Hospital: Shawn, Mimi, Philip, Belle, Bo, Hope, Billie, Patrick, and Bonnie
Shawn and Philip come back in good moods...lol...
Shawn tells Mimi that once “his guys” are introduced to “her eggs”...and they do “drinks and a movie”...then it’s on to the next step.
Back flash to the hand switching the dish lids and making a victory fist.
Shawn tells Mimi that he is sure it will work out this time...it will happen for them...he can’t wait to have his first child with her. They hug.
Belle is excited that in nine months Claire could have a little brother or sister. Philip hopes so and hugs her. He looks past her and says that they may have a problem.
Billie isn’t thrilled that Patrick is at the hospital. He insists that if he turns out to be the baby’s father, then he wants to be there. Billie thinks Bo will go ballistic. That’s another reason Patrick thinks Hope will need him.
Hope and Bo are alone in her hospital room. She tells Bo that the ultrasound tests are almost underway and then they will figure out who is the father. Bo is positive that he’s the father and says he can prove it.
Philip tells Belle that even if Dr. Jaynes is the best, he can’t change the fact that he has low sperm mobility and the procedure might not work...Claire may never have a brother or sister. Belle pumps him up and tells him to stay positive. She’s sure that since they got pregnant before, it will happen again. Mimi listens from afar and murmurs that Belle and Philip didn’t get pregnant before...Belle and Shawn did.
Shawn hates waiting and suggests to Mimi that they go to the nursery and check out the babies. Mimi is hesitant. Shawn thinks it would do them good...give them inspiration. Mimi worries that it won’t work and might even result in them breaking up. Shawn thinks she is still upset about what happened last night. She denies it. He needs to know that she is 100% committed to bringing a baby into the world and tells her how much he loves her. She tells him that she loves him so much. Shawn is sure that everything will be fine as long as they keep communicating with each other...they’ll be together forever... till death do them part, unlike his parents.
Bo tells Hope that he doesn’t care what the doctors say, he is sure that Hope’s pregnancy is a sign that good things can happen between them again. He says even though it was tragic to lose Zack, and this baby won’t replace him in their hearts, he thinks that the baby is a gift from Zack to tell them that they belong together. Hope thinks it’s a lovely thought but counters by saying if it ends up being Patrick’s baby...is that a sign that she and Bo shouldn’t be together? Bo insists that they (he and Hope) belong together.
Hope doesn’t know if she can trust Bo ever again...doesn’t know if things can work out between them. Bo argues that things were starting to work out between them... She finishes his sentence by saying...and then he found out she was pregnant and reminds him of his reaction to Patrick maybe being the father... She thinks that Bo will never forgive her for sleeping with Patrick. Bo insists that it’s about Patrick and not her. Hope is sure that they will never look at each other in the same way and for many reasons...in her case...Billie just being one of them. She confronts Bo about having a baby with Billie and how when Chelsea came into their lives, he never once considered how their lives were turned upside-down. Bo listens as she says that he never thought she tried hard enough but she did...she tried very hard and look how it turned out. She doesn’t think Bo will be able to deal with it if Patrick turns out to be the father, and asks Bo if he will still want to work things through.
Billie questions Patrick. He tells her that he was with Hope just once but that since she hasn’t been with Bo for so long, there’s a good chance he is the father. They talk about him marrying Hope if it turns out to be true. Bonnie overhears and rushes over to hug him. She’s so happy that her little boy is going to be a daddy. He tries to talk reason with her but she just goes on and on about being a young grandma...going for the gold...etc... Patrick insists he isn’t marrying anyone. Shawn and Mimi walk in on the last part of the conversation and Shawn is shocked to find out his mom is pregnant.
Philip talks about the Kiriakis Foundation and how honest the specialist is. He and Belle talk about how much they love each other and that there is plenty of time to discuss other options if this one doesn’t work. Dr. Jaynes arrives and Belle asks if he has any news yet.
Bonnie puts her foot in her mouth again and gushes to Shawn that she could be a grandma and Mimi an aunt. Patrick explains that they don’t know yet...he knows Shawn is angry. Shawn tells him he’s not angry at him but at his dad...all his fault. He knows that Patrick was there for his mom, but knows that she wouldn’t have been on the island if it wasn’t for what his dad did. Mimi tries to get him to step back and not get involved. He tells her that he already is involved...his dad destroyed his relationship with his mom and their family. He wants to make sure that Bo doesn’t use the baby to work his way back into the family. He goes to talk to his mom. Mimi wants to go after him but Patrick suggests that she give him some time alone to work things out.
Bonnie takes Mimi and Patrick aside and tells them that once they both have their babies, they will have hit the Horton jackpot. She has dollar signs in her eyes. Mimi and Patrick roll their eyes.
Hope begs Bo not to do anything they will all regret, no matter what happens. He assures her the baby is his and that the pregnancy means they are meant to be together. Shawn bursts in swearing that no matter whose baby it is, after what Bo did to them, he is going to stay out of Mom’s life. He doesn’t think his dad deserves forgiveness. Bo argues that it isn’t up to him...tells him that they don’t know the paternity yet. Shawn hopes that Patrick is the dad. Bo can’t believe he wants that loser instead of him. Shawn argues that at least Patrick was there for her. Hope asks Bo to leave them alone to talk.
Bo looks at Patrick and tells Billie that Shawn prefers that loser to be the father. She says that Shawn is just angry. Bo says that Shawn doesn’t know angry.
Patrick tells his mom that he won’t take advantage of Hope...wants what’s best for her. Mimi argues that she loves Shawn and would still love him if his family had less money that theirs. Patrick agrees and goes to check on the ultrasound results. Mimi tells her mom that she hates lying to her husband and best friend and that as much as Bonnie screams and plots...their family still has nothing. Bonnie gets angry at the slight. Mimi calms her down but Bonnie still has dollar signs in her eyes
Dr. Jaynes explains that he hasn’t done the fertilization yet but is sure it will be a success. He leaves and goes into the lab...tells his technician to be very careful because he doesn’t want a mix-up with the man who is funding their research. He wants Brady kept with Brady and Kiriakis kept with Kiriakis. The technician assures him that he’s never had a mix-up yet. We see the hand flash back to switching the dish lids (sigh...I feel so silly writing that last sentence...lol...).
Belle and Phil talk about morning sickness...labor...having a big family...losing his leg... etc ...loving each other so much.
Billie comforts Bo...tells him he can’t blame himself...he was in the impossible situation of choosing between protecting his daughter or being honest with his wife Bo can’t figure out why something keeps happening every time he and Hope make progress towards getting close again....losing Zack and Shawn...if this isn’t his baby...he could lose Hope. Billie wants him to be happy and knows that he loves Hope.
Patrick comes back and tells Bonnie and Mimi that he wishes they would get on with the tests already. Bonnie’s money is on him being the dad. Mimi is worried about how Shawn will handle it.
Hope begs Shawn to find the peace to forgive his dad. She argues that families don’t do this to each other. He asks her if she is thinking about forgiving Bo. They are interrupted by the doctor who tells Hope they have to talk.
The technician tells Dr. Jaynes not to worry...he will triple check the labels on the dishes before he completes the fertilizations.
Philip thinks that once they find out that the fertilization was a success and that the conception of their second child is a reality, then they should go and celebrate. He tells Belle that because she still isn’t technically pregnant, they will both be able to have champagne. She giggles that they can have some fun afterwards...hopes that Mimi and Shawn have their baby too...they want it so badly. Mimi overhears again and murmurs that Shawn already has a baby...Claire...just that none of them know it.
Hope is worried that something is wrong with the baby. The doctor tells her that the untrasound machine is malfunctioning and there isn’t another one available at the moment...with the holiday coming up it would be fixed until afterwards...so they have to reschedule the tests.
Bonnie sits down beside a depressed Billie. She starts drinking from the antenna of her cell phone...sigh...and lays odds 4 to 1 that the baby belongs to Patrick which leaves Bo open for Billie. Billie denies that’s what she wants...thinks that would be the end of Hope’s marriage though
Hope shocks Bo by asking Patrick to walk her to her car. Shawn goes to leave but turns back and tells his dad that she made her choice...just like Bo made his.
Billie is with Bo again. She asks if he is okay. He is sure the baby is his. She asks him what if it isn’t. Bo grimly insists that Hope is “HIS WIFE” and she will not end up with “HIM.” Billie asks him what he is planning on doing. He tells her angrily that he will do whatever it takes to get rid of that son of a bitch...and then he walks away.
Sami’s Loft: Sami and Lucas
Sami is flipping through a wedding magazine. She rips out a page showing a beautiful bouquet and has a fantasy of her upcoming wedding to Austin. As they say their vows, Austin’s face morphs into Lucas’s. She shakes her head to clear it just as Lucas arrives carrying his tuxedo in a bag and telling her he is moving in. Sami is surprised and asks him if he has changed his mind about marrying Carrie.
Lucas assures Sami that he hasn’t changed his mind...they love each other and are having a baby. He explains that Austin offered to let him stay there instead of a hotel because it’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding.
Sami isn’t a happy camper and tells him to go hang his stuff up. He thinks she is acting weird...thought they were getting along better since he apologized. Sami plays dumb... tells him she is happy for all of them...asks if he is having second thoughts. He thinks it’s weird and ironic that after all those years that he wanted Sami to become the woman she is now...they are marrying other people. Sami knows it’s unfair to ask...but wonders if Austin and Carrie hadn’t shown up in town when they did, if he thinks that he and Sami would have gotten back together. Lucas just looks at her.
Lucas tells Sami that he and Carrie love each other...are getting married...starting a family. He thinks they will all be happy and tells Sami not to screw things up. He doesn’t want either of them to backslide...leaves to put his things in Will’s room.
Sami murmurs that she has already done something to ruin both of their futures. She leaves a message on Lexie’s cell phone that they have to talk before Carrie and Lucas’ wedding. Lucas hears the last part. She explains that she wanted to get in to see her hairdresser before the wedding. Lucas doesn’t think she should worry about her hair... she and Austin have a great future together if that’s what she wants. He leaves to do some errands. Sami whispers that it’s not up to her...it’s up to Lexie...and she’s not going to let that bitch ruin her entire life.
Rooftop: Carrie and Austin
Carrie thinks about her upcoming wedding. She has a fantasy of saying her vows to Lucas but at the last minute his face morphs into Austin’s. Carrie wonders out loud if she is making a mistake and if she really loves Lucas. Austin comes up and asks her the same thing. Carrie is surprised to see him. He makes the excuse that he wanted to hit the bag around a few times. He asks her if she is having second thoughts and wonders if she would be marrying Lucas if she wasn’t pregnant.
Austin keeps questioning Carrie. She tells him that she was engaged to Lucas before she found out she was pregnant...insists that they can’t play the “what ifs”...loves Lucas and wants to be the wife he deserves. Austin wants her to be happy but thinks she loves Lucas the way he loves Sami and that since the ring on her finger isn’t a wedding ring...if she isn’t sure, then she should end it now before she winds up divorced. Carrie is upset and wants to know what is going on. She asks him if he doesn’t want her to marry Lucas.
Austin knows they take their commitments seriously but doesn’t want her to do something she doesn’t want to do. She tells him she is just having pre-wedding nerves...end of story. Austin reminds her how much he loves her and will always love her. He knows that she is the great love of his life and that at one time he was hers. Carrie flashes back to some romantic moments between them...up on the roof and seeing a shooting star...celebrating the New Year...again on the roof with a fire and kissing each other. She starts to cry.
Carrie tells Austin that she will never forget those special times but they can’t go back. Austin tells her he still loves her and that he only turned to Sami because she chose Lucas. He loves Sami but not like he loves her. He pleads with her that baby or no baby, it isn’t too late to change her mind if she thinks she is making a mistake. He tells her that she owes it to all of them to tell him how she honestly feels about him.
Carrie tells him that it doesn’t matter how she feels...they can never be together. She has a flashback to Lexie telling her about the genetic testing. Austin tells Carrie that she owes him the truth. Carrie is crying and agrees with him.

Steve is sorry about not being able to remember anything. He tells her that he has met people just yesterday and doesn’t remember them the next day. He just wants to be sure he can remember Stephanie. Kayla thinks that maybe when Marlena and John come home that he should go and see Marlena...she’s a psychiatrist and has actually had amnesia herself. Steve relates that he saw quite a few shrinks at the hospital in Cincinnati and it didn’t help....but he guesses one more won’t hurt...the first thing he remembers is waking up in the hotel room...not knowing how he got there. Kayla has a light bulb moment and says OMG!
E.J. is all over the place with reasons why Austin and Sami should postpone their wedding...namely because he is their new client and he wants all their attention on him and their new product line. LOL...Sami isn’t buying it.
Bo asks for some alone-time with Hope. Patrick leaves.
Billie runs into Patrick. She asks him what he will do if it turns out that the baby is his.
Hope doesn’t want to talk about the paternity of the baby at a wedding reception. Bo tells her that he understands...just wanted her to know that however things turn out, he will always love her. She says: “Even if Patrick is the father?”
Kate tells Roman that she is conceding defeat where Sami and Austin are concerned. Roman reminds her of their own history.
Kayla thinks that somebody staged Steve’s death and erased his memory...a man named Stefano Dimera.
Austin agrees to postpone the wedding. He goes to get champagne. Sami turns on E.J. and asks him for the real reason that he is trying to postpone her wedding.
Bo...sigh...he’s trying so hard. He tells Hope that...the baby...he thinks it’s his. Hope asks him if it isn’t...if he’ll accept that. He tells her that he’ll do anything to make sure he doesn’t lose her. She tells him sadly that she’s not trying to hurt him. She walks away with Bo watching.
Carrie bumps into Austin. He tells her she looks happy. Lucas arrives and reminds Austin that he’s next. Maggie introduces the married couple and they dance. Austin flashes back to dancing and kissing Carrie.
Roman and Kate share a bittersweet moment.
Steve asks Kayla about Stefano Dimera. She tells him that Stephano is dead and that his son Tony is in prison...that Stefano was obsessed with Marlena and Hope...faked both their deaths and erased both of their memories. She tells him that Hope got her memory back so maybe he will too...thinks that maybe Stefano wanted to keep her and Steve apart...has an idea and tells him to go with her.
Billie asks Bo how things went with Hope and if he made any progress. He’s really upset and tells her that he used to be able to talk to her...but can’t tell what Hope is thinking anymore.
Patrick offers to take Hope home. She appreciates that he doesn’t use pressure on her. Bo isn’t a happy camper watching them.
E.J. tap dances and says it’s about the business and not her wedding. She wonders if he really wants her to focus on him. He tells her that the reason he started to work with Reed and Company had nothing to do with Austin or his mother. Austin returns and pulls her into a dance while E.J. just smiles.
Max and Chelsea play one-upmanship...with her telling him she is going out later with friends...and him getting a call and ditching her for someone else.
Billie thinks a dance might make Bo feel better. Hope sees them and tells Patrick she wants to go home. Bo watches them leave.
Carrie and Lucas and Austin and Sami switch dancing partners. Lucas tells Sami how proud he is of how she has changed. Sami is almost in tears.
E.J. asks Kate to dance...wants to know why she hates Sami...thinks he should know if he is going to work with Sami. She won’t tell him.
Kayla takes Steve into a private room. He asks her why they are there. She tells him that so far they’ve just been talking...she’s hoping they can do more that that if he’s interested. She starts to kiss him and he pulls her to him and kisses her back very passionately. They end up lying on the couch with Kayla on top.
Previews:
E.J. tells a shocked Austin that if he doesn’t tie the knot soon enough, somebody else might just jump in there.
An excited Jennifer hugs Frankie. She tells him that he’s given them hope that Jack might survive.

Pat’s Spoilers
Carrie & Lucas: Lucas rushes to put the finishing romantic touches on their bedroom as Carrie impatiently asks if she can open her eyes. He is lighting candles, putting on romantic music and throwing rose petals on the bed. He carries her to the bed saying she is the lightest pregnant woman ever. She admits that Caroline had to take in her dress – she’s losing weight. She will go to see Lexie about it but she is sure nothing is wrong. Her mother hardly gained any weight while she was pregnant with her. The wedding night begins. The love fest continues as the curtains billow dangerously close to the candles. Carrie thanks Lucas for doing this – he knows she didn’t want to go to a hotel. She starts undressing him. They’re now naked under the covers – Carrie suggests that she doesn’t have to sleep at all – if he’s not too worn out … hint … hint … she just wants to be with her new husband. More lovemaking …
Dune Austin and Sami arrive. The owner wonders if she should call 911 now or later. Every time Sami shows up something happens (she lists off everything that has gone wrong). Sami asks her if she is going to seat them or what? EJ arrives followed by Max. Max gets a call from Stephanie – she’s on her way. Chelsea slinks in and gloats to Max that ‘she’ (meaning Stephanie) is late. He wants to know why she is following him. She lies and says she is there to meet Sami (after looking around trying to find a familiar face). Max doesn’t believe her – he tells her to just admit that she followed him there to see who he is meeting. Sami thinks it’s nice to be out without Lucas and Carrie. Austin agrees saying too much togetherness. Sami can’t believe that Lucas and Carrie are officially married – it hit her when they walked down the aisle as man and wife. But it got her fantasizing about their wedding. Carrie and Lucas’ wedding was fine but she wants their wedding to have more ‘pizzazz’ … Austin wants her to have the wedding of her dreams but they have business to take care of first. Sami says that’s fine – it will give them more time to plan the wedding. She starts talking about the bridal party – she needs one more bridesmaid besides Carrie and Belle. Austin suggests Stephanie. Sami says no, she barely knows her and besides no bride wants a beautiful redheaded teenager in her bridal party. Carrie will be very pregnant so she’ll look skinny – bride’s think of these things. Austin tells her she doesn’t have to worry – she’ll be beautiful. Sami sees Chelsea and tells Austin she knows who to ask. She tells Austin she will be right back. EJ joins Austin. EJ wants to talk to Austin about Sami. Chelsea makes it clear that she may be mildly curious about who he is dating but that’s about it – she’s not dying to know like he worded it. She came to see her cousin – not spy on him. She mentions that just a few days ago he wanted to see her. Max reminds her that she shot him down. Sami joins them. She is happy to see Chelsea which surprises Max. He leaves them alone. Sami says nice to see you Uncle Max – LOL! Sami has a proposition for Chelsea.
The gloved one has obviously finished his business at the hospital because we now see the gloved hand placing a note in an envelope. Hmm … no one thinks it’s weird to see someone dressed in black and wearing black leather gloves in JULY!!! LOL! EJ wants to apologise for how he handled things at the reception – sometimes he can be a little too demanding. He didn’t wish to stamp all over their wedding plans. Austin says he didn’t. EJ said he did – they postponed their wedding and judging by the last look Sami gave him she’s not too pleased with him. Austin says Sami is happy now – he thinks this was a blessing in disguise. They do have business to attend to and sometimes with Sami when she wants something she tends to be a little impatient. Their business is just taking off so they owe it to him (EJ) and their other clients to not drop the ball. Besides the wedding plans have been a little distracting. He needs Sami to focus on business – maybe he’ll put her in charge of EJ’s account full time. Chelsea thinks Sami is kidding her – why would she want her in her wedding – she didn’t even think Sami liked her. Sami thinks they have a lot in common. Everyone hates them but they’re just misunderstood, right? Sami thinks the two bad seed Brady girls should get to know each other better – maybe they could help each other out from time to time. Like now she could help Chelsea get her boyfriend back. Chelsea says Max? What makes you think I lost him? Sami says that – and points to Stephanie and Max hugging. Stephanie apologises to Max for keeping him busy. He understands she was busy – after all her father just came back from the dead. She says this is a cool place – it wasn’t here before. Max offers to buy her a drink. Chelsea watches.
Sami suggests to Chelsea that before she gears up to go claw her (Stephanie’s) eyes out she might reconsider her offer. Chelsea agrees to be Sami’s bridesmaid because really, who else would do it? Chelsea waits until a waiter with a tray full of drinks is close to Stephanie and then she ‘accidentally’ trips and knocks into the waiter. The drinks spill all over Stephanie. The waiter is very apologetic – Stephanie takes it good naturedly and goes to the ladies room to clean up. Max calls Chelsea on her stunt saying she did that on purpose. Sami goes to Angela to get a refill. A waiter hands an envelope over to Angela – it’s addressed to Sami. She hands it to Sami saying it looks like you have a secret admirer. Chelsea insists that bumping into the waiter was an accident – he doesn’t seriously think she was jealous. She tells him not to flatter himself and flounces off to another corner of the bar. Stephanie returns – Max asks her how she got ink on her hands. Stephanie has no idea and thinks that some club soda might get it off. EJ thinks their association will be productive … as for Sami handling his account … Austin says she’s smart, she’s aggressive. He doesn’t have to worry about the wedding getting in the way – he’ll make sure the company is operating on all four cylinders before they get married. EJ doesn’t think he should leave a woman like Sami hanging around too much. If they don’t tie the knot soon enough someone else may just jump in. Sami reads the note and asks Angela who gave her this. Angela says one of the bartenders found it on a table. From the look on your face it must be bad news.
