Friday Feb 1
Ireland: The group stand around and stare – it can’t be her … is she saying she faked her death … Colleen says it is I as any fool can plainly see (LOL!) John stares. Bo doesn’t believe her. Hope says you look like her but you can’t be Colleen Brady. She says why in heaven’s name not. Shawn makes an inane comment – it’s not possible. Colleen says it’s possible – look at the pictures for proof. Marlena says the pictures were taken a long time ago. Colleen agrees and she’s added a wrinkle or too but look into her eyes – eyes don’t change. They’re the same eyes as when she was young and in love. She hears that Marlena’s Samantha is the spitting image of her when she was young. Bo wants to know what her game is. Colleen says she’s already admitted to deception being involved but it would be a mistake to consider it a game. Marlena informs her they read her and Santo’s letters. Colleen held on to those for a long time. She longed for his strong arms around her but all she had was his words. Their love was deep and strong. It held her together and tore her apart. They talk about how she died by throwing herself off a cliff. Colleen says to kill herself would have been a mortal sin. She wanted everyone to think she had died. She was a disgrace to the convent, the church and God. She left her habit on top of the cliff and ran. She loved Santo, she slept with him so she ran and hid so he would go back to his wife and son. She was prepared to give up everything for him but he lied to her – he was already married. Her hopes for a future with him were dashed as were his hopes for a future with her. She heard that Santo never smiled again and that Stefano bore the brunt of his pain. He blamed me for it for all the days of his life. John stares.
Santo’s love was merely a memory but a memory that burned me so I could never love again. Marlena tells her that Santo was a broken man after he lost you – Stefano said so himself. That’s why he hated you; he hated all the Brady’s. Colleen says what a waste. Hope and Marlena tell her that Stefano holds her responsible for his father’s heartache; she destroyed is life. Colleen feels by faking her death she gave Santo back his life – he could honour his vows to his wife. Bo asks if any one believes her. Shawn doesn’t know, Belle does, Chloe does, Philip thinks it wouldn’t be hard to dig up some of this info and fabricate some of it. Bo insinuates the woman stole a dead person’s identity. Colleen ties into him – first of all she doesn’t fabricate. And secondly her identity is her own. She’s Colleen Brady. She was born with that name; it’s the name she will carry until her very last breath.
Hope asks her where she went when she faked her death. Colleen tells them Santo could never find out she was alive so she moved to another part of Ireland, changed her name and took work as a seamstress. Marlena says – you were a seamstress before you joined the convent. Colleen began sewing when she was a child. It’s the only work she ever knew. Hope asks if she stayed in Ireland all her life. No, the risk of being discovered was far too great. She moved to South America. She never married – Santo was her one true love, she could never love again. So she worked days and nights. She started making clothing for the children and then women liked her designs so she started sewing for them. Then the men wanted her to make clothing for them. She had more work than she could handle so she hired people to work for her. As the word of her designs grew, so did her business. She found she had a knack for finances as well. The money she made allowed her to make inquiries regarding her relations. Hope asks when she found out she had relatives in Salem. Only recently when she found about the anger and resentment Stefano harboured towards the Brady’s and how he tried to hurt them. She took some responsibility for that – some of what happened was her fault. Marlena says Stefano only has himself to blame for the man he became. Colleen says if she hadn’t destroyed his father’s heart he might have grown into an amiable young man. Bo says there isn’t an amiable bone in his body. He’s evil. Colleen says that he is. She had to keep him from hurting anyone else – that’s why she did what she did. She must ask all of them for their forgiveness. She took something of theirs – that’s why most of them are here. She calls for Crystal. Crystal brings Claire to the room.
Everyone gushes and crowds around Claire. John stalks Colleen – the knife comes out. Marlena reminds John that’s his granddaughter. He says how nice. Marlena drags him over to the huddle. Bo starts lashing out at Colleen – how could she send people to Salem to kidnap an innocent child. Bo continues ranting. Hope joins in. Colleen tries to explain – they don’t want to hear. Bo declares they are going to have to press charges. She tells him it’s not up to him. Bo won’t look the other way when it’s something serious like this (he’ll only do that when it’s his son doing the kidnapping). Colleen tells him that’s exactly how she felt about protecting her relations. She felt the same way about protecting Brady Black. She sent Rob and Crystal to Austria but they were too late – Brady was already missing. Chloe asks – where is he. Colleen doesn’t know. She looks at Chloe and says do you have any idea where Brady is? Chloe looks startled and then says no – she walks off to be alone. Colleen can only pray that no evil befell him. Marlena reminds John that Brady is his son. He was in Austria when he went missing. John says that’s too bad. Colleen sits down in her chair. Bo and Hope want to know why she felt she had to take Claire and Brady. Colleen says safekeeping and that’s all she’s going to say for now. She closes her eyes. Bo and Hope notice how John is watching Colleen. Hope and Bo gush over Claire. Marlena stares at John. Philip goes to a crying Chloe but she turns away. John makes his way towards Colleen and sits opposite her.
Brady pub – Part 1: Chelsea, Nick, Stephanie and Max enter. Chelsea thanks Max for doing what he did. They sit around and rehash everything – they did the right thing. Stephanie doesn’t trust Mr. Decker. She thinks he’ll go back on his word. Mr. D. comes in – he just came from the morgue and it was horrible. He’s going to talk to the DA and have him bring full charges against Chelsea. Arguments are made, threats are made and Mr. D. leaves Chelsea in tears with his parting shot – he hopes Chelsea rots in hell for what she did. Billie and Kate come in – it’s going to be okay. Chelsea – none of them – did anything wrong. Kate tells Chelsea to come along with her.
Safe house: Sami is trying to comfort a crying Allie who has a fever when her phone rings. It’s Lucas. He asks which baby is crying. She says his daughter. She’s sick and Lucas isn’t there to help look after his daughter. He’s in prison and she feels like it’s her fault and for him making her feel that she wants to hate him. If he had trusted her none of this would be happening. She wouldn’t have to contemplate a life without the man she loves. Lucas asks – so you still love me. Of course she does and she still wants to kill him. She can’t believe they’re apart like this. Lucas says if he pleads guilty he won’t be in jail forever. Sami starts to say something but sees EJ so she tells Lucas she can’t talk anymore. She asks EJ how long he’s been eavesdropping. He wasn’t – he was trying to let her finish her conversation. In case she forgot he does live here at least for now. Sami asks what that means. It means their situation has changed somewhat dramatically.
EJ tells her that his father is no longer a threat. Sami scoffs. He’d be a threat even if he was dead. EJ says he’s not dead. He’s in a coma. The doctors say he’s catatonic, in a vegetative state. They thought a stroke might have caused it but the test results ruled that out. Lexie can do some more tests but Tony, he and Lexie decided to just let Stefano rest. It’s not pleasant to see one’s father like that but when they thought of the things he’s capable of doing. Sami says you know he’s not just capable – he does them. EJ says not anymore. They think they’ll send him to a sanatorium and he’ll be looked after by the state. He’ll be there until he meets his maker. Sami says imagine that meeting. Allie starts to cry – EJ goes to her. He tells Sami that he really regrets following in his father’s footsteps. She tells him he can’t change the past. EJ knows but he can be a better man for her and the children. He picks up Allie and tries to settle her down. Sami asks if this means they’ll get to go home. EJ says yes. Sami’s phone rings. It’s Lucas. He wants her to bring Allie and visit so he can say goodbye.
Police station: A cop brings Lucas into the office – Roman and Abe are there. He tells them he wants to confess. They’re shocked. A court stenographer is there recording his statement. Abe wants to know why he confessed. Lucas says he committed a crime – he has to take responsibility for it.
Kiriakis mansion: Kate, Billie & Chelsea arrive. Victor is happy to be back he’s just sorry it wasn’t with Brady at his side. Kate says that’s not what they’re here about. A boy tried to rape Chelsea. Victor asks if she’s alright. She is. What’s the boy’s name? Billie said it was Ford. Victor says was – did he change it or is he dead. He’s dead. There’s not a lot Victor can do then. Chelsea tells him the boy’s father wants her thrown in prison. Did she kill him? Victor learns he fell down the staira. He can’t have bad things happening to Chelsea – consider the matter taken care of. Victor makes a call and then tells them it’s taken care of. They thank Victor and start to leave but Chelsea has one more favour. Max helped her move the body. Victor asks if Max has a criminal record. No. If the circumstances are the way she described them he doesn’t think Max will get more than a slap on the wrist. Keep him informed. Crawford Decker comes in. Victor believes there’s been a misunderstanding regarding Chelsea Brady.
Brady Pub – Part 2: It’s just Max and Stephanie now. Billie and Chelsea return. Billie tells them that Victor made one phone call. Crawford will never be a problem again. Chelsea tells Max that he said he couldn’t do anything to get Max out of trouble so he’s still going to have to talk to the police.
Preview: Lucas to Sami – It’s over. I pled guilty to the attempted murder of EJ DiMera. Bo (Hope is with him) to Steve and Kayla – Right now we gotta make sure Pop sees his sister. He’s in for one hell of a reunion. John to Marlena – I told you I’m not going to hurt anyone especially not that helpless old woman.

Tuesday Feb 5
Ireland – Part 1:
John, Marlena & Colleen: John tells Colleen that he was sent to kill her and that’s what he plans to do. She tells him if he kills her he’d be condemning himself. He asks - to hell. She says hell would be a walk in the park compared to what he’d be facing if he slits her throat. John thinks that’s rich – killing her would condemn him to a fate worse than hell. He was condemned a long time – shut up, he has a job to do. Colleen tells him that he’s his own person. He’s not a cold-blooded person by nature. This is Stefano’s hatred not his. The bottom line is he was sent to kill her and that’s what he’s going to do. Marlena starts coming to. Colleen can feel the conflict in him – he doesn’t want to kill her. John says want is not the issue – he has to or he’ll never find peace. Colleen says that the way to find peace is not to kill her. If he murders her he’ll never find peace. John raises the knife. Marlena comes to and calls out John’s name. He tells her she can close her eyes or watch this. She says he can’t do this. He doesn’t have a choice. She says he does – he’s no killer. John reminds her he’s done it before and he’s quite good at it. He makes a move – Marlena grabs his legs and says no.
Shawn, Claire & Belle: Claire is sleeping – Shawn is so thankful to have her back. Cue flashbacks of the kidnapping & hospital scene. Belle comes in. More flashbacks – this time of their time in the Inn after getting Claire back and the arrival of Steve, Kayla and Pop Shawn. Shawn thinks that something is off with Steve and Kayla showing up like that. Belle thinks he’s being paranoid – kick back and shut his brain off and relax. Shawn can’t – there’s something more – he feels it. Claire wakes up – Shawn and Belle go to her.
Steve, Kayla, Bo & Hope: Steve explains that bringing Pop here wasn’t the only reason they came. Kayla explains that they got his test results back and the preliminary report was troubling. She didn’t want to blurt it out over the phone so they brought Pop here. They need to run more tests – Bo has to go back to the States. Hope comes down the stairs and asks them what they’re talking about. Bo says Colleen – all three of them rehash the events of Claire’s return and Colleen and Shawn’s reunion. Steve says he hasn’t had a chance to see the countryside – he suggests they take this outside. Bo thinks he’ll stay and have coffee with his sister and catch up. Steve asks Hope to come with him – she does.
Bo says damn it as he grips the bar (I guess Kayla told him the bad news). Kayla tells him they have to get him back home. Bo wants specifics – Kayla gives him some medical terminology. He wants to know what that means. Let’s just say it’s alarming, very alarming. Bo wants to know if it’s life-threatening alarming. Kayla would rather not say until they have more tests. Bo protests – there have been no symptoms. She says that happens – don’t worry. They are going to fight it and beat it. Outside Steve gushes about the countryside and starts talking about leprechauns. Hope wants to know what’s wrong with Bo. Steve tries to avoid the question but Hope won’t let it go. Both Kayla and Bo are acting strange. Steve asks – aren’t they allowed. He brings up what’s happened in the past few days. Hope isn’t buying it. Steve takes a new approach. They’ve been friends for a long time. As long as they’ve been friends he’s always tried to be honest with her. He asks her who she turned to when Bo was having a hard time after he found out Victor was his father. Hope answers you. He asks if he gave her lousy advice. She says no, it was great. Steve says as your friend, I’m telling you that right now you just need to give Bo a little space.
Kiriakis mansion: Chelsea, Billie and Kate are there. Billie asks Victor what makes him think that Crawford Decker is going to stop going after Chelsea. Victor asked him too. Chelsea says he might change his mind. Victor doesn’t think so – Crawford is a reasonable man. Kate disagrees. Victors shrugs – maybe he came to his sensea. He made him a proposition and he accepted. Chelsea wants to know what it was. Billie says no she doesn’t. Roman enters with the autopsy report. The coroner says Ford Decker died from falling down the stairs. Chelsea asks if she’s off the hook. Roman reminds her that Crawford Decker is claiming she pushed him. Everyone pipes in – she didn’t, there are witnesses. Roman believes them but Crawford is looking for someone to blame. Victor tells Roman that Decker is not a problem – it’s all been taken care of. Roman doesn’t think he’ll ask how. The doorbell rings. Victor answers it – it’s Crawford. Victor wants him to see the results of the autopsy. He takes him into the room where everyone else is. Roman tells Mr. Decker that the report says his son died from a fall down the stairs at the Theta house. There’s no evidence that it was anything but an accident. Crawford accepts that. Billie wants to know why he’s changing his mind now. He says his son is gone – there’s nothing he can do to bring him back. Kate knows what he feels like – she thought she lost two of her children. Decker scoffs – thought but she didn’t so she has no idea what she’s talking about. Victor wants a word with Crawford privately. He lectures – he has lost a child, Isabella so he knows what he’s going through. He can’t control the way Crawford feels about Chelsea but he can control how he acts around her and the way he just acted was inappropriate. Crawford will apologise. Victor dismisses him – he has to make a phone call. He instructs Crawford to wait for him in his study.
Victor calls Philip. Philip tells him that they found Claire. The woman that kidnapped her brought her here. Her name is Colleen Brady – she’s Grandpa Shawn’s sister. Victor asks if he thinks she had something to do with Brady’s disappearance. Philip tells him that she said she didn’t and for what it’s worth he believes her. They were going to get him but Brady was already gone. Victor is going to send someone there to get as much information as they can out of Colleen Brady. He wants Brady found. Philip says that Colleen has nothing to gain by keeping Brady. Victor wants to know why she kidnapped Claire in the first place. Philip explains that it was to keep her safe from Stefano. It appears as if Stefano is using John to carry out a mission. Victor isn’t surprised. DiMera is a demented S.O.B. He can’t believe he ever did business with him. He still feels guilty for introducing John as the Pawn all those years ago. Philip tells him that apparently Colleen felt she was the only one that could save the family. He thinks her intentions were good. Victor didn’t get where he is by trusting people like her. Philip says she’s old and she’s frail and he doesn’t think she will lead them to Brady. Victor trusts his judgement. Philip will look a little more. Victor asks when he’s getting back – he needs the plane – the execs have the other two out. Philip will be there for a while but he’ll send the plane back. He’ll either come back on John’s plane or book a flight.
