2: Roman steps out of the room to take a call. Sami - I don't know how to thank you. Rafe - Glad to do my job. Also glad to help Will. Sami - Even though you don't approve of what he did. Rafe - Well he's damn lucky EJ was innocent. I don't think the DA would have been so quick to drop the charges. Then there's you of course. Sami - I did what I had to do to protect Johnny and Sydney's father from going to prison for a crime he didn't commit. Rafe - Sure and if Will would have to go jail, oh well? Sami - He's an adult and as much as I hate it he does get to make his own decisions in life. Rafe - Well I guess it all worked out then, didn't it? Sami - Lucas is still furious with him, with both of us. Rafe - Can't say I blame him on that. Sami - Of course not. It's just hard for Will because he's close to his father. Rafe - So you're telling me you're available, back on the market? Sami - No. Rafe - Good. Just so we're clear, I did that favour for Will not for you. He walks out.
Chad's place - Part 2: Dan - You have such a big heart and I admire the hell out of the way you are dealing with all of this. But you were just kidnapped ... Mel - I don't want to be a victim. I'm so different now then when I first came to Salem. I mean everything that happened with Nick made me a stronger person. I have to make something of this. I'm not going to live my life in fear. It's not that I wouldn't be relieved if Nick didn't get paroled. Dan gets paged. Mel tells him he can answer it. I'm fine. You helped me face some things. She hugs him. I love you. Dan tells her to take care of herself. He tells her to lock the door - she will. After he's gone she unlocks it.
Prison visiting room - Part 2: Nick - Who am I? Uh, I'm a guy who loves his family. That much will never change. I love to learn and I'd like a chance to make a difference in the world. Marlena - Go on. Nick - I know that I have to take responsibility not just for the past but for every moment in my life, present and future. Marlena - You may decline the offer to go before the parole board, why is that? Tell me about your feelings for Melanie Jonas.
HTS - Part 2: Nicole - Are we really having this conversation again. There is no question about the paternity of this child okay. Dr. Jonas said the results of the paternity test are 100% accurate. EJ - Not at University Hospital. Nicole - OMG. Goodbye EJ, have a nice life. He stops her from leaving. I'm sure I don't need to remind you I love my children with a vengenance. You lied to me about Sydney. Do I need to remind you about what happened. If you even think about repeating that egregious error you have no idea what the future is going to hold for you. Rafe walks up - Is there a problem here? EJ - Oh look, it's Det. Baby Daddy to the rescue. Rafe - Did he hurt you? Nicole - I'm fine. EJ - We were just having a little chat, that's all. Nicole - Well it's been real. She turns to Rafe - I'll see you this weekend. We'll go nursery shopping. Rafe - Just give me a call. She leaves. EJ turns to go ... Rafe - Not so fast there Elvis. Nicole places a call to Dan and leaves a message. I ran into EJ, he's out of jail and asking a lot of questions about the baby. God only knows what would have happened if Rafe didn't show up. Please call me back. I'm scared of what will happen to you and to me if he finds out the truth.
Brady Pub - Part 2: Hope - How are you doing? Maggie - Hanging in there. Hope - I'm really worried about you. Maggie - I'm fine, it's Melanie who's not. Hope - I know this is very hard for you because you also love Nick very much. I'm not trying to influence you in any way, I promise you, I just really wish you could see the progress he's made since ... Maggie - I have seen it. Do you really think I haven't been visiting him. Hope - No I know you have. Maggie - I realise he's doing very well where he is right now but life on the outside has it's own pressures and stresses. Hope - Of course it does. Maggie - And I know better than anyone once an addict, always an addict. And that's going to be a constant struggle for him. I want to be there to help him but you have to understand that Melanie is my granddaughter and I didn't know that when all this happened. She grew up in terrible circumstances and I wasn't there to help her, to love her. So you see after everything she's been through these past months I need to know that the changes we both see in Nick are real and lasting.