Hospital: Mimi paces, worrying that something could go wrong. Shawn tells her not to worry – if there was a problem they would know about it. Belle and Philip are in one of the rooms awaiting the procedure. The nurse brings in the tray and tells them they will be starting soon. Belle wants to know how they know for sure that is her egg in the dish. The nurse assures her that they have safeguards in place – they have done this many times before – there is no room for error. Philip points out that the dish has her name on it. The gloved one lurks – flash back to the switch of the Petrie dish lids. The doctor arrives and implants Belle. He tells her to rest and wishes them luck. Belle is flipping through a magazine when Philip returns. He tells her Claire is fine and that Dr. Jaynes told him that everything went well with the embryo transplant for Shawn and Mimi’s surrogate. In the next room the nurse places a tray down with one of the Petrie dishes and the instruments used for the transfer. The Petrie dish is labelled Belle Kiriakis and above the tray there is another label with Belle’s name on it – Mimi’s tray is next to hers – the labels read Mimi Brady. The nurse gets paged. The person wearing the glove switches the Petrie dishes around so Mimi’s is now on the tray under the label Belle Kiriakis and Belle’s is on the tray under the label Mimi Brady.
Mimi tells Shawn that Lauren seems nice. Shawn agrees – very together, very consciousness. Mimi takes it as a good sign that she asked them to leave so she could rest although she was ready to leave five minutes before that … LOL! Shawn says he had a lot of questions. He asks Mimi if she is feeling better now that it’s all over. She says yes. Shawn says didn’t I tell you it would be okay – she needs to start listening to him. A nurse enters the room where the trays are and notices that that Mimi Brady’s Petrie dish is under the label for Belle Kiriakis. She runs to the phone and has Nurse Betty Granger paged – stat! Belle is dressed and ready to leave. Philip gives her his sister Isabella’s ring. Nurse Betty arrives and asks Nurse Rhonda why she paged her. Rhonda says she was going to start sterilizing the instruments when she saw … that – she nods towards the Petrie dishes. Betty says Oh God. Philip and Belle join Shawn and Mimi. Philip asks them how they are doing. Shawn says great. Lauren is wonderful – he thinks Philip for everything he has done. Mimi asks Belle if she feels any different. She says no – she’s not ready to buy another crib yet. She hopes the in vitro works so that she can have another baby with the man she loves. Nurse Betty is in a tizzy – this can’t be happening – she checked – she double-checked – there’s no way she could have mixed up those Petrie dishes. Rhonda says you’re the one Dr. Jaynes gave them too, correct? Betty says yes, she is sure that she put them on the right racks after the procedures. Oh Rhonda, what if the Kiriakis egg was implanted in the Brady surrogate and the Brady egg was implanted in Mrs. Kiriakis. Rhonda says that is exactly what she is afraid of.
Steve and Kayla: The kiss is progressing – Steve is now on top of Kayla but he puts a stop to it and gets up. He tells her they can’t do this – it’s not right. She thinks it is because he is her husband. Steve says what kind of husband – I don’t remember you – he doesn’t remember being her husband. She remembers and she wants him and she thinks he wants her. She pulls him into a kiss. The kiss is very steamy … LOL but once again Steve pulls away. Kayla says that she likes the way he was kissing her. He admits that he likes kissing her – that’s not the problem. He needs to find out for himself who the hell he was – until then he doesn’t see that there is any point to anything else. Steve asks her if she understands where he is coming from. She says to be honest, she doesn’t. He doesn’t want to lead her on – if he doesn’t remember who he is how can they have a meaningful relationship. It wouldn’t be fair to her. She disagrees. She asks him if he thinks this is fair – spending time with him, wanting him but never being able to have him. He says if or when they make love he wants to remember her and the love they shared. He doesn’t want it to be just about sex. She tells him it wouldn’t be just about sex for her. He responds that right now – that’s all it would be for him. He doesn’t want to hurt her – she’s a good person. She’s a beautiful, sexy woman and he does want her but he doesn’t remember her. Kayla says what if you never do. He doesn’t know but he wants to believe that he will someday. She wants to believe that too but there are people who have memory loss that never get their memory back. What if he’s one of those people? She couldn’t bear losing him all over again.
Steve says there is something she needs to hear. He won’t leave her and Stephanie. Kayla is surprised – he’s wanted to leave since he got there. He was scared and confused – he still is but he feels connected to her and that child and that has to be worth something. If she wants him here then … she does. He says then I’m not going anywhere. She told him that he was a man who doesn’t run, fights, right. He’s going to fight for them if she promises that she won’t give up on him. Kayla assures him that she would never give up on him. No matter how long it takes she will help him however she can to help him remember his past. He thanks her – it means a lot to him. She tells him that he never has to thank her. In all these years she never stopped loving you. She has to believe that someday he will remember her and how much they loved each other and how much they had to go through to be together. He caresses her face.
The Devereaux’s: Jen is tending to an unconscious Jack – she tells Frankie she can’t stand this. She doesn’t want him to die – he’s the father of her children – he’s been her husband for so many years. The doorbell rings and Frankie goes to answer it. Jen tells Jack that she can’t let him go. Frankie lets Lexie in – she goes upstairs – Frankie goes to the computer. He finds something of interest – he says why haven’t I heard of this. I’m not a doctor but this could save his life. Lexie examines Jack. Jen wants to know how he is doing. Lexie says Jack is dying and he knows all that. Right now he’s reconciling everything that happened in his life. She knows that patients in this stage are very cognizant of what is happening to them and what is going on around them. Jen says does this mean he can hear me if I talk to him. Lexie says yes. Jen asks Jack not to let go – she needs him – to please hang on. Frankie stares at the computer and says it’s a long shot but if it gives Jack a chance … he places a call. Abby enters the room. She asks if her Dad is okay. Jen says he is resting. Abby got scared when Jen called for her to come home. Lexie leaves to give them some time alone – she wishes she could do more for Jack. Abby notices that Jen has been crying. Jen wishes there was more she could do for Jack but Lexie and the doctors say that it is out of their hands now. They need to accept the fact that Jack is dying. Abby insists that as long as he is alive they have hope. Abby knows something that will help – they can pray for them. They say the Lord’s Prayer.
Frankie talks to his friend and asks him to get Jack into his clinical trial. The guy agrees and needs to speak to Jack’s doctor. Lexie comes down the stairs – Frankie hands the phone to her. Abby tells her mother she knows how hard this is for her and she apologises for making it harder. Jen understands – Abby loves her Dad so much and she thought that Jen was forgetting him. Abby says that is no excuse for the things she said to her and Frankie. Jen is forgiving. Abby wants to ask a question – if Dad were to live what would she think about her marriage to Frankie. Jen says she can’t even think about that right now – from what Lexie says she doesn’t think there is a chance of that happening. Downstairs Lexie asks Frankie how in the world was he able to arrange this. Frankie says sheer luck. Lexie says he is the most selfless man she knows. Frankie doesn’t want her pinning any medals on him. As much as he cares about Jack and wants him to live he’s doing this for Jen to – it’s tearing her apart. Lexie says if the new protocol works and Jack recovers you do know what will happen, don’t you? Frankie says he can’t think long term now. Lexie says if the treatment is successful … Frankie says I could lose Jennifer, I know. Jen is suffering and Jack is his friend – he’s got to do it. Lexie says she has to get back to her office to start the paperwork. The key to the trial is the new experimental drug. Jen overhears and asks what they are talking about. Lexie tells her that Frankie got Jack into this clinical trial that just might save his life. Jen says are you serious. Frankie tells her not to get her hopes up but the trial has helped a lot of other people in the same boat as Jack. Lexie leaves. Jen wants to know more. Frankie says the trial is being conducted by an old friend of his, he called in a favour and got Jack included in the trial. Jen hugs him and thanks him. He reminds her there are no guarantees. She says two minutes ago Jack didn’t have a chance – Frankie has given them hope that Jack may survive. Hugs.

Chelsea says she should celebrate. Max suggests they go to a coffee shop down the street where they have entertainment. Stephanie thinks it’s a good idea. Chelsea belittles their choice. She wants to stay at Dune – she’s having a great time. The guy that Chelsea was dancing with asks Stephanie to dance. Max notices the look on Chelsea’s face and taunts her about having a good time. Abby leaves to get a soda (although why she didn’t just order one – she was right at the bar – I don’t know – LOL). Max wants them to have some time alone to talk. He stresses that he and Stephanie are only friends. Chelsea knows how he feels about her and after tonight he has a pretty good idea of how she feels about him. She tells him to get over himself. Max asks her why she has to keep playing this game. Is she so insecure that she can’t admit she likes somehow. She tells him she doesn’t want to have this conversation again – she came here to have fun and that is what she is going to do.
Chelsea is back on the dance floor. Max is glum. Abby tells him that Chelsea is only acting this way because she is jealous of Stephanie. Max says he told Chelsea that he and Stephanie are only friends. Abby insists that Chelsea really cares about him. Max thinks she has a funny way of showing it. He is going out for air. Abby asks him not to give up Chelsea, she really needs him. Max says if she does she can find me outside. Chelsea brags about the hot guy she was dancing with. She urges Abby to celebrate. Abby says she is not in the mood. She’s sick of watching Chelsea being a total witch to Max. If she’s trying to push him away she’s doing a really good job. Stephanie follows Max outside and covers his eyes. He says he was hoping she would come after him. Abby tells Chelsea that she is in need of a reality check. Chelsea says she knows what she is doing. Abby says she better rethink her strategy because while she’s busy playing her games Max may realise she’s not worth the effort and find someone else. Max turns around and sees that it’s Stephanie and says it’s you – he thought it was someone else. Stephanie is sorry to disappoint. He tells her she didn’t. More teasing about the accident. And then a little flirting on Stephanie’s part … which ends in her kissing him. Chelsea glibly tells Abby that Max isn’t going anywhere – not as long as she keeps him guessing. Abby points out that Max left and Stephanie followed him. Chelsea isn’t looking so confidant any longer. Max breaks the kiss – he can’t – if it wasn’t for Chelsea. He really cares about Chelsea. Deep down she’s got a good heart – he wants things to work out for her. Stephanie hopes things work out for him and Chelsea realise she is lucky to have him. He’s a great guy. Chelsea comes on … turns on the waterworks and Max falls for it. They kiss – Stephanie comes out and sees them.
Hospital: Hope and Bo are together. Hope thanks Dr. Bader for agreeing to do the ultrasound tonight. Bo says they will find out he’s the father. Hope wonders if Patrick got her message. She tells Bo that Patrick has a right to be there. Patrick arrives and Hope tells him that the test is going to be done tonight. Dr. Bader and Hope go into the examine room. The doctor tells the guys she’ll tell them when they can come in. Bo tells Patrick that he is the father and once they learn that Patrick is not to go anywhere near his wife. Patrick thinks that Hope will have some say about that. Patrick also warns Bo that if he is the father he’s not going anywhere. Shawn arrives saying he got his mom’s message – they’re doing the ultrasound tonight. Bo says yes, the doctor is seeing her right now. Patrick gives them some space.
Shawn knows that Bo wants this baby to be his. Bo says and you don’t. Shawn doesn’t want to hurt his feelings – he knows Bo wants another chance. Bo does. Shawn wants to know what he’ll do with that chance. Is he going to love this baby with his whole heart? Bo answers you know I will. Shawn doesn’t. He loved Mom and he loved Zack but not enough. Bo admits to making some mistakes … Shawn interrupts – it was more than that or Zack would still be here. He knows that is hard for Bo to hear but it’s the truth. He goes on to talk about how he and Mimi have been trying to get pregnant – he mentions Mimi’s miscarriage. Shawn feels that Bo should know better than anyone what it is like to lose a child but not once has Bo asked how Mimi is doing or how he feels. Bo is upset and challenges Shawn reminding him that he won’t take his calls, you don’t want to hear from me – you’re the one that is making this difficult. Bo calms down. He tells Shawn he loves him and he is sorry that things are the way they are between them. So is Shawn. He misses having a father he can count on and now he’s going to be a father. He’s scared as hell because the father he has looked up to his entire life has let him down. Bo is sorry he feels that way – he’s going to be a great father – he should never doubt that. He remembers how Shawn was with JT and Zack. Shawn says when I remember JT I don’t remember you being there. You couldn’t take care of him because he wasn’t your blood. That only lasted a few months but he let him down. Shawn hopes that he will be a better father than Bo. And if this baby is Patrick’s he hopes that Bo doesn’t treat this child the same way he treated JT. And if this child is his Shawn hopes that his Mom doesn’t take him back for her sake and for the baby’s.
Bonnie (in her volunteer’s uniform) sees Mimi and asks her where Shawn is. Mimi tells her that Hope is having the ultrasound tonight. Bonnie is happy about that. Mimi tells her the procedure went well. Bonnie is thrilled and starts talking about Mimi having a Horton-Kiriakis heir, she means, bundle of joy and no one can take that away from her. Mimi reminds her that the baby will be a Lockhart as well. Bonnie says with Hope having Patrick’s baby it’s pretty much a done deal that the Lockhart’s will be a part of those families. Mimi reminds her that they don’t know if Patrick is the father of Patrick’s baby. Bonnie has a good feeling. Mimi says the IVF isn’t exactly a sure thing. First the implantation has to take … Bonnie says the doctor said it went well. Mimi has a really bad feeling – something doesn’t feel right. There’s a replay of Rhonda’s and Betty’s conversation ending with what if the Kiriakis baby was implanted in the surrogate and the Brady baby in Mrs. Kiriakis – the camera pans to Mimi.
Bo asks Shawn if he thinks he’s helping his mother by talking to him like that. He’s just adding more stress to her life and she doesn’t need it. Shawn thinks its Bo adding tension to her life. He is trying to protect her. He knows how much Bo hurt her and that’s why he believes she is better off without him and so is the baby. Dr. Bader tells Bo and Patrick that they are ready to do the ultrasound. Shawn asks Dr. Bader to let Hope know that he is there. Bo goes and sits next to Hope. He asks Hope how she is feeling. Hope is anxious to not only find out who the father is but she also wants to know the baby is okay. The doctor begins the procedure. Caroline arrives and tells Shawn she is there to be there for Bo. Grandpa Shawn has a bit of a cold that’s why he is not there. Shawn is glad she is there. Caroline says your Dad is probably not the only person who could use some moral support – this must be hard for him. Shawn says it is but he has some good news. Their surrogate was implanted so they’re pregnant – at least they hope they are. They’re very excited. Caroline congratulates them. She says but he must still be worried about his mom. Shawn says he is and he’s worried about her baby. Caroline assumes he is worried that Patrick might be the father. Shawn shocks her by saying actually he’s worried that his father might be. After how much his father has hurt his mother and destroyed their family he can’t help but believe that his mom and this baby would be better off without him. The ultrasound progresses. The baby is developing normally – a good, strong heartbeat. The doctor points it out. Hope thinks it is a miracle – a gift from God after losing Zack. Bo says they have been given a gift – a second chance. This baby is our future.
Bonnie tells Mimi she’s sorry she’s having a bad feeling but it’s not like she’s psychic like Celeste. She’s a pessimist. Mimi disagrees. She says she’s a realist but sometimes being a pessimist is like being a psychic when it comes to her life. Bonnie reminds her that she is married to Shawn and she’s going to have a baby – there’s plenty that is good about her life. Bonnie understand what Mimi is going through – she’s been through hell and back – the infertility, the miscarriage, the trouble with the first surrogate and Lauren’s accident … Mimi says – see, it’s like it’s not meant to be. Bonnie tries to lift her spirits – she tells Mimi she can’t worry about everything. The doctor is very optimistic so she can’t make herself crazy thinking about everything that could go wrong. Mimi says yeah, I’m sure there’s a plenty of other things that could go wrong that she hasn’t thought of yet. Betty says it’s impossible – she refuses to believe that they implanted the wrong fertilized eggs in those women. Rhonda asks then how did the Petrie dishes and vials end up on the wrong racks? Betty doesn’t know but there has to be an explanation. The gloved hand lurks.
Caroline knows that Shawn is having difficulties with his father but he’s a good man. He would never intentionally hurt any of his children. Zack’s death was an accident. Shawn says it wouldn’t have happened if he had been a decent parent. Caroline says if you were Chelsea wouldn’t you want your father to forgive you? Shawn says forgiveness is one thing but … he screwed up a lot and Bo always came down hard on him. But Chelsea could do whatever she wanted and she always got away with it and the person that paid the price for that was his brother with his life. He knows his Dad is hurting and he is sorry for the mistakes he makes but his question is why does he continue to make the same mistakes. He tried to forgive him but the trial came. His mother wanted closure … she wanted justice but Chelsea got to go free because his father destroyed the evidence the DA had to convict her. Caroline is adamant that Bo would never do anything like that. Shawn tells her they will have to disagree on that. He’s concerned that if this child is his father’s that he will just put more pressure on her to get back together and considering the circumstances that is the worse thing that could happen. Bo is enthralled watching the baby’s heartbeat. He kisses Hope’s hand. Hope says she missed all this when she was pregnant with Zack. Bo says they have been given another chance. It’s exactly what their little boy would have wanted. Patrick asks the doctor if she can tell them Hope’s due date. Dr. Bader says she is trying that right now but she’s afraid it’s not possible.
Nurse Betty has no idea what happened. She hopes that the dishes were put on the wrong racks after the procedure. That would mean everything was alright and the two women were implanted with the right embryos. Rhonda says but what if they were placed on the wrong racks before the procedure. Betty says than we obviously have a problem. They can only do one thing. They have to tell Dr. Jaynes. She hopes he doesn’t fire her. The hand lurks. We here a loud crash. Mimi says dear god, what was that?
Hope thought that from the ultrasound she could determine how far along she was. Dr. Bader says that is usually the case but she can’t get a clear enough picture to take the measurements she needs to calculate the due date. But they got to see the baby’s strong heartbeat which is really the most important thing. Hope agrees. Dr. Bader tells her they can do a blood test to determine how far along Hope is. Bo asks why they didn’t do that before. The doctor says it won’t be exact but in conjunction with the sonogram they got they would have a much better idea. They can do another sonogram later on to look at the structures they didn’t see today. Hope asks if they can get the results of the blood test today. Dr. Bader says she’ll try – she’ll put on a rush on the results. Hope wants this settled tonight. Draw the blood. Dr. Bader goes to get the nurse. Hope says we wait again. Patrick says at least she knows the baby is fine and everything is okay. Hope can’t get over seeing that little heartbeat – suddenly everything seems so real. Bo says it is real. This little baby is meant to be just like they are.
Caroline tells Shawn that his father has made some mistakes like they all have but he’s a good man. She hates to hear him talk like this. He needs to let go of his anger. Bo and Patrick come out. Bo tells his mother that she didn’t have to come down. She’s there to give him some support. Shawn wants to know who the father is. Bo explains that they have to do a blood test to determine the age of the fetus because they couldn’t get a clear enough picture from the ultrasound. The good news is that the baby seems to be healthy – everything is fine. Shawn wants to know how soon before they find out the results of the blood test. Bo says hopefully tonight. Patrick asks if Mimi is still around. Shawn says she’s at the nurse’s station. He asks to talk to Patrick. Shawn thanks Patrick for standing by his mother. She told him she wouldn’t have made it off that island alive if it wasn’t for him. Patrick says he just did what any friend would have done. Shawn says I think you did more than that but she did tell him that he helped her through so of the hardest days of her life. He’s been a jerk – he should have listened to his mom and Mimi, not his father. Patrick says he had good reason to not trust him. He did some things in his past that he’s not proud of but those days are long past. Shawn says that he hopes no matter what happens here that Patrick will stick by his mother. Patrick says he really wants to talk to Mimi. She was very nervous about the procedure. Shawn says that it was a success. Patrick congratulates him and thanks him for the support – he appreciates it. Bo can’t believe that Shawn is siding with that criminal and not his own father. Caroline says as far as she knows Patrick isn’t a criminal. Shawn is confused and he’s still angry over Zack’s death. He just has to give him more time. Bo says confused or not that criminal is tearing our family apart and Shawn is helping him.
