Response to Love In The Spotlight

Chapter Eleven

Monday
7:18 p.m.

"So where is this place we're going?" Shawn asked as he sat next to Belle in the back of her limousine.

"You'll love it. It's called One Sixty Blue. Great food and wonderful atmosphere!" she raved. "And before you ask, yes we'll have privacy," she teased him and playfully pinched his cheeks.

Laughing at her antics, he blushed slightly. "I really don't care if we have privacy. I'd be honored if people saw me with such a wonderful lady."

"Shawn you are too sweet," she smiled brightly.

"Ugghhh," he groaned disapprovingly.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't like that word. It's the word women use before they're about to say they just want to be friends."

"I think you know I don't want to just be friends with you."

"How exactly would I know that?" he asked mischievously.

"Guess you'll find out," she flirted.

"Don't I get a little clue?" he smirked, leaning closer to her.

"Nope," she grinned and slid down the seat away from him. "No sneak peek," she teased. Soon the car stopped. "Besides, we're here!" Simon, the driver quickly opened the door and Shawn slid out then extended his hand to Belle as she got out. They walked into the restaurant hand in hand. Once inside they were immediately seated in a private area of the popular restaurant. They received instant service, ordering a bottle of wine and appetizers before choosing entrees.

"This is a nice place. Thanks for inviting me."

"You are more than welcome. I think this is sort of the perfect place to wind down from the day. I hope it hasn't been too much excitement for you," she teased.

"It was just the right amount, although something tells me today was pretty tame for you. Next time don't hold back." He gave her a sexy smirk and took his glass of wine to take a slow sip. His eyes stayed locked on hers as he drank slowly and he became spellbound by her blue gems. Every time he looked at her he became lost in her. His dark, consuming gaze made her blush and look away shyly. It was unusual for Belle to become so bashful, but there was something about that dark gaze that affected her in every good way possible. So good it made her body tingle. So good it was almost too uncomfortable for her to handle. He put down his glass and he continued to look at Belle, unable to take his eyes off of her.

Finally, getting the nerve to look at him again Belle smiled and took a sip of wine herself to calm down a bit. "So, are you saying you want there to be a next time? Are you sure you can handle it?"

"I think so."

"So tell me something. Back in the limo you said you didn't like to be called sweet."

"You're right. Triggers bad memories of my unlucky love life," he partially joked.

"I think that's interesting. I would never expect you to be the type who'd be unlucky in love."

"What would make you think that?"

"It's just something about you that ... I don't know. Just call it a hunch. So, have you ever been in love?"

Shawn practically choked on his wine at the question and quickly gained his composure. He got over the shock of the question and replied sincerely. "I think so."

"How many times do you think you've been in love?"

"Well, maybe twice. I've dated a number of girls over the years but I can basically say I've only had two girlfriends. Those were two lengthy relationships. I loved them both but I can't say either were like the one, you know? I don't think back on those times and wonder what could have been."

"How long were those relationships?"

He thought for a moment. "Let's see. Liz and I started dating in college. We were together for about 4 years but the last year was long distance. I was working on the soap and had to move to New York. It never really worked out after that with her in California. Then there was Marisa," he sighed.

"Sounds like a lot of baggage with that one," Belle commented as his countenance appeared to change.

"There was. That ended almost two years ago and she didn't take it all that well. The following year was stressful because she kind of went psycho after I ended it. We were together about two and a half years. She expected us to always be together but I couldn't see that. It just wasn't right."

"You really impress me Shawn."

"Why? How'd I do that?"

"You've been in two really significant relationships. Would you believe the longest relationship I've ever had has been eight months."

"What's been the problem?"

"You mean is it me or them?" she laughed lightly. "A combination of both. Being in the public eye all the time it's hard to meet people first of all which I'm sure you know. Then when I do meet someone not in the business they usually get jealous over what I do and it never works out."

"What about people in the business?"

"I have better luck with them, but most times they're too absorbed in what they do and are too concerned about their image. A lot of times I just feel like a trophy."

Shawn slowly inched his fingers towards Belle's hand that rested on the table. Soon their fingers touched, playing with each other and intermingling. With a warm smile, Shawn looked at Belle. The gentle intensity of his deep brown eyes consumed her. "What are you looking for in a relationship?" he asked softly. His voice was so low and gentle it melted Belle instantly.

"What do you think I'm looking for?" she smiled. It seemed like the perfect test.

Never taking his eyes off of her he responded confidently. "You're looking for someone who respects you and what you do. A man who is his own person and will never use you for his own gain. You want a man who will never ask you to change or compromise your ideals to make you feel like less of a woman. You need a man who values a committed relationship and all the hard work that goes along with staying together through good times and bad. Am I close?"

"Mm-hmm," she replied with a lazy smile. "Now where do you propose I find this person?" she flirted.

"I don't think you need to look far," he replied assuredly and held her hand gently, yet firmly in his own. "Belle, we can't deny this attraction we have for each other. I know I can't. It may be crazy to think we can do this. We don't live in the same place. You travel a lot and I work crazy days and travel a lot, too. It seems like we have a lot of things not in our favor ..."

"But we have one very important one. We both want to see where this can go."

"Right," he agreed growing more excited at where this conversation was going. "Ever since Friday I haven't been able to stop thinking about you. I want to know all there is to know about you. Belle you do something to me that I can't explain."

"I feel the same way Shawn. I really do. We have the next few days together I say we make the most of it."

"I couldn't agree with you more," he smirked then raised her hand to his lips and kissed it softly.

8:12 p.m.

Brady and Mimi walked into the relatively busy restaurant, both eager to start their evening together, especially Brady.

"Mr. Black it is so good to see you again. You're table is ready."

"Thank you Jeffrey. It seems like a pretty busy evening."

"It is sir. Unusually so for a Monday night."

"I hope finding a private table for Ms. Lockhart and me wasn't too difficult."

"Not at all. Not for you sir, even though it would have been a little easier if your sister had not called a few hours requesting a private table, too," he said with a light chuckle.

"My sister? Belle is here?" he questioned and looked at Mimi who shrugged at hearing the news.

"I thought you knew."

"My sister and I live pretty separate lives Jeffrey. Anyway, I guess we'll have to say hello," he grinned mischievously at Mimi.

"She must be with Shawn. No wonder you couldn't find her today," she laughed.

"Let's have some fun shall we?"

Soon, the two walked arm in arm through the restaurant. Both recognized a few people in the popular spot and exchanged pleasantries, but continued to follow Jeffrey toward the back to surprise Belle and Shawn.

"This has got to be the best food I have ever had!" Shawn raved. He moved his fork aimlessly around the plate picking up the variety of food in front of him. "This is fabulous. You're so wonderful for suggesting this."