Prison visiting room - Part 3: Nick - Melanie's not the one who got me in here. That's all on me. She asked the judge for leniency. I owe her for that. Marlena - Is that why you're thinking of cancelling the parole hearing? Because you think you owe her? Nick - After what she's been through I can't stand the idea of causing her anymore pain. Marlena - You still care about her. Nick - As a friend. I wish I could undo the past but I can't. All I can do is try and be the best man I can be when I get out of here. Marlena - IF you get out of here. Nick - I'm not trying to be a martyr if that's what you think. I'm just a guy who did a lot wrong who's now trying to do what's right. Whatever happens will happen.
Police station - Part 3: Roman returns and asks Sami - Where's Rafe? Sami - He left. Roman - What are you doing here all by yourself? Sami - Dad, I don't know. Roman - Can we talk for a minute? Sami - Of course. Roman - Sami, what were you thinking? You were willing to take a bullet for a ... Sami - Don't say murdererer. Roman - So you're still defending him. Sami - Well he didn't kill Stefano. Roman - He tried to ruin your life. Look Rafe is ... You went on the run with him. You were willing to make your kids orphans for him. Sami - I knew I wasn't going to get shot cause I knew the guy holding the gun wasn't the type to shoot first and ask questions later. I'm glad you're okay. Roman - So am I. Can I ask my question? Sami - Shoot. Roman - When it comes to men don't you think you could do better than EJ DiMera. Sami - Okay I will answer your question if you let me ask you one first. Why were you looking for Rafe? Roman - I just wanted to let him that the paperwork came down reinstating him to the force. Sami - That's amazing. I'm surprised that EJ went for it. Roman - Oh I pushed this through when EJ was on the run. Rafe is one of the best cops I've got. Sami - Except for the time you had to fire him. Roman - The stuff with Carrie was pretty messy but the bottom line is we're dealing with a corrupt mayor here and I need all my big guns and one of those would be Rafe with his FBI background. Sami - You don't have to sell Rafe to me. Roman - Okay, then why not Rafe. Look, I'm trying to understand this. Would you please explain to me what the hell you're doing with EJ DiMera. Sami - I don't know. I mean I can't explain it. There's something there with EJ, there always has been and I've always tried to deny it and I'm just gonna see what happens, follow my heart. That's who I am. Roman - And if your heart leads you to trouble? Sami - Which it probably will, then I'm very lucky and grateful to have family who loves me and will be there for me when I need them.
HTS - Part 3: Rafe - So you got out on bail. Now what? Back to the business of running this town into the ground. EJ - I'd watch what I say if I were you, I'm still your boss. Rafe - Not if you're in jail. EJ - Why don't we examine that for a second. I'm falsely accused of a murder of a man who is still alive. I'm charged with fleeing a justice system in the wrong. If the DA decides to pursue this case he's going to look like a fool. Rafe - You may think you can get away with obstruction of justice, rigging a mayoral election, even kidnapping someone every few months but you will not bully a pregnant woman, not on my watch. EJ - I absolutely understand you standing up for the mother of your child. Can I ask you a question. Now that Carrie's gone and Samantha's well ... you must be at loose ends. I understand that you and Nicole are just friends and you pledged to raise this child as your own but a woman like Nicole drives happiness away. I don't see any hearts, flowers or happiness in your future, do you? Rafe - I had no idea you were so interested in my love life but I'm going to pass on any romantic advice you have to offer. Although I do have some advice for you, stay away from Nicole. EJ - Or what? Rafe - Well you keep harassing the mother of another man's child not even you will be able to hold on to the job of mayor of this little burg. You're going to lose that just like you've lost everything else that matters in your life. EJ - If you excuse me I have to go and see my two lovely children, Johnny and Sydney. Remember them. If you wouldn't mind just stepping aside. Rafe stands put so EJ is froced to walk around him.