After his call to Philip he calls Bo. Bo tells him they found Claire. Victor knows – he just got off the phone with Philip. He wanted to call with an update on Chelsea. Crawford Decker is no longer an issue. He gave it some thought and decided he didn’t want to pursue the matter any further. The autopsy showed that his son died from a fall down the stairs. The coroner said from the way he landed he must have fallen. The police are accepting Stephanie’s and the other girls’ version of events. Bo says just like that. Victor says just like that – it’s amazing how these things work out. Bo says especially when you’re involved. Bo thanks him for what he did that he doesn’t want to know about. He asks about the other girls. Victor can’t speak for the police but it seems pretty obvious that if he’s not going to prosecute Chelsea he isn’t going to prosecute Stephanie and the others. Bo says he’ll see him when he gets back. Victor tells him not to count on using the Kiriakis jet – it has to get back here so Decker can use it after the funeral. Bo asks – a trip on the Kiriakis dime? Victor says it’s the least he can do for a grieving father.
Kate and Billie thank Roman. Roman would like to say he broke the case but there wasn’t anything to break. Kate kisses his cheek. Crawford and Victor come back in. Billie knows that Mr. Decker is going through a lot but it doesn’t give him the right to drag Chelsea in it with him. He agrees – he’s sorry. Chelsea is sorry too. Victor tells Crawford to wait for him in his study and they’ll go over all the arrangements. After he’s gone Roman takes his leave after shaking Victor’s hand and saying well done. Victor thinks Chelsea is an amazing young woman. He tells Billie she’s done a terrific job – she taught her well. Billie thanks him – maybe she can put that on her resume. The university fired her. Victor and Kate don’t think she’ll have any problem getting another job. Billie asks Victor if he has any leads. He asks her when she could start. He’s offering her a job – head of security, London office. Billie did love London when she was stationed there with the ISA. She’s interested in the job. She looks at Chelsea – unless Chelsea doesn’t want her to go. Chelsea says go – it’s a great opportunity. She wants to come and visit. Chelsea tells Victor as far as grandfather’s go he’s a good one. She hugs him.
Ireland – Part 2:
John, Marlena & Colleen: Marlena says John, don’t do it. He kicks her off him – sorry, blondie but I told you to stay seated. Colleen wants one last word before she dies and she’s quite prepared to do that. You must know that if you kill me you would be killing your own mother. John doesn’t believe her. She insists she is his mother. John thinks she is stalling. Sorry Mom, it’s not going to work. He raises the knife. Colleen says back off boyo, I can prove it. She holds up her necklace. She knows he won’t recognise this. Wait – Marlena does. She shows him the picture she found in his jacket pocket - the jacket he wore the night of his accident. Colleen takes that picture and holds it up to John – that’s him sitting on his mother’s lap – her lap. Marlena tells John it’s the same medallion. Colleen dreamt of the day she would find him and explain that she was his mother. John says – you knew I was coming. She says when he came through the door she saw something in his eyes. They weren’t the same soft eyes of the boy in the picture, they were the hard eyes of Stefano. Marlena reminds John that Stefano is no longer a problem. He no longer controls him and never can again. He’s comatose and he’ll stay that way until he dies. John is good with that. He steps away from Colleen.
Marlena asks her to tell them how she came to be John’s mother. John says by all means – he wants to process the details. Colleen found out she was with child shortly after she faked her death which made it more urgent that Santo never found her. She named him Ryan. She left her family and country – she had no choice but to escape. She went to Argentina – it was a difficult voyage. The only light in her being was the new life growing inside her. John asks – feeling any of that light about now? Colleen says it may surprise him but she is. He’s here, her family is here – this place is full of life. John wants to know about Argentina. Colleen knew that if Santo found out she was alive he would desert his family and try and find her. She would never come between a husband and wife. Marlena says but you didn’t know he still had a wife. She was guilty of nothing except falling in love. Colleen says the good Sisters told her the same thing. John wants to know which Sisters those were. Colleen gives him the name of the parish. An Irish sister gave her a letter of introduction to give to the Mother Superior. She was kind enough to let her stay and soon after she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. They leaved in the peace and calm of the convent for two happy years. The Sisters adored him. But finally the Mother Superior said it was time for them to leave – it was no place to raise a boy. The Sisters gave her what little money they had but that soon ran out. She asked an orphanage to look after him so she could get off the streets. John says you abandoned your little baby. Colleen says no – she had full intentions of bringing him back. She made an arrangement with the Head Master. He would allow her to see him every Sunday in exchange for mending socks and clothing. She lived for those Sundays. They played together – he had such a grand smile. Then she found work as a seamstress in a factory and she was just about coming to get him but it was not to be. John asks – why not. Colleen says her hand was badly injured in a sewing machine accident. She was infected with tetanus and ended up in a hospital delirious for two months. When she finally got her strength back she went to the orphanage but he was gone. The Head Master had been dismissed and they said they had no idea where he was. She became confused and outraged and they threw her into the streets. John says there has to be more. Colleen says from that day on she existed only to find him. She never stopped looking for him. Marlena asks her when she found out where he is. Colleen says only recently she found he was adopted by a ruthless and powerful family, the Alamain’s. There’s no telling what they might have done if they had known he was half-brother to Stefano DiMera.
John – so Santo DiMera is my father. Colleen says of course – she’s only been with one man her whole life and that was Santo. Marlena says that sounds like such an impossibility. Colleen thinks that if Stefano had known John was his half-brother he never would have sent him on a mission to destroy her. Marlena says it’s ironic. The two people Stefano would never want near each other, Colleen and John. She asks when Stefano found out Colleen was alive. Over a year ago – he didn’t know where she was. He became obsessed with finding her. John says obsession is what rules him. Colleen says and anger. She never thought he’d find her. She couldn’t let her find him. She couldn’t even take the risk of contacting her own brother. Marlena asks when Stefano found out where she was. Colleen says he never did. He left that little task to her son. If Stefano had known that she bore his father’s child he never would have brought them together. Marlena says then it was fate. Colleen says no it was God. John holds the knife to Colleen’s neck. Colleen says if you kill me you’ll destroy what’s left of yourself. John leaves the room.
Steve, Kayla, Bo & Hope: After Bo hangs up from talking to Victor he tells Kayla that Chelsea isn’t go to be charged and Stephanie’s in the clear too. They can breathe easy – it’s a good day. Kayla hugs him. Bo and Kayla come outside. Bo says just when you thought it couldn’t get any better Crawford Decker decided to call it quits – he’s not going after Chelsea anymore. Steve asks about Stephanie. Kayla says she’s in the clear. Hope wants to know what makes Bo think Decker isn’t going to go back on his promise again. Bo tells her he got it from a very reliable source. Kayla suggests that Bo and Hope get home to Chelsea. Bo agrees – they’ll take the first flight back. Steve says they’ll take it from here. They got Claire back, they met their aunt – they’ll take care of Grandpa Shawn. Everything is under control. Kayla asks if they want them to call the airlines. Bo says no they can take care of it. Hope says you really are trying to get rid of us, aren’t you. Steve says yes we are – go home and take care of your daughter. Shawn comes out – Bo and Hope tell him they’re going to catch a flight back to the States. He asks if something is wrong. Marlena comes running out – John’s run off.
Preview: Morgan to Chelsea – We need to deal with the betrayal of our trust. Marlena to the group – This mission is what he lived for. It was his whole existence. I’m afraid he may be a walking time bomb. John holds the knife to his throat.

Wednesday Feb 6
Cheating Heart: I’m not going into any detail of these scenes. It’s a complete rehash of Ford’s death and the cover-up except somehow Chelsea has now declared herself saint and martyr. And oh yeah – someone she’s the one that her put her life on the line for the ‘sisters’ – how – by being stupid enough to leave her drink with Ford when she knew his penchant for drugging drinks??? Not to worry – Nick won’t leave her (rolling my eyes). Chelsea is upset because the sorority house is the only place she felt accepted. Stephanie declares that if Chelsea goes so does she. Somehow Morgan is made out to be the enemy when all she did was deliver the message – she does say she’s on Chelsea’s side but that doesn’t seem to matter. On a positive note – Stephanie’s hairstyle was beautiful today – she looked great.
Ireland: Chloe turns down an offer to be an understudy for a role at an opera house in Milan. Philip wonders if she turned it down because she doesn’t want to return to mainland Europe. She insists she turned it down because it was an understudy role. Philip is sceptical. She has to be worried that the Austrian authorities still suspect her in Brady’s disappearance. She says no – you said you believed me. It doesn’t matter what he believes – the question is can she prove it.
Downstairs Shawn, Belle and Claire are informed by the others upon their return that they didn’t find John. Marlena appears to be worried about Colleen to Belle so she asks if something is going on with Dad. Marlena informs them that John had a knife – he tried to kill to Colleen. Colleen is alright – he stopped himself. Killing Colleen was his mission but there was something more powerful than Stefano’s mission. She’ll tell them but brace yourselves, it’s pretty shocking and completely unexpected. Outside in a clearing in a wooded area John stands and studies the knife.
Chloe goes on the defensive – she’s tired of telling Philip that she had nothing to do with Brady’s disappearance. He reminds her that she lied to him about her career bottoming out and being divorced. She tells him she did okay in Europe – she was building a career but she had a way to go. Philip asks her what she is going to do when Brady’s found. Is she going to go back to him and try and save her marriage? The important thing is that he’s found. She loves Brady and he loves her. Sometimes you can love someone with your whole heart and it just isn’t enough. Philip agrees. He admits that it isn’t easy for him to put back the pieces of his life without Belle and Claire but he refuses to sit around and feel sorry for himself. Chloe assures him that in time he’ll find love again. He hopes everything works out for her as well.
Marlena tells them about John knocking her out – she’s fine – just a bump on the head. When she came too she tried to reason with him but nothing worked. He was about to go after Colleen when she told him she’s his mother. Bo wants to know if Marlena thinks Colleen was lying to protect herself. She doesn’t. She had the medallion that John’s mother had in the photograph. Belle mutters – Colleen is my grandmother. Marlena says finding out that Colleen was his mother took John by surprise. She thinks that is why he ran off. She’s terrified of what he may do. The mission is what he lived for – his sole existence. She’s afraid he’s a walking time bomb. Bo, Shawn and Steve are about to go and look for John. Philip comes down the stairs and when he finds out John is missing he goes with the guys. Hope wants to come along too. Bo says no – he’s not himself. He’s dangerous. She reminds him she’s a cop. That is why he wants her to stay here – in case he comes back intent on completing his mission. John replays Colleen’s reveal in his mind. He yells ‘stop it’ and then holds the knife to his throat.
The ladies talk about John being a Brady and a DiMera. Marlena says they can do a blood test if there’s any doubt. Hope says – all those years John spent not knowing who he really was. That’s why Marlena’s so worried about him. Belle asks if she thinks he will hurt himself. Marlena has no idea what Stefano programmed into him if his mission failed. Kayla offers to check on Colleen but Belle says she’ll go – she’s her granddaughter. Kayla asks Marlena what she thinks John will do when they find him. Resist with everything he’s got.
Bo yells at John – don’t. Its okay, Marlena told them what happened. It’s not okay – save your breath, he knows what he has to do. Bo says what you have to do is give me that knife and take a walk back to the pub. John doesn’t think so. He failed. He let his emotions get in the way of his mission. Bo tells him that all that proves is that he’s human not some mindless pawn of Stefano’s. John argues – he failed. There’s nothing left to live for. Bo tells him he’s got plenty to live for. You gotta go on. John answers – what makes you think I want to? Bo has to jump in and prevent John from using the knife. They struggle – John has the knife ready to plunge into Bo’s chest.
Belle brings Claire with her to see Colleen. Colleen is in bed. Belle just got the news. Colleen says yes you are my granddaughter and your precious child my great-granddaughter. Claire is on the bed next to Colleen. Colleen says she is so beautiful and innocent – may she always stay that way, untouched by evil. Belle apologises for John – Stefano had control. Colleen tells her to relax – she knows what Stefano is capable of. She watched over them for a long time – she can’t say what it means to her to see them with her very own eyes. Belle asks if she is coming back to Salem. Colleen says no, this is her home. Belle says your family is in Salem. Colleen says her heart will always be with them, it always has. Belle says she barely knows her. Colleen wants to give her something to remember her by.
Downstairs Chloe says the implications of this are staggering. Marlena says that Colleen is also Brady’s grandmother. This means Stefano is Brady’s uncle. Chloe asks if she thinks Stefano knew any of this – could that be the reason behind Brady’s disappearance. Marlena says Colleen says no and she believes her – so does Hope. Chloe offers to go to the kitchen and make some tea. Hope says she is going to tell Pop what’s been happening. She gets off the stool – she’s dizzy – she thinks it’s because she hasn’t eaten since breakfast.
Bo struggles with John. He tells John he’s not the enemy. Bo ends up with the knife. John says kill me. Bo says no – that’s not going to happen. You couldn’t kill me, could you? John answers – you’re not the target. Bo says you couldn’t kill your target either because she’s your mom. John says I failed – kill me. Bo wonders if Stefano programmed him to die if the mission failed. All John wants is peace. He doesn’t remember his life. He doesn’t remember his wife and his children. When he’s face to face with them he doesn’t care. He doesn’t feel anything. When he realised the target was his mother he chose not to kill her. Bo says that is very important. Bo tells him they are good friends – like brothers. There was a time when they thought they were brothers thanks again to the DiMera’s – but he doesn’t remember that. John doesn’t remember anything. He tried with that woman they call ‘Doc’. He doesn’t feel anything. Bo says his wife and daughter love him and want him back. He’s got a good life and its hell of a lot better than the alternative – a life on the run, no home, no friends, no one you care about and no one who cares about him. John asks if he is free to go. Bo says go, stay – the choice is his.
Chloe brings the tea in just as Bo and John return. Bo wants to talk to Marlena. John sits with them – he pulls a cigar out – he thinks he wants a drink. Bo pulls out the knife and tells Marlena when he found John he had this pressed up against his throat. Marlena says – you tried to kill yourself. Outside Steve gets the call from Kayla that Bo found John. He asks if she talked to Hope yet. She hasn’t. He says they have to find the time to talk to them both and get them home. She has to call and schedule those tests for as soon as they get back. Steve says Hope is going to take this hard – look what it did to Bo. Kayla says it was so hard telling Bo she can’t even imagine telling Hope. Steve says they’ll do it together. He asks – how do you tell someone you love that they may be dying? Shawn comes along – who’s dying. Steve hangs up – it’s one of Kayla’s patients. Philip asks if it’s anyone they know. Shawn answers – Steve can’t say – patient / doctor confidentiality.