Belle laughed at his eagerness. If there was one thing Shawn liked it was a good meal. She could easily tell this little tidbit about him. "I'm glad you like it. You'll probably want dessert, too," she added suggestively.

The change in the tone of her voice did not go unnoticed by Shawn and he looked at her with a sexy smirk; a look Belle already loved to see. He spoke so much just by his looks and the fact that he gave her that smirk so often pleased her beyond belief. With an emerging grin he began to speak. "I ..."

" So how are you two doing this evening?" Brady announced, interrupting Shawn with his overly exuberant tone. His presence startled them both and the look of shock on both of their faces fueled Brady even more.

"Brady?" Belle asked surprised, then looked to see Mimi standing next to him. "Meems? What are you two doing here?"

"Out for dinner," Mimi explained. "But we're surprised to see you two here." She looked over at Shawn and smiled. "It's good to see you again Shawn."

"Same here Mimi," he grinned and then looked at Brady somewhat awkwardly. "It's good to see you too Brady."

"I'm sure. Anyway, what are you two kids up to? Belle you've been MIA since you left the office this morning. What have you been doing?"

"If you must know, Shawn and I spent the day together. We went to a county fair and a few other places and now we are enjoying dinner .... alone," she added in an annoyed tone to clue Brady in to leave.

"Sounds great!" He looked over at Mimi who was waiting for him to make his next move and his grin widened. Looking back at Belle he continued. "Why don't Mimi and I join you two! The place is busy. No need wasting another table when we can make room."

"Brady," Belle sighed.

"Belle simmer down. I'm sure Shawn won't mind," he said and looked around. "Hey Jeff? We can just join them. No need to ..."

"Brady," Belle interrupted in a tight voice. "You've had your fun now go."

"Sister I'm hurt," he mocked offense. "Maybe I want a chance to get to know Shawn a little better, too. You would deny me that?" he pouted.

"Bye Brady," she said flatly and rolled her eyes at his weak attempt to be upset.

"Alright Tink," he laughed. "But we'll talk later."

"I'm sure we will. You two have a good time."

"I think we'll be able to manage that, once I get your brother to leave you alone," Mimi smiled and began to pull on Brady's arm. Eventually he budged and they went to their table to leave Belle and Shawn alone, but most importantly for them to get a chance to be alone.

Shawn looked over at Belle who was clearly bothered by her brother's poor attempt at being funny. "Is he always like that?"

"You mean is he always a dork? The answer would be yes."

Shawn chuckled at her response. "I meant is he always protective like that," he clarified.

"You thought that was being protective?" she asked stunned by his observation. "What we just witnessed was Brady's attempt at being subtle," she laughed. "But to answer your question, yes he is always protective of me, though he's not so bad now. When we were younger he was horrible. The only thing missing was the lie detector and bright light beaming down on the poor guy. Brady would interrogate them to no end. I quickly brought an end to that so you have nothing to worry about."

"I'm not worried," he said confidently. "There's nothing he could do to stop me from wanting to be with you."

"You are too amazing."

"I could say the same about you," he winked. "Now eat up, your food is getting cold," he said changing gears before she felt compelled to call him sweet or gush over him in an unnecessary way. "By the way, what's the story with Brady and Mimi?"

"I have no idea. I think Brady likes her but he won't tell me and as for Mimi I couldn't tell you. That girl has so many dates I can't keep up with her. Our senior year in high school she had a huge crush on Brady but that was so long ago. God, I don't even want to think about how long ago that was," she laughed.

"It couldn't have been that long."

"You flatter me."

"No, seriously. How long ago was it? You know I don't even know how old you are. Look, I'll make it easy on you. I'm 28." He looked at her eagerly waiting for an answer.

"I'm not telling ... yet. You'll find out Friday."

"Why what's happening Friday?"

"Friday is the 21st."

"The 21st?" he asked puzzled and then it clicked what she was saying. "Right, it'll be October 21st. I don't get it."

"That's my birthday. Just know it's a big one and Brady and Mimi have arranged for a big bash at the club so I of course expect you to be there," she smiled.

He picked up the almost empty bottle of wine and refilled her glass and then his to finish it up. He raised his glass and motioned for her to do the same. Their glasses clinked against each other. "I wouldn't miss it for the world," Shawn told her in a low voice that sent chills up and down her body. They both took a sip from their glasses, neither one of them taking their eyes off of each other as their deep gaze spoke volumes to one another. They were having the time of their lives.

Chapter Twelve

Wednesday
10:12 a.m.

"What is this crap?!" Jason yelled. He was visibly upset as he walked into Shawn and Philip's trailer on the new location for Chicago Force for the day. "I Jason Masters, hands down the sexiest man I know can't get any lovin and you two ... especially Shawn are dating the finest women in all of Chicago! How in the hell did that happen?!"

Shawn and Philip looked at each other after listening to Jason's outburst and the two immediately started to laugh hysterically.

"What is so freakin funny? Do you understand what this is doing to my reputation?"

"Jason you have no reputation," Philip said. "Whatever reputation you do have is because your sorry ass hangs out with us all the time. You're always in our publicity shots!" he laughed.

"This is great! Kick a man while he's down," he lamented.

"If you insist," Shawn joked. "And what do you mean 'especially Shawn'?" he asked.

"You know what I mean."

"No. Enlighten us," Shawn urged.

"Yeah, you sexy beast!" Philip howled.

"Ok, now you're making fun of me. I don't need to take this," he huffed.

"Oh poor baby," Shawn teased.

Jason rolled his eyes and sighed loudly. "Forget it," he said solemnly. "Shawn your interview is here. You want to talk to her outside or bring her in here."

Shawn looked at him with furrowed brow. "You had her waiting out there all this time so you could whine? You're an ass," he grumbled and got up from his seat. "I'll talk to her out there."

"Sit down," Philip told him. "You have your interview in here. I'll take Mr. Reputation out for a pep talk," he joked.

Moments later a woman walked into the trailer. She was fashionably dressed in a navy blue pantsuit. She appeared to be all business. Her light brown hair was wrapped neatly in a bun. Her features were quite attractive, but her serious expression indicated to Shawn that she was probably annoyed by how long it took for him to see her. Getting up from his seat he extended his hand to introduce himself to her and try to ease the already rough meeting.

"I apologize for the delay. My manager took a while to tell me you were here. Please come in and make yourself comfortable."

"Thank you Mr. Brady. I am Veronica from Celebrity magazine."

"Veronica please, call me Shawn. It's good to meet you," he smiled warmly as they sat down at the small table in the trailer.