Shawn goes in to see Hope. Hope hugs him and says she didn’t mean for him to come to the hospital. Shawn says they were already there. The surrogate was implanted with Mimi’s egg. It was a last minute thing that’s why they didn’t have a chance to tell anyone. Hope is excited for the both of them. She tells him that he should be with his wife – it’s a very special day for them. Shawn says they’re going home soon. He wanted to be with her when she got the news about the baby. Hope says that is still going to take some time. She can’t believe this is happening. She can’t imagine what he thinks about her. Shawn tells her that all he thinks is that she turned to someone who obviously cares very deeply for her. She did nothing wrong. Hope says as grateful as she is for this baby it just made a very complicated situation even more so.
Nurse Betty tells Rhonda she thought someone was watching them – it startled her and she tripped. Rhonda says who. Betty doesn’t know – she’s a nervous wreck right now. Mimi opens the door and asks if everything is alright. She heard a really loud crash. Betty tells her everything is fine – just a little accident. Mimi tells Bonnie the nurses just dropped something but Nurse Betty is acting very strange. She looked freaked out when I walked in there and so did the other nurse. Why would that be? Betty is pointing to the trays as she tells Dr. Jaynes she has no idea how this could have happened but she thought he should know in case there is a problem. He says this is not good. He tells her to recheck the charts and get back to him ASAP. In the meantime the Brady’s’ and the Kiriakis’ will have to be told. The hand lurks.
Bo tries to get Caroline to go home – this could take all night. Caroline says she’s not going anywhere. Bo says the waiting is killing him. Caroline says she knows there is a lot riding on that blood test. Bo says yes, his marriage – his whole life. If the baby isn’t his he could lose Hope for good. Hope tells Shawn that she wishes things were different. She wants to focus on the good things – not only is he going to have a little brother or sister but he and Mimi are going to have their own baby. Shawn tells her that Belle and Philip had the procedure as well. Hope says oh gosh, it’s raining babies in Salem. She asks where Mimi is – she’d like to congratulate her. Shawn says he will go and get her. He tells his mom to hang in there – everything is going to be alright. He leaves. Hope rubs her stomach and says I love you too no matter who you’re daddy is. Bo and Dr. Bader come in – the results are in. Dr Bader thinks they can determine who the baby’s father is.
Bonnie tells Mimi that she has to stop with the negative thoughts. She and Shawn are having a baby – she can take that to the bank. Patrick joins them and congratulates Mimi – Shawn told him the good news. Bonnie asks Patrick how the ultrasound went – is Hope having his baby. He says they still don’t know. The ultrasound wasn’t clear enough to determine how far along she is but they’re waiting on a blood test. They should have the results tonight. Bonnie says it’s their lucky night – she’s going to be a grandmother twice over – she can feel it in her bones. Patrick says we’ll see – right now he is just so happy for Mimi and Shawn. Mimi says it seems too good be true actually. Shawn wraps his arms around her from behind and says its happening. This time nothing is going to go wrong. Bonnie says they’ll leave them alone so they can go home and celebrate their new baby. Dr. Jaynes is happy they are still there. Shawn asks if everything is okay. Dr. Jaynes says I’m afraid not. I’m sorry to have to tell you this but we have a problem. Freeze frame on Mimi.
Preview: Sami (reading the note) – What am I going to do? What if the truth comes out? EJ (from behind her) – Truth about what? Hope to Bo and Patrick – I know exactly who the father of my baby is. Bo – Who’s the father? Mimi (with Shawn beside her) to Dr. Jaynes – Well if our surrogate is not carrying our baby whose baby is she carrying? Philip and Belle rush in. Philip – Dr. What’s going on? Belle – Hey, what are you doing here? Mimi gasps and looks horrified.

Pat’s Spoilers
Pat’s Spoilers
Sami’s: Austin asks Sami if she is okay – she was so quiet on the way home. She thinks she had too much wine – it made her tired. They talk about the evening. Sami thinks the wedding was nice and the reception was great. Austin says except for EJ wanting them to postpone their wedding. Sami doesn’t mind – it will give them more time to plan. Austin gets a call. He needs to go down and get his laptop. Sami pulls the note out of person and talks out loud – Oh God, what if the truth comes out. EJ is behind her. He says the truth about what? EJ points out the door was open and she was talking to herself. She says you think I would learn. He asks her if something is bothering her and says he’s a good listener. Sami admits she has gotten herself into a bit of jam. She just has to claw her way out of it – she’s good at that. EJ says I think its called survival of the fittest. Sami asks if he a reason for being there. He wanted to talk business but it’s getting late. He’ll come back tomorrow. Sami thinks it’s best he leave before Austin gets back. EJ wants to know why Austin would mind him being there to talk about business. He’s concerned about her and wants to know what this black cloud hanging over her is – he’s not leaving until she tells him what is going on.
Sami appreciates his concern but she doesn’t think he can help her. He says – try me. Explain your dilemma. She says it’s more than that – it’s like a dead end – mine. EJ repeats that he is her friend – she can trust him. She says if I can’t tell Austin how can I tell you. He says because he’s different. He’s not part of this town. He’s not about to hang her out to dry and he’s not going to judge her. Sami thinks she owes it to Austin to tell him first. EJ accepts that – he apologises for upsetting her earlier this evening. He didn’t mean to come between her and her fiancé. Sami says he didn’t. EJ has to go – he says you are going to talk to Austin about this. Sami says no – she can’t tell him. If she does she’ll wind up alone. EJ reminds her that she says she owned it to him. Sami says she does. She thinks she had too much wine – she’s not thinking straight. EJ understands that if she is keeping a secret from her fiancé it feels wrong to tell him. But if she wants an objective opinion from a third party he can help her figure out what to do. Sami says she can’t. EJ says then there must be someone else, a family member, a friend? Sami says her mom is a good listener – but she has her own problems right now – she’s out of town. Sami says she can’t tell her family – they wouldn’t understand. He says there has to be somebody. She admits she used to talk to Lucas. They used to be really close but he wouldn’t understand and he certainly wouldn’t forgive her for this. EJ says at the risk of becoming an accomplice to this heinous crime he still believes two heads are better than one when it comes to solving problems. This is your last chance. Are you sure you don’t want to tell me exactly what’s going on. Sami says she will tell him but she wants him to promise that he won’t tell anyone else and he’ll try not to judge her. He says I already did. Sami wants him to understand that this is really bad so if he doesn’t think he can help or doesn’t want to, he should just walk away. She pulls the note out of her purse. EJ asks her if she is going to let him read it or not. Sami is having second thoughts. EJ tells her he is new to this town – he doesn’t have any preconceived notions about her. Besides a friend is somebody who know all about someone is and is still their friend. That is who he is. Sami says she has trusted people in the past and she has gotten burned for it. EJ says in other words you don’t trust me. If she doesn’t want her help, that’s her prerogative. He starts to leave. She stops him and hands him the note. She asks him to please promise her that after he reads this he won’t hate her.
Outside the apartment building: Billie runs into Austin – she’s out for a run – needs to clear her head. Austin asks her what is wrong. She tells him nothing and changes the conversation to him. He says that Carrie chose to marry Lucas just like he chose to marry Sami. Billie says there is one little problem – you’re still in love with Carrie. Austin admits to loving Carrie. It was like they were meant to be and for a long time he thought it was. Getting married, planning a future – those feelings never go away but they screwed it up. She’s with Lucas, he’s with Sami – end of story. Billie knows him and Carrie better than anyone else and he doesn’t seem happy. Billie wonders why Carrie would marry Lucas if she was in love with him. Austin tells Billie that Carrie never told him why she chose Lucas – she was very secretive about it. Billie says that doesn’t sound like Carrie. Austin says maybe Carrie has changed. Billie says yeah, we all have changed. Austin says if we’ve all changed, what about Sami? Billie doesn’t believe that. Austin just wants someone to tell him that he’s not completely insane or stupid for being with her again. Billie says he’s not – if he’s in love with Sami, she’s happy for him. Austin realises she changed the subject. He wants to talk about her.
Billie says she doesn’t have a love life. Austin says Hope is pregnant and either Bo or Patrick could be the father. She still has feelings for both of them, doesn’t she? What is she hoping happens? She tells him that the same way he’ll always feel about Carrie is how she’ll always feel about Bo but she wants him to be happy. She wants this baby to be his because he’ll never be able to move on with anyone but Hope. Austin says if he’s not the father he may not have a choice. Billie states that she is not going to wait around for Bo anymore – she’s not going to be anyone’s second choice. She deserves better than that. Austin agrees – he knows there is someone out there for her. Austin knows the perfect guy for her. Billie says she is taking herself out of the dating competition – besides what kind of goober would she be letting her brother set her up on a date. Austin says who knows you better than me. Billie says who is he? Austin says EJ Wells after he lists off a lot of his character traits. Billie knows who EJ is. He’s cute but he’s too young for her. There is some fun banter between them about older women and younger men. Austin wants her to at least have coffee with the guy. Billie says if the opportunity presents itself she’ll think about it. She leaves.
Carrie & Lucas: Carrie is starving – after several sexual innuendo’s and Carrie ogling Lucas’ butt Lucas goes to get some food. Carrie talks to her baby and promptly passes out on the bed. Lucas realises that Carrie isn’t sleeping and gets her to come to. She tells him she got dizzy … they realise she passed out. She stops him from calling 911. Carrie doesn’t want to spend her wedding night at the hospital. She’s fine – she didn’t eat all day – not very smart for a pregnant lady. He asks her if there is something else bothering her. She says no – she just has to eat. After they eat Lucas gives Carrie a gift. It’s his Dad’s baby rattle. Alice gave it to him. His father wasn’t in his life but he promises Carrie he will always be there for her and the baby. She knows that. He’s the best Dad. She had a crazy childhood too. If she is honest with herself she’s been searching for something her whole life. She feels safe with him. She feels blessed to be his wife – more kisses. They begin to make love- the curtains billow – the candles flicker. Carrie and Lucas are sound asleep. The curtains catch on fire … the room fills with smoke as the flames grow higher.
The Kiriakis Loft: Belle wants a quiet evening as a family of three because soon they will be four. She is so happy with him. Things are really working out for them and for Shawn and Mimi. The phone rings. Nurse Betty calls and tells Philip that he and his wife need to come back to the hospital. They might have a slight problem. He tells Belle they have to go back to the hospital. She says they probably need to sign some release forms or something. Philip says no there’s some kind of problem.
Hospital: Bo and Hope are in her room. Dr. Bader arrives and says the test results are in. She thinks they can determine who the father of her baby is. Mimi asks Dr. Jaynes – what kind of problem do they have here. The doctor doesn’t know how to tell them this but there may have been a mix-up with the embryo transfer. Shawn asks him what kind of mix-up. There’s no easy way to you this Mimi but your surrogate may have been implanted with the wrong embryo. Mimi says What? Shawn hugs her. The gloved one lurks.
Bo asks how long has she been pregnant. Dr. Bader wants to speak to Hope alone. Bo says he is her husband … Hope tells Bo that it’s okay. She’d prefer to be alone when she hears the news. He leaves the room. Hope asks Dr. Bader who the father of her baby is. Patrick joins Bo and asks if the blood test is back. Bo tells him that before they hear who the father is there is something he has to hear. Dr. Jaynes explains that somehow the Petrie dishes ended up on the wrong shelves after the embryos were implanted. Mimi asks if that matters because it was after the procedure. The doctor says the problem is they don’t know when the mix-up occurred. His team and the lab are looking for an answer and hopefully they’ll have one soon. Mimi says she told her Mom something was going to go wrong because it always does but she never expected this – not in a million years. Dr. Jaynes tells her it’s possible nothing is wrong – they just don’t know yet. Shawn doesn’t understand how this could happen. Neither does the doctor but he will get to the bottom of it. Mimi says great. So if our surrogate isn’t carrying our baby then whose baby is she carrying. Philip and Belle arrive – they want to know what is going on. Mimi says oh no – Shawn holds her.
Bo tells Patrick that this baby is his. Patrick replies that he will wish him well and be on his way but if you’re not… Bo interrupts – If I’m not that doesn’t mean you’ve won Hope. Patrick doesn’t think it’s a matter of winning. It comes down to who Hope wants to be with. Bo states that he is her husband. He loves her. He is not going to give her up. Hope looks at her chart and says so these numbers roughly equate to … Dr. Bader – how many weeks pregnant you are. Then according to this chart I know exactly who the father of my baby is. Philip asks what the problem is – what’s the emergency. Dr. Jaynes is afraid that a mix-up may have occurred with the embryo transfers. Belle says what – between us – our babies (she points to herself and Mimi). He’s afraid so but he’s not sure. It could be that everything is just fine. Philip says it could be that the surrogate is carrying our baby and Belle is carrying Mimi and Shawn’s. The doctor says it is possible. Philip wants to know how they could let that happen. The doctor insists that nothing like this has ever happened before – the hand lurks. They take every precaution but situations like this are not entirely unheard of. Philip knows – his mother went through the same situation because of a doctor like you. Philip goes into my daddy has the money role and tells the doctor he’s going to be out on his ass. The doctor says he apologises to them all and he takes full responsibility for this incident. He contemplated whether he should tell them about the possibility of an error when he’s not sure one exists. Mimi wants to know if there is a way they can figure this all out. He’s testing for genetic residue by examining the catheters that transferred the embryos into your surrogate and Belle’s uterine cavity then he can be certain, beyond a doubt whether a mistake was made. Belle asks him how long this is going to take. He says the lab is working on it right now. In the lab the technician says the genetic residue from the first catheter checks out. The other technician says this one does too but there is some sort of irregularity that doesn’t match what was charted. The first technician says he thinks he knows why. You better get Dr. Jaynes down here ASAP – he’s got an even bigger problem than he originally thought.
Patrick doesn’t need to be reminded that Bo and Hope have a history together. He’s not concerned with her past but with her future. Bo states that her future is with him. Patrick says time will tell. But if Hope is pregnant with his baby, he is going to be in her life. He’s going to help raise his baby. He’s not going to use the baby to pursue a relationship with Hope especially if she doesn’t want that. But if she decides that she wants some sort of future with him there is nothing that Bo or anyone can do about that. Dr. Bader asks Hope if she would like a few minutes alone before she speaks to her husband and Mr. Lockhart. Hope doesn’t see the point of that now that she knows who the truth – there is not much to think about. She tells the doctor to ask them to come in. Hope looks so sad and she gives a slight shake of head (you know – the ‘no’ shake). Dr. Bader tells Bo and Patrick that Hope wants to see them. The foursome paces or sits or leans – looks are exchanged. Shawn says they are probably worried about nothing. With all the safeguards they have in place what are the chances that they made a mistake. Dr. Jaynes is probably being extra cautious. Phil says after what his mother went through to have him the odds must be a million to one of this happening again let alone them. He wasn’t worried about it because his dad funds all of Dr. Jaynes’ research. You would think he would be extra extra careful – his entire future rests on a successful outcome for us. Belle says she asked the nurse if she was sure it was her egg and what if they made a mistake. Of course she was joking. The nurse says it’s impossible to make these kinds of mistakes. Mimi says if that’s the case why do you seem so worried. Belle thinks they should try and stay positive. Mimi thinks that she has the right to be a little bit about upset with the fact that their surrogate may be carrying Phil and Belle’s baby and Belle may he carrying hers and Shawn’s. She needs some air. Shawn goes after her. Belle didn’t mean to upset her. Philip feels the same way she does – he feels like breaking something. Belle assures him that everything will be just fine. Shawn tries to calm Mimi down. She’s not making it easy for him. She asks him if things could get any worse. He tells her that it’s going to be okay. She says are you kidding me? This is a nightmare. Belle could be pregnant with their baby – my best friend, your ex-girlfriend – do things get any weirder than this. Shawn says they don’t that anything is wrong. She does – she’s had a bad feeling about this all night. Shawn says but you’ve been saying that since we first tried to get pregnant. Mimi says she is sorry – she knows he’s sick to death of hearing her be negative but in the end he is going to realise she was right. All along she’s had a bad bad feeling about this and it’s all her fault. Shawn says don’t bring up the abortion –don’t punish yourself. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Mimi wishes she could believe that. Shawn wants her to promise him that they are going to get through this together for the baby’s sake. Mimi promises. Shawn says no matter we are going to have our baby – believe it, okay. They hug. The lab technician informs Dr. Jaynes that Mrs. Kiriakis is carrying her own egg and the surrogate is carrying Mrs. Brady’s. Dr. Jaynes is relieved. The other technician says there is a bigger problem. The first technician says maybe they being overly thorough but when they checked the markers in the men’s sperm – this is what we found. He hands the chart to Dr. Jaynes. The doctor says are you sure about this?
The men enter Hope’s room. Bo says, Fancy Face, who is the father. Hope stares at Bo and then looks at Patrick and says Patrick, you’re the father. Hope turns back to Bo – he looks devastated. Belle apologises to Mimi for upsetting her. She was just trying to keep everyone sane. Mimi says it fine but pleased don’t act like you’re not worried too. Belle is worried but its kind out of their hands right now. Philip sees the doctor and asks him what he found out in the lab. He’s got good news and bad. Belle’s egg was implanted in her and Mimi’s egg into the surrogate. Philip says that is good news – there was no mix-up. What’s the bad news? The doctor doesn’t really know how to explain this to them – he can’t apologise enough – according to the genetic residue found in both catheters there was a mistake but it didn’t have anything to do with the eggs – it was the sperm. Philip says what does that mean? The doctors says I’m afraid that Belle’s egg was fertilized by Shawn’s sperm and Mimi’s by Philip’s. Mimi says you mean I’m having a baby with Philip? Shawn says and the baby Belle is carrying is mine? The doctor says I’m afraid so. Mimi says omg – this is really my worst nightmare. Shawn turns to her. Philip starts in on the doctor yelling how did you let this happen. Belle rubs her stomach. Shawn lets go of Mimi and looks down at her before going to get in between Philip and the doctor. Philip is very angry! Belle and Mimi stare at each other. The hand lurks.
Preview: EJ to Sami – At the very least, I’m burning it and that way neither Austin nor anyone else is ever going to find out about it. He burns the note. Jen to Jack (Frankie hears) – I need you so much. Please, I can’t live without you. Hope to Patrick – This baby is really lucky to have you as its father. She hugs him. Bo looks angry but he has Billie by his side. Philip (to the group?) – The only sane thing to do is terminate both pregnancies right now. Belle – Absolutely not.

Janice’s Spoilers
Note: I really enjoyed Bo, Shawn, Kyle and Billy today. I enjoyed E.J. as well. And if Mimi is the proverbial “bad guy” here, then what does that say about Belle’s come hither looks at Shawn today...especially while in the vicinity of her own husband and Shawn’s wife? Miss Belle sure seemed to like to play rub-a-dub-dub with her tummy today...over and over and over again.
Hospital
Jack is in a hospital room and Lexie is hooking up his I.V. for him. She tells the nurse that they have to be vigilant with his injections and blood work. She begs Jack to hang in there and do his part.
Frankie comes up to Jennifer in the hallway and asks about Jack. She tells him that it’s a miracle but Jack is pretty weak and getting his first injection as they speak. She thanks Frankie for what he did and prays that it works.
Hope tells Bo and Patrick that the tests show that Patrick is the father. Bo is devastated and questions the accuracy of the tests...wants to do them again or another ultrasound. He sounds pretty desperate. Hope stops him mid-sentence and tells him that he can’t be the baby’s father because they weren’t together when the baby was conceived.
Dr. Jaynes tells the quad that the mix-up is even more complicated...somehow Belle’s egg was fertilized with Shawn’s sperm and Mimi’s with Phil’s. Mimi looks completely shocked. She wants clarity and asks the doctor: “So the embryo you implanted in our surrogate is mine and Philip’s?” Shawn follows with a shocked: “And Belle is carrying mine?” Dr. Jaynes says they are working at finding out how it occurred. Philip goes ballistic and tells the doctor that his funding is gone...calls him an SOB and says that he is going to sue him and the hospital and he’ll never practice medicine again.
Dr. Jaynes doesn’t seem too upset. He advises them to find some course of action. Mimi looks at him as if he’s crazy. She asks him what he can do...can he take out the embryo ...separate the sperm from the eggs...put them with the right eggs...etc... Doctor Jaynes says of course not. Mimi screams at him that there is nothing to discuss then. Shawn tells Dr. Jaynes that they need some time alone. The doctor tells them how sorry he is. He leaves with Philip yelling threats as he goes.