Belle tells Colleen she doesn’t have to give her anything. Colleen wants her to have the medallion. She explains the symbolism. She wore it always to remind herself of her heritage, her strength and her promise to never give up. Maybe one day she can pass it on to her child. She hopes it will give her strength when she most needs it. They hug. Kayla brings Pop Shawn in. Colleen asks for time alone with Shawn. Shawn tells her that Hope told her about John. Colleen says I suppose you hate me for keeping that secret from you too. He could never hate her. He’s just sorry for all the time they lost. She is too – now they have to make the most of the time they have left. Shawn says they have plenty of time together – she’s coming back to Salem with them, isn’t she?
Marlena asks John if he was really going to kill himself. Is that what Stefano programmed him to do if his mission failed. John doesn’t think it really matters since Bo stopped him. Bo says he tried to kill me too but he couldn’t do it. Marlena asks Bo how he kept John from hurting himself. Bo reminded him of whom he is, what his life is. John says I have a private jet. Rumour has it I’m filthy rich. The DiMera’s have a lot of money too, right? Now that he’s related there has to be a way for him to get some of that – could someone please get him a drink?
Hope comes down – Bo goes to her. He tells her John is messed up – he’s worried about him. Hope says they all are but they’re going to get their lives back. Bo says yes – true love can do that. He kisses her. Hope asks - what was that for. Bo needs her to know how much he loves her. The others come in just as Bo is going to say something. Hope wants to talk to Shawn. She goes to Shawn and hugs him. Steve sees Kayla – did she tell Hope yet. No. They have to get them home so the tests can be run. Hope asks Shawn if he’s okay. He’s fine - happy to have Claire back with them. Hope says ow – her back hurts. His dad’s back hurts too – it’s the mattresses here. Hope wants to know if there is any chance of him and Belle getting back together.
Pop Shawn says he called Caroline, his wife. She’d be thrilled to have Colleen come and live with them. Colleen says she won’t be going anywhere that’s why she’s so glad he’s here with her for the end. He asks – the end of what? Colleen – Me life, Shawn. I’m dying.
Shawn tells Hope that he and Belle have a lot to talk about and work through before that can happen. Hope says the question is how do you feel about Belle. Do you still want a future with her. Shawn doesn’t know what he feels or what he wants but after listening to his Aunt Colleen’s stories it made him realise that when two people love each other you move heaven and earth to make it happen. If her and Santo could have been together John would have had a completely different life and so would have all the Brady’s and DiMera’s. Belle comes up – is this a private conversation. Bo takes John a drink. Marlena tells him he has more to live for than money. John asks Bo for another drink. Bo doesn’t think he needs another one. John does – it’s not every day that you come this close to killing your own mother.
Pop Shawn protests – she can’t be dying. It can’t be true. Colleen has known for quite some time that is why she had to step up the efforts to keep the family safe. Shawn says there has to be something they can do - Kayla is a doctor. Colleen has seen all the doctors she is going to see. All she wants now is her family one last time.
Marlena wants to hypnotise John when they get back to Salem. If he doesn’t agree to it she’ll have Bo arrest him for trying to hurt her and him (Bo) and then you won’t get well at all. You’ll spend all your time in jail. John isn’t even sure what get well means and even if he did he’s not sure he would want to. Marlena asks him if he knows what he does want. No. She smiles – that’s why you need me. Hope notices that Belle is wearing Colleen’s medallion. Belle says she gave it to me. Bo sits down. Hope asks if he’s okay. He says John didn’t surrender that knife very easily – he thinks he hurt his back. Hope says her back is killing her too and she didn’t get in a fight with anyone all day. Steve tells Kayla they have to talk to them now. They join the group and ask Shawn and Belle if they can talk to Hope and Bo – it’s just to finalize everyone’s travel arrangements. Shawn and Belle leave. Hope asks what’s going on. Kayla says we need to talk to the both of you. Pop Shawn stands on the stairs and clears his throat. Bo asks if something is wrong. Colleen would like all of them to come up to her room. John thinks it’s just another ploy to get everyone’s sympathy. Kayla asks – what is it Pop? Shawn thinks it’s better if they hear it from Colleen. Come on, all of you. It’s important.
Preview: John to Colleen – You’re pretty much damned for being a liar and betraying your sacred vows to God, aren’t you? Pop Shawn to John – Do you have to be so cruel? Chloe to Philip – This new John is scary. Colleen to John – Who you are now is what you’re going to be forever. That would scare the living hell out of me.

Thursday Feb 7
Ireland – Part 1:
Downstairs Philip and Chloe talk about the impending death of Colleen. The Brady’s just found her and now she’s dying. After he talks to Lexie he tells Chloe that Lexie sounded tense. He tends to forget that Lexie is a DiMera. Chloe says that makes her John’s niece. Philip is glad he didn’t tell her that – it’s better if it comes from John. Chloe is glad that Colleen has her family with her. Philip remarks that there is nothing worse than dying alone. He saw it on the battlefield. The fear of going into the unknown alone. He really thought he was dying. There was no comfort, no resignation, no acceptance – just panic. Chloe says that was because he wasn’t dying. She likes to think that when it’s your time you know and with that the acceptance comes. Philip really hopes that Colleen is finally on her way to finding some peace. Philip is glad they are there – the Brady’s are going to need their support more than ever. The topic lands on Brady. Philip says people don’t just kidnap someone without a damn good reason – there’s been no ransom demand. As far as Chloe knows Brady didn’t have any enemies. Philip doesn’t think Stefano is involved. It was obviously someone else that is very powerful. It’s not easy to make a person disappear without a trace. Whoever it was had something to gain from his disappearance. They just have to figure out who it was and what they had to gain.
Upstairs Pop Shawn and Kayla think they should do something for Colleen. She tells them it’s too late. She’s had cancer for years. Bo tells her she can’t give up. She isn’t. If she was she would have been dead and buried months ago. She waited with everything she could trying to keep her family safe. She wanted to see everyone for the first time and to see her little brother one more time. Pop Shawn says this can’t be goodbye. God wouldn’t be this cruel. Colleen says God isn’t cruel but sometimes fate can be. John snaps – what the hell is the difference. Colleen answers that God is someone you trust and fate – some claim that it is all predestined. She likes to think it’s getting what you earn – you reap what you sow. John says than you’re pretty much damned for being a liar and betraying your sacred vows to God, aren’t you? Collective gasps and shocked looks follow. Pop Shawn gets up and tells John to shut his mouth. He doesn’t care who he is – you don’t talk to Colleen like that. Bo tells John he’s out of line. John is just trying to understand. This woman lied to the man she claimed to love. She faked her death and punished him for loving her. Colleen states that he never told her he was married. John says you were going to be a nun. Weren’t you going to marry God when you slept with this man and conceived your bastard son – me. Pop Shawn yells – I told you to shut up. Colleen tells him it’s alright. He has every right to be angry with her for everything she has done and to hate her for it. John doesn’t care enough about her to hate her. Colleen says that’s a pity. Hating her would mean that he was capable of feeling something. John replies the only thing he feels is disappointment that he didn’t kill her when he had the chance. Pop Shawn says that’s enough John. Hope tells John to stop it – can’t he see how much he’s upsetting him. How could he be so cruel? John says she’s wrong. She’s (Colleen) the one that is cruel, deceitful, manipulative. John looks at everyone – what – suddenly she’s some kind of saint because she’s dying. Marlena answers – no, not because she is dying. She feels bad for hurting people and she wants forgiveness. John snaps what has she done to earn it outside of telling the truth finally. Colleen says of course it’s your decision to forgive me or not but if he has any doubts she loved Santo very much. She likes to think she loved him enough to let him go. She asks John if he knows that kind of love. He’s heard people talk about it but he doesn’t remember it. Colleen says Marlena does. Having known that kind of love and now being without it is as painful for Marlena as it was for her to leave her beloved Santo. John snarls – don’t you ever compare me to that S.O.B. Colleen would never do that. He’s nothing like Santo. She prays with all her heart that someday he might be.
Marlena asks why she would want John to be like Santo. Colleen answers – when she looks at John she only sees a man consumed by bitterness and hate. Belle protests – Stefano did that to him. The man she knows is wonderful, loving, thoughtful … John cuts in coldly and lists off a lot of good traits – a real boy scout. Pop Shawn says the woman is dying. If you’re going to make mockery of her last moments on earth, leave. Colleen tells Shawnie that John needs to hear this. His father loved her with all his heart. She couldn’t let Santo leave his wife. John coldly replies so he cheated on his wife instead – that will lock him down a solid spot in heaven. Colleen tells him to keep his smart mouth shut and listen to her. His father was as tormented by his love for her as she was by her love for him. John scoffs – you think you did him a favour by faking your death. In reality you caused it. Stefano blamed her for his father’s broken heart so he spent his entire life punishing the Brady’s for her crime. Apparently after her death Santo became this broken shell of a man that taught his son bitterness and resentment. Colleen shakes her head no. Santo wasn’t like that. She feels sorry for Stefano. If he had loved like Santo loved his whole life would be different. Marlena says he thought he had love but his love was about dominance. Colleen says then he was truly not his father’s son but she thinks John could be. She thinks his kindness is somewhere deep inside John. Marlena knows it is. John says you women are wrong. He’s not that man. Furthermore he’s not sure he would ever want to be. Pop Shawn rages – do you have to be so cruel. Colleen is afraid he does because he’s terrified. John smiles – of what. Colleen answers – that who you are now is what you’re going to be forever. And trust me if I were you that would scare the living hell out of me. That wipes the smile off John’s face.
John asks – dying isn’t frightening enough for you? Colleen isn’t frightened at all. John makes a snide remark – it must be all that pain medication. Bo thinks it’s time for John to leave. Colleen will decide who goes and who stays. Her son stays. She calls Belle and her husband over. Shawn takes Belle’s hand. Colleen tells her that more than anyone here her, Shawn and their precious Claire are the future of the family. Never forget who you are and where you come from. She loves them both – Goodbye. Hugs are exchanged. Colleen tells Bo that even though he doesn’t have the Brady blood flowing in his veins, he’s got the Brady spirit. She heard that he was quite a rebel and occasionally a pain in the arse. Pop Shawn laughs – more than occasionally. Colleen says as were you Shawnie. Hope – stand by your man. Hope says she’s always tried to. Colleen says he’s a lucky man to have you. Bo agrees. Colleen knows they are going to have a long and happy life together. She asks them to take care of her brother. She knows he’s suffering more than she is. Pop Shawn cries – he doesn’t want to leave her. Colleen says Kayla – you’re a doctor. Kayla wishes she could do something for her. Colleen knows she does because she’s a healer. It’s God-given gift. Colleen then calls Marlena over. She knows she’s the tower of strength in this family. It pleases her to know that they will be in her capable hands and she knows she will do everything she can to keep the family together. Marlena thanks her. Kayla asks if there is anything they can do to make this easier for her. Colleen tells them it’s one of the great joys of her life to have them all here especially at the end. She would like some time alone with her brother and her son. Kayla, Bo and Hope hug Colleen. Bo tells her that he always thought of himself as a Brady. Shawn hugs her and tells her he won’t let Claire forget her. They all leave the room except for Pop Shawn, Marlena and John. Colleen asks Pop Shawn to come and sit with her. Before Belle leaves she takes off the medallion and gives it to her dad. She tells him that his mother gave it to her but she thinks he should have it. Give it to Sami – it will mean so much to her. John takes it and throws it in the garbage. He asks Marlena how much more time does Colleen have.
The others wait outside Colleen’s room. They talk about Colleen being an amazing woman. She was so much more than the woman they thought they knew from the letters. Sami should be here now – wouldn’t that have wonderful. Shawn suggests going downstairs. Bo wants to stay there in case Pop needs him. Kayla is worried about him – it’s so hard on him to see his sister die. Bo says it’s going to be hard but it’s important for him to be here for her and it’s important for us to be here for him when she’s dead and gone. Inside the room Marlena picks the medallion out of the garbage and puts it in her pocket. Pop Shawn tells Colleen he did this to her. He did it when he told their father that Santo was still married. Colleen tells him the truth would have come out anyway – it always does. Shawn doesn’t know how she can find it in her heart to forgive him. Colleen says she is the one who needs forgiveness. He did it because he loved her and wanted to protect her. Shawn cries – don’t leave me Leney – we haven’t had enough time together. Colleen tells him not to talk about their time apart. Think about their childhood – life was so simple and easy. That’s how she wants him to remember her. He doesn’t want her to go. She tells him she loves him. He tells her he loves her – they hug. He kisses her cheek and tells her they’ll be together again. Marlena helps him get off the bed – John yawns. Colleen holds out her hands to John – you won’t deny me my last dying wish. Let me hold you son for the very first and last time since you were a wee child. Let me hold you in me arms. Please. John slowly makes his way to the bed and sits with his back to her. She lays her head on his shoulder and sighs. Marlena cries.
Marlena comes into the hallway and tells them all to come inside – it won’t be long now. They all go back into the room. Colleen tells John she loves him. There’s never been a mother who loved a son more than she loved him. Please John ,do as your mother asks and hold me in your arms one last time. Please John, hold me in your arms. John turns and holds her. She says I have to rest now. I have to rest now, John. I have to rest now. She passes away. John lays her head down and touches her cheek and then pulls away. Pop Shawn comes over and kisses her forehead. John stares. Bo covers Colleen with the sheet and then cradles Pop Shawn in his arms.
Lexie: Lexie calls Philip (she’s at the hospital). She’s been trying to reach both Kayla and Bo but they’re not answering. Philip informs her that they are dealing with a family situation – Colleen Brady is dying. He explains that Colleen faked her death. She’s the one that kidnapped Claire to keep her safe from Stefano. Lexie says the reason she is calling can’t wait. Philip offers to go upstairs and get someone. Can she tell him what this is about. She can’t – it’s personal. She needs to speak to Kayla. Philip will give her the message. Lexie is on the phone with someone – she has to run more tests. She can’t get another blood sample because the patient is out of the country. She does realise this could be fatal. She is trying to get the patient back here as soon as possible.
Ireland – Part 2:
Downstairs They all come down except for John and Marlena. Pop Shawn can’t believe she’s gone. All their lives apart – it was all so unnecessary. Bo says the good thing is you were here with her at the end. Belle asks Philip and Chloe if Steve and Claire are still out. They are – Steve called – he’s getting her some ice cream. Philip says he has to give a message to Kayla. Belle tells Shawn she’s going to make some tea. Chloe will – they should be together now. She goes. Belle tells Shawn Chloe is right – they do need each other now. But she doesn’t know if they are back together or not, are they? Philip goes over to the others – he’s sorry for their loss. Pop Shawn cries – my sister is dead. I lost her for the second time. Philip tells Kayla that Lexie called. Bo hears and asks if Lexie said what it was about. No, she said it was personal but important. Kayla will call her.