"Very well Shawn." She settled down and removed some items from her bag. Revealing a tape recorder, "you don't mind if I tape this do you?" she asked.

"Not at all. Can I offer you something to drink before we get started?"

"Water would be great."

Shawn got up and grabbed two bottled waters from the small refrigerator. Soon he joined her back at the table and the interview began.

She picked up the recorder and pressed the small button on the side. Raising it to her mouth she spoke into it. "Interview with Shawn Brady from Chicago Force. October 19." Placing it back down in between them, Shawn could see the tape from the small cassette spinning. "Well, first things first. How does it feel to be on such a successful television show?" she asked.

The interview continued for quite some time. Talking mainly about the show and his career. Shawn was enjoying his talk with Veronica who was far more friendly than he thought from his first impression of her. They talked about business primarily which he was happy about. The press was already to pick up on the increasing amount of time he had been spending with Belle, but Jason had been doing a good job of keeping the rumors from spreading. It was now refreshing that Veronica had not mentioned it, but he knew it was probably a matter of time. Much to his dismay, she did not disappoint in his assumption.

"Shawn, there have been reports of you and supermodel Isabella spending time with each other. Would you care to make a comment?"

"I was waiting for you to ask that," he sighed. He sat back in his seat and thought about the best way to answer the question. "Well, if I don't make a comment the rumors will spread so I will say this much. Yes, we have been spending time together. We have become good friends since our meeting last week and we have also decided not to discuss what we are or what we aren't to each other with the press."

"I respect that. But please remember me when you do decide to discuss it further."

"I will keep that in mind."

"Well, Shawn that is all I have. Thank you so much for your time."

"You are more than welcome. Thank you for being gentle," he laughed.

Soon, Veronica walked out of the trailer leaving Shawn behind. His thoughts quickly ran to Belle. The time they spent together last night at an all-night diner of all places that was filled with college students. It was a place she used to frequent years ago when she was a student at Loyola. The place didn't seem to change much since, except now instead of students frantically reading and writing by hand, the booth tables were filled with laptops. He and Belle had found a corner booth in the back and talked and laughed all night over coffee and some of the best pie Shawn had ever had. He couldn't get enough of her. Everyday with Belle was so different. The ideas she came up with and the places she thought of going to amused Shawn and excited him as well. She opened his eyes to a new world of possibilities and they had not known each other yet a week. What would happen past a week thrilled him already.

Philip and Jason walked together through the downtown set. Philip virtually ignored the screaming fans who were gathered behind the gates blockading the set. His attitude toward them was far less appreciative than Shawn's approach and it did not bother him one bit. When it came to fan events he was very eager and willing to talk to fans but at times like this the occasional yells did not phase him one bit.

"So how was last night with Mimi?" Jason asked anxiously.

"Can't you tell?" he grinned arrogantly.

"You dog!" Jason laughed and smacked his arm happily. "Next to Isabella, Mimi's the next best thing!"

"She is the best thing Jason. There's less notoriety than Isabella so there's no competition. I can't very well date someone more famous than me, now can I?" he chuckled. "Besides, I have fun with her. She's good to know while I'm here so I don't have to see your mug all the time. There's no future beyond that but while I'm in Chicago I'm going to spend my nights with her."

"Doesn't she have a problem with that? You know how women are sensitive about these things?"

"We're not talking love here Jase. We're talking merely physical here. No feelings are hurt this way. She knows it as much as I do."

"You're seeing her again tonight right?"

"You know it buddy."

Belle walked into Style of Choice Designs and burst into Mimi's office without talking to her assistant or anyone else.

"Belle what in god's name are you doing storming in here?!" Mimi yelled.

"What in the hell are you doing to my brother?" Belle snapped.

"Wait, did you and Brady decide to switch roles with the protective thing," she joked sarcastically. She looked at Belle angrily and rose from her seat to be eye level with her dearest friend who was now fuming. "You mind telling me why you barged in here?"

"Mimi, you know I don't judge the way you live your life, but when it comes to my brother I just can't be quiet."

"What your brother and I do is none of your business Belle."

"When you're also seeing Philip, it is my business," she told her plainly. "No one hurts my family. I make sure of that and whoever does has to answer to me," she said seriously. Her usual tranquil gaze was dark as she stared at Mimi. "Even if it is my best friend," she snarled.

"Look Belle, Brady and I are friends. We're also adults so let us handle this. You know I date a lot of men. Why does this bother you now? Because Brady is one of them? He knows how I live."

"I don't want you stringing him along Mimi. He has feelings for you and I don't want him to get hurt."

"He has feelings for me?" she asked surprised. "How do you know?"

"Don't worry about how I know but you remember what it was like when he was with Chloe. I don't want the same thing to happen to him again. Don't do this to him unless you're serious about giving him a chance. He is trying to move on and for whatever reason he wants to try it with you."

"Why do you have to make it sound like I'm such a bad choice?!" Mimi asked angrily.

Belle looked at her smugly. "Prove me wrong Meems," she replied. She swiftly turned on her heels and began to walk out of Mimi's office. "See you at the party Friday!" she added brightly, letting Mimi know there were no hard feelings ... yet.

12:17 p.m.

Shawn was resting on the couch in the trailer reading over his script when he heard a light knock on the door. Calling out to the visitor to come in he opened his eyes to see who was there. A wide grin spread across his face at the sight of Belle walking in, holding a big brown bag.

"Have you had lunch?" she asked, smiling brightly as she walked in and quickly closed the door behind her.

Shawn got up from the couch and walked towards her, taking the bag from her. "No I haven't," he replied. Resting the bag down on the table he turned around and wrapped his arms around her waist to bring her close. "Thank you," he whispered and lowered his lips to capture hers in a lingering kiss.

"You're welcome. So do you have any time?"

"I have until 1:00. I'm all yours until then." He kissed her once again. With short nibbling kisses he tasted her, amazed at how sweet she was. He could not get enough of her, and as she grew more receptive to his kisses he knew the feeling was definitely mutual. "Hmm...," he moaned and began to chuckle as their kisses grew more playful. "So what did you bring me?" He turned his attention back to the table and started to rummage through the bag. Belle stood next to him. Her fingers slowly moving around his lower back as she watched him get excited at the sight of the huge deli sandwiches she bought. "You're the best!" he said excited and kissed her on the forehead.

They set up lunch on the small table in the trailer. Sandwiches, chips, and drinks were on the menu and Shawn delved into the food happily. "How do you find all this great food!" he mumbled in between chews.

Belle laughed at his enthusiasm. "It's an awesome neighborhood deli my father loves. I make a point of going there every time I'm home for any length of time.

"You sure do know how to make a man happy," he observed before attacking the second half of the sandwich.

"Is food the only thing that makes you happy?"