Brady Pub - Part 3: Hope - Do you really think Marlena's going to have a different opinion than the prison psychriatrists because they all said the same thing. Nick is ready. Maggie - I know but I think I'd be more comfortable hearing it from a dear, trusted friend. Hope - I understand. Maggie - It may not make any difference in the end. Nick is talking about cancelling his parole hearing. Hope gets a call. She steps away to take it. Marlena comes in and joins Maggie. I'm happy to tell you that I concur with the psychiatrists who've seen Nick. I find him to be a healthy, well-adjusted young man. The fact that he was willing to cancel his parole hearing tells me a lot about him. He's sensitive to the pain he's caused Melanie and he's also willing to pay for his mistakes. I know it would be a lot easier for you if it was more clear-cut, if I could say to you that he should not be paroled. It would be easier on Melanie too, I know that. Maggie - I'm torn. I want what's best for Nick, I really do. Marlena - I know you wanted me to put your mind at rest, I'm afraid I've done the opposite. Maggie - Yes. Marlena - Do you want me to talk to Melanie? Maggie - Yes Marlena, that would make me feel so much better. Just know that she's thought this through. Marlena - Of course. Maggie - Please don't tell her I asked you to. Marlena - You didn't ask, I volunteered. Maggie - Thank you so much. Marlena - I just hope this turns out well for everybody involved.
Hospital - Part 1: Dan and Nicole are near the nurse's station. Nicole - Wow, poor Melanie. Dan - I try not to take this overprotective father thing too far. I know she needs to make up her own mind but yet feel like I support her no matter what. Nicole - She's so lucky to have you. You're an amazing father. Dan - I don't know about that. Nicole - Well I do because kids need to be protected. Anything could happen to them and if anyone tried to hurt my baby the way Nick hurt Melanie you could bet I'd want that person to rot in prison forever.
Prison visiting room - Part 4: Nick is surprised to see Hope come in. I wasn't expecting to see you. I can guess why you came back. Hope - Julie just called me. She's very upset that you're thinking of cancelling your parole hearing and so am I. Nick - Thank you for caring. Hope - Of course I care. Nick - Even if I tell you my mind's pretty much made up. Hope - Nick, everyone has said you're ready to get out. You're no longer a threat to society. What are you so afraid of? Nick - Maybe I'm not a threat to society but to Melanie, she's been through hell. If I come out, what's that going to do to her? Hasn't she suffered enough? Hope - You know I've been exactly where you are. I did terrible things under the influence of drugs. It was hard to trust that I could go home to my family and be well. But I did. Nick - Thank God. Hope - I also know what it's like to be on the inside. All it takes is one bad day to break you, to set back all the progress you have made. 18 months, that's a lot of days Nick. Nick - Believe me I know. Hope - Instead of wasting them in here you could be home making a new life for yourself surrounded by people you love, people who love you, people who need you Nick.
Chad's place - Part 3: Mel lets Marlena in. So who told you to come? Was it my grandmother, my dad, Chad? Marlena - None of the above. Mel - Really? Marlena - Really. I just thought you might want to talk to somebody who's not involved in all this. Mel - Yeah. I can't let myself be treated like a victim because then I become a victim but I'm scared. Marlena - Of course you're scared. Mel - But I'm tough. I've been through so many things, I'm going to be fine. Marlena - You are going to be fine. Mel - It's just that so many people I love, they love Nick too. So I don't know which is worse, knowing Nick is free or that I'm the one that's keeping him in prison. Thank you for listening. Marlena - Anytime. Mel - I don't suppose you could tell me what to do. Marlena - I can tell you one thing you need to do. Stop caring about what other people think. Mel - How do I do that? Marlena - The only way you can make this decision is to figure out what you need and what you can handle right now. Mel - I think it's the right now that's getting me because it would freak me out to have Nick be free but maybe I could ask the parole board for a little more time. Marlena - I'm afraid that's not an option. If Nick doesn't get parole tomorrow he has to wait 18 months. Mel - 18 months.