Shawn tells the others that this is huge...effects all of them...important that they all think this through and make a decision. Mimi tells him there is nothing anyone can do. Shawn pulls her into his arms. Philip says he is going to take care of it and leaves. Belle looks at Shawn...both look shocked....deer in headlights...
Lexie reminds Jack to do his part...stay strong. She leaves and Jennifer asks her how Jack is doing. Lexie says it’s too soon to tell but that so far there haven’t been any bad reactions. She tells Jen to stay strong for Jack and leaves, promising to be back soon. Jennifer looks at Jack through the window and thinks he looks so helpless. Frankie comforts her.
Hope asks Patrick to leave so she can talk to Bo alone. She tells Bo that she knows this is hard for him. Bo is shocked and very upset...finding out his wife is pregnant with another man’s baby. Hope tells him that hating Patrick and lashing out at her won’t help.
He shouts at her that he tried to prepare himself but it’s a little more difficult that he thought. She replies that it’s kind of like her finding out that Billie was pregnant with his child. Bo pleads with Hope. He tells her that he loves her more than anything and that they’ve both been through so much...can’t throw their marriage away. He reminds her how much he loved both J.T. and Zack...even when he thought he wasn’t their father.
Bo tells Hope that this baby is her baby and he loves her so it will be loved more than anything....they can pick up where they stopped...he begs her. Hope is in tears now.
Patrick calls Bonnie and leaves a message telling her that he is the dad. Billie overhears and is shocked...another deer in headlights...
Philip phones his lawyer and tells him to bury the doctor. He comes back to Belle and tells her he wants to take her home. Belle looks a bit like a zombie. He wonders why she is so calm. She looks at him like he’s an alien.
Shawn tells Mimi that there isn’t anything they can do tonight (sigh...Shawn keeps touching Mimi and hugging her throughout the show). He says he’ll call Uncle Mickey tomorrow and that they should go home and get some rest...promises her that it will be okay. Mimi tells him she’s sorry and that it’s because of her that they are all in this mess. Shawn says: “Honey, why are you sorry? You didn’t do anything.” He rubs her shoulders.
Hope pulls away from Bo and tells him she’s sorry. Bo wants to make a clean start and raise the baby as their own. Hope tells him she isn’t ready to pick up where they left off...its Patrick’s baby and not theirs and he deserves to be a part of the baby’s life. Bo pleads with her that they can still be together...work something out. He tells her that she can’t deny that they love each other and begs her not to stop believing in them...listen to her heart. He brings what Zack would want into the conversation and Hope gets mad. She tells him not to make this harder and asks him to leave so she can get dressed. He’s surprised but starts to leave... turns and says: “I’ll give you your space, but I’ll never stop loving you.” Hope breaks down and cries after he leaves.
Billie congratulates Patrick but knows that Bo will be devastated. Bo overhears them.
Frankie goes to get Jennifer a grilled cheese sandwich. Hope comes in and hugs Jennifer.
Shawn begs Mimi to stop saying it’s her fault. He tells her it’s just a horrible mistake and that Uncle Mickey will know what to do. Mimi is extremely upset and tells him that there is nothing anyone can do about it. She wonders how he can be so calm and asks what if this winds up bringing Shawn and Belle back together. Shawn is shocked and tells her point blank that they aren’t getting back together and asks why she would ever say that. Mimi reminds him that Belle is having his baby. Shawn reminds her that he and Belle haven’t even been together. Mimi pushes on and says that Belle is still pregnant with his baby and that maybe this is God’s way of saying that they are supposed to be together.
Belle talks just a bit condescendingly to her husband (honestly it’s either that or in Stepford Wife Mode). She tells him that someone has to stay calm here and ranting and raving and threatening lawsuits won’t change anything...it’s not good for “their” baby. Philip argues that it isn’t “their” baby...it’s hers and Shawn’s. He has a light bulb moment and figures out that Belle doesn’t care...she wants this baby more than anything even though it isn’t his. Belle just pouts at him.
Patrick leaves Bo and Billie alone to talk. Bo tells her that even if Patrick is the father, it will just make him fight harder for Hope...she is the only woman he loves and he is going to spend the rest of his life with her. Billie isn’t a happy camper.
Hope tells Jennifer she has to stay positive for Jack’s sake. She explains that she is at the hospital because she was taking a test of her own and it turns out she’s pregnant with Patrick’s baby. Jennifer is shocked...seems to be in the water today.
Lexie runs into Frankie and tells him that he is a very selfless person to be doing this for Jack and Jennifer. He asks her what kind of person would he be if he didn’t do it...willing to take the risk even if he ends up losing Jennifer in the process.
Belle gets a little emotional and tells Philip that of course she cares...but the baby is a living thing and “hers.” Phil yells that it’s not “his.” They hug and he goes to talk to Shawn.
With Philip looking on, Shawn pleads with Mimi: “Honey, you’re my wife...you’re the woman I love...the woman I took vows to be with until death do us part. Mimi reminds him again that he is having a baby with Belle and she is having a baby with Philip. He tells her that it doesn’t matter and he isn’t going anywhere...they will get through this together no matter whose baby is whose. Mimi asks him how? What happens after the babies are born...when they start growing up and start asking questions...and who raises who? He tells her that she is getting ahead of herself and shouldn’t worry about that now. She thinks their children will be freaks. He promises they will get through this but they can’t flip out on each other. Mimi apologies and Shawn kisses her on the cheek and leaves to call Uncle Mickey.
Philip walks up to Mimi and asks about Shawn. He’s glad that he is calling Mickey and wants both lawyers to work together. He looks at Mimi and in a dry humor mode tells her that they are having a baby together. Mimi drolly replies that they haven’t even kissed. Philip smiles and asks how she is doing. She tells him she is awful and asks how he is. He agrees, pulls her close and suggests they get out of there. They turn around and see Belle standing close to Shawn (on the phone). She tries a smile out on him. He looks at her slightly uncomfortably...not sure what to do. Their spouses witness this. Philip looks ready to kill.
Bo apologizes to Billie for the way he has treated her. Billie takes the heat for all that has gone wrong in his relationship with Hope. She knows he loves Hope and respects that. She also knows that none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for her...their daughter ...Zack’s death. Bo wonders if maybe Shawn is right and Hope and the baby would be better off without him. He doesn’t think Lockhart will want him to see his kid.
Bo’s anger gets the better of him. He can’t believe this has happened...when he found out that Hope was pregnant he thought he had a chance to make up for his mistakes: Zack and Chelsea. He talks sadly about his Tiny Man and thinks Zack will never forgive him for the family falling apart like this. Billie reminds him about Zack wanting him to forgive Chelsea for killing him...she’s sure that he will forgive his father and wants him to keep believing...asks what he plans to do to save his marriage.
Jennifer asks Hope about her plans. Hope murmurs that she and Bo have been married for a long time...she just doesn’t know...talks about Zack being a surprise baby and that another child won’t replace him in her heart. She tells Jennifer that Bo thinks this was a sign from God...Zack’s way of telling them that his parents should be together. She wonders if because this isn’t Bo’s baby, if this is Zack’s way of saying they are not supposed to be together. Jennifer thinks Hope should go home and think about things. They hug and Hope leaves. Jennifer lays her head on Jack’s chest.
Patrick sees Hope and asks about Jack. He asks how she is doing and she tells him not so well. They go to talk about it.
Frankie gets up and looks through the window at Jennifer and Jack. Jennifer begs Jack to squeeze her hand if he can hear her voice. She finally feels a tiny squeeze and is ecstatic ...begs him to hang on for her and the kids...can’t live without him.
Patrick tells Hope that he doesn’t want to put any pressure on her but will be there for her. She’s grateful. He talks about him and Alma wanting children and suggests that later on they take their child to the island...place it was conceived...tells her he’s really excited. Hope smiles and tells him that he’ll have a big part in the baby’s life and will be a great dad. They hug. Bo and Billie witness their closeness. Bo is upset.
Sami’s Loft and Lucas’s Loft
Just as E.J. starts to leave, Sami calls him back and gives him the note. She wants him to promise that he won’t hate her. He promises, says he won’t judge her, reads it, and asks if it’s true...did she do this?
Lucas and Carrie are sleeping through the fire in their apartment. Austin looks up from outside and rushes into the building.
Sami denies doing what it says in the note. She thinks someone is trying to come between her and Austin. E.J. wonders what she is worried about if she didn’t do it. Sami feels sorry for herself. He wants her to be honest with him...asks if she forced Lexie to do anything. Sami doesn’t want to answer him. He wants her to trust him. She admits that she did do something terrible...is a horrible person...goes on about thinking Lexie would tell the truth at the wedding and doesn’t know why she didn’t. E.J. speculates that whoever wrote the note might have something on Lexie as well. Sami is shocked. She thinks that now that two people know the truth that it will come out all the faster and destroy her...talks about Austin, Carrie, and Lucas.
E.J. picks up on it and asks about the affect it will have on Lucas and Carrie. Sami cries that she just wanted to be with Austin and doesn’t know what to do. He suggests going to the police. She gets hysterical and tells him that her dad is the police commander and will kill her. He then suggests that she just ignore it. Sami wants to fight. E.J. recommends she burn the note and allows himself a little smirk behind her back when she does.
Austin breaks into Lucas’ apartment...asks about Will...and carries Carrie out. Lucas tries to follow but faints.
E.J. thinks that now that note has been burned that Sami’s troubles are gone. Sami doesn’t think so. She still wants to find out who sent her the note. E.J. tells her to calm down and keep her hands clean. He will find out who did it and make sure they never bother her again. Sami thanks him and they hug. The fire alarm goes off and they rush out.
Austin has Carrie on the floor in the hallway and is giving CPR. E.J. calls 911. Sami asks about Will. Austin tells her he’s at a friend’s. She rushes screaming into the apartment looking for Lucas. E.J. appears and carries Lucas out into the hallway for her. Something else collapses. A female fire attendant yells at them to get out because the place is about to go. They get Lucas into the hallway. Carrie coughs her way to consciousness. Sami desperately tries to get Lucas to wake up. She calls his name...tells him she loves him...gives CPR...Lucas wakes up and calls her name. E.J. watches.

Austin agrees to watch Carrie while Lucas goes to get coffee. Austin opens up his heart to a sleeping Carrie…tonight’s happenings really woke him up and he can’t lose her…he’ll take being friends if that’s all he can get but hopes that someday…she’ll come back to him…always love her. Kayla asks her daughter to consider giving up racing for her. Stephanie gets upset. She tells her mom that she loves racing and it’s not just a hobby or a job, it’s her life. Kayla worries that every time Stephanie gets behind the wheel she could be killed. Stephanie fires back that Kayla works with infectious diseases...until a few days ago she was the only parent she had but when Kayla said she was going to Darfur, she didn’t try to stand in her way. Steve shows up and gives a piercing whistle to call time out.
Kayla plays up the fact that Stephanie shouldn’t want to miss any more time with her father. Stephanie invites him to watch her race next time. She wants him to referee her argument with her mom. Steve tries to stay out of it. He tells Stephanie that he knows her mama isn’t happy about her racing cars and that he won’t lie to her...it scares him too. Stephanie thinks they are being overprotective parents. She argues that she’s like her papa and it’s in her genes...she has to race just like Kayla had to be a doctor and Steve had to be a cop. Steve tells her that if that is how she really feels, they she has to follow her heart. Kayla isn’t a happy camper. He tells her that they can’t lie to kids. He talks about how glad he is to have Stephanie and her mama around him now...tells her to have her career and climb her mountain. He asks her if she has a special guy. She just smiles.
Stephanie asks her papa if it’s possible to love somebody before you really know that person...not a crush but real love. He thinks he’s the wrong guy to be asking. She tells them that the guy is a race car driver that she has looked up to for a long time. Steve turns to Kayla and tells her that she raised a pretty confidant young woman. Kayla thinks Stephanie is full of surprises.
Steve and Kayla are alone now. He tells her how impressed he is with their daughter. Kayla wonders who Stephanie’s guy is.
Max and Chelsea

Kissing…more kissing…more…more…no one has a condom so they give it a rest. Max asks the million-dollar exclusivity question again. She lies (fingers crossed behind her back) and says yes. Max starts making love to her again. Stephanie watches sadly from behind the bushes.
Kiriakis Loft: Philip and Belle, Shawn and Mimi
The quad walks into the loft. Philip tells them he won’t mince words but this never should have happened and the only sane thing to do, especially while they are only dealing with a few embryonic cells, is to terminate both pregnancies right now. Belle stubbornly says “absolutely not.” Shawn quietly says “no way will he let that happen. Mimi looks very upset. Philip tells her that he loves her but prefers to have a baby with his own wife. Mimi quietly agrees and says that she would prefer to have a child with her husband. Philip can’t think of anything else they can do but go the abortion route. Shawn says that abortion is wrong unless it’s because of rape or the mother’s health is in jeopardy. Shawn can’t condone a procedure that will take an innocent’s life. Belle looks like she won the lottery.
Philip is upset at how the hospital messed up so badly...none of them wanted any of this and he doesn’t know who he should sue first...they’ve all been abused by this situation. He argues that both their wives are having babies without their consent...thinks this qualifies as rape. Shawn knows it’s a bad situation...doesn’t know what the fallout will be...argues again that the babies are innocent. He talks about how he lost his brother because some girl was selfish...tells Philip not to ask him to go through this. He wants this baby/his baby to live no matter who the mother is. Belle looks quietly pleased. Mimi breaks down and says she can’t take this and runs out. Shawn calls out her name and runs after her.
Philip turns to Belle and remarks on how very quiet she has been. Belle plays timid (and not very well) and tells him she doesn’t want to upset him. He clues in and throws out a few uncomfortable home truths. He accuses her of wanting to keep the baby she is carrying and wonders how she expects that not to upset him. He warns her that he has done all he can to tolerate a friendship with Shawn for the sake of their marriage but don’t think for one second that he will stand there and watch Belle have Shawn’s baby.
Belle gets on her high horse (sorry but I don’t think she has much of a leg to stand on her...especially when she is secretly loving the fact that she is carrying a married man’s baby...sigh...). She figures out that Philip is frustrated...throws a zinger at him regarding his own birth history for which he thanks her sarcastically for reminding him. She tells him that she might not even be pregnant and then adds another zinger...just wants nature to take its course and things will work out the way they are meant to. Philip sees RED. He says: “You think this was meant to be? What else was meant to be? Who gets custody of which baby? What do we say to Claire? It’s a nightmare situation and not what I want for my family. Abortion is the only option and I’m just asking you to consider it!”
Philip then accuses Belle of wanting Shawn’s baby. Belle gets on another high horse and yells at him that she hasn’t ever given him a reason to make an accusation like that (oh my but her nose must be growing and growing and growing). She tells him that they both have to make the best of the situation and tells him that she is going to bed. She turns when she hears a crash. Philip’s anger has gotten the best of him and he knocks a few things off the table. Under no circumstances does Belle look scared...nope not one iota. She’s too busy rubbing her stomach with a look of contentment on her face.
Brady Loft: Shawn and Mimi
Mimi is in bed softly crying when Shawn comes in. He sits down on the edge of the bed and she jerks away from him. He tries to touch her and she cringes and jerks away again. He looks very upset and apologizes for being so stupid...just started talking about how bad abortions are and forgot about hers. Mimi wishes she could forget but she has to live with it for the rest of her life...and because of that she has to have a surrogate to carry her baby because she can’t...and now they find out it isn’t even their baby. Mimi looks at him and gets very frustrated. She cries out at him asking if it doesn’t even bother him that Phil is the father of her baby. He tells her that of course it bothers him.
Shawn tells her that he wants a family with her and only her. He talks about the dream he and Belle had when they were young of having kids. Mimi thanks him for reminding her...not. He thinks it’s all a cosmic joke or something. She doesn’t think there is anything funny about this. He agrees and asks her if how she feels about it all...puts his foot in his mouth and adds...after everything she’s been through...the guilt she still feels... Mimi gets angry and throws the question back at him asking if he thinks she should feel guilty. She argues that she would never ask the surrogate to abort the baby unless it was the surrogate’s choice. She can’t believe how happy and hopeful she and Shawn were and now everything has fallen apart. Shawn tries to comfort her and tells her that it hasn’t fallen apart...they can still raise this baby together...they have so much love in their lives...wants her to trust him...they can do this...both of them and the baby can be a family.
Shawn pulls Mimi to him and holds her tight. She whispers that there is nothing she wants more than to raise a child with him. He feels the same way. She goes on and says: “but Belle is having your baby...have you any idea how that makes me feel? You loved her...you wanted to spend your life with her.” Shawn tells her that things happened the way they did and he can’t change that. He asks her if she is listening...really listening when he tells her he loves her. She tells him that she loves him so much, more than he will ever know and wants to spend her life with him...wants to go mountain climbing with him when they are sixty and wants to do the laundry with him...lol... He thinks she is the most amazing woman. She tells him that she is the woman who will never be the mother of his child (foreshadowing maybe?) because she is never going through IVF again. She is so scared that this baby with Belle will come between them and ruin all of their dreams. Shawn hugs her to him. He wishes she would just have a little faith that everything will work out.
Preview:
Hope tells Patrick that the baby is his and needs him and so does she.
EJ argues that Sami needs to go to the authorities. Sami is adamant that she is not telling the police.
Carrie tells Austin that they need to talk.
Shawn sees an upset Belle and asks if something happened to the baby. Belle goes all teary-eyes and says no but that she thinks her marriage is over. She goes into another married man’s arms for comfort.

Pat’s Spoilers
The Kiriakis Loft: Belle comes back from wherever she was (hmm … sure wasn’t worried about Claire, was she?). Phil says he made coffee and when she doesn’t answer he says your welcome. Belle preaches that she can’t have coffee because she’s pregnant. Philip distinctively remembers Dr. Bader telling her she could have up to two cups of coffee a day but they wouldn’t want to do anything to put Shawn’s baby at risk. Belle stares than snarls that she wouldn’t put any baby at risk. He reminds her that she drank coffee every morning that she was pregnant with Claire. She insists she didn’t know she was pregnant – this is the first trimester – the most important time. Phil points out that she doesn’t even know she’s pregnant yet. She’s the one that said things go wrong with in vitro all the time – that we should just let nature take its course. But your not taking any chances on nature now, are you? Belle said after what they went through with Claire’s liver transplant what he can possibly find wrong with her wanting to have a healthy baby even if you don’t want it. Philip says it doesn’t matter if I don’t want it – you do. When they had Claire he thought their marriage was finally cemented – no matter what kind of past she had with Shawn, they were a family now - he didn’t have to worry anymore about her having second thoughts. That baby (pointing to her stomach) changes everything. Belle plays dumb and asks why. He says because you and Shawn will be forever bonded and you expect me to sit here and watch as you two grow closer as his baby grows inside my wife … he throw stuff. She asks him how he thinks she feels. Does he think she likes the fact that he’s having a baby with Mimi? (Oh good one Belle … LOL – like you care … NOT). Thankfully Philip is on to her. He yells that it’s not the same thing. She’s really reaching now when she says way because the women are just supposed to accept it. Philip screams because I’ve never been in love with Mimi and you’ve never stopped loving him. He gets the patented slack-jawed open mouthed stare – insert rolling eyes.
Philip says I’m right, aren’t I? You still love him and you always have. Belle avoids the question by saying she loves him and she loves their daughter and regardless of what he might think she is committed to their marriage and to their family but … Philip says but what? Belle gets defensive when cornered and says what do you want me to say – that I don’t still have feelings for Shawn. That’s exactly what he wants her to say. Belle gets all sanctimonious – so you want me to lie to you? (Hmm … why should today be any different than every other day of their marriage – she lied to him on the altar and hasn’t stopped … oh I get it … she doesn’t have to lie now because she thinks she has the leverage she needs now to get Shawn to leave Mimi … so she wants Philip out of the picture … got it!!!) He was her first boyfriend. Philip has to remind her that he is her husband. Belle then says it’s not her fault. Philip says and you won’t even consider doing anything about it. She knows that he is her husband and every other decision she would expect them to make together but his is her body that they’re talking about. Phil yells – yeah, you’re pro life – he gets it. If they had gotten pregnant the conventional way they wouldn’t even know about it yet. We’re talking about a couple of cells. Belle condescendingly snarls – a couple of living cells. When they went to be implanted he was calling the embryo their baby. Philip finally asks the question that reveals Belle’s true beliefs – If the mix-up hadn’t been with Shawn, if it had been with a total stranger – would you still insist on having the baby? Insert that blank open mouthed stare. Philip knows the answer. It’s NO. NO you wouldn’t. You want this baby because it’s Shawn’s and you’re just trying to justify it to yourself and to me. Belle lies and says it’s not true. Philip tells her she has a choice to make – she can have a future with Shawn and his baby or him and Claire – she can’t have both. She whines and snivels – don’t do this. Philip walks out and yells at her to make her choice.