"Not by a long shot," he replied with a wink. They continued to eat and enjoy their brief time together until their scheduled time for that evening.

Chapter Thirteen

Friday
6:26 p.m.

Shawn stood in front of the full length mirror, looking over his appearance. He was beyond nervous and knew that tonight was all about first impressions. Running his hand over his face to feel his stubble free cheek, he then swept his fingers through his hair, making sure every strand was in place. He took a deep breath as he continued to examine his appearance. It had taken him forever to settle on wearing his navy blue suit. The crisp white shirt was tucked in perfectly into the dark blue pants which were cuffed perfectly, flowing down to his black leather shoes. He searched through the few ties he had with him and once again had another dilemma. His thoughts were soon interrupted by a knock at the door and he hurried to get it.

A bouquet of roses were pushed into his face the moment he opened the door. Looking past the flowers he saw Jason grinning widely. "This is a first," Shawn laughed. "Sorry, I'm taken."

"Ha. Ha. Ha." Jason laughed dryly and walked into Shawn's suite. "You know these are for your date. All of a sudden I'm your errand boy."

"You've always been my errand boy."

"I don't get paid enough for this abuse."

"You get more than enough, now tell me which tie," he said raising the two options up to his shoulders so Jason could get a look.

After a brief moment Jason pointed to the more solid colored tie and Shawn quickly lifted his collar to put it on.

"You know, I don't get it Shawn. You've known Belle for all of a week and you're already meeting her parents. Don't you think that's a bit hasty?"

"It's not really a 'meet my parents' visit Jase. It's her birthday and her parents are having a dinner for her. Sort of a social thing. She asked me to be there," he explained as he finished tying the tie around his neck. Straightening it up he looked back at Jason who nodded in approval. "Anyway, man I need to get going. Thanks for getting the flowers for me." Shawn continued to hastily move around the suite and grabbed his suit jacket. Slipping it on he checked himself one last time. He grabbed his coat, wallet, hotel room key and the flowers. "See you and Phil at the club tonight," he said in a rush and walked out of the room with Jason following behind him.

"Have fun meeting the parents!"

7:01 p.m.

The cab pulled up in front of the magnificently large house of mansion like proportions settled in a cozy neighborhood in a northern suburb of Chicago. Paying the driver he grabbed the bouquet and slid out of the taxi to make his way to the front door of the fabulous home. The moment his finger left the doorbell the door opened revealing a distinguished looking white haired man in a very traditional butler uniform.

"Good evening," he spoke in a very refined voice that added to his very stereotypical persona. "Welcome to the Black Estate, who may I ask is calling?"

Shawn was taken aback at how formal this man was with him and he suppressed every urge to just erupt in laughter. This was going to be an interesting evening he thought. "I'm Shawn Brady. Belle invited me."

"Please come in sir." Shawn walked in and gasped at the sight of the grand entrance. It was more magnificent than most hotels he stayed in. He knew Belle's father was wealthy but this type of wealth was unimaginable. Even though Shawn had plenty of money himself, the amount of money John Black obviously had could not be comprehended.

The butler took Shawn's coat and escorted him to where the others were gathered. Growing more nervous he soon calmed down when he saw the familiar head of golden curls in the distance. The butler announced him to the group gathered and Belle quickly turned her head to see him. Her bright smile radiated the room and her eyes widened in amazement as she took in the sight of the gorgeous man for whom she had rapidly growing feelings. He looked tremendously handsome in his suit and he looked adorable, clutching on the huge bouquet of roses in his hand. She walked to him happily, excited he was there for her.

"I'm so glad you made it."

"I told you I wouldn't miss it. Happy birthday Belle." He handed her the flowers and she happily took them, breathing in their wonderful scent.

"Thank you Shawn."

"You're welcome," he smiled and grew amazed at how wonderful she looked. "You look so beautiful Belle," he said in barely a whisper and their eyes locked for a moment. Neither could speak, but their gaze communicated more than words ever could. After a time, Shawn broke the silence. "Now am I allowed to ask the birthday girl how old she is today?"

"I guess I could tell you," she began.

"Izzy B?" John called from behind and approached her. "Are you going to introduce us to your friend?" he asked curiously.

Belle turned around to face her father. She slipped her hand around Shawn's left arm, letting her fingers slide down the soft material of the suit down to his hand and their fingers soon laced. "Dad, this is Shawn Brady. Shawn this is my father, John Black." She looked up at Shawn proudly. John could not help but notice how Belle looked at him adoringly. He had never seen his Izzy B, look at another man quite that way before. He also knew that as determined and strong willed as his daughter was, she would not give up on the man he was now meeting.

"Shawn, it's a pleasure," John said in a more serious tone as they shook hands.

"Good to meet you sir. Thanks for having me. You have a fabulous home."

"Thank you but you'll have to praise my lovely wife. She is the one responsible for this place looking fabulous as you say." He looked around and spotted his wife nearby. "Darling, would you join us for a moment?" She soon joined John at his side. "Shawn, meet my lovely wife Marlena."

"It's wonderful to meet you Shawn."

"It is a pleasure Mrs. Black I was saying to Mr. Black how much I like your home."

"Well, thank you, but there is no need to be so formal. Call us Marlena and John."

"No, he can be formal," John added seriously.

"Daddy," Belle spoke softly in a whine that made John reconsider his words.

He sighed and gave Belle an endearing smile. "I'm kidding Shawn. Now what can I get you to drink?"

"I'll take care of it Dad. I want to show Shawn around first and put these in water."

"Oh, these are very lovely roses," Marlena gushed. "They will look perfect in the crystal vase we recently bought in Venice. Ask Franklin, he'll know where to find it."

"Alright Mom. We'll see you two in a bit," Belle said in a rush and dragged Shawn along with her back into the foyer where the butler stood. "Franklin, Mom asked that you put these in the crystal vase. Could you please place them in the dining room?"

"Of course Miss Isabella."

"Thank you," she smiled brightly and then led Shawn into the nearby den and closed the door behind her. "I am so happy you're here ... and just in time."

"I thought there would be more people."

"They should be arriving soon. They're all close friends of my parents. Brady can't make it because of the club."

"So I'm here to make this evening more bearable?"

"Something like that," she smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. He comfortably placed his hands on her waist and they leaned in for a sweet kiss.

"Happy birthday," he whispered. He captured her lips in a more lingering kiss which soon deepened. He held her closer to him. His hands splayed across her back as they kissed with growing passion.

"Wow," she gasped as their lips parted. "That was one heck of a birthday kiss!" she mused. "Have I told you how glad I am that you're here?"