Shawn asks Belle if she wants them to be together. Does she think they can make it work. She would like to think this whole experience could be a new beginning for them, their family, their marriage. Does he think it could be? He isn’t angry at her anymore. He and Philip have made their peace. Can he just forget what happened? He can try but he doesn’t know. That’s all she can ask. Shawn takes her hand. Outside the Inn Kayla calls Lexie. Kayla tells her the bad news about Colleen dying. It was very hard on her father. Lexie has more bad news. She reviewed the results of the blood work they had done – it could be worse than they expected. Kayla was afraid of that. They’ll run some more tests as soon as they get back. Bo knows everything but she hasn’t had a chance to tell Hope yet. Lexie tells her that she has to know. She needs to prepare herself so they can deal with this together. Lexie does have some good news. She reminds Kayla of the blood work she had done before they left to check her hormone levels. She’s pregnant. Kayla smiles.
Upstairs Marlena asks John what he’s feeling. He says my mother is dead, what do you think I should be feeling. She says sadness, grief, anger, love. John doesn’t feel any of those. He’s feeling something – he feels like calling that jet and getting the hell out of here. Marlena says okay, if that’s what you want. They start to leave but John stops and looks back at the bed. Marlena asks him what’s happening. He says nothing. Marlena says that’s not true – something’s happening. I can see it in your eyes. Are you remembering? John says no, let’s go. As soon Marlena steps out of the room John shuts the door behind her. He goes to the bed and pulls back the sheet. He looks down at his mother and says goodbye, Mom. He kisses her forehead. He touches his eye and then tastes the tears on his fingers. He covers his mother again and sits next to her with his feet up on the bed as tears stream down his face.
Preview: Hope to Kayla – I get the feeling that you and Steve and Bo are keeping something from me. Care to tell me what it is. Bo to Steve – Just thinking about Hope, what she’s going to go through. Steve – Maybe you should tell her. Bo – No. EJ and Sami in close contact looking into each other’s eyes.

Friday Feb 8
Safe house: Sami looks at the headlines of the morning paper – Lucas Horton Confesses to DiMera Shooting. She notices Allie isn’t in her crib and panics calling out for EJ. She finds them in the bathroom. EJ is sitting in a rocker holding Allie – he’s asleep – the baby isn’t. She takes the baby and wakes him up. He apologises for falling asleep. Sami asks if her baby got any sleep at all. EJ sleepily answers he thinks he got about half an hour. Sami meant Allie. She fell asleep about 5 minutes before him. The steam seems to have done her some good. Sami thanks EJ for looking after Allie – she fell asleep on the couch because she was exhausted. He tells her there is no need to thank him – isn’t this what parents do for their kids.
Allie is now in her crib sleeping. Sami suggests EJ gets some rest that way he can help her pack. With Stefano in a coma they can go home. EJ tells her that Stefano still has people willing to carry out his wishes. Let Abe investigate those people and if says it’s safe to go home – they will. Sami agrees although she thinks it’s stupid that someone would still want to kidnap Johnny when Stefano is incapable of raising him. EJ isn’t disagreeing with her; he’s just not taking any chances when it comes to their kids. EJ is reading the paper when Sami tells him she has to talk to him. She appreciates everything he did last night but she feels like she needs to remind him that Lucas is Allie’s father, not him. EJ is aware of that. Sami wants to make sure that he doesn’t cross any boundaries. He needs to respect that he’s not her father. EJ knows that she is not his but Sami can’t expect him to push her out of his heart just because they don’t share DNA. Sami agrees but she can ask him to respect the fact that Lucas is her biological father. If EJ knows anything it’s that being a good father is about a lot more than biology. It’s about being there and staying up all night when your daughter’s sick. It’s about changing a ??? (didn’t catch what he said), it’s about having her throw up on you, it’s about singing to her until she falls asleep. That’s what makes a good father. He’s sorry but that’s what Lucas gave up when he took matters into his own hands and decided to shoot him. He didn’t just sacrifice his freedom; he gave up on the opportunity to be a father to that girl. He’s sorry if that gets her knickers in a twist but at least Allie has some kind of father figure.
EJ apologises to a crying Sami – he didn’t mean to upset her. She tells him it’s not his fault – she’s just stressed out. EJ tells her he shouldn’t have said anything about Lucas. It’s not his place. Sami tells him he was right though. Lucas is going to pay the price for what he did and the worst part is Allie is going to suffer too. Who knows how old she’ll be when Lucas finally gets out of prison. She goes to the crib. He’ll be a stranger to her. She wants her daughter to know what it’s like to have a dad. She talks about her father being gone for a long time. She had John but it was just a confusing mess and she was really confused. She doesn’t want that for her daughter. EJ tells her there is one big difference, he’s EJ and Lucas is Lucas. There’s no identity crisis here. This little girl is very special. He has a feeling that there will plenty enough love to go around. Sami cries – what is Allie going to do without him (Lucas) – what is she going to do without him. EJ comforts her.
EJ tells Sami she’s the strongest woman he knows – she’s going to get through this. Allie is not going to know what she is missing because Sami is going to be parent enough for both her and Lucas. Allie has all of Sami’s best and worst qualities. She’s brave, she’s fearless, she’s strong. She does need anyone to protect her. As for love Sami is going to give her more love and happiness than she’s ever known. And if everything goes to hell in a hand basket and she has no other options, she can give him a call, he’ll be there. She’s going to be fine. Sami didn’t think it possible but EJ said the right thing. Her cell rings. It’s Lucas. His sentence hearing was today – she has to go.
Max & group: Max is jogging in the park when he sees Chelsea. She suggests they go for a walk. She leads him to the gazebo that is decorated with balloons and a Happy Birthday Max banner. Nick and Stephanie are there. They have a snowball fight – make toasts with their hot chocolate. Stephanie gives Max a stuffed toy – a horse. Every knight in shining armour needs one. After the other two leave Stephanie has another gift for Max. She kisses him.
Ireland: Downstairs, Kayla makes a quick call to Lexie. She hasn’t told Steve she’s pregnant yet – she’s going to wait until they’re at home. She’ll plan a romantic evening and surprise him. She’s thrilled at the news. Outside Bo and Steve are out for a walk. They talk about Bo’s call from Lexie. Lexie doesn’t know what’s wrong. Steve doesn’t think she would send them all the way there to tell him if she didn’t have cause for concern. Bo says let’s just be positive – no writing me eulogy yet. He almost passes out – Steve catches him. In Colleen’s room John sits in a chair flicking a lighter. Marlena tells him to stop – it’s distracting. That’s what John needs – he’s bored. Pop Shawn, Belle and Shawn come into the room. Marlena tells them she found a letter from Colleen – it’s addressed to the Brady family. She’s written down the arrangements she would like to have followed after her death. Marlena passes the letter to Pop Shawn – she’s sure they’ll be able to follow the specifics in the letter. John grouses – the woman is dead and she’ll never know the difference. Marlena reminds him that Colleen is his mother. He didn’t know her – he spent more time bonding with the taxi driver on the way here from the airport. Give him the letter. He’ll burn it and then they can go home.
Kayla tells Lexie that they’re planning to take a flight back today and they’ll come straight to the hospital when they land. Lexie tells her to have a safe flight home. Hope comes down and tells Kayla that she has the feeling that her, Steve and Bo are keeping something from her. Steve tends to Bo – Bo says he’s fine. It’s just stress. He keeps thinking about Hope and what she’s going to go through. Steve says maybe you should tell her. Bo says we’ve been through this – no. They’ll just pretend everything is okay and have a good flight home – can Steve do that. He can. John hopes that dear old mom had the sense to keep things short and sweet. Belle tells him to be a little more sensitive. She was family even if they didn’t know her well. Grandpa Shawn can tell him a lot of stories about her. John isn’t interested. Pop Shawn understands. Marlena doesn’t – this isn’t the John she knows and loves. John responds – how many times do I have to tell you I’m not that man anymore. Belle tells Marlena to not let John get to here – when he gets home in familiar surroundings maybe he’ll remember more. Marlena hopes so. Right now they need to attend to the details of the service. Colleen’s ashes should be arriving shortly. Cremation isn’t the traditional Irish way, but it’s Colleen’s way. They will follow her wishes to the letter. The guys leave – the women stay to pack up Colleen’s things.
Kayla looks at a menu as Hope talks – she got the distinct feeling that she had walked in on a secret meeting between the three of them because they all went quiet when she returned. Kayla asks if she is grilling her, is this a cop thing. Hope doesn’t need to be a cop to recognise when she’s avoiding eye contact. Kayla insists she is just hungry. Hope asks her to talk to her just as Steve and Bo return. Bo tells Hope they were out looking for a lucky shamrock. Shawn comes down and tells them they’ll be outside in about a half hour – Aunt Colleen left instructions for a memorial service. Kayla says poor Pop, losing his sister twice. Bo says this time he has his family with him including a new nephew in John. Shawn doesn’t know how comforting John is going to be when he’s still kind of different. Hopefully it won’t be long before the old John is back. Belle and Marlena are having a hard time with this new attitude of his. Bo is saying the new attitude is a pain in the … as John comes in from outside. Everyone stares including Philip and Chloe who are in the background. John snarls – what the hell are you guys looking at.
They’re all outside now. Marlena arrives with the urn. She asks if someone would like to say a few words – Shawn. Pop Shawn is sorry – he doesn’t think he can manage. Kayla comforts him – it’s okay. His sister knew that he loved her. Marlena asks John – he says no thanks. Marlena thinks Colleen would have liked it if there were a few words from her only child. John will pass. Marlena says alright – she thinks it would be appropriate if he’s the one that holds the remains. He wants to know why she’s pressuring him. Marlena answers – she is his mother. She doesn’t think it’s too much to ask that he show her some respect. John growls – if it will get her off his back he’d be honoured to hold that damn can of dust. He takes the urn – now what. Bo says now I’ll say a few words and then we’ll scatter her ashes as she requested. John says fantastic – let’s get on with it.
Bo’s eulogy: None of us here really knew Colleen Brady except of course for Pop. We did get a glimpse of her life when we read the letters that she and Santo DiMera wrote to each other. We saw a feisty, intelligent, passionate woman who loved her family, her church and she loved Santo DiMera. They had a powerful connection. A kind of connection that surpasses time, place and even death. Good, bad, right or wrong they loved each other. They had a very strong, deep love and it was sad that they couldn’t find happiness in this lifetime. So we just have to pray that they find it in the next. A love like that is rare so if you’re ever lucky enough to find it, you got to hang on to it, never let it go. And never take it for granted because sometimes life can throw a curve ball at you and suddenly you’re going to have to face the world alone. But what we got to know is that love can overcome any obstacles no matter how insurmountable it may seem. In the end, true love survives above all.
A very nice segment follows where each person takes a handful of Colleen’s ashes and scatters them. As this is happening we get a series of Santo and Colleen flashbacks – very effective. Well done! John is the last to do this – everyone else leaves and John is alone. He blows some of the ashes out of his hand. Back inside the pub, Pop Shawn tells Bo that he said some very nice words. Marlena announces that she just spoke to John’s pilot and the plane will be ready to fly in two hours. Philip thanks John for letting them all come with him. John says don’t thank me, it wasn’t my idea. Hope goes to make tea. Kayla is going to go up and pack for Pop Shawn. Belle thinks Claire is ready to go home. Philip takes Claire – Chloe goes upstairs to get her stuff ready. Shawn tells Belle for the first time in his life he’s glad his dad is biologically a Kiriakis otherwise they would be related – her grandmother’s a Brady. Belle says actually that makes me more of a Brady than you. She takes his hand – when they get home … He tells her they’ll figure it out then. Marlena tells them she packed some snacks for Claire to take on the plane. She looks around – where did John go.
Kayla is looking around for her cell phone – it’s the third one she’s lost this year. She goes in the back too look. Steve sees a woman watching him through the window. He goes after her. Back where they had the memorial service John touches some shrubbery and in the clearing he sees Santo and Colleen walking towards each other. Santo holds out his hands and Colleen takes them. It then cuts to Sami rushing down the stairs in a panic. EJ offers to help her with her coat. They come face to face and stare into each other eyes as the picture fades to Santo and Colleen in the same pose. John watches as Santo and Colleen kiss each other.
Preview: Philip to Chloe – What happens when he does come back? Do you see divorce in the future? Tony to Anna – You do have a tendency to over-dramatize. Anna – You haven’t seen anything yet. Lucas to Sami – I don’t expect you to wait for me. I just want you to promise that you’ll always love me.

Monday Feb 11
Jail – visiting room: Lucas didn’t think Sami would come. She had to see him. She can’t believe he didn’t tell her about the sentencing hearing. He didn’t want her and the kids to worry. He got 8-10 years. He asks where Allie is. Sami explains that Allie is still sick and she promises to take her to a doctor if she doesn’t get better soon. He asks about Johnny. He would have liked to see him too but he didn’t think that EJ would want that. Sami knows how much he wanted to be with those kids – it must be devastating facing all the time he’s going to miss with them. He says it’s his fault. He shot her husband and now he has to pay for it. Sami wants to know why he did this. He answers – because of you. Sami insists she had everything under control – Lucas didn’t have to shoot EJ. Lucas knows – he didn’t trust her – it’s his fault. He screwed up. They rehash the reasons why she did what she did – what he did made it worse. Lucas was worried about her – EJ’s not a really nice guy. Sami doesn’t say anything so he has to prompt her to agree with him – she does. She doesn’t understand why he confessed. It’s like he wanted to be separated from them. Lucas reminds her that she told him she hated him. He couldn’t live with that. Every time she tells him something like that he does something stupid to win her back which backfires and pushes her further away. This was his only option – to stay away from her so he can’t do something stupid to win her back. It’s all because he can’t stop loving her. He always has and always will.
He’s trying to do the noble thing. He wants to be someone that Allie and Will can be proud of. He’s taking responsibility for what he did and he’s paying dearly but it’s because he loves her. She loves him – she never stopped and never will. Her cell rings. It’s Marlena. Marlena tells her they’re on the way home. She wanted to tell her what happened. Colleen died shortly after they arrived but there was such a sense of peace about it. Sami wants to know what she’s talking about. Marlena tells her when she died they had a small service and scattered her ashes and she had this strange sense that somehow Colleen and Santo reunited. Sami wonders if that’s a good thing. Were they the reason the vendetta started in the first place? Marlena answers that love denied is never right but maybe after death its okay. It was so beautiful – she wishes Sami was there. She says they’re about to take off – she’ll see her soon.
Lucas tells Sami she doesn’t know what it means to him to hear her say that she still loves him and always will. Knowing that will make it bearable. He’s going to work his tail off for an early release. From what he understands, because he confessed and didn’t ask for a deal he’s considered a model inmate. If the jails get over-crowded he’ll be the first to go. Sami just can’t picture him in prison with a hatchet-murderer for a cell-mate. He tells her that won’t happen – he’s going to a minimum security prison. He can take care of himself – he’ll be fine, he’ll be safe. She’ll worry about him every day and every night. He knows it will be hard for her. He doesn’t expect her to wait for him but he wants her to promise that she’ll always love him. Sami tells him she loves him. He’s a part of her and no one can ever take that away from her. They’ve been through a lot together. He’s forgiven her for every single stupid thing she’s done in her life. It’s her turn now. No matter how angry she got at him she never stopped loving him and she never will. Lucas tells her that knowing she loves him will make it easier. He’ll be fine. Sami cries – it’s what she does best these days. Lucas says maybe it’s time to trust. She thinks they both need to learn that lesson. Lucas tells her the situation is what it is. He made a stupid mistake and now he’s paying for it. It would stupid for him to try and hold on to her from behind bars. He wants her to live her life. They hug. She cries and then kisses him. Lucas wants her to tell him one thing. Promise him that she won’t trust EJ. Be really careful around him. Don’t be near him anymore than she has to. Sami stares.