Hospital: Nurse Betty asks Shawn and Mimi how they’re doing today. Mimi says how do you think? Shawn says they are there because their surrogate was having some tests done to see how the embryo is doing. The nurse says she already had them. Everything is perfect except for … Mimi gets up and walks away. The nurse tells Shawn she is so sorry for the mix-up. They all are. Shawn tells Mimi it wasn’t the nurse’s fault. Mimi asks him how he knows. Shawn admits Mimi is right. He doesn’t know. He says at least we know our baby is doing fine. Mimi says ‘our baby?’ It’s mine and Philip’s baby or did you forget that. Shawn says no he didn’t forget. It’s your baby, it’s our baby. Mimi says yeah, right. Shawn sees his mom with a nurse and wonders what she is doing there. Mimi says maybe the hospital messed up her life too. Shawn is going to tell her about the baby … the babies. He wants Mimi to come with him. Mimi says no you go talk to her. Patrick sees Mimi and asks her what she is doing there. She hugs him. He asks - didn’t the IVF work. She says oh it worked. It was implanted in the surrogate and she and the baby are doing fine so far. Patrick wants to know what is wrong then. Mimi says she is going to lose her husband because of it. Hope tells Bo that she is there because of Jennifer and because she was there she thought she might as well get Dr. Bader to prescribe some vitamins. She wants to know what he’s doing there. He said well you heard about the IVF yesterday. She says you told me. He realises she hasn’t heard the news – there was a mix-up with the sperm. Philip is the father of Mimi’s baby and he wound up being the father of Belle’s. Hope says OMG and asks if he is alright. He shrugs and says better than Mimi. Hope imagines that possibly, maybe part of him is happy that Belle is having his baby. He says Mom I’m married to Mimi. Hope knows that he loves Mimi but she is right, isn’t she. Lucas strokes Carrie’s hair. She says Austin’s name than realises it’s Lucas. Lucas says you’re dreaming of Austin.
Lucas says it makes sense that she was dreaming about Austin because he saved both of their lives. Her throat is sore so he gives her some ice water. She says some wedding night. Lucas says maybe they should have gone to a hotel after all. She says never wants to see another candle ever again. They’re grateful that they and the baby are fine. Lexie is probably taking tests as a precautionary measure. She asks about the apartment. Lucas tells her that they will need some new things. The fire damage was mostly in the bedrooms. He’s already called the insurance adjuster and he’s getting a contractor in to remodel and paint. He suggests that they extend their honeymoon while the work is being done. He lists all the places they can go. She can’t wait. Lucas says they are going to have the perfect honeymoon, come back to the perfect apartment, their perfect marriage and their perfect baby. Carrie wants Will to know that he is as much a part of this family as the baby is. Lucas tells Carrie when he stood at the altar with her and slipped that ring on her finger he finally understood what it meant to be happy. He won’t lose that – he won’t lose her or the baby – they kiss.
Patrick asks how the hospital could make a mistake like that. Mimi doesn’t know but it’s a complete mess now like she’s being punished. He asks her punished for what. Mimi says maybe the abortion, for being a Lockhart – nothing good ever happens to her anyway. He tells her that is not true. She asks why he is at the hospital. He says to support Jen. She asks about Jack. She asks about Hope – did he find out who the father of the baby was. He tells her that he is. She hugs him – thinks that is great. He’s going to be a great dad. She assumes that Hope is going through with the divorce so the two of them can get married and raise the child. He doesn’t know if that will happen. Hope hasn’t decided what she is going to do about Bo or about him and he won’t pressure her. Mimi says what about the baby. Patrick says he made it clear that he will be there for her but he won’t rush her into a decision. She was with Bo for a long time and if she is going to leave him he wants Hope to be positive. Mimi says what if she doesn’t. Patrick says he loves her and he wants her to be happy. No matter what happens they have decided that he will be part of the baby’s life. Mimi grins and says you’re having a baby. Patrick says and so are you. Mimi’s smile fades as she says not with the man I love. She could deal with that part but knowing Shawn is having a baby with Belle – they were together for a long, long time just like his parents. What if this brings them back together? Patrick hugs her. Hope wants to know how Shawn feels about Belle having his baby. Shawn says it’s weird. He says I love Mimi, she is my wife but for how many years did Belle and I talk about getting married and having a family together. Hope says she knows but life gets in the way. Shawn says I wouldn’t be married to Mimi if he didn’t love her with all his heart. Hope knows that. Shawn says but when Claire was born he knew that Belle and Philip were going to stay together but she shouldn’t have been having that baby with Philip, it should have been with him. Hope says and now she is. Shawn says yeah but that shouldn’t change anything. Hope tells him to stop looking at life in terms of what should and shouldn’t be. The only question he needs to ask himself is who is his future going to be with – Mimi or Belle and his baby?
Hope knows this is hard but Shawn has to … needs to decide who he is going to be with. Shawn says just like you have to decide. He asks if she got the results of the test. She says it’s Patrick’s. Shawn says good – are you happy with that – Hope turns around. Shawn didn’t mean – he understands – he just thinks she would be better off … It’s none of his business. Hope says it is his business. This is his family too. Shawn says it’s not much of a family anymore. She wants to know what he is talking about. He tells her that this is obviously her decision. She’s asked dad to move out and asked for a divorce and the only thing that called that into question was being sure who the father of this baby was. Now that she knows that it’s not Dad’s maybe this is a sign that it was okay that she asked him for a divorce and she can move on with Patrick. Hopes says let me ask you this? So are you saying that because Belle is having your baby that maybe the two of you are meant to be together? Shawn says it’s not the same thing. He hasn’t even slept with Belle. He will not do the same thing to Mimi that Dad to her. He will not break his vows to his wife just like he wouldn’t ask Belle to break her vows. Hope smiles and says that is very noble of him but you know what? From her experience, when two people truly love each, when they belong together – there is nothing in this world that could ever keep them apart. Shawn wants to know if she is talking about Belle and him or herself and Dad. From the look on Hope’s face it’s very obvious she is talking about herself and Bo!
There’s a quick shot of Phil behind the wheel of a race car saying Damn you, Shawn as the tachometer rises … LOL! Shawn asks Hope if she is considering taking Dad back. Hope doesn’t know but she does know that she hates to see her son caught in the middle of this. Whatever happened or happens between his Dad and her, they’re both his parents. She never wants him to feel like he has to take sides. Shawn says he can’t forgive him … Hope says Shawn, he is your father. Shawn says and Zack was my brother. He knows a lot of people don’t think they were close because of the big age difference but it was the opposite. Because he was in Zack’s life as an adult and he took care of him – it made him realise that he really wanted to be a dad. And now he’s going to be. It’s a little weird that he’s going to be a brother and a new dad all at the same time. He says he will be there for her just like he was with Zack. Hope knows he will be. He tells her that Mimi and he have a good marriage and he could never do to her what Dad has done to you. He won’t break her heart. Hope says so instead you’ll break your own heart? Shawn says that Belle and Philip have a good marriage (he really doesn’t know Belle at all any more, does he?) and a child. He would never forgive himself if he came between them. Philip and he have been friends forever – they’re related, Claire is his god-daughter... Hope agrees that there is so much to think about but he loves Belle and she loves him. Shawn says and we’re married to other people. Hope tells him that she is not saying that he doesn’t love Mimi and that Belle doesn’t love Philip but it is a different kind of love. He knows that in his heart. She doesn’t want to see Mimi and Philip get hurt but she certainly doesn’t want her son going through life missing out on real love, real happiness. Shawn says he knows. He tried to win Belle back and he did things he’s not necessarily proud of but she chose to stay with Philip and I chose to move on. Hope says I don’t think you did. Let me ask you this. How did you feel in your heart when you heard there was a mix-up and you found out that Belle was having your baby? Shawn is honest – that what I’ve always dreamed of is happening … but, Mom, it’s wrong. Hope tells him that true love can never be wrong. Shawn says he has to go – Mimi is waiting for him. Hope hugs him and tells him she loves him no matter what he decides. He leaves the room and Belle says Shawn … LMAO at his expression – she is the last person on earth that he wants to see. And just how did Belle know he was at the hospital. Is that where she went in the morning – did she follow Shawn and Mimi when they left their apartment??? Another hmm … where’s Claire – Philip’s not home to look after her or make arrangements for a sitter – did she just leave her upstairs in her crib??? Patrick tells Mimi that Shawn loves her and he’ll always be there for her as long as she’s honest with him. Mimi says she knows. They hug and part ways. Shawn asks Belle if something happened to the baby. She turns on the fake tears and says no but she thinks her marriage is over. Then she grabs him.
Another short scene of Philip behind the wheel driving like a speed demon. He wipes his eye and the car swerves. Shawn wants to know what she means – her marriage is over. She answers that Philip and she had a huge fight about the baby and you. Shawn says me? Belle says yeah, he said I was only having this baby because it was yours. That if the mix-up had happened with a stranger that she would have agreed to terminate the pregnancy. Shawn shrugs and says would you? Belle tap dances again, turns on the fake waterworks and says that she told Philip she loved him but that doesn’t mean that she still doesn’t care about him (Shawn). They spent half their lives together. Philip then said she had to make a decision. She has to choose either him and Claire or you and this baby. She knows that he is her husband and she knows that he is Claire’s father but having this baby, having your baby – it just feels right. They hug – Mimi has seen and overheard this. Patrick finds Hope in the examine room. He brings her a stuffed animal – a stork carrying a baby. Hope starts talking about Zack and his stuffed animals. He had just stopped playing with them – he wanted to give them to the kids that weren’t … she stops as she gets emotional – as lucky as him. Patrick apologises. He doesn’t want to make this any harder for her. If his presence in her life … She stops him and takes his hand and puts it on her stomach and says this baby needs you and I need you. She adds thank god you’re in our life.
Sami’s: Sami re-reads the note but hides it as soon as Austin comes in from his run. He asks her if everything is alright – it looks like something is bothering her. She’s just worried about Carrie and Lucas. If he hadn’t been outside and seen the smoke – they could have all died. He says but they’re okay and so are we. He’s all sweaty – going to take a shower. There’s a knock on the door. It’s E.J. Before he can say anything she says someone is trying to destroy my relationship with Austin – you have to help me. As Austin showers he has a fantasy that Carrie joins him. Carrie tells him that it was a mistake to marry Lucas. He’s the one she wants – kiss. EJ tells Sami to calm down. She can’t be calm. If the truth comes out Austin will leave her, Carrie will leave Lucas and everything she has worked for will be destroyed. EJ asks her if that isn’t what she really wants. At the hospital she seemed very concerned about Lucas. She says she cares about Lucas – he’s the father of her son but she’s not in love with him. She picks up the note and says what am I supposed to do – keep burning the note. EJ says the second note changes everything. He’s worried because they don’t know how crazy or how determined this guy is. He’s not an expert but the wording of the note – he would go to the police. Sami refuses. EJ tells her this is not a game. This person is not just trying to break her and Austin up. This person is enjoying torturing her and his greatest fear is that the person goes from something mental like the notes to something physical. Sami tells him he’s scaring her. He says good because you need to take this seriously. This person is stalking her – her life could be in danger. She needs to go to the authorities. Sami is adamant that she will not tell the police or anyone else.
Austin’s shower fantasy continues. He breaks the kiss and says they can’t do this. She’s married to his brother – she’s having his baby. Carrie says you’re the one I love. He tells her that she belongs with Lucas and he belongs with Sami – she’s his future, Carrie is his past. End of fantasy. Sami tells EJ that her dad is the police commander – if she tells him what she did to her sister, he would never forgive her. EJ wants to know what she did to Carrie. She doesn’t think the details are relevant. He tells her if she doesn’t trust him he doesn’t think he can’t help her. She says she does trust him – she showed him the note – now she needs him to keep her secret. He will but his concern is that this person won’t stop and things could get a lot worse. Sami is frustrated. She doesn’t know what to do – she doesn’t know who is doing this to her. EJ tells her that she needs to take away the power that this person has over her. She asks him how she’s supposed to do that. EJ says by telling Austin the truth. Sami says she can’t tell him. Austin steps into the room and asks Sami what can’t you tell me?
Sami says she was planning a surprise for him and she asked EJ to distract him by keeping him out of the apartment while she planned a romantic dinner for them. She says it doesn’t matter now because he knows about it. Austin says they have a lot of work to do but he would love to have dinner with her. He leaves to take care of some errands. EJ says WOW – he doesn’t think he’s ever seen someone come up with something so convincing so quickly before. Sami says years of practice. EJ says she has to set that aside and tell him the truth. Sami says Austin loves her – she won’t ruin that. EJ tells her if Austin finds out from this anonymous letter writer things are going to be a hundred times worse. She needs to explain to him what she did and trust in his forgiveness. Sami tells him he has no idea what she has been through with Austin over the years. For him to propose to her – he only did it because he thinks she changed. If I tell him what I did he’ll think I haven’t changed and it will be over. EJ says that’s the point. If she’s honest with him she will be showing him that she has changed. He’ll see that she deserves his love. Trust in his forgiveness and things will work out and she’ll be able to stop worrying. Sami says what if he can’t forgive me? EJ says you’ll still be able to stop worrying. This could be her last chance. Sami says you’re right. If I want this relationship to be different than all the others that have failed I have to change which means she has to tell Austin the truth. EJ is very proud of her. Sami hopes that Austin will understand and forgive her. EJ says he thinks he will – he would. Sami says but you don’t even know what I’ve done. EJ says it doesn’t matter. He knows that for her to risk everything to tell him the truth that show him how much she loves him and Austin will realise that. Sami says she doesn’t have a choice. She knows that if the person writing these notes tells Austin than she really will have no hope. EJ says at least she’s taking the power away from this person – he hugs her. The gloved hand lurks at the window.
Carrie & Lucas’ apartment: They’re looking over the charred remains of their bedroom. Carrie says they’ll never get the smell out of their clothes. Lucas says they’ll get all new clothes. He knows their wedding night wasn’t perfect but their honeymoon is going to be perfect. They kiss. Austin enters. Lucas tells him they are airing out the apartment. Austin is happy to see that Carrie is home from the hospital. Lucas thanks Austin for saving them. Austin says he would have done the same. Lucas gets a call from the contractor and goes into the bedroom. Austin tells Carrie that she gave him a scare last night. She tells him they need to talk. Austin says its sounds serious. Carrie says it is. Lucas tells them he has to go meet with the contractor. He won’t make any decisions without her input. Carrie tells Austin that she heard him last night at the hospital. She heard him say that he still loved her – she heard it all.
Preview: Chelsea to Max – Do you really think I could be in trouble? Max – Yeah Chelsea. You could be in some huge trouble here. Carrie to Austin – Do you really think it’s a good idea to marry my sister if you’re still in love with me? EJ to Sami – If I had the opportunity to be with a woman like you, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second. Shawn yelling at Belle – Don’t put yourself and your baby at risk – our baby. Mimi overhears.

Pat’s Spoilers
Sami’s: EJ wants to know when Sami is going to tell Austin the truth. She says soon, why do you think I’m going to chicken out. That isn’t the case – he’s afraid for her. This person is threatening her, stalking her. If Sami doesn’t tell Austin this other person will. When he first came to Salem all he heard was that Sami Brady had changed, she says she wants to change so just do it. She wants to but she is afraid of losing Austin. EJ tells her she has to take control of her life. Sami wants that and admits she hasn’t had any control since she put this thing into motion. She knows better than anyone how forgiving Austin is but she thinks this time she went too far. She has loved him and wanted him since she was a teenager and now he has proposed to her. She’s afraid of losing everything she has worked so hard for. Sami declares that she just can’t tell Austin. Maybe the person sending the notes doesn’t know everything. Maybe this time she’ll get away with it. EJ asks her if she has ever gotten away with anything. She admits she hasn’t but maybe this time – everything fell into place, Austin proposed – maybe that’s a sign it was meant to be. EJ doesn’t think so. Sami says it’s so complicated – the only easy, uncomplicated relationship she has is with him. He likes that but he’s sure she has other friends. She tells no – he’s her only friend. He says like he feels like he’s found his new best friend in Salem. Sami likes the idea of being best friends with Prince Charming. EJ laughs and then says they have to try and figure out who is writing the notes. After many questions and answers when Sami tells EJ that Abe got a note to go to a motel room … EJ says did you ever think that the person who sent Abe the note is the same person that sent you the notes. They have to figure out who knew all this information … Sami says me – I’m the only one – she’s scared. He says that’s good – she needs to take control of her life.
Sami doesn’t know how she can tell Austin the truth. Because of her he’s not with Carrie. Carrie is now married to Lucas and pregnant with his child. She’s a horrible person and she’s done terrible things. The truth is she doesn’t deserve to be with Austin. EJ says you can’t change the past but you can change the present. She’s not the only person who has done things they regret. Sami appreciates EJ saying that but this was her last chance. When Austin hears what she has done he will not forgive her just like Lucas didn’t. EJ doubts that. She’s a beautiful, fascinating woman. If he had a chance to be with a woman like her he wouldn’t hesitate for a second. EJ tells her true love understands and true love forgives. If she and Austin are meant to be together, he’ll forgive her. That’s what she is afraid of – what if they’re not meant to be. EJ asks her if it would be the end of the world – he doesn’t think Austin is her one true love, is he? He doesn’t know what her secret is but he knows it involves, Austin, Carrie and Lucas. Sami explains that Carrie and Austin were married once and she and Lucas were together but Lucas gave up on her. EJ says so you settled for the next best thing. Sami says no but she Sami if Austin is settling for her. EJ thinks Austin would be crazy then. Sami says Carrie is everyone’s first choice – the perfect sister. She’s done some stupid things herself but Sami is the one that gets blamed for it – she guesses she deserves it. The hand lurks. EJ tells her to think about the history she has with them all – they obviously still care for her – they haven’t turned their backs on her. Sami feels that if she tells Austin the truth one of two things will happen. He’ll forgive her and they’ll be happy or he’ll turn his back on her and she’ll spend the rest of her life alone. EJ doesn’t think she’ll ever be alone. Sami doesn’t think anyone will want anything to do with her after Austin leaves her. EJ doesn’t agree. He says they need to find out who is writing the notes and she needs to find a way to tell Austin the truth. Sami agrees. EJ is proud of her. Sami appreciates all his help and she gives him a hug just before he leaves. Austin returns. Sami hugs him and tells him she has to talk to him about something.
Carrie & Lucas’ apartment: At first Austin tries to convince Carrie that because she was sedated she didn’t hear everything she said. When he realises that she did. He says he loves her. She thought they had settled this before she married Lucas. The fire was a wake-up call for him. He realised he can’t live without her in his life. He is glad they are friends. He thought that when they divorced and were living apart it was over but he guesses it never was. He always wanted another chance with her. They were so close to having it … he stops … it’s hard for him – she’s living so close. He loves her and he always will. He knows what they have to do – nothing. Austin never meant her to hear him. He’s not going to do anything to break up her marriage. She’s having Lucas’ baby – marriage vows are for life. (I guess theirs didn’t count???) He was speaking from the heart because he’s grateful she’s alive. She’s grateful to because if it wasn’t for him her and her baby might not be alive. Carrie says she heard him say that he hoped that she would come back to him. Austin says he does dream of having a life with her but she chose Lucas and he will never understand that. Carrie doesn’t think she has an answer that would satisfy him. She hurt him so much – she can’t believe her he forgave her for being unfaithful to him. Marrying him was the best thing she ever did and she threw it all away. He says they both made big mistakes. He put Sami’s needs in front of hers. Carrie feels she should have been more understanding. Austin says it was the last straw – he was unfair to her. Carrie says Sami is right – she is a spoiled brat. She’s trying to be grown up here – Austin deserves someone who will treat him better than she did. Austin says is that about me and you or me and Sami. Carrie understands why he is marrying Sami – she loves her too. Austin thanks her for understanding – he wishes they would have had this conversation months ago. It’s too late for them now – she’s married – he won’t break up a family. Carrie asks him if it’s really a good idea for him to marry her sister considering he’s still in love with her. Austin doesn’t know how things got so messed up but they have to get on with their lives. He wishes her nothing but the best. Carrie wants him to be happy too with Sami. Austin says he really does love Sami it’s just different – it’s not like you. She’s been a big part of his life for a long time – she’s special. He will not regret it again.