He chuckled lightly. "You've mentioned it a few times, but it doesn't hurt to hear it. Now," he added and sang softly, "how old are you?"

"Have you ever dated an older woman?"

"No. Why?"

"You are now," she teased.

"What are you talking about?"

"Today is my thirtieth birthday."

"Thirty," he said with only a little surprise. "So we're dating now?"

"What would you call it? By my count we have officially gone out five times. I don't know about you but I call that dating."

"I guess you would know better than me since you are after all, older and wiser."

She smacked his chest and he laughed at her reaction. "You're not going to tease me mercilessly about this now are you?"

"What will you do to me if I don't stop? ... Mrs. Robinson," he added in a laugh. His comment was once again met with a swift smack on the arm.

"Shawn!" she yelled playfully, unable to stop laughing at his teasing.

"Come here," he growled. Cupping her face gently he kissed her, their lips tenderly locked together. Soon, their lips parted with short, quick pecks. "I thought you were going to show me the house."

"Is that what you really want to do?" she asked and brushed her lips against his.

"Not really but it'll look less obvious than just hanging out here. I don't want to create a bad first impression."

"If I'm happy, my parents are happy. They trust my judgment."

"So are you happy?"

"I will be," she whispered and kissed him sweetly.

10:05 p.m.

The limousine pulled up to the front of The Catwalk and the crowd waited for the door to open, revealing the newly arrived guests.

"We're here," Belle whispered as Shawn continued to kiss her neck softly.

He looked up at her and grinned mischievously. "Ready to enjoy your birthday?"

"What do you think I've been doing?" she asked with an arched brow.

He chuckled, appreciating her words. "Just make sure you save a dance for me."

"I plan on dancing with you all night."

"This night keeps getting better and better," he smirked. "So are you ready to make your appearance?"

"Just a second," she told him and guided her hands along his collar down to his tie and started to loosen it. "You don't need this anymore," she said as she slid the silk blue tie off of him and tossed it down on the seat. Her fingers then glided to the top button and slowly undid it. Her eyes met Shawn's chestnut gaze showing excitement and confusion. "You need to be more comfortable," she explained and proceeded to unbutton the next two buttons revealing a gold chain hanging around his neck. She slid her finger under the chain, lifting it up to reveal the crucifix that was hidden under the white ribbed tank he wore underneath his dress shirt. "Do you always wear this?" she asked curiously, unable to keep her eyes off of him.

"I'm a good ol' Irish-Catholic boy. It never leaves me."

She raised her eyes to look back at him. "Do you feel more comfortable?" Her voice was throaty, laced with seduction.

"Extremely."

Belle gently placed her lips against his for a soft kiss. "This has been the best birthday I've ever had."

"Something tells me it's going to get better."

Belle then pressed the intercom button. "Simon please come around."

In a matter of moments the door opened and Shawn stepped out and extended his hand to Belle who glided out of the limousine effortlessly. Immediately met by a number of camera flashes, people from every direction were calling out their names. They walked together hand in hand, until they stopped to pose for a few pictures. Shawn let go of Belle's hand and slipped it around her waist to keep her close. "I usually hate this part," he muttered through his teeth. "But it's surprisingly bearable now." Belle leaned her body closer to him, wrapping her arm around his waist as they smiled and waved to the crowd. After a time they continued to walk to the club together to enjoy Belle's birthday bash, the night was only beginning.

Chapter Fourteen

Friday Night
11:00 p.m.

The pulsating club music in The Catwalk came to an abrupt halt and the dancing patrons stopped their movements in shock. All eyes looked up at the DJ's platform and eminent boos and hisses were quickly dissipated when the spotlight shone on Mimi holding the microphone in her hand.

"This is how I like it!" Mimi laughed. "All eyes on me," she joked and a rumble of laughter filled the club. The mood was now light as those present seemed to not mind that the music had come to an end. "Well you all are here on a very special night! Today is my good friend's birthday and we are throwing her a party!" she announced excitedly. The crowd erupted in cheers at the declaration. "Now, you all seem like the perfect group to celebrate this milestone. Are you all up to the challenge?!" Once again a thunderous boom of cheers filled the warehouse converted club. Mimi laughed at the exuberance. "Alright now at the count of the three let's sing happy birthday to my best friend in the world... Isabella!" Mimi pointed up towards the balcony and the spotlight left her and swung around, landing on Belle who sat beaming from ear to ear. She was unable to stop smiling.

"One! Two! Three!"

The entire club sang Happy Birthday loudly and exuberantly. Belle blushed tremendously and looked around to see everyone singing. As she surveyed the crowd she looked over at Mimi in the distance who was enjoying the impromptu singing a bit too much. She grinned widely and did a little dance to the song. Belle shook her head and laughed at her best friend's antics and then brought her attention to Shawn who sat next to her. He looked at her adoringly, singing more sincerely and less exuberantly than the crowd. Much to her surprise she could clearly sing him above the large crowd below. He sang to her sweetly and the action brought tears to her eyes.

The song soon ended and Mimi continued. "Happy Birthday Belle! I love ya! Now everyone ... LET'S PARTY!" she exclaimed and the DJ quickly started the music.

Shawn could see the tears shimmering in Belle's eyes and he smiled at her warmly. "That was pretty intense," he said softly. His fingers gently brushed against her cheek to offer her some comfort. Seeing her on the verge of crying affected him deeply and though he knew they were tears of joy, not pain he could not bear to see her cry. "I bet you've never had so many people sing to you at once."

"No," she said quietly and tried her best to prevent the tears from falling. She took a deep breath to regain her composure and smiled at him. "That was a first. In a lot of ways."

"Tink!" Brady called out as he approached his sister. Belle jumped up from her seat and gave her brother a big hug. "Happy Birthday Tinker Belle," he said happily.

"Thank you Brady."

"We've got something for you. Come on!" He took her hand to lead her away. Belle looked back at Shawn and gestured towards him to follow her.

Brady led Belle through the balcony to the back where a huge table was set up with the biggest birthday cake she had ever seen. A number of candles were lit on top and she gasped. "Brady whatever happened to the candles in the shape of numbers. It would have looked far less hazardous."

Brady laughed at her comment and only enjoyed seeing the thirty candles lit on the cake even more. "I knew you'd have a fit," he chuckled. "That's why I did it!"

Belle gave him a side glance but could not be upset with him. "You're a nut! So am I expected to blow all of these out?"

"After you make a wish," Shawn added smugly.

"Will you help me blow out the candles to make the wish come true?"

"I'll help you, but I can only help you with 28. I can't account for the other two," he laughed and once again his joke was met with a swift smack on the arm.

"I can do it by myself," she declared with a look of sheer determination.