Hospital - Part 2: Nicole tells Dan about running into EJ at the Town Square. He was so hostile. He really scared me. Dan - Are you okay? Nicole - I am this time. Now that he's been cleared of murder charges he has one thing on his mind. He wants to know if this kid is his or not. He's going to find out. Dan - He's not going to find out. I'm going to help you through this. Nicole - I know. I'm worried about you because if you get caught he won't just take my baby from me, he will try and get his revenge on you too. Dan - That's not going to happen. Nicole - How do you know? I'm scared to walk around town alone. I'm afraid to go back to my hotel room. What am I going to do? Dan - Actually I have an idea.
Police station - Part 4: Bo comes into the office and congratulates Rafe on the promotion. I'm not sure you deserve it but hey you fooled 'em. Rafe - Thanks. Fake it til you make it. Bo - I'm thinking Roman was afraid he was going to lose you to the ISA. I'm glad you're sticking around. I'm sure if you look around long enough you'll find someone that agrees with me. Rafe - Well thanks. You know I love my job. It's great. I've made some great friends, a few enemies. Guess that comes with the territory. Bo - You got that right. Every cop in the precinct is an enemy to the DiMera's. Rafe - Except for the ones they've got in their pockets. Bo - Yeah. But for some of us it's more than just a job, it's personal. That's why I'm glad you're with us because I know you won't quit until this job gets done.
Sami's apt - Part 1: Sami opens the door to EJ and lets him in. I was looking for you. I went to the police station and they said you'd been released. I guess you're here to see the kids. EJ - Yes but first I want to say thank you. He hands her the flowers and then spouts Nicole's line that daffodils symbolize new beginnings and adds yellow is your favourite is colour. The kids come in to greet their daddy. Sami beams (I roll my eyes). Johnny and EJ won't share their game - boys only. Caroline comes in - Well Sydney do you think it would be fair if I took you for ice cream and left Johnny with his game. Sydney does. Johnny doesn't. You promised if we were good. Caroline caves - she takes them both. Sami - You be good for Grandma. Caroline to Sami - You be good too. EJ suggests that now that they're alone they take a minute to talk. Sami - Sure. EJ - I left you a message earlier. Sami's phone died, she didn't get it. EJ - I just wanted to say that a few days ago I didn't think I had anybody in the world on my side. Sami - I know what that feels like. EJ - Except you and your son. I would just like you to know that I'm deeply grateful. Sami - Okay. EJ - I wasn't able to show you then because I had to leave the safe house, I was hoping that I could show you now.
Hospital - Part 3: Dan gets down on one knee and takes her hands in his. Nicole, I don't want to keep this a secret. Nicole - What secret? Dan - This thing between us. EJ is going to be suspicious no matter what right. The most important thing to me is you, protecting you and that baby so I think it's best for all of us for you to move in with me. Nicole - Really? She snaps out of her fantasy. Dan - Are you okay. You seemed like you zoned out there for a second. Nicole - So you said you had an idea about how to keep me and the baby safe. Dan - Actually I have a couple of them. I just realised I have a consult to get to. I'll come up with some ideas and get back to you as soon as possible. We are going to figure this thing out. Do not worry. I will always have your back. Nicole - Thank you.
Prison visiting room - Part 5: Hope - I understand the guilt you have over what you did to Melanie believe me, I understand it better than you could ever imagine. But I will say this, you wouldn't be this considerate of her feelings if you hadn't come a very long way. I truly believe the world out there would be a better place with you in it. Don't you?
HTS - Part 4: Johnny asks if they can get more. Caroline - More? All you did was eat the sprinkles and the cherry on top. Johnny - Mommy and Daddy didn't get any. I wish they came with us. They're home all alone. Rafe hears this.
Sami's apt - Part 2: Sami thinks she should put the flowers in water. EJ thinks not. He kisses her. |