Brady Pub: Chelsea thinks this is a nice impromptu breakfast. She had a good time – almost a great time. Does Max think she’s a tramp? He asks her why she would think that. She asks then why did he think she goes around carrying a twelve pack of condoms. She mentions that there is always an excuse – maybe he doesn’t want to be with her. He asks her if she wanted to get pregnant last night. She says no then thanks him for looking out for her. He thinks that it was for the best. They had spent half the night arguing – he wants it to be special. Chelsea sees Stephanie looking through the window so she leans in and kisses Max. Max wants to know if she meant it when she said she wanted to date only him. Chelsea crosses her fingers and lies to him by saying of course she meant it. Max wants to know if she’s ready to settle down? No more flasks of alcohol, no more getting arrested, no more picking up strange guys and getting her face plastered all over the internet. She says no but we can still have fun, right? Max leaves the table – Chelsea reaches for the flask in her purse but Max’s cell phone rings. She sees that it is from Stephanie so she shuts the phone off. Max returns and as they get ready to leave an envelope falls out of Chelsea’s purse. Max sees it’s from the District Court – Community Service. He asks Chelsea what it is. She says she doesn’t know – she has a lot of them in her purse but as he can see she didn’t open them. They’re probably about some boring work program. He reminds her that she got 200 hours of community service instead of jail but that’s exactly where she will end up on contempt of court charges. He opens the letter as Chelsea asks him if he really thinks she could be in trouble. He scans the letter and says you can be in huge trouble. Chelsea reads the letter. She has less than one week to comply with the court order or she’ll end up being in contempt of court. He tells her if she ignores it she’ll end up in jail. She says thanks to you I didn’t miss the deadline. Being with him just might save her life. They kiss. They are about to walk out when Stephanie arrives. She tells him she’s been trying to reach him but his cell phone is turned off. Max says no it isn’t – then yes it is. Stephanie says it went to voice mail. Max asks Chelsea if she turned off his phone. Stephanie says we don’t have time for this. She tells him that Philip was in a bad car accident at the racetrack. Max asks her what he was doing? She says about 200 mph at least that’s what the rescue squad said when they pulled him out of your car. Max says – my car. Stephanie tells him it was totalled – there’s nothing left. Max asks if Philip is going to be okay. Chelsea asks if Belle knows. Stephanie says Belle, Mimi and Shawn are at the track. Max and Stephanie take off.
Hospital: Belle and Shawn are walking down the corridor. Belle is sorry – maybe she can’t help the way she feels but she should be able to control what she does about it. She can’t believe what she said or didn’t say to Philip earlier. Shawn tells her she’ll have a chance to clear things up with him when he comes back. Belle says if he comes back – she has to go. As she’s walking away Shawn says Philip will be back – he has to. Mimi comes up behind him. Shawn asks if she talked with Lauren. Mimi says she did. She’s fine – she’s being the perfect surrogate. Shawn wants to know if Mimi told her about the Mimi. Mimi says yeah sure – she’ll have a different husband checking up on her now – she had to be informed. Shawn asks ‘how did she take it?’ Mimi is at her sarcastic best when she says fine, a baby is a baby, right? Shawn says well we know that’s not true. Mimi thinks that should at least have her meet Philip. Shawn thinks that is a good idea. He apologises for not being there when she was talking to her. Mimi says it’s okay – he had to be with his mom. She talked to Patrick. Shawn says so you know my Mom is having his baby. Mimi asks him how he feels about that. She knows that he said he didn’t want his Dad to be the father. Shawn admits to saying that but … he wishes things were different but he doesn’t want his dad to hurt his mom again. Mimi then asks how Hope is doing. Shawn says she is having a hard time. His parents have been together for along time and no matter how much she’s hurting a part of her will always love him. Mimi says that’s what she told Patrick. Just like you and Belle (Belle is now behind them) … together for a long time. Now you two are having a baby together. Shawn notices that Belle is there. Belle tells Mimi she is sorry. She hopes Mimi doesn’t feel the same way Philip does that I’m like happy about this? (Rolling my eyes at the valley girl speak and inflection – so inappropriate!) Mimi says I know it’s not your fault but … Belle ignores her and in her valley girl speak just keeps on talking – Thank you. God because Philip is already so angry that he just stormed out of the loft – slammed the door – I’m so worried about what he might do.
Mimi asks Belle if she knows where Philip went. She doesn’t – he walked out and slammed the door. Mimi says because you said you didn’t want to end the pregnancy? Belle says that’s what it comes down to – he questioned her motives. You all have always known I’m pro-life. Mimi says yeah I do. Belle says so you’re not going to ask your surrogate to … Mimi says God no but that’s really none of your business, Belle. Belle asks her why she would say that and then stares at Shawn … Mimi sees Shawn and Belle’s exchanged look and Mimi gives Shawn the look – which he sees as well … LOL! Belle lectures Mimi – we are all tied together by these babies. Mimi points out the obvious and says – you know, you really seem happy about that too. Belle looks confused. Mimi explains that it’s different for her and Philip. We are having a baby together but we’ve never been in love. The two of you share a big romantic history together. You were very much in love with each other. Shawn looks like he’d like the floor to open up and swallow him – LMAO … too funny. Mimi wants Belle to look her in the eye and tell her that she’s not thrilled to be having a baby with Shawn. How can this not bring you closer? How can you resist the feelings I know you still have? Shawn asks Mimi if he can talk to her in private. Belle does not allow Mimi to answer – she says in a very snarky tone that she thinks that is a really good idea. She’s going to make some phone calls to try and find her husband. Shawn and Mimi are hugging when Belle returns – she still can’t get hold of Philip. Shawn says well he wanted to be alone – it’s not surprising that he’s not answering his phone. She gets that he wanted to go and blow off some steam but she’s getting really worried here. She has a really bad feeling …
Racetrack: Philip is driving at high speed. He gets something in his eye and rubs it. He loses control of the car. Crash! We see the car overturned and Philip unconscious inside. Stephanie rushes to the car and sees that Philip is inside. She calls 911 to report the accident. She tells them the driver is unconscious – she doesn’t know if he’s breathing. The track officials aren’t around because it’s an off day. She says he wasn’t supposed to be driving – it’s not his car. She tells them there is smoke but she doesn’t see any flames. After she’s done the call she checks on Philip again. She tells him if he can hear her she wants him to know help is on the way. She doesn’t want him to move – they’ll get him out. She then grabs her phone to make another call. Stephanie says damn it Max why aren’t you answering me – she tells Philip to hang on – he can’t die. Stephanie tells Philip the ambulance is here – hang in there. She runs to the EMT and says he’s still unconscious. He has a pulse but it’s fast and weak. The EMT asks her if she knows the victim. She says it’s Philip Kiriakis. She tried but she can’t get him out. The guy tells her fire and rescue are right behind them. She hopes they get there in time. The EMT crawls into the car – we see sparks flying.
The fire and rescue team arrive. They tell Stephanie to stay back. She tells them that they should know he has a prosthetic leg. He’s trying to be the first amputee to race on the circle. She prays for Philip – he’s made it this far – we’re all pulling for you. Philip says Belle’s name. One of the guys asks Stephanie who Belle is. Stephanie says his wife. She pulls out her phone saying she should call her. Belle runs towards the car screaming Philip’s name. Shawn grabs her and tells her to stop. When she does he goes to the car – so does Mimi. Stephanie tells Belle they have to stay back. Philip is going to be okay. His vitals are stable … they just have to get him out of there. Belle can smell smoke. Stephanie has to hold her back. She tells Belle there is a lot of fuel on the track – he was driving with a full tank. Belle doesn’t understand what he was doing driving in the first place – what if the car explodes. Stephanie says they are disabling the car’s ignition system so that doesn’t happen. Belle worries that they won’t get him out in time. Mimi asks Shawn what’s going on. Shawn says that he had to tell the firemen that he built that engine to be fast – the trade off is that in a crash like this … Mimi asks him if he’s saying it could blow up. Shawn says no – I hope not. Stephanie tells Shawn that she’s been trying to get hold of Max but he’s not answering his phone. She has to go and find him. He needs to know his car is a total loss. Shawn tells Belle he doesn’t know why Philip would just come and borrow Max’s car like this. Max was going to let him drive but he wasn’t ready yet … Belle says he was so upset – what if he did it on purpose. Shawn says he wouldn’t do that – he loves her and Claire too much. He has too much to live for. Belle says I have to go to him … Shawn stops her and turns her around. He tells her to stop – don’t put yourself and the baby at risk – our baby. Mimi looks on. Philip is being strapped on to a gurney. Belle tries to get to him but Shawn holds her back. Belle says this is all her fault. If he doesn’t fight – if he doesn’t make it – it’s my fault. She’s close to hysterics. Shawn tells her to give them a minute then she can tell him how she feels. Belle yells – how I feel – I feel guilty. Shawn turns her back again to face him. He says you there’s nothing you can do for Philip right now. Listen I just lost my brother in an accident. I don’t want to lose you or our baby. I love you. Pan to Mimi’s face, Belle stops struggling and then turns away from Shawn and looks at Philip whose gurney is right beside her – his eyes are open.
The Kiriakis Loft: Belle, Mimi and Shawn arrive – Belle runs to the stairs and calls his name and then checks the phone – no messages. She wonders where he is. Shawn says he probably went for a drive around the lake or went for a hike to clear his head. Mimi tells her to try not to worry – Philip’s an adult, he can take care of himself. Belle turns into a real witch as she turns on Mimi – I’m worried about my husband, is that not okay with you? Shawn tells Belle to relax and goes to Mimi and says she’s stressed (he says something else but I couldn’t hear it – too soft- maybe probably isn’t helping???). His cell phone rings. He answers – Stephanie says it’s Stephanie. Shawn says who?? LOL! She says your cousin. I need to reach Belle Kiriakis. She’s your neighbour isn’t she – it’s an emergency. Shawn says she’s right here. He hands the phone to Belle and tells her who it is. Belle says OMG I knew it. Shawn asks what’s wrong. She tells him it’s Philip – I knew it - he was in a terrible accident.
Preview: Belle to Shawn – The fact that you and I are having a baby together completely freaked him out. Mimi watches and looks glum. Sami to EJ – I think tonight is going to be my last dinner with him ever. Carrie to Lucas – Lexie wants us to go to her office right away. My test results are back. Stephanie to Max – She might be afraid we’re not just working. Chelsea to Abby – When I’m done with Max he’s not even going to remember her name.

Carrie & Lucas’ apartment: Lucas is on the phone going ballistic with the contractor. Carrie is going through the charred remains of some of their stuff. She’s upset when she finds the baby book. Carrie says they can’t replace this one – it was discontinued – she apologises – she must be hormonal. She mentions Sami running into the apartment to save him. She must care about him a lot. She asks Lucas if he ever wishes he was having this child with Sami. He is honest and says sometimes he does. Will is a great kid and they talked about having more children – but it’s over. Carrie thinks it’s so ironic that she broke up with Austin because he took over her company and now she can’t believe it mattered to her. Now all she can think about is this baby and how her life has turned around. Lucas says he never got to do this stuff with Will. He tells Carrie he loves her. Carrie feels so bad about the apartment. Lucas says it was his idea to light the candles. The important thing is that they are okay. They’re going to be heading for Italy soon and when they come back the spare bedroom will be converted into a nursery. They kiss and then hug – Carrie fantasizes about kissing Austin.
They kiss again – Austin walks in and fantasizes that he’s kissing Carrie. He knocks on the door – he’s looking for a box of CD’s he left there before he moved to New York. Austin tells them they can stay with them – they have a spare bedroom. He’s throwing a special dinner for Sami tonight and he’d like them both to be there. Sami walks in and says no you can’t do that! Sami says she didn’t mean that the way it sounded. With everything they’ve been through they probably don’t want to go out. No they’re fine – Lucas would like to accept Austin’s offer. That way he gets to be close to Will and he can stay on top of the contractor. Sami tries to say something but both Austin and Lucas steamroll over her. It’s settled Lucas and Carrie are moving in. Austin has to run. Sami tries to stop him – she has something to talk to him. Austin says she can tell him at dinner.
Racetrack: Max arrives. He tells Stephanie that he told her it was bad but not this bad. EJ shows up and asks if that is Max’s car and who was driving. Max tells him it was Philip. Max is berating himself for allowing Philip to be his second but he wanted the sponsorship so badly. He didn’t give Philip permission to drive – it takes years to learn. Stephanie tells him that at least Philip is going to be okay. They hug. Chelsea sees it. EJ notices the gas leak and the sparks. There is a replay of the final scene between Belle and Shawn and boy is it different today. Mimi is right behind Shawn. Belle has just come back from the gurney. This is all her fault and so on … then Shawn gives her the I lost Zack speech again ending with I love you, okay. Belle stops blubbering and stares, Philip looks at him … Shawn tries to do damage control. Philip, Mimi … what I meant … Mimi says in no uncertain terms Philip and I know what you meant. She then tells Philip she’ll see him at the hospital and walks away. Shawn pushes Belle aside as he calls out Mimi’s name. The car explodes.
A paramedic and Shawn help Mimi up. Shawn asks Mimi is she is okay. She tells him she is not hurt but she’s not okay as she shoves his hand off of her. He tells her he is sorry – he definitely did not mean … Mimi cuts in – he did mean it. He does love Belle. You can’t deny it this time. You can’t say it’s in the past. You can’t say you love me more because I’m your wife and I’m the future mother of your children. Belle is carrying your child right now in her womb. Just like you two always hoped and dreamed and planned for years … Shawn says we did not hope or dream any of that (he means the current situation) – you have to believe that. Yeah but the whole part about being married to me is a real inconvenience, isn’t it? She starts to walk away. Shawn grabs her and says stop, Mimi. Mimi yells at him to stop lying to her – to stop insulting her intelligence. When I heard you tell your father that Belle was the love of your life you meant it. She was and she always will be. Shawn just looks shocked … LOL – I do believe he’s buying a clue. Mimi goes to check up on Philip. Philip is struggling to breathe. Belle thanks god he’s okay and then goes into full blown lecture mode berating him for not wearing a helmet. Philip tells her he’d rather die than see her with him. The EMT’s start working on him – Belle pretends that she cares. Boy her concern was short lived. Mimi tells Philip that he’ll be fine – they will all be here for him. Belle goes to the ambulance with Philip. Shawn rushes to Mimi and tells her he’ll take her to the hospital. She tells him she can get there herself. He says, please – we need to talk. Mimi says fine. EJ tells Max he’s sorry about his car – they’ve all been there. Max is just happy that Philip is okay. He’s going to arrange to get the car towed back to the garage. EJ leaves. Stephanie asks Max if he is alright. Max says it’s just a car. Stephanie says no, it’s your baby – it’s your livelihood. It’s okay to be upset. Max thanks her for understand and for being there. Chelsea watches and gets a call from Abby. She needs Abby’s help to take a certain woman out of the race.
Max’s Garage: Chelsea paces outside the garage. Abby shows up. Chelsea tells her about the accident. She then admits that she kind of did something this morning. She tells Abby that she and Max were having breakfast together – he stepped away from the table and she saw Stephanie’s name on his caller ID so she shut off his phone. Stephanie wants her guy – she’s stalking him. Abby doesn’t know her at all if she thinks she is just going to sit back and let her steal her man. Abby knows her too well – she’s worried about what she’s going to do next. Chelsea has a plan and she is going to need Abby’s help. Inside Max and Stephanie are working on the car. Stephanie says the motor is shot – same with the body but maybe they can salvage some parts. Max kicks the car – he’s really mad at Philip for taking his car out on the track. This is not just a car – her and I have been through a lot together. Stephanie says if one of you had to go she’s glad it was the car. She tells him when she gets a new car she’ll help him. They banter about being competitors on the track … he asks her why she is helping him. Chelsea saunters in and says she can answer that. My cousin has a little thing for you.
Stephanie calls Chelsea on her jealousy which Chelsea denies. Stephanie says if you hadn’t been so petty Max could have got to the track sooner and possibly saved more of his car and he could have helped get Philip out of the car sooner. Chelsea apologises but she had a perfectly good reason for not telling him that Stephanie had called. She accuses Stephanie of stalking Max and tells Max about Stephanie spying on them this morning. Stephanie says my mom lives there and looked inside to see if she was there and when I didn’t see her I left. Max tells Chelsea that she shouldn’t have stopped Stephanie from reaching him. He asks her to leave – he’s in a bad mood. Outside Chelsea whines that she can’t believe that Max defended Stephanie. She’s ticked that Abby didn’t say anything in her defence. Abby says I didn’t say anything because what you said sucked. Max apologises to Stephanie for Chelsea giving her a hard time and makes excuses for Chelsea. Stephanie understands – she probably wouldn’t like it if she was in her position. Chelsea probably thinks they are doing more than working. Chelsea whines that her best friend is siding with Stephanie. Abby isn’t – she doesn’t understand why Chelsea has to play these games. She asks what happened to the new improved Chelsea, the one who was so grateful that she didn’t have to go jail – who vowed to change her life around. Chelsea says point taken. She’s probably lost Max for good this time and she only has herself to blame. Abby says you haven’t lost him yet. Chelsea brings up the way Max just treated her. Abby tells her to give him a break – he just lost his car – it was his life. She’s never seen him so down. Chelsea says and Stephanie thinks she can comfort the poor dear but two can play at this game. When she’s done with Max he’s not even going to remember Stephanie’s name.
Hospital: Philip arrives at the hospital. Lexie is there – Belle is hysterical again. She needs to know that Philip is going to be okay. Lexie needs her to wait out here while she examines him. Lexie examines him and asks him where he hurts. He says his chest. She’s fairly confident he doesn’t have a collapsed lung – but fluid build-up. The good news is everything looks treatable. She asks him whose car he was driving. He says Max. She sees on the chart he was going 200 mph – what was he doing – he’s not a race car driver. Philip says he was just blowing off steam – he was so mad. She asks him why he would do something so reckless. He tells her because his wife is pregnant with Shawn’s baby. Shawn trails behind Mimi as they enter the waiting room. Mimi wants to know why they are still arguing. He told Belle he loves her and she wasn’t the only one that heard it. Shawn is looking around the nurse’s station trying to get someone’s attention. He says I love Belle the same way you love Rex. Mimi tells him it’s not the same thing and he knows it. He insists it is. When they care about someone the way they cared about them it’s not something that just goes away. How many times do I have to convince you that I love you – that you are the one I want to be with – the woman I married. Mimi answers all because Belle wasn’t available. Shawn says that is not true. Mimi asks him if he thinks she likes feeling constantly insecure about this. She hates it. She knows that she is driving the both of them crazy but she also knows she is not crazy. Belle is having his baby. The two of them have always shared a special bond and when that baby is born it’s just going to bring them even closer. She’s afraid that he is going to want to be with her. Belle walks up to the door and sees Shawn embracing Mimi so she decides to eavesdrop. Shawn says it won’t happen. Mimi says you say that now … Shawn won’t let it happen – he promises. Mimi tells him not to make promises he can’t keep. Belle gives the infamous open-mouthed slacked jaw stare as she starts plotting.