The guard tells Lucas it’s time to go. Lucas has something for Allie. He made her a DVD with a bunch of messages for her to watch on her birthday. There are about 10 of them – hopefully she’ll only have to use only 8 of them. Sami holds him and cries. He would made Sami a DVD but he didn’t have time. He would have put thousands of messages on it like I love you and you look beautiful today. He tells her that she is everything to him. She is the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen and he knows she is going to get more beautiful each day. He promises that he’ll always love her. He’ll love her more and more with all his heart. They kiss. He reminds her not to trust EJ. She says okay. The guard takes her out. They each place their hand on the glass and then Sami leaves.
Safe house: Very cute scenes between EJ and the twins and then Tony and EJ and then Anna and Tony. EJ is trying to quiet down both twins. He tries making deals with them – LOL! One stops crying so he focuses on the other one and then the one he isn’t paying attention to starts crying again. Tony comes over and makes a comment about the fact that one of the babies threw up on EJ’s sweater. EJ doesn’t mind. Lots of banter exchanged as Tony makes it clear that fatherhood is not for him. Anna comes with gifts and helps EJ. Once they’re both quiet – they put them down for a nap. Anna asks where Sami is. EJ tells her that she’s gone to say goodbye to Lucas. It’s kind of awkward because Sami still loves Lucas. Tony tells EJ not to worry – once Lucas is gone Sami will forget all about him. That gets Anna riled up. Tony tells her she has a tendency to be over-dramatic. She tells him he hasn’t seen anything yet and storms out. EJ takes it all in with an amused grin.
John’s plane-airport: Pop Shawn, Bo and Hope board first. Pop hates leaving Colleen. Hope says she’ll always be with him. Bo says he’s glad they got the chance to be with her in the end. Bo is in pain – he covers it by saying he’s going to check his messages. Shawn, Belle and Claire board next. Claire wants to sit by the window. Chloe and Philip follow. Chloe really thought they’d find her husband this trip. Philip says just because Brady wasn’t with Colleen doesn’t mean they won’t find him. Chloe doesn’t want to talk about it. Kayla and Steve are the next to board. Kayla heads to the restroom. Hope thanks Steve for helping out with Claire when they were dealing with Colleen. Steve looks out the window and sees the mystery woman. He takes off. John and Marlena board. John calls the pilot and tells him to get the bird in the air.
Kayla tells them to hold on – Steve got off the plane. John says the tower is delaying them – the plane needs to be de-iced. Bo and Hope go and sit with Pop Shawn. Kayla goes after Steve. Marlena asks John if he’s okay – he’s been through an emotional hell-storm. He’s fine. She says he seems sad. John doesn’t do sad. Marlena says everyone does sad. His mother just died – a woman he was sent to kill. He didn’t kill her but she died anyway. Marlena says she died peacefully. There’s no blood on his hands. She thinks he’d be feeling something. He feels that it’s over. She died peacefully and he didn’t have to hurt his own Mom so it’s win, win all the way around. Why should he feel sad? She replies; because he was her mother and he didn’t know her and she just loved him and because now she’s gone. She asks why he stayed behind on the mountaintop. He thought he saw Colleen Brady and Santo DiMera. It was probably a hallucination – he doesn’t want to talk about it. Marlena goes to check on Pop Shawn.
The mystery woman gets away. Kayla catches up to Steve – what’s going on? Marlena is now with Pop Shawn, Bo and Hope. She can’t shake the feeling that Colleen and Santo’s love story had a happy ending after all. She tells them that John saw something but he thinks he was hallucinating – she thinks it was real. John insists that all he saw was green, green, more green. Marlena says Santo and Colleen spent their lives dreaming about each other. He never smiled after he lost her and her moments of joy were very few and far between. (John is on the phone to the cockpit but he’s listening to what Marlena is saying). After they had scattered her ashes she had a sense that somehow they’d found peace. Pop says that is a wonderful thing to say. Marlena says it’s also true. John tells them they’re cleared for take-off. Steve tells Kayla he’s sorry. They have to get back to the plane before it takes off without them. She wants to talk about this.
Steve and Kayla come back on board. John tells the pilot to close the hatch. Bo and Hope and Kayla want to know why Steve took off like that. He tells them he left his phone in the terminal. Kayla is sceptical. Steve insists that he forgot his phone – that’s all. John tells Marlena that the pilot anticipates a smooth flight. The mystery woman comes out of the terminal after the plane has taken off. Kayla tries to get Steve to talk but he answers angrily that he forgot his phone. She knows that there is something else bothering him. Hope looks at Bo and asks if he is okay. He has to tell her something. There’s something important he hasn’t told her. He doesn’t know exactly what it is. He doesn’t have all the facts yet and until he does he can’t be specific with her. Hope presses. Bo tells her that Kay didn’t go to Ireland just to bring Pop. Hope asks if something bad happened back home. Bo says no. Hope wants him to tell her everything. He doesn’t know much at all. She’s going to have to trust him on this. As soon as the time is right she’ll know everything, he promises. Hope tells him he’s asking a lot. Is he not telling her because he doesn’t trust her. Bo says no. He doesn’t have all the details yet. He just wanted her to know that something is going on and he’s taking care of it. He’d like her to let it go at that. Hope says it sounds serious – she can’t let it go. He tells her she’s going to have to. Hope says we’re partners. Whatever it is he has to be honest with her. Bo agrees that marriage is about honesty. It’s also about trust. Let him take care of this. Hope will have to think about this – if he thinks its best that she not know what this is about she’ll take that into consideration. But if she does decide that she does need to know he has to promise that he’ll tell her.
Bo offers to get some snacks. Hope knows he’s trying to change the subject. She hasn’t felt like eating for days. Bo is a little worried about her. She’s not eating, she hasn’t slept. Hope will sleep when they get home and once she has some of his mom’s chowder, she’ll be fine.. Hope says whatever this secret is she’ll drop it for now because she’s tired. Philip tells Chloe that if anyone can find Brady it’s his father. Chloe points out that he started the sentence with an ‘if’. Philip says it’s only a matter of time until my father finds Brady – is that better. Chloe knows he’s only trying to make her feel better. It’s not going to work – it won’t stop her from worrying. Philip wonders what will happen after Brady is found. She told him that she and Brady argued a lot. Is there a divorce in her future? Chloe doesn’t know – she reaches for Philip’s hand. Kayla keeps pressuring Steve – what’s bothering him. He says maybe almost missing the plane is what put him in a bad mood – he suggests that they check on Pop. Kayla asks her Dad if he’s going to be going okay. Pop says all those years I thought she was dead. Steve thinks it was the last couple of days that really mattered. You were there for her when she passed. It was almost like when she saw you she could finally let go.
Everyone is chatting and snacking when there’s a loud bang and the plane bounces up and down. They check on each other. John sips his drink and says ‘oh, oh.’
Preview: Chelsea to Victor and Caroline – So how did you guys end up having my Dad? Bo to Marlena – There’s something I have to talk to Hope about. It’s not good news. Marlena – What is it Bo? Maybe I can help. Pilot to John – We’ll do our best to keep your family safe.

Tuesday Feb 12
John’s plane: Belle and Shawn reassure Claire that they didn’t hit anything. Bo assures Hope it was just turbulence. Kayla and Steve check if Pop Shawn is okay. He is – he had his seatbelt on. Chloe freaks out and snaps at Philip when he tries to reassure her that it’s okay. Marlena wonders if John should talk to the pilots. He tells her converging air masses especially if one is a jet stream - it’s a recipe for turbulence. Marlena comments that his memory comes and goes – he can remember that but not her. John wonders why he would even know about converging air masses. Marlena tells him it’s because he’s a pilot. The plane rocks again. The pilot tells the co-pilot to get permission to descend to 31,000 feet. The co-pilot says the controls are pretty mushy. John enters – the passengers are a nervous lot – any chance they can go under this. The pilot doesn’t think weather is the problem. John asks if he is insinuating that there is a problem with his aircraft.
Philip wonders if it’s the flight or Brady that is bothering her. It’s both. Philip thinks flight-wise – they’re in good hands. He heard that John and the pilot’s have been flying together for five years. He’s also worried about Brady but something tells him he’s alive and okay. Belle smiles and tells Claire that her Dad said it would get smooth and it did – her Dad can do anything. Claire thanks Shawn. Shawn looks scared. Steve tells Pop to rest his eyes for a while – he does. Kayla thinks this is a strange flight already. Steve ran off the plane and than gave some lame excuse, then the turbulence earlier – she’s worried sick. Steve takes her hand and says he’s sorry. Marlena sits next to Bo – she tells Bo and Hope that John is in with the pilot suggesting they plot a course away from the turbulence. Marlena and Hope both admit they’re nervous even though they think it’s going to be okay. Bo says stress isn’t good for anyone – just relax. Hope thinks he looks tense – is his back still bothering him. Bo tells Marlena that they were wrestling with that nasty old mattress at the B&B. Hope says when they get home they’re going to get a massage. Bo tells Hope he’ll give her a massage. Marlena thinks Bo should get a doctor to give him his massage – he looks kind of pale. Bo says it’s just stress. Hope goes to talk to Shawn, Belle and Claire. Marlena asks Bo what he’s stressed about. He has something he has to tell Hope and he doesn’t know exactly how to do it – it’s not good news. Marlena offers to help. Right now he needs to sort some things out. He and Hope have a bumpy road ahead. He tells Marlena they’ll need her expertise soon enough but right now he’d prefer to keep it to himself. Hope tells Claire she’s so incredibly brave. Belle comments that her mom and Bo seem to be in a deep discussion. Hope goes to Steve and Kayla – enough with the secrets. Marlena tells Bo that John has been gone quite a while just to tell the pilot to change course. Bo was thinking the same thing. The pilot tells John he’s not sure if there’s something wrong with the plane or not. The instruments are not working up to par. Everything is working for now but this bus is getting harder and harder to fly. John is sure they will do their best – he has his family back there. (He looks surprised that he even thought of them).
Chloe wants to know why Philip’s so sure Brady is alright. He says for the same reason that he doesn’t believe at least at this point she had anything to do with Brady’s disappearance. What matters is getting Brady back safe and sound and if he has to go to Austria and kick some butt, he will. Belle and Shawn assure Claire that there may be a little bounce now and again but the plane is really strong. John wants to know exactly what kind of situation they’re facing. The pilot says they are holding steady but it feels like he’s wrestling with a bucket of pudding. John wonders why the controls aren’t responding. The pilot doesn’t know – they’ll do their best to keep his family safe. Hope tells Steve and Kayla that Bo is worried sick about something and she needs to know what it is. Steve asks her what Bo told her. Hope says he told me to trust him. Kayla says that’s good advice because everything is going to be alright. Hope leaves. Steve asks Kayla why she said that when she knows it might not be okay. Kayla answers because she hopes it will be.
John is in the pilot’s seat now – they’re right – minimal response. They need to take it down. The co-pilot says he contacted ATC – they have clearance to land at Reykjavik, Iceland but they’re pretty far out. John says they’ll have to keep it straight and level – be damned if he’s going swimming in the North Atlantic in February. John tells the co-pilot to radio that they’re coming in. He tries – no response. John says no radio – that’s just perfect. Hope rejoins Marlena and Bo – why do they look so worried. Bo says John is having quite the powwow with the pilots – a long one – too long. Chloe wants to know how many times Philip’s been in love. He says probably as many times as she has. She says she loved Brady - loves Brady. Philip loved Belle. She says we were together for awhile – so how many times has he been in love. His answer is the same – probably as many times as she has. Shawn talks about how much Claire looks like her mother – it’s a beautiful thing.
John realises that Doc was right about him being a pilot when the co-pilot uses an acronym and he knows what it stands for. The pilot gives an order to squawk 7600 on the transponder. The co-pilot asks if he only wants to squawk the no radio code – what about the emergency code. The pilot says no emergency yet. John comments that all the controls are electronic, right. He’s going to try something. He tells the pilot to take over. John is looking for something to communicate with – hopefully it won’t be a smoke signal. John asks Marlena for her cell phone. She asks why. He says because he doesn’t have one. Hope tells him he can’t use a cell phone in flight. He says it’s his jet, he can do anything he wants. Bo asks if it won’t interfere with the radios. John sincerely doubts that. He takes the cell phone back into the cockpit – no signal. The pilots aren’t surprised – they’re a long way from the coast. John says he will rouse suspicions by asking if anyone has a signal.
Pop says Caroline’s name. Kayla says she’s not here. They’ll be home in a few hours – he’ll see her then. John comes out of the cabin and asks if anyone is receiving a signal on their cell phone. Chloe demands to know what is wrong. John says they’re having a little trouble with the radio. It’s no big deal – they just can’t contact air traffic control. The plane is fine. Everyone checks their phones – no signal. John makes light of it – they’re too far from the mainland – he guesses they haven’t installed relay transmitters in the middle of the Atlantic. Marlena tells him it’s getting cold in here. John will make sure they turn up the heat. The co-pilot chooses this moment to tell John that they’re losing cabin pressure. Chloe yells – are we going to crash. John says no – the worst thing that is going to happen is that it’s going to get a little cold in here. He suggests they put on their coats. Bo tells Hope not to worry. She isn’t – she has him. Philip offers to get blankets. The pilot tells John that there may be a small breach in the fuselage. The co-pilot says it may have been wishful thinking that it was turbulence that dropped them so violently before. John tells them to throttle down and descend to a lower altitude. The pilot says if the electronics are down that would explain the lack of controls. John takes over for the co-pilot and then takes control of the plane. John says this is really going to put a crimp in my cocktail hour.
Chloe asks Philip how long before they get there. He says at least three hours but he guesses they’ll be landing at the closest available runway. Hope asks Bo how he is. Chilly but he’ll take any excuse to cuddle. Hope says the cold is a bad sign, isn’t it. Bo answers – yes, it is. Hope says there is something terribly wrong with this plane. Bo says yes but they’ve got good men up front – they’ll get them to an airport. Steve tells Kayla he’s going to see what’s going on. He goes into the cockpit. John is checking the fuses again. The pilot says whatever happened knocked out the electronics to both the radios and the controls. The co-pilot says at least we still have the gauges – at that moment they lose them. John comments - you just had to say that. John suggests cutting fuel to one of the engines. The co-pilot says that’s a good idea – they’ll get the plane into a descent and then turn the fuel back on when they get low enough. The pilot shuts the fuel off number 1 – it doesn’t do much so they shut the fuel off to number 2. No difference. Claire is cold. Shawn and Belle remind of their trip to the beach when it was really warm – just think of the beach. Hope tells Bo she doesn’t think she’s ever seen him look this nervous. Bo says as long as he has her life is good. They kiss. John suggests that they could dump the fuel. Steve says if you dump the fuel, we crash and we’ll die. John shrugs – not all of us. Steve reminds him he has a plane full of family and friends back there. John is thinking about them. Steve says don’t do it. John orders the pilot to dump the fuel. The co-pilot is drinking some bottled water – the pilot wants some of that. John orders him to dump the fuel now. He tries – nothing. John says to Steve – Well, dead-eye why don’t you go back there and give everyone the good news. We’re going to be up here for a while and it’s going to get a hell of a lot colder. Steve goes out and tells everyone we have no radios, no instruments, no controls and we’re losing cabin pressure.