Shawn walked behind her and touched her shoulders gently. His hands slowly roamed down her arms and soon captured her hands in his. Holding onto her hands, he brought them to the front so they rested on her stomach. He whispered in her ear, "I want to help make your wish come true." His lips lightly brushed against her cheek and he guided her lower. "Ready?" She nodded her head and they both took a deep breath, blowing out all the candles together.

The cake was quickly cut and the group gathered on the private balcony ate and laughed and continued drinking as the evening progressed.

After receiving a number of hugs and kisses from her friends, Shawn and Belle spent time together dancing and enjoying the evening. They walked away from the crowd to be alone.

"Is your wish coming true?" Shawn asked.

"Yeah," Belle smiled as she leaned in closer to him.

"Oh yeah?" he asked with an emerging grin. He leaned his head to the side as he made his approach.

"Uh-huh," she giggled. Their lips met sweetly and the kiss soon deepened. Their mouths opening and closing synchronously. Shawn held her closer to him. With a protective arm around her waist, his other hand cupped her neck gently and his thumb slowly stoked her face. They both were oblivious to the stares from the others on the balcony. They escaped to another place. A world where it was just the two of them. Belle curled her arms around Shawn's neck, and her fingers found their way to the soft hairs at the nape. No man had ever made her feel this way and she wanted to hold on to this feeling forever. It saddened her to know this was her last night with him. She was flying out to Europe the next day for a photo shoot. Neither wanted to talk about it so they decided to make the most of that night, and so they did.

"AHEM!"

Shawn let out a frustrated groan, instantly recognizing the source of the intrusion. As their kisses came to a slow stop, their eyes opened and they both glanced to the side at the same time. Next to them Jason stood with a huge grin. Every tooth was visible as he stared at them. Shawn knew whatever his friend had in store was going to be typical Jason Masters craziness.

"Can we help you?" Shawn asked annoyed at the disruption. He held Belle closer to him and she rested her head on his shoulder. Neither were ready to let the other go just yet, and they looked at Jason like they had been a happy couple for far longer than a week.

"I would like to wish the lovely Isabella a Happy Birthday," he declared. "Why should you be the only one to get a chance to give her a birthday kiss?" he asked plainly.

"I can give you a few reasons," Shawn smirked.

"I'm sure you can but need I remind you if it wasn't for me you would have never known about this beautiful lady."

"Is that right?" Belle asked amused by Jason's declaration. "I guess I have to thank you then Jason," she smiled.

"You can thank me with a dance," he said smugly and extended his hand to her. Belle gave him her hand and moved away from Shawn. "See that's what I'm talkin' about!" he said excitedly and the ridiculous grin reappeared. "Good luck trying to get her back after this buddy," he winked.

"I'm not worried," Shawn said confidently. He looked at Belle and their eyes locked for a moment. "Not worried at all."

Jason laughed. "We'll see about that!" and with those words he led Belle away. She turned her head to look back at Shawn, smiling brightly at him. She blew him a small kiss which he reacted to with a wink and sexy grin as he watched them disappear into the crowd for their dance.

Shawn was suddenly startled by a heavy hand resting on his shoulder He turned to see Brady looking at him with a eerily blank expression. "You two are awfully friendly."

"You could say that."

"I could say a lot of things, but I'd rather ask you a question Shawn."

"Is it about my relationship with Belle? Because if it is that's private."

"I recognize the honorability in that statement but you have to understand that I love my sister and I don't want anything to happen to her. I want to make sure that you aren't leading Belle on."

"I wouldn't do that to her Brady. I think I know why you're skeptical though. I'm not like Philip. You don't have to worry, because I will never hurt Belle."

"I'm going to hold you to that."

"You have my word," he said seriously, never breaking eye contact with Brady.

"You two look awfully serious!" Mimi said in her usual bubbly voice as she approached the two. "Loosen up it's a party!" she laughed and grabbed Brady's hand. "Excuse us Shawn," she smiled as she led Brady away to dance.

"Let me guess," Mimi began. "Big bad brother is in protective mode," she stated.

"I'm just making sure Belle doesn't get hurt."

"You have noticed that Belle can take care of herself haven't you?"

"I know she can. I can't help it, but believe it or not I trust this guy. There's something about him I like but don't tell Belle. She can't know I approve so early," he grinned.

Philip walked up to Shawn. "Looks like we've both been stood up."

"Not quite Phil. My date is coming back."

"Yeah, well Mimi all of a sudden got a conscience yesterday so our fun is over," Philip grumbled.

"If I didn't know better I'd say you were upset about it."

" A little disappointed. I can't lie to you. I was beginning to really enjoy her company. She's a great lady, and she deserves more than a fling. She has a better chance of happiness with Brady."

"Do my ears deceive me? Philip Roberts is giving up?"

"Look, a Roberts or a Kiriakis never gives up," he said seriously. "There just isn't a reason to fight for something I don't have a chance in winning. It's just that simple."

"Whatever you say."

"But you my friend have seem to have won the lottery! You and Belle are extremely cozy tonight. How was dinner with her parents?"

"Pretty good. It went really well, but you know I don't really feel like getting into it. I think Jason has spent enough time with her."

"No telling what that man may do with such a beautiful lady," Philip joked.

"I know. I think I should rescue her," Shawn grinned and made his way through the crowd.

"Isabella my love, I must say you're breaking my heart."

"Why is that Jason?"

"Because I had dreams of whisking you away, but looks like my buddy Shawn beat me to the punch!"

"You've had dreams about me? Are they dreams I want to hear about?"

"Not if you want to keep dancing with me," he chuckled.

"Then I won't ask," she laughed. "So Jason, how long have you known Shawn?"

"I've been his manager for going on seven years. We've been good friends pretty much since he became my client." He looked at her mischievously. "Would you like to know his deepest and darkest secrets?"

"Not the deepest," she joked.

Jason laughed and spun her around. "Isabella, you are a woman after my own heart. No wonder Shawn is completely flipped for you!"

"You think he's flipped?"

"Think? My dear I know! Trust me I know these things!"

"What do you know Jase?" Shawn asked as he approached the two, startling them both by his announcement.

Jason and Belle stopped their dancing to face Shawn. Jason looked at Belle with that same annoying grin and then back at Shawn. "You're a lucky SOB," he claimed, patting Shawn on the shoulder. "Isabella my love," he took her hand and kissed it. "It was a pleasure. My dreams will be far more interesting from this point on," he claimed bobbing his eyebrows up and down.

"I'm glad I could help Jason," Belle laughed.

Jason then walked away targeting the next woman he would dance with.

"What craziness did Jason talk to you about?"

"Nothing too crazy, although he claims that you have flipped for me."

"Really?" he asked intrigued. "Well for the first time he's right about something."