Lexie finds it hard to believe they made such an error. Philip says Dr. Jaynes keeps apologizing but it does nothing – nothing. Philip says the mix-up is bad – Shawn and Belle were together for a long time – those old feelings are coming back – he just knows it. Lexie tells him not to think the worst. Philip says I just heard him tell Belle he loves her right in front of me. Lexie says of course they’ll always love each other but not in that way. Philip doesn’t agree – Shawn still loves Belle and now they are having a baby together. Lexie reminds him that he and Belle have a child together. One created out of love and intimacy not some screw up in some fertility clinic. Lexie tells him the IVF mix-up was unfortunate but neither Belle nor Shawn did anything wrong – they are victims just as much as he is. Don’t let this destroy your marriage. Don’t take this out on her, on the baby or on yourself. She said did you not see how frightened your wife was – do you not know how much she loves you. She advises him to go to Belle and talk to her – talk to Shawn and Mimi. She’s sure they can come to some agreement that they can all live with. Belle presses closer to the door so she can hear every word between Shawn and Mimi. Mimi tells Shawn that she is trying very hard to be rational about this – not let my emotions guide my decisions but this is about the man I love, our family, our future – she can’t help getting emotional. She says Shawn, we all know that you and Belle would be together to this day if hadn’t been for Jan Spears. Shawn says it wasn’t all Jan’s fault. He is responsible for what happened, Belle is responsible. They’ve all grown up a lot since then. He says I don’t know how many different ways to tell you this but I love you and we’re going to be raising a child together. Mimi wants to know whose child is he talking about – the one their surrogate is carrying or the one he and Belle are having. Shawn admits he doesn’t know. Mimi asks him ‘how are we going to figure this out. Which child are we going to raise? Which child do Belle and Philip raise? Maybe it would be a helluva lot easier if we just swapped partners. Shawn says would you please stop. We’ll all sit down as a group and we’ll figure it out together. Belle decides this a good time to put her plans in motion and comes in. Shawn asks how Philip is doing? Belle doesn’t know – Lexie is still with him. Hmm … maybe if you would have cared you might have waited outside his cubicle like Lexie asked you to know instead of rushing to find Shawn. Shawn gets on his high horse – what was he thinking taking Max’s race car and driving flat out without a helmet on. Belle says he just flipped out. Shawn says this is hard on all of them but why does he have to go and crash a race car. Belle says Philip is really freaked out about this – I told you. The fact that you and I are having a baby together completely freaked him out.
Philip tells Lexie she is right. The mix-up with the embryos is a disaster – he has to do something about it. He has to go and talk to Belle and take control of this situation. He has to think like a Marine – it’s all about holding your position. He loves Belle and loves Claire – he doesn’t want to lose them. Lexie says he needs some rest. She wants to keep him overnight for observation. She’s going to find him a bed. Mimi says Philip crashing a car into a wall – hate to say what that reminds me of. Shawn says oh … don’t even … Mimi – All I’m saying is just don’t be so hard on him. Shawn says he’s done a lot of stupid things in his life and crashing his bike through the window at St. Luke’s is at the top of the list but Jan drugged him – he wasn’t in his right mind. Belle says neither was Philip which is her fault. She should have handled things a lot better. Mimi says they all should have. She’s going to call her mother. She’ll be back in a moment. Shawn says he’ll be here. She goes out the doors. Belle makes her move. She tells Shawn the fact that they are having a baby together is not the only reason why Philip went ballistic. Shawn asks what else is he angry about. Belle says he know that I want to have your baby. Shawn says what are you talking about – you didn’t say that … Belle says of course not but I can’t hide my feelings. I do want to have your baby. The truth is that I couldn’t want anything more – Shawn looks like this is the last thing he wants to hear. Mimi hears at well but she’s not surprised by what Belle has to say. Lexie is in her office looking through a folder with test results. She says oh my god, can these be right. She calls Carrie and tells her that her test results are back. She wants her and Lucas to come to the hospital as soon as they can so they can discuss the results in person. Carrie says they will be right there.
Preview: At Dune – Chelsea to some stranger – Yay – you did it – she kisses him. Max and Stephanie walk in. EJ to Sami – If Austin can’t forgive you for whatever you’ve done he doesn’t deserve you. Frankie to Jen – We shouldn’t do this. Jen – No- I need to do this – please. She kisses him. Lexie to Carrie – There’s something else I need to discuss with you. Carrie – Lexie don’t tell me that I can’t have children.

She thinks that Bo decided that Billie and Chelsea needed him more. Bo pleads with Hope. He tells her that he has loved one woman and needed one woman and its always been her. He promises to live the rest of his life being the best husband to her and the best father to her baby. Hope tells him it’s not that simple. He argues that it doesn’t matter if he’s not the father. She’s skeptical given that he’s always hated Patrick.
Bo just wants to move forward and create the happiest family they can. He believes in them and in their love and thinks they can do it. She asks him if he will be able to handle having Patrick as the baby’s biological father. Bo insists that he can handle anything as long as they are together...including Lockhart being a hands-on father. Hope tells him point blank that the biggest problem she has is that she doesn’t trust him anymore and doesn’t know what it would take for that to change. She talks about her divorce from Abe and councils Carrie to give Lucas a chance before going to a lawyer. Carrie agrees and says that honor is important too. She comments on how Austin is about to marry her sister and it would be very selfish of her to mess that up...especially after all the heartbreak that Sami has been through. She owes it to Lucas even if she doesn’t love him the way she loves Austin.
Rooftop: Austin, Sami, and E.J.
Sami is mesmerized by the ring...thinks it’s perfect. Austin reminds her that it’s the one she wanted. Sami shocks him by saying she can’t accept it. Austin is shocked. She doesn’t want them to spend all that money on a ring...wants it for the company. She tells him she’s so selfish and wonders why he even loves her. Austin grins and tells her he would give her a list but doesn’t want to embarrass E.J. He loves her decisiveness and asks her to marry him again...tells her that he will give her all that is in his power to give ...wants to be her husband. Sami is crying and says yes. Austin is relieved. They kiss. Austin goes downstairs to get supper ready. Sami thinks that E.J. thinks she is a coward. She doesn’t want to ruin Austin’s happiness. E.J. argues that Austin is happy because he trust Sami and that she needs to tell him the truth before someone else does.
Sami explains that this is all she has ever wanted...she’s been to the altar so many times and either got walked out on or the marriage was annulled. She tells E.J. that she is the joke of the town but this time it will be different...it’s her 3rd time with Austin and she thinks it will be a charm. She knows that she promised E.J. that they would postpone the wedding and she would work on his account, but begs him to let her and Austin get married right away. If he agrees, she promises to be his personal slave...do anything for him. E.J. just shakes his head. Sami knows Austin will never forgive her if she tells him the truth. She wants him to swear on his mother’s life that he won’t tell.
E.J. isn’t a happy camper...asks her how she even knows if his mother is alive or a part of his life...thinks she needs to think before she speaks. Sami apologizes but still won’t tell the truth. She pleads with him not to tell the truth either. He asks her what she would do to him if he did tell. She threatens that she would do anything and he doesn’t want to find out...begs him to just be her friend. He finally agrees. Sami opens up a little more to him. She shows him the initials carved in the door of Carrie and Austin and Carrie and Lucas...tells him that Carrie has her initials carved all over town and she doesn’t...she (Sami) has spent her life living in her perfect sister’s shadow. Sami tells him about her parents...losing her mom...getting her back...her parents happy for a while...met Austin when she was fifteen and he makes her feel safe and secure and loved.
E.J. is glad that Sami told him all this. She doesn’t want to lose Austin. E.J. thinks that Sami could have any man that she wants and asks if she is sure that Austin is the man of her dreams. Trauma Center: Patrick and Mimi
Patrick tries to get Mimi to calm down. He knows this in vitro mix-up is horrible to go through but is sure it will be okay. Mimi is crying and tells him that Belle is having her husband’s baby...not her...Belle...the girl he’s loved practically his whole life. Patrick wants Mimi to have some faith in the guy she married. She tells him that after what she heard between Shawn and Belle today, she might as well pack her bags and get out of town. Her life with Shawn is over.
Patrick asks Mimi to tell him what she heard. LOL...Mimi tells him that she wants to rip Belles face off just thinking about it and that Belle told Shawn that she was happy having his baby. Mimi loses it then and says: “Here’s Phil and I hysterical about having a baby with each other...we don’t love each other...we don’t want a kid that looks like either of us...we want kids with the people we married. Belle and Shawn are totally fine about it. Shawn is being protective about keeping Belle safe because she is having his baby...and the way Shawn looked at her....he still loves her...it’s her worse nightmare.” She doesn’t think she can stand 9 months of this. Patrick reminds her that Shawn married her and loves her. She says: “Maybe, but now he has the best reason in the world to be with Belle.
Patrick talks about Hope being pregnant with his child and the fact that they haven’t even talked about their future together. He’s pretty sure that she still loves Bo. Mimi thinks Hope must also love Patrick. He tells her he loves Hope but its complicated and it doesn’t mean they will be together. Mimi is sure that Belle has never stopped loving Shawn and wants him for herself...she now has the perfect excuse to be with him...when you already share a child together. Patrick picks up on her last few words and asks her to explain. She tells a shocked Patrick that Shawn is Claire’s biological father.

So not only are they having a child because of the IVF mix-up but Claire is also their child. Mimi says they don’t know about Claire which surprises Patrick. Mimi says they are bound to find out about her and when they do they will want to be together. Belle enters the waiting area where Shawn is. He asks about Philip and makes sure that Belle knows that both he and Mimi want to make sure he’s okay. Belle says that Lexie says he’ll be fine – she’s running a few more tests and he will be able to go home soon. She then she plays the ‘it’s all my fault’ card so Shawn will feel sorry for her. He says it’s not her fault. Belle says he believes that I want to have your baby and it’s true. Shawn doesn’t want to hear this but he tells her that they have to talk about that. He talks about his parents break up. There’s no way he’ll put Mimi through that. It kills him to say it but there is only one thing to do.
Patrick wants to know how Shawn could have got Belle pregnant when neither of them knows about it yet she does. Mimi says it gets better – Belle and Shawn don’t know they ever had sex together. Mimi explains the possibility of the barn sex and what led to it and what happened after it. Patrick says you think they slept together but they don’t remember it. Mimi says Belle did remember but she thought it was a dream. Patrick still doesn’t know how she knows that Claire is Shawn’s. She says when Claire was sick Shawn’s blood type was a match, Philip’s wasn’t. Shawn’s little brother – perfect match for an organ donation. She told her suspicions to their mom and she did some digging and she found out the truth beyond a shadow of a doubt that Shawn is Claire’s father. Patrick can’t believe she is basing this on something their Mom said. Mimi said she didn’t believe her at first either but she found proof. Patrick wants to know - what proof? Mimi admits she doesn’t know. She tells Patrick to trust her – she wouldn’t be freaking out like this if it wasn’t true. Patrick says so you didn’t tell them the truth. Mimi says no – she wanted to but Mom kept telling her not to tell because she would lose Shawn – he would go back to Belle. Patrick wishes she would have come to him instead of their mother. Mimi calls herself a horrible person – she should have told Shawn from the very beginning and now it’s too late. Patrick tells her it’s never too late.
Belle is absolutely thrilled at Shawn’s words – only one thing to do. She says you mean you’re going to leave Mimi and I should leave Philip and we’re going to raise our baby together. Shawn says no – I’m not leaving Mimi. She is my wife and Philip is your husband. Belle whines but we love each other and we’re having a baby together just like we planned. Shawn reminds her that they did not plan this baby – this baby was an accident. Belle scolds him – telling him no it’s not – it’s “meant to be” (oh, please – gag me). Its fate … it’s … Shawn tells her to stop it. Belle won’t – she says you still love me, I know it.. Shawn tells her it doesn’t matter how they feel or don’t feel we are committed to other people. He would never break up her family anymore than he would want to break his marriage vows to Mimi. Father Jansen married them in good faith. Belle whines that she didn’t marry Philip in good faith. Her marriage vows are a lie. Shawn looks stunned – LOL I think he’s getting a glimpse of the real Belle and he’s not liking what he’s seeing!
Mimi is sure she will lose Shawn. It was bad enough with one kid and now they would have two. Belle would have no reason to stay with Philip. Patrick says except for the fact that he is her husband and hopefully she loves him. Mimi says she does but it’s not the same. Shawn is the love of her life and she’s never gotten over him and she never will and Shawn’s never really gotten over her either. Patrick says if that is true to you really think Shawn would have married you. Mimi says I’m not saying he doesn’t love me but again, it’s just not the same. She tells Patrick she was there – the way they were together – they were so crazy about each other. She used to wish that someone would love her like that. And miraculously she almost did twice but she ruined it both times – first with Rex and now with Shawn. She should have known it would never happen for her. Patrick tells her she hasn’t blown it. She can still make this right. Mimi says it’s not like I just found out – I’ve known for a while. Patrick asks her for how long. Mimi says before we were married. Patrick can’t believe she married him knowing … Mimi reminds him that she told him it was bad. She tells him about what Father Jansen told her before the wedding and then when she admitted after the wedding that she hadn’t told Shawn, Father Jansen said that in the eyes of the church their marriage wasn’t valid. Patrick mentions the word legally. Mimi says yeah but when Shawn finds out – legally our marriage will be over and I’ll be history.
Shawn literally can’t believe what he is hearing. He says she told him that she loved Philip when she married him. Belle says she did and she still does but not the way she loves him – not the way a wife should love her husband. She knew that when she married him – she knew that when she took her vows. It was wrong – she never should have married him when she was still in love with him. She only did it because she was so hurt and angry after he left and with what he did with Jan. (Oh I get it – so now we’re supposed to believe it was Shawn’s fault that she chose to marry Philip – duh, of course because Belle is never responsible for her own actions). Shawn jumps in and admits he did a lot of things he shouldn’t have done and Philip was there for her and he loved her so much. Belle snivels that he deserves someone that loves him the same way but that wasn’t her and she had no right to let him believe it was. Shawn can’t believe her – he can’t believe that she would marry Philip only on the rebound. Oh boo hoo – she only did it because she thought she would get over him. Philip was strong and good and loving and she thought eventually she would grow to love him like she loved Shawn. She should have known that wouldn’t happen. It wasn’t fair to Philip or to Shawn or to them (duh – ya think). Boy is Shawn getting an earful and an eyeful during this conversation! Shawn tells Belle that she has barely given Philip a chance. She can learn to love him that way – she just has to give up on the two of them. Belle says she can’t. Philip is not the man that is meant for her – this baby she is carrying proves that. Shawn tells her that she can’t think that way – there is nothing that can be done about this. Belle sneers – He’s wrong - her marrying Philip was not just a mistake- taking vows before God and a priest knowing that they were lies are grounds for an annulment. Shawn stares at her as if he doesn’t know who he is talking to … LOL!
Shawn tells her not to even think about it. She isn’t going to get her marriage to Philip annulled. She needs to think about what that would do to Claire’s home life. She has responsibilities now as he does. He knows he’s only her godfather but he loves that little girl. She deserves to have her parents together. Belle whines – even if her parent’s marriage is a lie. What about our baby. Shawn says legally that baby is yours and Philip’s and he’s going to love that baby as much as he loves Claire and she knows that. He wants her to think about how much Philip loves Claire and loves her. Shawn says that he knows she loves Philip – he tells her to commit to him completely – he’ll believe it will work. He says isn’t that why you wanted another baby with him – you believed it could work – you have to keep believing. She has to forget about ‘us’. She says no she can’t. Shawn makes it clear that whatever happens he is not leaving Mimi. She trusts him and he would never do anything to betray that trust anymore than she would. Patrick and Mimi come out from behind the curtains. Patrick knows she is scared. She says Shawn has the whole big thing about honesty and trust – it’s like a religion to him. She says he still hasn’t forgiven his Dad for lying about Chelsea – he’s glad that you’re the father of Hope’s baby not his Dad. Patrick admits to being surprised about that. Mimi talks to Patrick a bit about the baby and Hope. Patrick is prepared for Hope going back to Hope. Mimi says no matter what you’ll always have that bond because of the baby unlike me – I’m having Philip’s baby. Patrick says a baby isn’t the only reason people love each other or even want to be together. She can still fix this if she is honest with Shawn. She can’t go on like this – she’ll fall apart. Mimi says what if I’m right – what if when I tell him he leaves me. Patrick tells her that it’s just a chance she’ll have to take. They hug.
Shawn knows this isn’t what she wants to hear but he’s not going to break the vows he made with Mimi. They promised to be honest and faithful to each other in sickness and in health as long as they both shall live and he believes in that promise. He can’t split up a family and Clair deserves to be with her father. It’s not right. Belle says what is not right is that they love each other but can’t be together. Shawn just looks at her and tells her that she belongs with Philip and he belongs with Mimi and that’s the end of it! Mimi wonders why life has always got to be so hard for them. She’s just made everything so much worse for herself. She doesn’t know why she didn’t learn her lesson when she lost Rex. She says he really turned his life again. She just knows he’s going to get his happy ending with Hope and the baby.
Brady house: Bo thanks Hope for giving him a chance. He tells her he wouldn’t do anything to deliberately hurt her. He would never tamper with evidence to let Chelsea go free. He’s going to do everything he can to prove that but what if he can’t? Hope tells him ‘Than I’m sorry. She used to trust him with her life but now she doesn’t. If he can’t find the proof than she never can truly believe him again and their marriage will be over. Hope can’t just take his word for him – he lied about so many things – Chelsea, the death of their child. He wishes he could do it over but he swears he didn’t do this. She wants to know why the evidence all points to him. They rehash everything that happened in the evidence room including Bo disabling the camera. Hope tells him it doesn’t look good – the only plausible explanation is that he did it. Bo insists that he did not steal the evidence. He didn’t want Chelsea to go to jail but he would not do that for her and more importantly he wouldn’t do that to Hope. He doesn’t know what else to say to convince her. Hope says there isn’t anything he can say. She’s going to go through with the divorce unless he can show some real proof that he didn’t tamper with the evidence. Bo says come on Hope. Hope thinks it’s for the best anyway – she’s having another man’s child. She knows what he said but she can’t forget what happened with JT. Because he couldn’t be the biological father he checked out – he abandoned them when JT was sick. They needed him. Bo says I’m sorry. Hope has forgiven him but she’s never forgotten. Experience tells her that he will not be able to live with raising another man’s child as his own especially Patrick Lockhart’s. Bo gives an impassion speech about his ‘Pop’ not being his biological father. He ends it by saying that he would love this child just like his Pop loved him. He would be the best father for this baby. Hope tells him to find the proof. He says he can do that. She hopes so because more than anything she wants to be able to believe in him again. He says you will because we belong together.
Alice & Maggie stop in to visit Hope and have some tea. They came because they were worried about her since they heard about the baby. Hope says you mean that Patrick is the father. Maggie says it does complicate things. Hope agrees. Maggie says complicated or not a new life is a wonderful gift. Alice says a new baby is always a blessing – especially this one. Hope feels the same way. This baby is a gift from heaven. Like God had a conversation with Zack and he asked him to send him to me. Not a replacement but to give her a chance to love another child. Maggie says she was the best mother Zack could have and this baby will be blessed to have her as a mother. Alice adds that the child also needs a father – two parents that not only love him but love each other. Hope says she knows that. Patrick is going to be a part of this child’s life whether they are together or not. If there is any chance that she and Bo can save their marriage … Maggie says then your baby will have three parents who love him or her. Biology isn’t everything. They learned that with JT and she and Mickey learned that with Melissa. Hope brings up the trouble that Melissa’s birth mother caused them. Maggie says it was worth it in the end. She tells Hope that true love wins in the end. Hope says she hopes everything can work out the way Maggie says it can. Maggie asks her how Bo feels about raising another man’s child and about Patrick being a part of their lives. Hope says he says he can handle it but she’s not so sure. She doesn’t want her child to grow up thinking his step-father hates his father. Alice tells her that Bo loves her so much that she doesn’t think there is anything that he wouldn’t or couldn’t do for her. Hope says even if that is true he has to prove to her that he didn’t tamper with the evidence against Chelsea and she’s not sure he can do that. Maggie tells Hope not to give up on Bo. He loves her – he’ll move heaven and earth to get her back. Hope repeats she only needs one thing from him – and she’ll know she can believe in him again. Alice says that Bo has always come through for her and he will again. She guarantees it!
Steve & Kayla: They are on a plane to Cincinnati. Kayla talks about the last time they were on a plane together going to Ohio – it’s when she first started to fall in love with him. He wants to know why they took the trip. She tells him that her sister’s son had been kidnapped and they went to Cleveland to search for him. He wants to know if they won – beat the bad guys. She says yes. Kayla asks him if he’s happy to be going ‘home’. He says it’s the only home he remembers. He hopes it’s not a wasted trip for her. She’s spent all this time and effort trying to help him remember and nothing has worked. She won’t give up. She feels that there will be a clue in Cincinnati. He thinks they don’t have a lot to go on. He woke up in a cheap motel with no memory, a little cash and an ID for Nick Stockton. He went to the address and got mugged – that’s it. Kayla wonders if it is a good idea for him to go back there – it could be dangerous. He says he has had no trouble. She thinks that whoever did this to him went through a lot of trouble to keep them apart and now that they’re not it changes everything. Steve believes that someone took away his memory deliberately – he might know why. He suspects that because he was a cop and ISA he may have found something that someone considered a threat. Whoever did it had a very elaborate plan to pull off faking his death – he thinks it fits Stefano DiMera’s M.O. He pulls out some research he has done – he says Stefano had a real talent for making people that weren’t really dead appear to be dead including himself. Then he talks about what Tony did. They know the DiMera’s hated the Brady’s but why him – he never met the guy. Kayla tells him about their honeymoon and Benji – Benji was Stefano’s son. When Steve finds out Kayla lost touch with Benji after his maternal grandfather took him he says he’ll follow up on that lead. Kayla says he’s thinking like a cop. They talk about his casket being exhumed. He’s not holding out for them getting any clues from that – he just hopes that there is no body in it. Kayla just knows that they are going to get some answers on this trip and this mystery is going to be solved.