Park:
Victor, Caroline, Chelsea - Caroline and Victor are both taking a walk in the park. They run into each other and Victor talks about the tulip he picked. Caroline sees that there is a soft side to him. He’s always had a soft spot for his family. He adds that the soft side doesn’t equate to weakness when it comes to business. Caroline says he has a very soft spot when it comes to Bo. Victor says he’s a good man. Caroline asks – even if he is a cop. Victor answers maybe he’s a cop because he’s a good man. Caroline knows there is good in Victor – she’s seen it. Victor doesn’t let that show often. Bo is a good man because of the people that raised him. He admires the job that Shawn did with Bo. Caroline agrees that Shawn is a good father but Victor is Bo’s blood, nothing can take that away. Victor asks about Shawn. Caroline tells him he’s on his way home. He found out his sister Colleen is alive. She thought that would make him happy but his last few calls – he sounded very troubled.
Chelsea comes across them – both her grandparents together – she can ask questions – so how did they end up having her dad. Wouldn’t they rather have her hear it from them than someone else. She feels she has a right to know. Caroline says it’s not something they’re proud of – it never should have happened. Chelsea points out that if it hadn’t happened her dad wouldn’t be here. Victor says her grandmother may regret what happened but neither of them regrets the result. Caroline tells Chelsea that she, Victor and Shawn grew up in Salem together. She was in love with Victor. Victor’s mother sent him to Greece to help his father with the shipping line. Caroline grew close to Shawn and they married and had three children. They were struggling – Shawn was always away on business and she resented it. Victor came back – they had a moment’s indiscretion. She never told Shawn because she was afraid he would leave her and she told Victor to go away – it had been a terrible mistake. Victor did as she asked. After he left she discovered she was pregnant. She wrote Victor a letter but never sent it. She never told Shawn that Bo was Victor’s son.
Chelsea wants to know how Bo found out. Caroline said it wasn’t until Bo was an adult. He was a cop working on a case that involved Victor. He was going to shoot Victor – she stopped him by telling him that Victor was his father. (They show flashbacks). Bo was furious with her – Grandpa Shawn was upset. Caroline tells Chelsea that Grandpa Shawn is Bo’s father and always will be and so is Victor. Chelsea wonders why Grandpa Shawn didn’t leave her. Caroline says because he loved me. Victor adds because he was a forgiving and honourable man.
Roman & Kate - Roman hands Kate his handkerchief. Kate is shedding tears over Lucas – she’s upset and angry. Lucas didn’t have to do this. She knows that Roman can do something. He insists he can’t – Lucas confessed and was sentenced. Kate keeps telling him to do something; Roman keeps telling her he can’t. He would do anything for Sami but his hands are tied. Kate starts ranting about EJ – he’s a DiMera – he deserved it. Roman tells Kate that if someone shot him in the back he’d be upset too – not that he’s siding with EJ. He tells her he knows the warden – he’ll give him a call. Kate doesn’t think Lucas can look after himself – prisons are full of gangs and violence. Roman tells her that Lucas is in a minimum security prison – there are white collar criminals in there as well. Kate finally apologises – she was angry and he was there so she took it out on him.
Preview: Max to Stephanie – I’m here for you but I think you’ll be more comfortable when your parents get home. Abe to Sami & EJ – You’re sprung. The coast is clear. Sami – So we don’t have to worry about Stefano any more? Abe – You’ll always have to worry about Stefano. Marlena to John – John, tell us the truth. Can we make it?

Wednesday Feb 13
John’s plane: After Steve gives them the report about the condition of the plane everyone starts asking questions at once. He can only answer one question at a time. Marlena asks if John is able to fly the plane. Steve informs them that John is in the co-pilot’s seat and he seems to remember a lot about flying. He’s got two good pilots with him – they’re doing everything they can to bring them in safely. Bo asks without controls can they land. Steve informs them that they’re flying straight and level right now – they think that’s the best way to handle things. Belle wants to know what’s wrong with the plane. Steve says some kind of electronic problem. Philip asks what he can do to help. Steve tells him to pull out every blanket he can find – it’s going to get a hell of lot colder in here. John comes out. Marlena wants the truth – can they make it? Belle takes Claire for a snack before John answers. Hope asks John to tell them what is going on. He answers that all instrumentation has systemically failed on the aircraft. As they can tell from the cold air – they’re losing cabin pressure. Marlena asks if they’re going to crash. John says not on my watch.
Steve thinks that’s a lovely sentiment but what do they do. John has absolutely no idea – he’s working on it. They tried to descend safely to a warmer level but the controls were unresponsive. They tried to dump fuel which would have taken them down faster and harder and in a more dangerous fashion – didn’t work. So here they are flying at a constant altitude unable to go up or down, left or right and losing more and more cabin pressure by the minute. He doesn’t know how this happened, why it happened or how to fix any of it but still he’s optimistic. Philip asks how can he be optimistic after everything he just told them. John responds maybe that’s the way I was programmed. Don’t worry, he’ll think of something. Bo asks how long they can stay in the air. John can keep it in the air for two and a half hours. Keep in mind that they can’t change course or land. How long they can keep themselves from freezing to death is a whole other question. Philip asks what their altitude is. 32,000 ft. Bo says there isn’t a hell of a lot of oxygen at this altitude. John says no.
Steve asks John how long he thinks the air in here is going to last them. John tells them there’s a breach in the fuselage. The air in here is leaking out but he can’t estimate at what rate. Kayla asks how far down they have to go to breathe air. John says that’s a good question – 10,000 feet. Bo asks why they don’t just shut off the engines until they get down to that level. Steve says they tried that – it’s all tied into the electronics. John says everything is tied into the electronics except the fuel tank. Philip says then shut off the fuel. John tried it – didn’t work. Philip says but the fuel tank isn’t tied into the electronics. John says no and therein lies the mystery. John goes back into the cabin. Marlena tells everyone to get bundled up to prevent hypothermia. Inside the cabin John finds the pilots passed out and says hell of a time for a siesta boys.
Steve asks Kayla if she is thinking about Stephanie. She was – so is he. Kayla says if something happens to them … Steve tells her that they are going to walk away from this. John comes out and says hey blondie, can I see you for a second to Marlena. She asks what is it. John says let’s take it up front. They go into the cabin and Marlena sees the two pilots passed out on the floor. She asks how long they’ve been like this. Not long. She checks them – their pulses are very slow. John asks if it’s from the cold. She says no. He asks – lack of oxygen. She says no, they’re breathing normally. She asks him if they were coherent and making sense the last time he seen them. Were they slurring their words. No they were fine. Marlena goes out. John gets back in the pilots seat and tries the control – no difference. Marlena returns with her medical bag – no one saw her bring it in. Marlena does an examination – she asks if they had a drink. John says water. She finds the water bottle – there’s residue in the bottle. It looks like they were drugged. John asks if it’s poison. She says no, she doesn’t think so. She has no idea what it is and how long they’ll be out. Good thing he’s sitting in that chair because he’s going to have to be the one to land the plane for them.
Marlena thinks from the pilot’s symptoms that they ingested some kind of narcotic. She doesn’t know what it is but she thinks it was a lot. She could try and guess what it was and give them something to counteract the effects but if she guesses wrong, they’re dead. John is sick of this talk of dying. He wants to get his butt on the ground in one piece and she and her friends back there are going to help him. Marlena gave the pilots something to stabilize them but they are unresponsive. They’re okay, they have John. John says to be blunt he has no idea of what his next step is. She tells him it’s okay to be scared. He’ll do fine – he’s never let her down. John says she’s talking about that other guy. She says inside him beats the heart of a hero. She doesn’t understand who did this or why. They drugged the pilots, they tampered with the equipment, they damaged the fuselage. John shrugs – someone doesn’t like them very much. They’re still flying … as long as they … he stops and starts making motions with his fingers. He’s doing math. They have 2 hrs and 10 mins of flying time and he thinks he figured out a way to put this pretty baby on the ground without landing face first. They may have just enough oxygen to do it.
Bo asks Hope if she’s okay – he wants to check on Pop. She is. Bo asks Steve and Kayla how he’s doing. Pop says why don’t you ask me. Bo thought he was sleeping. He was just resting his eyes. Bo makes a joke about ogling all those Irish lasses. Claire is sleeping – Shawn and Belle hope she’s dreaming of some place warm. Philip comments that Chloe is shivering pretty badly. It’s a combination of nerves and cold. Marlena comes out with an update. John thinks he may have figured out a way to put the plane down safely. Chloe asks – on water or dry land. Dry land. Steve asks if the pilots agree with him. Marlena says the thing is right now John is the only pilot. The others were drugged. They think it was the same people that sabotaged the airplane. This was no accident.
Bo says they knocked out the radios, the controls and the instruments and now they’ve knocked out the pilots. Marlena says that’s about the size of it. John is trying to figure out how to land the plane safely. He’s figuring out how much fuel they have so he knows how much time they have before the plane goes down. Hope asks if John can land the plane. Marlena says right now he’s the only chance they’ve got. Philip has no flying experience but if he can help he will. Marlena says he’ll ask for help if he needs it. They do have one small hurdle though – oxygen. The plane will be completely decompressed. They do have the oxygen masks – she releases them. John will let them know when they need to use them. John comes out. Marlena asks if he figured out a way to land the plane. No sense beating around the bush – no. As far as he can tell they’re going to be up there until they run out of fuel. Chloe says and then what. John replies – we join Colleen and Santo in the sweet hereafter.
Safe house: Sami returns from the jail – she’s very down. EJ talks about the visit from Tony and Anna. Sami doesn’t respond. EJ asks if she wants to talk about what happened with Lucas. She doesn’t. He thinks she would feel better if she did talk about it. She gives a condensed version of what happened ending with now she won’t see him for years except through a pane of glass. Sami thinks based on how EJ feels about Lucas he must be overjoyed that Lucas is going to prison. EJ hates to see her upset – that makes him truly unhappy. Sami says Lucas was her life, Will’s life and he was meant to be Allie’s life. EJ points out that Lucas is the one that threw that out the window. She knows that but it doesn’t make it easier to see the pain in his eyes. EJ asks if she still loves Lucas. She does.
Sami is bored – she wants out of the safe house. EJ suggests playing some board games or cards. They banter. They’re about to play gin rummy when Abe arrives. They’re sprung. The coast is clear. Sami says so we don’t have to worry about Stefano anymore. Abe thinks they’ll always have to worry about Stefano. He doesn’t trust him even though he’s in a coma and locked up in a psychiatric hospital. Sami thanks him. Abe likes to see her happy especially with everything happening with Lucas. He leaves. Sami and EJ decide to start packing up the baby stuff. As they’re packing baby clothing they accidentally touch hands. Sami decides to pack something else. EJ asks if it’s something he said, no … something he touched … did he touch a nerve? Sami just wants to get out of there. She wants to go home – she misses her family. Isn’t he happy to be going home? He is but he’d be lying if he said a part of him hasn’t enjoyed the arrangement. It’s been really nice having his son under the same roof. Sami says he can come over and see him whenever he wants as long as he calls first. EJ would also like to spend some time Allie.
Sami can understand him wanting to spend time with her but she doesn’t want him bonding with her too much. EJ says he’s sorry but Lucas isn’t here to read her a bedtime story at night and tuck her or pick her up from pre-school. He chose the path he’s on and he’s not able to be there for his daughter. Sami tells EJ that the things he’s describing are a parent’s responsibility. He isn’t Allie’s parent. EJ knows but Allie needs a male figure in her life and Lucas isn’t here. That is why he’s asking her. Sami says he’s been great with Allie and she really likes him. EJ smiles – is that a yes. Sami says yeah. EJ tries to hug her – Sami moves away quickly. Sami makes busy as EJ apologises for trying to hug her. Sami says it’s no big deal. He asks her what’s bothering her then – he tries to guess but can’t. Sami does have something she wants to tell him.
Her mom and John went to Ireland and they found Colleen and had a chance to talk to her before she died. Her mom is not one who’s given to flights of fancy but she thinks that Colleen and Santo were reunited in death. EJ thinks that is nice. Sami knocks over her purse. EJ spots the DVD. Sami tells him that Lucas made it for Allie. Sami is now with Allie – they sit down and watch the DVD. Lucas talks to Allie and tells her how much he misses her. At the end he says he loves her and her mother and he always will. Sami cries and says to Allie - we love him so much. EJ asks Sami if she is going to be okay. He’s torn – his distaste for Lucas is no secret as is Lucas’s distaste for him but he hates to see her in so much pain. She’ll be alright. He knows she will be – he knows her. In the short amount of time they’ve spent here he feels he partially understands her – he doesn’t think anyone could fully understand her. He knows she may not want to hear this but his feelings for her have grown in the time they’ve been spent here. She’s sorry about his feelings but she appreciates that he’s been a gentleman during their time here. He tells her he’ll always be a gentleman with her. Sami thinks they have everything packed. EJ says almost – we have two small babies to take with them. He’s a little disappointed to be leaving here. This is the only time he’s ever experienced what it’s like to be part of a real family. Sami says he still has Johnny. EJ says a family is more than a father and son. Sami tells him he’ll have that family some day.
Stephanie & Max: Max and Stephanie return to her room in the sorority house. Cute scenes – they kiss but Max holds back – she’s not ready. They talk about that. Max wants to take it slow – they end up joking around but she tenses up when he touches her. She hopes they can start kissing again soon – so does he.
Preview: Kayla to Marlena – I should have told Steve. Marlena – Told him what? Kayla – That I’m pregnant. Abe to Lexie – (???- couldn’t understand what he said) they’re on their way back here. Lexie – I hope it’s not too late (Chelsea & Stephanie enter). Chelsea – Too late for what? Kayla – Mine doesn’t work. Philip – Mine doesn’t either. Bo – Mine’s not working. John – Then we’re all not going to make it.
********************************************
Thursday Feb 14
Police Station - office: Lexie comes to see Abe in his office – has he heard from Bo and Hope. Bo called last night – Colleen is no longer alive. Lexie says it’s like she held on until she could make things right and then she died surrounded by family. Abe hopes that with Stefano in a catatonic state this means the end of the Brady / DiMera feud. Lexie has been trying to get hold of Bo, Hope and Kayla on their cell phones but she can’t get through. Abe tells her there’s probably no signal over the North Atlantic. She asks if he can call Air Traffic Control and get an ETA. He can. He knows her – she’s worried about something. What is she not telling him? (Insert flashback).