Belle sighed happily and wrapped her arms around his waist. "So how badly have you flipped?" she asked in a sultry voice.

"Let me show you," he growled and cupped her face. Crashing his lips down on hers he claimed her mouth in a searing kiss. They both moaned deeply as they kissed each other with growing passion.

"Shawn?" Belle called his name softly.

"Hmm?"

"I want to be alone with you tonight."

Shawn looked at her with the deepest gaze. His gentle brown orbs studied her closely, dancing with excitement, but a hint of concern was evident. "What about your party?"

"I was hoping we could have our own party. Remember Shawn, be spontaneous," she urged. "I'm leaving tomorrow, let's make tonight even more special."

He looked at her closely. His eyes studied her, searching for the slightest hint of doubt. Without a word he took her hand and squeezed it firmly. Calmly they walked through the dancing crowd and down the spiral staircase away from the balcony. In a matter of moments they were walking through the back door where the limousine was parked and they slipped inside.

"Where to Ms. Black?" Simon asked.

Belle kept her eyes on Shawn, and they gazed at each other deeply. "My penthouse."

Chapter Fifteen

Belle's penthouse
1:12 a.m.

Minutes after Shawn and Belle entered the luxurious penthouse, Belle disappeared into the bathroom to slip into something more comfortable. The moment she left him behind he eagerly unbuttoned his shirt, practically ripped off his tank he wore underneath and tossed them aside. Ok, calm down Shawn. He took a deep breath and picked up the clothes and neatly placed them on the nearby chair. Slipping off his shoes and socks he arranged them underneath the chair. His toes wiggled freely, moving around excitedly as he grew more anxious. Soon the belt from his pants joined the shirt and shoes by the chair. Unzipping his pants he slowly started to push them down. Shit! You had to wear the smiley faces! He cursed at himself silently as the bright yellow, smiley face boxers started to come into view. He zipped his pants back up. Ok, this is good. I'll look less eager this way. Shawn continued to give himself a mental pep talk and moved around nervously. An idea came to mind and he rushed out of the bedroom making a mad dash to the kitchen.

He frantically began searching through the kitchen cupboards for something to make the evening more special. "Ok, Champaign glasses," he sighed happily and removed two from the cabinet. "Alright she must have a little bubbly. Sophisticated lady like this must have the best. Even I have Champaign at my place," he rationalized and opened the refrigerator. His eyes roamed around the surprisingly well stocked fridge and soon widened when a bottle came into view. "Jackpot!" he exclaimed in a loud whisper. Grabbing the bottle in one hand he picked up the glasses in the other and he made his way back into the bedroom.

He walked in and breathed a sigh of relief when he realized Belle had not come out yet, he wanted to be in the bedroom when she emerged. He rested the items down on the night stand and became more nervous as he waited for Belle to make her entrance. Pacing around anxiously he continued to glance at the clock, noticing how much time had passed since she retreated into the bathroom. Growing more concerned he walked to the door and leaned against the frame. "Belle?" he called out to her softly, yet tentatively. "Is everything alright? Are you ok?" His questions were met with silence. "Um," he gulped nervously. "We don't have to ..." he was interrupted by the sound of the door open. The light from the bathroom filtered into the dim bedroom and Shawn's eyes widened in amazement as they fell on Belle standing before him. She wore a sheer light blue gown that accentuated every voluptuous curve and clung to her body, leaving very little to the imagination. Shawn was unable to speak and stared at her. Everything came to a stop. His blinking, his breathing ... his heart.

Belle blushed profusely at his reaction, but found herself equally enamored as he stood before her shirtless; his pants resting comfortably on his waist. Belle worked with handsome men everyday. It took a lot for her to be awed by a man's physique but she found herself entranced by Shawn's well sculpted body. His hardened pectorals and chiseled abdominal muscles were so inviting. She raised her hand to trace along the lines of his body. Her light touch seemed to bring him out of his semi-catatonic state and his breathing returned to its normal pace. Her hand continued to roam lazily across his chest. Her fingers grazed along the gold chain that hung around his neck. For the second time that night she found herself oddly drawn to the way the chain glistened against his tanned body. Now without the ribbed tank in the way, it hung freely, resting gently against his breast bone. Continuing her journey, her fingertips traveled down once again, running against the soft patch of hair that created a trail from his navel to the top of his pants. If all went the way she expected she would see where the patch ended.

Her fingers grabbed the edge of his pants in the front and with a tug she brought him closer to her. His eyes stayed fixed on hers as he gained control of all of his senses and without warning he crashed his lips down on hers in a hungry kiss. They moaned loudly as the kiss deepened. Their tongues tangled in a heated dance. Shawn's hands roamed up her back, his fingertips enjoying the silky material he lightly touched.

"You are ... the most beautiful woman I have ever seen," he whispered. Their lips met again but sweetly and slowly. It was a tender kiss, but more lingering.

Shawn guided his hand down to Belle's and held it gently. He led her to the bed and she sat down on the soft sheets. Soon gliding down she sat up as Shawn joined her. Softly he touched her face and kissed her sweetly. Their lips parted and he flashed her a sexy smirk. It was far sexier than any way he had looked at her previously. His eyes were darker, full of want and desire, but yet so comforting and warm. "I found a little something," he said in a low voice and turned to grab the bottle, displaying it to her. With an impressed look she encouraged him to open it and soon the cork was popped and he poured the Champaign into the glasses. He handed her one and keeping his eyes on her he clinked his glass against hers.

"To wishes coming true," she whispered and then raised her glass to her lips. Slowly she let the cool liquid glide down her throat, smiling as the effervescent bubbles slightly tickled her nose.

Shawn watched her intensely, his eyes never leaving her as they sat on the bed, facing each other. Slowly he rubbed her arm allowing his fingertips to gently touch her skin, leaving her skin electrified by the slightest caress.

"Belle, I know that you wanted to come back here but if you have any doubts don't be afraid to tell me. We may be rushing this."

"Shawn I asked you here for a reason. I want to be with you tonight," she replied sincerely. "Are you having doubts?"

"No," he quickly responded. A little too quickly, and he was instantly embarrassed by his inability to hide his eagerness. "No," he repeated more calmly. "I just ... I don't know," he sighed. "I don't want you to think I do this all the time. What I mean is, my experience is limited to the number of serious relationships I've been in," he confessed without any hint of embarrassment. He was not ashamed in anyway.

"I admire that Shawn and obviously making this type of step means a lot to you. We've been together a week and to me it might as well be a year because the feelings I have for you are so intense. I hate knowing that I'm leaving tomorrow and I don't know when I'll see you again but ..."