They arrive at dive called Eddie’s. Steve says ‘it’s a little rough. He’s been coming here for as long as he can remember. Maybe they shouldn’t go inside. Kayla says no – maybe there’s a clue inside – something that drew him to this place. They go inside. The hand panics (LOL) and a guy says I know – I’ll take care of it. All the regulars greet Nick including one of the barmaids. She pours shooters on the house – Kayla stays at the bar while Steve joins his friends. The guy that conversed with the hand sidles up to Kayla and advices her not to get involved with Nick – he’s bad news. He’s a lying, cheating, two-timing womanizer. He comes on quite strong so Steve pulls him away and punches him. He asks Kayla if she is okay. She says yes – watch out. The guy is coming after Steve with a broken bottle. The hand watches. The fight continues – Steve wins but the guy yells at Kayla to stay away from him. Kayla says he’s my husband. The guy yells he’s a liar before leaving. Kayla wants to know who the guy is and what he knows about Steve. Outside the guy grabs the hand and says next time get someone else to do your dirty work. That guy is crazy. When he finds out what you’re up to – watch out. Steve tells Kayla to forget about the guy – he’s just some punk that has always had it in for him. Kayla wants to know why. Steve tells her it’s nothing to worry about. As she can see he gets along with just about everyone here. A woman comes along and says Baby I missed you so much. Give me a kiss lover. She plants one on him. Kayla pulls them apart saying who the hell are you. The woman answers I’m his wife. Who the hell are you?
Police Station: Billie comes barging in telling Bo they have to talk. She just found out that Chelsea hasn’t signed up for community service as yet. If she doesn’t sign up by the deadline she could still go to jail for contempt of court. Bo thinks a little jail time might be what she needs. Billie doesn’t agree. Bo says if the evidence hadn’t disappeared she’d be facing a hell of lot worse. He says he has to find out what happened to that video disk to prove to Hope that he didn’t take it. Whoever did is going to pay. Billie tells if there is anything she can do to help, she will. Bo sees Eve and goes to talk to her. He has some questions for her about that evidence that disappeared. Billie interrupts him and says she knows who did it. She has her suspicions – it must have been someone from the inside – someone that knows police procedure. Bo agrees – it had to be someone that had access to the evidence room. Bo asks Eve if she saw or noticed anything out of the ordinary that day. She says no. He tells her he wants a list of everyone on duty and who visited the police station the morning of Chelsea’s trial. She tells him that she knows he couldn’t have had anything to do with the evidence disappearing – he’s a good cop. Bo thanks her for her support. She doesn’t think it’s going to be easy to track down the perp. Bo agrees but he says he will find the person responsible – he’s got too much at stake in this. Billie tells Bo that if there is anything she can do to move things along with Hope, she’ll do it. Bo thanks her – he’s knows it’s not easy for her. Eve calls the hand saying you gave me the idea and Kate Roberts paid me to do it. Now Bo Brady is pulling out all the stops to find out who took the evidence. I’m going to need more money. She listens and then says good when you get back to Salem you better have the cash and be ready to stop Bo in his tracks.
Preview: Mimi to Shawn, Philip & Belle – We all need to be honest about everything. There’s something you all need to know. Lucas to Carrie – Now that you’re not pregnant with our baby – what are you saying? Are you saying you regret marrying me? Kayla to Steve – How serious is it? Do you love her? Sami to Austin, Lucas, Carrie & EJ – I have something I want to say to you all. It’s something that I think could change all of our lives forever.

Pat’s Spoilers
Eddie’s in Cincinnati: A repeat of the kiss and Della claiming to be Nick’s wife. Kayla tells Della that she is his wife. She turns to Steve and asks him how he could be married to another woman and not tell her. The hand lurks. Della wants to know why Kayla is calling Nick Steve. Steve says you know that I don’t remember a lot of my life well it turns out that I’m Steve Johnson and have a wife and kid. They all thought I was dead. Della says the Nick they know wouldn’t be changing diapers and wouldn’t have Miss Perfect for a wife. She tells Kayla just because Nick looks like some dead guy … Steve stops her and says it’s true – I had a DNA test done – I am that guy. Kayla asks Della if she knew Steve so well why didn’t she know all this. Della rags on Kayla – Kayla walks away. Della says so you have been with family all this time. He just wants to figure out what happened to him. She wants him to forget about it – this is his life now. He tells her he has to talk to Kayla. Della wants him to make it fast. Steve asks Kayla to sit down with him. He apologises. She wants to know when he was going to tell her. He says he’s an idiot – he should have found a way to tell her even though she never asked. She tells him she was scared to ask. She wants to know how serious he is about her – does he love her.
He says he’s been with a few women over the years – Kayla doesn’t want details – she just wants to know about Della. He says they’ve been on again off again for quite a while. He thinks the life he has been living is nothing like what she is used to. She tells him he is wrong. Nick Stockton is not very different than the Steve she knew. She tells him about the dive he hung out at and that he would take her to – the Cheating Heart. He says he reverted to his old ways. Everyone finds their own level. He found his the first time he looked in a mirror and saw the scars, the tattoos and the missing eye. The bottom line is he’s not the right guy for her. She tells him not to say that – he promised to fight for them. He tells her being here made him realise that this is the kind of place a guy like him needs to be. She tells him he needs to be with her – his wife. Steve says until he gets his memory back she’s just his wife on paper. He thinks she’s beautiful and a nice person but until he gets his memory back he can’t be in her life as her husband. Kayla wants to know if he was just playing her because on the plane all he talked about was finding clues – he never mentioned Eddie’s or Della. Did he just hang out with her and Stephanie to weigh out his options and decide his family just wasn’t interesting enough. He says no. The truth is that even though they share a daughter he doesn’t feel the same connection to her as she does toward him. He wants her to try and understand. Kayla thought with the more time he spent in Salem the more he wanted to stay – that he knew that is where his heart was. Della intrudes. She has a question to help them sort this through. Does he remember making love to this woman (Kayla). She didn’t think so but he remembers them. This is his life – this is where he belongs. She’s not giving up on him – she kisses him and tells him she’ll wait for him at the bar. Kayla says don’t you want to remember your past with me. He doesn’t know if he’s any good for him. He could be dangerous – what if the DiMera’s come after her and Stephanie because of him. She says you sound like a family man but you’re trying to protect me for all the wrong reasons. It was hard enough to live without him when she thought he was dead but to live without him knowing that he is alive and with someone else … she doesn’t think she can do that. He says if he can’t remember her as his wife how can he be her husband.
Dune: Chelsea is dancing with two guys. Max glowers and then drags her away. He wants to know what she is doing. She’s dancing with friends. He wants to go outside and talk. She doesn’t. Max wants to know what the hell is going on with her. Chelsea whines that he was so busy with his car – she wants to have fun. He reminds her she promised she wouldn’t do this anymore – drinking and partying with strangers.. She says she can hang out with friends – just like Stephanie is his friend. He says she’ll never change and walks out. Stephanie follows him. Abby says that went well. Chelsea smirks and says he’ll be back. Max grumbles to Stephanie about Chelsea – how come she didn’t understand that he had to work on his car. Stephanie thinks anyone outside the racing industry has a hard time understanding. He doesn’t think the relationship is going anywhere. He has never wanted a serious relationship before – it shouldn’t be this hard. Stephanie tells him to face it – maybe he wasn’t meant to be with Chelsea. Chelsea and Abby talk. Abby thinks that Max cares about her too much which is why Chelsea pushes him away. Chelsea reminds Abby of Sami. Chelsea says she will never be like Sami – she’s a loser. She has so many wedding gowns in her closet she can open her own bridal shop – she’ll never end up like that. Abby says especially if no one asks her. Chelsea is not ready to settle down. She does know how to handle men. She will be with Max and no matter what she won’t let him end up with Stephanie. Max tells Stephanie that maybe people like them aren’t cut out for long term relationships. She disagrees. She says she talked to her parents about this. She’s a lot like her father – all about thrill and danger. He settled down with her mom and they were totally in love. That is what she wants. Max hopes she finds her true love one day like her parents did. Max describes the kind of man she needs – Max believes that kind of guy is out there. He doesn’t think he’ll have that kind of relationship with Chelsea. Abby tells Chelsea that she will lose Max if she keeps pushing him away. Chelsea says it hasn’t happened yet. She wants to go party.
Hospital: Shawn tells Belle it will all work out. She hopes he doesn’t hate her. He couldn’t (but I know a lot of others that could and do – LOL!) She says that Philip almost died today because of her. Shawn tells her it was an accident. She says Philip was very angry and she can’t blame him. She keeps going back and forth – she’s committed to her marriage – she’s not committed to her marriage. She needs to make up her mind 100% (and we should care because …???) If this baby is not going to bring them back together she needs to let it go once and for all. Shawn hugs her. Philip comes out and very sarcastically thanks Shawn for looking after his wife. He can say how upset she is about almost losing her husband today. (Woo hoo – you go Philip!!!) Belle goes to Philip and whines – saying she’s a hormonal mess – she almost lost her husband. He sees through her lies. He tries to tell himself to stay calm and stay supportive and then I get out of my hospital bed and walk out and find you in his arms. He wants to get through this but she’s got to help him – what the hell are you doing? Stare. Mimi joins them. Shawn is glad she is there. Shawn declares the four of them need to talk about what they’re going to do. Belle speaks for Philip saying he’s not up to it – Philip, who is a big boy, speaks for himself and says they all need to say what’s on their minds. Shawn assumes they’ve all talked to their lawyers about custody and visitation. The good thing is they live across the hall from each other. It will be convenient. Philip thinks it may be too convenient. Shawn gets on his high horse and tells Philip they are going to be in each other’s lives – like it or not. If he remembers they used to be friends. Belle whines – we’re family. Mimi says which is why we all have to be honest about everything before they make any decisions about what to do. There is something they all need to know.
What follows is the fantasy of Mimi telling the truth. Belle spouts her valley girl indignation – Shawn calls her a liar – wants and annulment then tells Philip he only stayed away from Belle because they were a family but Claire and this new baby – its fate. Belle and he love each other – Belle grins … they traipse off together like two year olds … Philip turns on Mimi and says he wants full custody of the baby – she will never see the baby. End of the fantasy. Shawn asks her if she is okay. Mimi says she was just thinking of what she was going to say and how she was going to say it. She knows the four of them have a very complicated history and this is especially hard for her and Philip. She tells Philip that she knows that they both hate what is happening but fighting is not going to solve anything. We have to get through this together – the four of us. Shawn tells Philip he is a good dad – he doesn’t care about biology – Philip is the father. And yes, he will want to be a part of this child’s life. Along with Claire these children are going to have 4 parents and that’s a good thing. He says he hopes they will be friends for life and he wants their kids to be friends for life. They need to be good role models for them – show them what friendship, love and family means. He thinks they can do it but they have to go into this together. Philip turns away. Shawn tells him he knows this is hard but Belle and he have told him that Belle will not leave him (Philip) and he (Shawn) is fully committed to his marriage. Mimi has never done anything to shake his faith in her. She has always been honest, faithful and true in their relationship. Shawn then lies straight to Philip’s face by saying Belle has done the same for him since the moment they took their vows. She stood by him in tough times. She’s always been there for him. Don’t turn your back on her – don’t push your family away now. Philip knows his family needs him – he will never abandon them. He tells Belle that he loves her, he loves Claire – he doesn’t want to lose her. Belle says she loves him to – she was so afraid she was going to lose him today (LOL – and she lies with a straight face yet). Philip says they’ll get through this. Shawn tells Mimi that things will work out as long as they’re honest with each other and keep communicating.
Sami’s: Carrie says that Lucas should call the contractor and cancel the plans for the nursery. She’s sorry. She wanted to have a baby so badly she talked herself into having morning sickness. She says because of this baby they’re not having she rushed their wedding. Lucas is happy they got married baby or no baby. She talks about the baby book and now the pages are always going to be blank. He reminds her that Lexie told them there was a chance. She says less than 1% - if he doesn’t want to stay married to her she’ll understand. She knows how much he wanted a younger brother or sister for Will thinking they would have a new baby in a few months. He tells her he married her because he loves her. Lucas has to ask – now that they’re not having a baby does she regret marrying him? Carrie says no – she loves him. He is so wonderful – she’s lucky to be his wife. He says he’s the lucky one. Carrie decides they should go and join Austin and Sami. He said he had a special surprise for Sami and it sounded like he wanted them to be there. They need to tell them – it will be difficult but they should get it over with.
Rooftop: EJ talks about the wonderful meal and the beautiful engagement. Sami can’t stop staring at it but she thinks it’s too expensive. Austin says it has to last a lifetime. Austin goes to get more champagne. Sami takes her ring off and tells Austin that she doesn’t deserve it. Sami doesn’t think she should wear his ring until she tells him … she stops. He wants to know what she has to tell him. She wants to tell how lucky she feels to have him in her life. She doesn’t feel like she deserves to be happy. She’s so lucky to have him believe in her and she’s trying so hard to be worthy of his love. Austin says so is he. She doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s perfect. Austin doesn’t think so – he never wants to hurt her. Sami doesn’t want to hurt him either. He wants her to wear the ring always. They kiss. Austin has to run and get the dessert wine – he’ll be right back. EJ tells Sami she has to tell Austin the truth – she can’t keep stalling. She knows but she can’t get the words out. Once he finds out what she did to keep him and Carrie apart he’ll never forgive her. He’ll take the ring back. EJ tells her it’s not about the ring. Sami knows – it’s about her life. Austin returns with Carrie and Lucas. Austin tells them they missed the main event – he finally gave Sami an engagement ring. Congratulations all around. Lucas says it’s a lot nicer than the one I gave you. Sami says she wouldn’t have said it out loud but it’s true. Lucas wants to know why she doesn’t look all that thrilled when it should be the happiest night of her life. She says am I still supposed to be in love with you. She’s just shocked and overwhelmed. Lucas doesn’t buy it. Carrie wants him to stop. Austin asks if the baby is fine.
Carrie says everything is fine. Toast to the baby. Carrie tells Lucas she didn’t want to say anything to ruin the party. Lucas says he knows she’s disappointed but they can still have a family. They have Will and there’s always adoption. She just feels bad that he missed out on all the infant stuff with Will and … He tells her he’s not missing out – he wouldn’t change places with anyone. Rooftop: Let’s do a count on how many times in different variations EJ tells Sami to tell the truth and how many times Sami says she knows and she can’t … sigh.
Scene 1: EJ – 1 Sami – 0 EJ tells Sami to grow up and take responsibility for her actions. I like that!
Scene 2: EJ - 3 Sami – 3 Great flashback of Austin leaving Sami at the altar in Las Vegas. EJ tells her she has to make a choice of telling Austin herself and risking a few minutes of heartache or let someone else tell him and risk a lifetime of heartache and pain.
Scene 3: EJ - 1 Sami – 1 Sami thinks it’s possible that the person writing the notes doesn’t know what she actually did – is just taking a guess that she did something based on her past history. If she told Austin she would be ruining her life for nothing. EJ asks her if she wants to take that chance – the person could be writing a note right now and what if they hand deliver it to Austin this time. Camera cuts to the gloved hand outside of Sami’s apartment putting a note in an envelope.
Scene 4: EJ - 1 Sami – 2 EJ believes Austin will understand because he loves her. Flashback to a Sami/Lexie conversation. Sami declares that Austin will never forgive her.
Scene 5 EJ - 0 Sami - 1 Sami admits that she did this out of greed and spite and selfishness and because she didn’t want to be alone. EJ doesn’t think it can be that bad. Sami says when I tell you about you won’t want anything to do with me.
Sami’s: Carrie tells Lucas she rushed their wedding because she thought she was pregnant – she only married him because she thought she was pregnant. Lucas says that wasn’t the only reason they got married – they love each other. She knows but ever since she talked to Lexie she’s been getting more and more upset. She needs some time to think about everything. Lucas promises her they will take things slow from now on. Get to know each other on their honeymoon – get closer and talk about adoption when they get back. Carrie has a headache. Lucas goes to get some aspirin from the bathroom. Austin walks in the room. Lucas comes out – no aspirin – she must be used to giving headaches not getting any. Austin tells him not to start. Lucas apologises – old habits die hard. Lucas goes to the drug store to get some aspirin. He asks Austin to look after Carrie. After he leaves Austin tells Carrie he heard what she told Lucas about the baby. She feels like a failure. He hugs her.
Austin asks her why she didn’t say anything up on the roof when he was going on and on about her baby. She didn’t want to spoil their special night. She tells him that Lexie told her she can never have children. Austin says he’s really sorry – he knows how much she wanted a family. Carrie says she has to suck it up and stop feeling sorry for herself. Austin says you and Lucas are talking about adopting. Carrie says that is not what is bothering her. Austin was right – she only got married because she thought she was pregnant. This marriage was a huge mistake. Austin says they talked about this a lot – she was so sure. She says she’s not so sure she would have gone through with it if she knew she wasn’t pregnant. Austin knew she was having second thoughts. He has to ask – does she wish she had married him instead of Lucas. She doesn’t think there is any point talking about it. She’s married to Lucas and he’s engaged to Sami – nothing is going to change that. The hand slips the note under the door. Carrie sees it. Austin picks it up. Lucas returns and sees the person and calls out what are you doing.
Eddie’s in Cincinnati: Kayla wants to leave but Steve says this is where he belongs. He spent a lot of time with her, Stephanie and Jack in Salem but not one thing was familiar to him. He doesn’t want her putting her life on hold for him. He thinks it’s best they go their separate ways. He thinks it’s time for them to say goodbye. Kayla says she can’t say goodbye to him and she doesn’t believe that is one. He tells her that he doesn’t know who he is and he doesn’t know who she is. She says I’m your wife. He doesn’t see how they can have a meaningful relationship when he doesn’t remember anything about them. Kayla tells him they can start all over – she is still holding out hope that one day he will remember what they head. He thinks someone did this deliberately to him – they don’t want him to remember. Kayla has declared war on that person – they have taken away her marriage her family. It makes her want to fight but that’s not what he wants – he doesn’t want to fight for them. He says no, I don’t.
Kayla refuses to give up just because he is. He isn’t – it’s just that he doesn’t know how to fight for something he doesn’t remember. She thought that was what this trip was about. He says the trip showed him that this is where he belongs. She tries to tell him that her life is with him. He’s the only man she ever loved. She tried to move on to create a family but she couldn’t move on because she knew she could never love another man the way she loved him. If he walks out of her life tonight she will love him for the rest of her life – that is just the way it is. He tells her she deserves to have that kind of love in return but he doesn’t think it can come from him. Steve wants her and Stephanie to get on with their lives and stop worrying about him. He won’t drop out of sight – he’ll stay in touch. He wants her to stop banging her head against the wall trying to get him to remember the person she remembers. He’s never going to be that guy again. He tells her to go to Africa like she planned – let Stephanie get on with her career. She says you’re talking to me like a husband – a parent. He knows that she doesn’t like his life but she’s asking him to give up the life he knows. She’s asking him to choose between a blank slate and what’s comfortable and familiar. What would she choose? She says do you want me to go. He tells her that is what he needs. She says I guess this is it. He says even though he doesn’t remember them it’s nice to know he had some people that loved him. Kayla says they still do. He wishes he could be the Steve Johnson he remembers but he is different now. She says not to her … He stops her and tells her to try to understand. She says she tried but she will never understand – never. She gets up and leaves. She can’t get the car unlocked because her fingers are trembling so she throws them down and cries.
Preview: Carrie to Austin – Hurting someone as wonderful as Lucas – I can’t do it. They hug – Lucas sees them. Stephanie to Max – Don’t apologise for Chelsea. Chelsea – I owe you both an apology. Sami to EJ – This is exactly why I hate telling the truth because now you hate me too just like I knew you would. Kayla coming in to Eddie’s and seeing Steve and Della kissing.