Lexie has now filled Abe in on the problem with Bo. As far as she knows Hope doesn’t even know about it yet. With everything going on with Colleen he never had the chance to tell her. Abe says so Hope doesn’t know that this could be fatal. He’s thankful they’re on their way back. Lexie hopes it’s not too late. Stephanie and Chelsea walk in – Chelsea asks – too late for what? Abe asks what they’re doing here. Chelsea got a call from her Dad saying they were leaving Ireland today but when she tried to call back and find out what time they’d be back she didn’t get an answer. Stephanie can’t get hold of her parents either. Abe says it’s probably because they’re in the air. Chelsea says they just came to see if they knew what time they were getting in. Abe says no. Lexie tells them Abe is calling ATC to see if can get an estimated time of arrival. Chelsea comments that Lexie looks worried – is there something she’s not telling them. Lexie says no. Abe gets off the phone. They left Ireland a couple of hours ago. The last time the pilot called in everything was fine. They should be in later tonight. Stephanie is excited that everyone is coming home today.
Abe tells the girls that he’s glad this business with Ford Decker has been resolved. The girls are too. Lexie asks Chelsea if she’s heard from her mom. She has – she’s found herself a flat. She’s happy. Abe tells them they don’t have to wait around. He’ll call them as soon as he gets word on John’s ETA. The girls are leaving when the phone rings. He stops them it’s ATC. He informs them that the pilot didn’t check in when he was supposed to and the tracking station hasn’t made radio contact.
John’s plane: Chloe wants to know how John can just calmly tell them they’re all going to die. It’s not what he wants – he’s just trying to be realistic. Philip says there must be something he can do. Probably – it hasn’t hit him yet. He lists all the things that are wrong – do the math. The worst problem is that this jet has to be worth millions and the way things are going it’s going to be a total loss. Marlena says that’s the new John she’s getting to know. He’s trying to help them – she knows he cares. Shawn tells Belle to make sure Claire uses the air mask. Steve says they have to get control of the aircraft. Bo says they have time – they have an hour and a half of oxygen. Steve says didn’t John say they have 2 hours of fuel at their present air speed. John can only address one problem at a time. The air is thinning – he picks up a portable oxygen tank and mask. He instructs them to apply their oxygen masks and breathe slowly, calmly and evenly. Kayla’s, Philip’s and Bo and Hope’s don’t work. John says then we’re all not going to make it. 2 hours of fuel, an hour and a half of oxygen – once again you do the math. A countdown clock starts at 1:30:00
Pop Shawn tells Bo and Hope they can share with him. Steve and Kayla can share – so will Philip and Chloe. Philip says it’s best if they all stay calm. Steve agrees. Bo is going to see if he can find some portable oxygen tanks. He gets up but collapses – he feels dizzy. John repeats that the air is thinning by the minute. Chloe says it’s really freezing in here. John tells them they can convince themselves that sharing is the answer but he’s telling them there’s not enough air to go around for the time they have left. Chloe asks – how do we decide who gets the oxygen. John says that’s up to them – he has his hands full trying to save the jet. Chloe asks if they should draw straws. Shawn asks if they’re just supposed to sit around and watch their loved ones suffocate. Steve says if they don’t get busy and do something none of them are going to make it. He thinks the baby and the women should get the masks. Kayla says no, that’s not the answer. Hope agrees with Kayla. Marlena says they’ll share the masks. Hope feels nauseous. Marlena thinks its air sickness. Hope doesn’t get air sick. Chloe doesn’t feel so good either. Shawn says they’ll share the masks and they have to find a way to fix the plane. They all start sharing. John tells them to do what they want but he’s not sharing. He’s the last person they want passing out. The countdown is at 1:18:43
John asks why everyone is looking at him ‘like that’. Marlena answers – because we realise our lives are in your hands. John says that’s why I need the oxygen. Bo says yeah, we can’t have you passing out. You’re going to pull us through this John. Hope adds – you always have in the past. John says - did he? It seems like he has a reputation to maintain. Marlena says he’s demonstrated that he remembers a lot about flying this plane. John states he’s not a mechanic – he has no idea how to fix the systems. Marlena tells him to try it. Steve was pretty good at hot-wiring cars – he’s willing to give it a shot. Bo will help. He gets up but has to sit down again. Steve tells John that they should get into the cockpit and see what they can do. John tells him to knock himself out – he’s going to check out the tail section for damage. Shawn offers to go with Steve – he says no, stay with your wife and daughter. Kayla says what about oxygen. He’ll use one of the pilot’s masks. He goes back to her and tells her he’s always wanted to fly something bigger than a puddle-jumper. This is his chance. He tells to relax and breathe and he’ll be back. He kisses her and goes into the cockpit. (Insert Kayla flashbacks). Philip tells Chloe they’re going to get through this. Not according to John – she’s freezing cold and she’s scared. Belle hopes Claire keeps sleeping. Shawn hopes she does too. Bo tells Hope he’s feeling better. He passes the mask to Pop Shawn and grimaces in pain. He tells Hope his stomach hurts. He probably shouldn’t have eaten all those pickled eggs. Marlena sits across from Kayla – they will get through this. Kayla prays she’s right – she should have told Steve that she’s pregnant. Inside the cockpit Steve sits in the co-pilot’s seat and puts on an oxygen mask – it doesn’t work. He pulls it off and starts looking around. The countdown is at 1:07:53
Steve gasps for air, tries to get out of his seat but passes out. Kayla tells Marlena she was going to tell Steve when they got home over a nice romantic dinner. Marlena tells her to keep her own mask – she can’t deprive the fetus. Kayla wants to help Steve. Marlena says she can’t endanger the baby. She suggests praying that Steve and John find a way to get the plane under control. Belle says Mom – Marlena tells her to stay calm – they have at least an hour of air left. Belle asks if she’s sure Dad knows what he’s doing. John comes back and sits next to Kayla – he doesn’t know what the hell he’s looking at back there – he chuckles. Shawn wants Belle to take the mask and take care of Claire. Belle says no – they’re sharing. Chloe asks if people won’t realise that something is wrong when they don’t hear from them. Philip says they will but they won’t know why. She asks about back-up systems – if planes have them how come they haven’t cut in. Philip says whoever sabotaged the plane knew what they were doing. Kayla asks John what he is doing. He’s thinking. She tells him to think harder. She’s a doctor and when a patient’s life is in danger she’s thinking as she’s trying to save their life. That’s what he does – he rises to the occasion. Her husband is in the cockpit trying to change their circumstances – John needs to get up and go in there and help him – that is what he did at one time. What John needs is for people to stop telling him what to do and how he should do it. But most of all he doesn’t need to hear about the kind of guy he used to be – okay? He heads to the cockpit where he finds Steve unconscious. He checks for a pulse. Hope passes the mask to Pop Shawn – he says no. They won’t make it – with one less person using the oxygen there will be more to go around. Bo says that’s crazy talk. Pop says it makes perfect sense to him. He’s the oldest person on this plane. He’s lived a long life and he’s made peace with his sister Colleen. And now maybe it’s time for him to make peace with God. Hope says he’s got as much to live for as the rest of them – take the mask and breathe. Bo insists – Pop Shawn takes it. Bo says Pop is right about one thing – with only two sharing the oxygen there’s a much better chance of surviving. There’s something he’s got to tell her. The countdown is at 0:59:57
John checks the oxygen tank – the valve won’t budge. He shares his mask with Steve – breathe or die. Chloe is scared – there’s no change in speed or direction. Philip is going to check – she doesn’t want him to leave her alone. He’ll stay. Shawn feels the same as Philip – he should help. Belle says no – she and Claire need him. Bo tells Hope that he’s very sick. He’s sorry he didn’t tell her before this. Pop asks him what he said. Bo tells him that they think he has cancer. Hope says my god – this is the secret you’ve been keeping from me. He wanted to break the news after he had a definite prognosis but it really doesn’t matter now. Pop asks how long he’s known this. Bo says since Steve and Kay brought him to Ireland. Hope says it can’t be true – Kayla’s wrong. Bo says not according to the tests they’ve run. He did want to tell her but the time was never right. Hope cries – he should have told her the moment he knew. Pop asks – how bad is it? Bo says there’s a possibility that some of them won’t make it back to Salem and even if he does there’s a good chance he’ll die. He wants them to share the mask. Pop says that won’t happen. Bo can out-stubborn both of them – just let him go. It will probably be a lot easier than what he’s facing. Pop won’t let him do it. Take the mask and breathe – damn it. Bo does. Hope says they have almost an hour of air left so they’re going to keep doing what they’ve been doing and they’ll pray that Steve and John get control of the plane back. No arguments – and no more talking from either one of them. Kayla is worried about Steve. Marlena says they’ll be okay. Kayla wonders if John could be programmed to kill them all because he failed his mission. Marlena doesn’t think the programming affects him anymore. Kayla asks – what if it does. What if he doesn’t care if he lives or dies or if any one of them lives or dies. In the cockpit John wonders how long a human being can go without breathing – could be an interesting way of finding out. The countdown is at 0:46:42
John finds a tool kit and tries to loosen the valve on Steve’s oxygen tank. Steve moans. John says relax – I’m working on but I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. Chloe asks Philip how much longer will they have air – he says about 30 minutes. Shawn tells Belle they still have 45 minutes in the air – they won’t have enough oxygen. He’s going to do what he can to help get this plane on the ground safely. Belle won’t let him leave. Chloe wonders considering how ruthless Philip and his father are in business if the people that did this were after him or trying to get to his father by killing Philip. Philip says she could be a target too – anything is possible. Kayla is going to check on Steve. Marlena says no – she’ll do it. Bo is going to go into the cockpit and see what’s going on. Just as he and Marlena get up – the plane goes black and shakes. Bo is knocked unconscious. Inside the cockpit John gets the valve loosened. He puts the mask on Steve. He notices Steve isn’t breathing – don’t tell me I wasted my time on a dead man. He starts giving him CPR. Hope and Shawn get Bo back into his seat. Philip helps Marlena – her tube broke. Kayla tells Philip to go back to his seat – she’ll share her mask with Marlena. Marlena says no. Kayla tells her if they don’t find a way to land this plane they’re going to run out of oxygen and they’ll all die. Marlena takes them mask. Hope tells Shawn she’ll look after Bo. Shawn passes her the mask to use on Bo and herself. She hands it back – Pop says no. He’s not taking it anymore. There’s not enough for all three of them – they have to let him go. The countdown is at 0:36:30
John tells Steve he’s got 60 seconds and then he’s on his own as he keeps giving him CPR. Philip tells Chloe that whoever did this was a pro. Shawn tells Belle that they have to make sure Claire gets oxygen no matter what. They have to start preparing for the worst. Bo comes to – he insists Pop take the mask. Pop says he’s old. Bo says well I’m sick and I’m dying so I win. Hope won’t accept that. Bo didn’t want to accept it at first either but it’s true. Pop says they don’t have time to argue – he won’t let him sacrifice himself. Bo won’t let Pop sacrifice himself either. He tells Hope that the two of them (her and Pop) are going to make it. The countdown is at 0:34:22
Steve starts coming to. When Steve is fully conscious John says he has good news and bad news. The good news is he’s breathing again the bad news is – not much longer. Belle is using the mask – insert flashback. She hands the mask to Shawn and tells him she loves him with all her heart and soul. She’s never loved anyone like she loves him. Chloe can’t believe she’ll never see Brady or her parents again. Philip tells her there’s still a chance she will – just keep believing. Kayla says there’s still a chance they can fix it. She wishes she had told Steve about the baby. Marlena says she will – right now Steve has to be up there helping John. Kayla says you really do have faith, don’t you. She does because John came back to her so she thinks anything can happen. One day she will have an amazing story to tell her child about what happened this day on the plane. Bo tells Hope he’s sick, he dying, it makes sense that she’s the one to live. Pop says that’s nonsense. It’s time for him to go and join his sister. Bo refuses the mask – Hope cries – she can’t let him do this. He says she has to. He says I love you, Fancy Face and then passes out. She puts the mask on his face. Pop says he can’t fight it now – breathing is a reflex. Hope cries. Pop refuses the mask – No, he’s ready. He’ll die happy knowing that he’s saved his son. She has to let him do this for him, please. The countdown is at 0:30:00
Preview: Hope to Kayla – Kay, is what Bo has – is he going to die? Abe to Caroline and Max – The plane just went off radar. Caroline – Dear God. John to Steve – This is it. Steve – Yeah … the plane rocks and rolls – the passengers scream.

Friday Feb 15
Police Station - office: Roman joins Abe, Lexie, Stephanie and Chelsea and finds out that there's a problem with John's plane. They are unable to make radio contact and the the pilots didn't do their course adjustants - they're not going to make their landing co-ordinates. At the speed they're flying they will run out of fuel soon. Max brings Caroline into the office. Everyone worries - tempers flare. Abe and Roman have contacted NORAD, Homeland Security and the ISA. Homeland security doesn't believe the problem is the result of terrorists. NORAD has them on radar and is tracking them. Towards the end of the show Abe gets a call saying the plane has gone off radar - they all pray - they know the plane has crashed.
John's Plane Steve and John discuss what has to be done to get the controls back. John is very nonchalant and Steve gets upset. John assures him that he's going to land the plane (this baby). He wonders who is responsible for this. The passengers are all shivering - they all appear to have working air masks now. Hope tries to get Pop Shawn to put on the mask - she asks him to please not let her be the one to make this choice. Pop assures her it's his choice. Hope asks him to wait until she gets Kayla - she should know what he's doing. He agrees and takes the mask. Kayla tries to talk Pop Shawn out of sacrificing his life. She tells him she's having a baby - she wants the child to know him. Pop tells her that he'll be watching over all of them - standing by his sister's side. He'll miss them all but he'll miss Caroline the most. Now let him go before the devil knows he's gone. He pulls out the tube rendering his oxygen mask useless. Kayla and Hope cry.
Philip tells Chloe not to fall asleep - keep breathing. Belle is so worried about Claire - she's with Marlena now. Marlena tells her she's fine - no talking - conserve oxygen. In the cockpit Steve asks John where the control panel is. John points to it in the ceiling. They need to dump the fuel. Hope checks Pop Shawn for a pulse - she can't believe he's gone. Kayla covers his face with a blanket. Belle says she's having trouble breathing - they must be almost out of oxygen. Hope asks Kayla if what Bo has - is it going to kill him. Kayla is going to do everything she can. Hope says Pop's sacrifice can't be in vain.
Steve discovers that a small explosive device was used - the wires are fried. There are two sets - which ones are for the fuel tanks and which for the controls - John doesn't know - he sure would like to have the controls working before they dump the fuel. Steve starts working on the wires. They're down to less than 40 seconds of air. Steve asks how long before they run out of fuel. John says not long enough - we're almost out of air. All the passengers realise there is no more air. Chloe doesn't want to die. Belle cries - she's worried about Claire. Marlena says she won't feel anything - she's asleep. Shawn tells Belle he loves her. Hope tells Bo she loves him. Marlena and Kayla say I love you's to their absentee mates. They all pass out.