"Shhh..." he placed a finger on her lips. "Just know that tonight is only the beginning."

Belle smiled excitedly at his declaration and took another long sip of Champaign to finish what was in her glass. Shawn finished his glass and took hers. Placing the glasses on the table he turned to face her once again. His fingers brushed against her cheek and then cupped her face gently. He leaned in closer and their lips met softly. The kiss deepened slowly, both wanting to take their time to enjoy the moment of being together intimately for the first time.

Shawn continued to kiss her sensually, becoming more amazed at how sweet she tasted. He wanted nothing more than to kiss and taste her, to become lost in her beauty. His lips trailed down her neck. The hot kisses melted her into a helpless puddle in his hands. He continued his intimate kisses on her soft flesh and became more aroused and encouraged as she moaned softly. His hands moved slowly up and down her arms until finally making their journey to her shoulders. Slipping a finger under each strap of the light nightgown she wore he casually moved them down. He left a trail of kisses on one of her shoulders as it became bare. The silky material slowly began to slide down her body, staying in place only by her breasts. Shawn's eyes drifted down to the cleavage that started to come into view. The material slid down cautiously, lingering on her skin until finally in a sudden movement it slid down revealing her creamy breasts.

With a slow and deliberate approach he cupped her gently. His thumb flicked over her pert buds. His fingers expertly pinched and tugged and he hungrily captured her lips with his own, muffling her deep moans of pleasure. He guided her down on to the bed, continuing to kiss fervently. Her fingers swept through his hair, gasping as their bare chests pressed against each other. A wave of excitement surged through her body at feeling so close to him, at the moment she could not comprehend how being even closer would make her feel.

Shawn eased himself up on his arms, hovering above Belle. The smoldering look in his eyes left her feeling weak. His dark gaze consumed her, devouring her with their intensity. She could not keep her eyes off of his. They hypnotized her and their gaze locked on each other, never breaking as she felt Shawn's fingers trail down her side and roll down the sheer silky gown which clung to her body.

He lowered himself down to claim her lips once again with his own. Breaking the kiss he looked at her with a mischievous grin and then lightly kissed her. His lips began their descent down her body. Nibbling her chin and then softly kissing her neck, he wreaked havoc on her senses with his sensual nips and pecks. Her body writhed in delight as he continued his descent. His fingers continued to slowly remove the sheer gown, becoming more aroused as more of her body came into view.

The comfortable slacks he wore grew increasingly more uncomfortable. The moment was beyond heated. There was nothing he wanted more than to quickly undress, snap the flimsy clothing off her body, and plunge deep inside, making endless, passionate love. The ravenous, carnal beast within grew with every passing second and he hungrily kissed her. Fervently tangling his tongue with hers at a feverish pace.

Belle's hands roamed down his broad back, savoring the feel of his strong frame under her fingertips. Her hands slithered down around his waist, sliding around the waistline of his pants toward the front. Quickly her fingers unbuttoned his pants and grasped the zipper, sliding it down slowly and deliberately. Her hands sneaked inside, feeling his firm buttocks through the material of his boxers. She pushed down his pants as much as possible until he continued to take them off hurriedly, kicking them off the bed. Continuing to kiss passionately, her thumbs slid under the elastic of his shorts. She was far too occupied to notice the bright yellow, smiley faces that adorned his underwear. Soon, his boxer shorts joined the pants on the floor. Her fingers roamed down to his bare backside, squeezing his cheeks and bringing him closer to her. She wanted to feel him close, to feel how badly he wanted her.

Bothered that she offered the only barrier to feeling Shawn inside, Belle quickly pulled down the gown that was now rolled around her waist. She pushed it down her thighs, as far as possible. Squirming around to get the lingerie off, Shawn shared her anxiety and with a flip of the wrist expertly pulled it off, tossing it over his shoulder.

Their lips parted. Both panted breathlessly as their passionately filled gazes stayed on each other. "Belle ... where are they?" Shawn asked anxiously.

Belle stretched her hand over, finding the small package she handed it to him. Her lips began to brush against his neck as he got himself ready, almost unable to complete his task. She continued her perusal, driving him over the edge.

They both gasped as they joined as one. Time stood still. Shawn's methodical rise and fall of his hips made them rock together in a passionate rhythm. They loved each other sweetly, but their love making possessed a certain carnal, rawness that excited them both beyond belief. It allowed them to journey to a place neither had ever been. It was almost completely new. No experience had ever been like this before.

`*`*`*`*`

7:00 am

Shawn lay in bed sleeping soundly. The covers hovered around his waist as he slept on his back. One hand stretched out across the bed, the other rested on his well defined abdomen. Belle walked in to the bedroom with a wonderfully bright smile. In only a week's time she had fallen hard for him, and the way he made love to her made her know the feelings were definitely mutual. Prior to only hours ago she never really knew the distinction between sex and making love. Shawn had defined it so clearly by his gentle caresses, through his passionate kisses, and from the intensity in his chestnut gaze.

With a happy sigh she walked back to her bed, and carefully sat down, sliding next to him. He was too sexy for words. His tousled hair sticking up in unkempt tufts. A shadow of stubble adorned his face. Even, deep breaths escaped his slightly parted lips. Oh, those lips. Those pouty lips that kissed her long and hard. Tenderly and roughly. Teasingly and erotically.

She lightly kissed him, unable to resist how he looked. Emboldened by her actions, she brought her lips closer and as if by instinct he puckered his lips slightly, returning the kiss. His reaction further enticed and excited her.

A loud groan rumbled through his chest, signaling his wakeup. She touched his cheek gently and his arm outstretched on the bed moved toward her, his hand eventually finding her back then easing up. His fingers slowly swept through her hair as he became more aware of what was happening and grew more receptive to her morning greeting.

"Hmm..." he moaned lazily and chuckled. "Good morning," he said in a scratchy voice. His eyes showed he was still tired but the sight of her made him more excited and they possessed a gleam of playfulness.

"Morning," she said happily. Sitting up she looked at him brightly.

"Are you wearing my shirt?" he asked confused.

"I woke up not too long ago and wanted to get up, but keep you close. How do I look?"

"Sexy as hell," he said in a throaty voice. His eyes roamed up and down her body as she wore the white dress shirt. It only had two buttons buttoned , making the swells of her breast in clear view. "Now, why are you up so early?" he asked. "Your flight isn't until tonight. We should spend the morning together," he said with a mischievous grin.

"That's my plan," she smiled. "I just have a hard time sleeping in late."

"It's not late. It's 7:00 in the morning," he said groggily and reached out to her, bringing her closer to him. In a low growl he spoke and looked at her with a smoldering gaze. "Now let me show you the pleasures of being lazy in the morning."