Steve works put passes out from lack of oxygen. John takes a deep breath and attachs the wires Steve was working on. The fuel tanks are dumped. John sits behind the controls and pulls down the control panel and works on the other set of wires struggling. As the plane plunges Steve comes too. John asks him for help with the wires. Switch to the passengers - Philip is the first to regain consciousness - than Hope. Philip realises the plane is in a dive. Eventually Marlena comes to and she wakes up Belle and Shawn. As the plane rocks and rattles Bo comes too and asks what's happening. Very emotional scene follows when he realises that his father is gone - he cries out it was supposed to be me.
Inside the cockpit - we hear the sound of the instruments coming back on line. John yells at Steve to pull back so they can get the nose up. They finally manage to get the plane out of it's nose dive. Marlena calls up to the cockpit - John tells her they're out of fuel - prepare for a crash landing. Marlena says I love you John - he says that's nice to know. LOL! As they get closer to landing Steve prays - Dear God, help to make the landing spot a soft one (not those exact words) - LMAO at the look John gives him - like are you nuts??? Belle and Shawn exchange I love you's as do Bo and Hope ... John says, this is it ... the passengers start screaming - the screen goes black ...
Preview: It was all stuff in Abe's office - nothing of the plane or passengers.

Monday Feb 18
At the police station - A lot of frayed nerves and short tempers. Max flares up at Lexie and blames everything on EJ - he then apologises. Each one has their really down moments with someone else there to help ease their anxiety. Roman doesn't say this in front of the kids but he tells Abe and Lexie he wishes one person wasn't on that plane - John Black. In the last scene Abe informs them all that the FAA believes the plane crashed.
Crash site (somewhere in Greenland) - John is the first to regain consciousness. He walks around and shines his flash light at all the unconscious people. Belle is the first of the group to come to followed by Shawn - Claire is fine - not a scratch on her. Shawn goes to check on his parents, Belle on her mother - Claire is left with John. She wants juice. He wants juice for adults. He goes trudging off, she follows him like a good little trooper - LOL!
Kayla comes to and cries over Pop Shawn. Hope checks on Bo - he's unconscious but breathing. Shawn finds out about Pop Shawn. Kayla goes to look for Steve. Hope tells Shawn that his father is ver sick. They lay him down on the ground - Shawn discovers that he's not breathing - they start mouth to mouth and CPR.
Belle finds Chloe and Philip - Chloe has a cut on her face - Philip is still unconscious. He comes to and asks about Claire. Belle goes off in search of Marlena. Philip tells Chloe they have a problem - his leg is crushed - it's pinned under some debris. She is shocked - he starts laughing - it's his artifical leg. If any limb had to be crushed it's a good thing it was that one. She tries to lift it off of him but can't. He takes it off and helps her to lift the debris off. He won't be running any marathons anytime soon.
Belle finds Marlena - she's okay. Belle goes back to check on Claire. Marlena realises she's dislocated her shoulder. She's in a lot of pain. John comes along - she tells him he'll have to help her - she tried resetting it but couldn't. Just rotate and pull. He asks if that isn't going to hurt worst than what she is feeling now - it will but it has to be done. He tries but it doesn't work - she tells him to do it again - this time it works. He says so you're staying around because you like the pain. She says no, I'm staying around because I love you. Don't forget that ... geez ... she stomps off! (It was so funny hearing Marlena mutter 'geez' or 'sheesh' ... LOL!)
Kayla finds Steve - he's unconscious but breathing. She cries - she just lost her Pop she can't lose him too. She tells him she's pregnant. She can't do this alone again. Steve comes too - he heard a rumour that he got her pregnant. He tries to hug her but he can't - she thinks he punctured a lung. John comes along and Kayla sends him off to find Marlena's medical bag. He brings it back. Steve says - nice landing John. John says he couldn't have done it without his wingman. Kayla tells Steve with broken ribs and a punctured lung all that he can do is stay still and take short shallow breaths - they'll all have to try and manage the pain. She doubles over - at first she says it's just a cramp but when she tries to move again and the pain hits - she says it's the baby.
Marlena comes across Shawn and Hope trying to revive Bo. She goes and finds the portable defibralator and shocks him. Nothing - she asks if he suffered any trauma before or during the crash. Hope tells her he's very sick - Lexie wants him admitted to the hospital as soon as they get home. Marlena tries again - no response - and then the third time Bo starts breathing.
Belle leaves Claire with John again - he's sitting in one of the seats drinking vodka straight from one of those little serving bottles. He sets Claire on his lap and picks up the juice - he was saving it to make a screwdriver but ... she grabs it and starts drinking. He says you really like that juice. Claire answers - and that's a fact!!! LMAO - the look on John's face is hilarious. He tells her to cover her ears - she'll like this. He fires off a flair - they watch it explode in the sky. Claire says that's pretty.

Tuesday Feb 29
Crash site: Bo starts breathing again. He asks what happened – he remembers the crash. Hope tells him she’s okay. Shawn is okay. He asks about Pop. Hope asks – don’t you remember. She’s so sorry. He wouldn’t take the oxygen. She and Kay tried to talk him out of it but they couldn’t. Steve asks Kayla if she is alright – she’ll be fine. Chloe and Philip are still struggling to get Phil out from under the wreckage. He says they have to check on the others. Chloe will go. Bo goes to his father’s body and takes the blanket off. He cries ‘Pop’ as he lays his head on his chest. John tells Claire to cover her ears as he shoots off another flair. Belle comes along and asks if he thinks someone will see that. John hopes so otherwise they’re going to have to build an igloo. Belle thinks they can do better than that. There must he something in the plane. John hopes so because all they got right now is cold, dark night and it’s a long way til morning.
Steve can’t breathe very well. Chloe asks Steve and Kayla if she can help. Kayla asks her to find Marlena. Philip finally gets out from under the wreckage. Chloe finds Marlena and tells her that Steve and Kayla really need her help. Philip comes across Steve and Kayla. It would be better if Steve was moved inside the fuselage – he would be warmer. They’ll drag him there on a blanket. Shawn and John come along and offer to help. They carry the blanket to the plane – Steve moans in pain. Marlena examines Steve – he’s got a few broken ribs. She’s more concerned about his heart rate – it’s elevated. She’s not hearing any air coming out of that right lung – it’s punctured. She’ll give him something for the pain. She got Bo’s heart started again – she can handle this. Kayla asks what’s wrong with Bo. Marlena thinks it was lack of oxygen and they had a hard time getting him breathing again but he’s fine now. Kayla goes to see Bo.
Belle comforts a crying Shawn. He feels he should be taking care of her and Claire instead of crying. She tells him his Grandfather just died – he’s entitled to this moment. She thinks it’s nice to see one of the Brady men showing emotion. Shawn misses him so much. Belle says they all do – the Brady pub will never be the same. They talk about Grandpa Shawn. Shawn says they have to make sure and take Grandpa Shawn back to Salem – he knows that’s where he would want to be. Belle says it’s terrible that he’s gone but you have the memories. Shawn guesses that is what matters. He wants to make sure Claire’s memories are good ones. He wants her to grow up knowing that she’s got two parents that love each other. Belle says – we do, don’t we? He says we do.
Chloe and Philip are inside a tent – they mention finding them in the survival kits. The talk turns to Brady. Chloe wishes she knew something. She feels like she’s going to spend the rest of her life wondering what happened to him. Philip assures her that they will find him. Belle tries to convince Claire to come into the tent with them – doesn’t she want to help mommy and daddy stay warm. Claire says no (she wants to see Bo). Shawn tells her that Grandpa Bo isn’t feeling good. Hope says she can stay with them – it will make Grandpa Bo very happy. John drinks the rest of his liquor from the bottle. Marlena finds him – she doesn’t think any of them should be alone tonight – it’s not safe. He asks if she wants protection from the lions, tigers and polar bears. Marlena was thinking hypothermia. John can keep her warm. Marlena tells him she plans on being up and down during the night checking on the others. John says – suit yourself – he plans on getting a good night sleep. Marlena asks him if he can really do that after what they’ve been through today. John says it was a long day – tomorrow will likely be another one. Claire comes along – she came to kiss him goodnight. He crouches down and Claire kisses him on the cheek – goodnight Pop Pop. He says they tell me my name is John why don’t try calling me that. She says John, okay. She goes and hugs Marlena. After Claire leaves Marlena says wow, you’re so good with her. John says she’s a kid, what’s not to like. He goes inside the tent.
Marlena checks on Bo. Hope says she keeps checking to make sure he’s till breathing. Marlena tells Hope she has to get some sleep. She can’t. Marlena understands – she’s going to check on the others. They will make it through the night – try not to worry. She leaves. Hope tells Bo he made her a lot of promises and one of them was that they would grow old together – she’s going to hold him to that. Steve asks Kayla if they’re really going to have a baby. They are. Marlena arrives. Steve is feeling better – those were good drugs she gave him. Steve tells Marlena to check Kayla too. Kayla says she’s been cramping – she knows that all she can do is wait and maybe pray. Inside their tent – Shawn and Belle are talking. Shawn says it’s like a dream. Maybe they’ll wake up in Salem and everyone would be fine. Belle would love for everyone to be fine obviously but she really wants to be happy. Doesn’t he think they deserve to try again. He does. Marlena enters the tent – John appears to be sleeping. She lies down next to him with her back to him – he opens his eyes.
Bo wakes up. Hope tells him to go back to sleep. He tells her he was dreaming. He and Pop were out fishing (he was a kid then). A storm was coming and he noticed a rogue wave and he yelled at Pop to help him get the nets in but he wasn’t there. The wave kept coming closer and he kept calling for him but Pop wasn’t there. He says he was a good father. He’s going to miss him. Hope says they’re all going to miss him. She’s glad Bo told her he was sick – he never should have kept it from her. She knows he was trying to protect her – never do it again because they’re always there for each other. Bo says for better or worse, right? Hope agrees.
Kayla is so cold. Steve tells her to use his blanket – it’s going to be okay. They’ll make it. It’s going to be daylight soon – the sun will warm things up. There’s a rescue team out there looking for them – they’re going to find them. They talk about Stephanie and the new baby. Steve talks about how beautiful she was with Stephanie – she’ll be like that again. This time he’ll be there for all of it – the first word, first step, first day of school, ball games, dates – the whole shebang. They’re going to make it. John rolls up next to Marlena – relax, they have to do something to keep each other warm. Isn’t that what she was worried about? She says yes, right. John gropes her – Marlena sits up – that isn’t going to keep us warm. John says suit yourself. Marlena is in pain – it’s her shoulder. John asks if he can have a look at it. Marlena says – I suppose. She takes her jacket off and starts unbuttoning her blouse. Chloe snuggles up to Philip but then sits up – he would rather have Belle here with him. Philip tells her that Belle will always be a part of his life but she’s chosen Shawn and he accepts that – end of story. They snuggle but they’re both still very cold. Philip tells her they need to feed off each other’s body heat – the clothes are in the way. They need to take them off to ward off hypothermia. Chloe guesses they have to do what they have to do. They start removing clothing. Chloe hopes this works. They wrap up in a blanket and start kissing. Belle tells Shawn she thinks they have a lot to be grateful for. She wants them to be a family again – she doesn’t want to end up alone like her Grandmother Colleen. Neither does he – they kiss.
Police Station - office: Chelsea says – the plane crashed? Abe says the FAA says the plane went off radar and they haven’t been able to make contact. Stephanie says they shouldn’t think the worse – it’s possible they didn’t crash. Max asks if they know the exact location of the crash site – not yet. Max says they have to find them – half his family is on that plane. Chelsea says they were over Greenland they probably landed there. Max snaps – they didn’t land. Chelsea snaps back. Roman is going to call the FAA to see if there’s anything new to report. Lexie tells Abe that some of their best friends are on that plane – she can’t believe they may never see them again. Abe says they’ll make it – they’re some of the strongest people they know. Lexie says some are stronger than others. Roman gets off the phone – search planes are still out for the time being – they don’t have much hope of seeing anything until sunup tomorrow. Lexie says it could be too late by then. Roman wishes he could just get on a plane and go and find them himself. It’s his turn to start throwing things around. Lexie makes a discreet exit. Abe knows how he feels. Roman snaps – is that his family out there. Abe says no but they are like family to him and so is Roman. He knows he’s feeling frustrated and helpless. Roman adds and scared out of my mind. Abe tells him to remember that Bo, Hope and especially John Black are trained to survive in situations like this. Roman knows – it’s the John Black factor that worries him the most.
Caroline is there now. She gave Shawn a St Christopher medal before he left. The silly man didn’t want to take it. She sure hopes it’s protecting him now. Roman and Max assure her that’s he’s probably checking on everyone else and building shelters. They’ll hear all about it over a bowl of chowder and a pint or two of ale. Caroline is glad that he made peace with his sister Colleen. He thought she was dead all these years and he blamed himself for her death. It must be a big weight lifted off his shoulders. Victor and Kate arrive and ask Abe for information. Abe tells them the FAA thinks John’s plane has crashed – it could have been over open water and it’s just as likely it could have been over Greenland. Kate rants about Stefano – he’s gone after the Brady’s again and their son got caught in the crossfire. Why was Philip on John’s plane? He took the Titan jet to Ireland. Victor reminds her that he brought the jet back to help out Chelsea. Kate asks what is being done to find them. Abe tells her the search planes are still out – they’ll hear something soon.
Maggie comes running in – she got here as soon as she could. She tried to get hold of Doug and Julie – they’re travelling but their cell phones are out of range. Caroline thanks her for coming and hugs her and cries. Roman comes out with a report from NORAD. It’s not good. They’re pulling the rescue planes out – the forest is too dense, it’s too dark and they don’t want to risk losing them as well. The planes will go back out at first light tomorrow – they won’t know anything until then. Victor tells Abe he needs to know that everything possible is being done to find their families. Abe says the FAA, NORAD and Homeland Security have assured him they’re doing everything possible. Victor says what about more planes, some more searchers. Abe says all they can do is just wait for daylight. Caroline says they don’t have to just wait – she knows something they can do.
St Luke’s: Kate and Victor are the first to arrive. Victor thinks Caroline is lucky because on a night like this she can come in here and pray and feel like she’s doing something. Still there is something he finds comforting about the church especially since he got older. His mother was very devout. She tried to instil that in – it didn’t exactly take. Kate says Austin and Billie have left town, Lucas is in prison, Philip is the only one that they have left. She doesn’t know what she is going to do if they lose him. Victor takes her hand. Everyone else is the church now – Caroline is at the front kneeling and praying the others take turns lighting a candle. Caroline leads them all in The Lord’s Prayer.
Final Segment: It’s a musical montage that cuts back and forth from the people in the church to the crash site. Steve and Kayla are snuggled tightly together asleep. Hope checks on Bo and Claire – they’re all three snuggled together. Belle and Shawn are having sex. Philip and Chloe are kissing passionately. John is undoing the buttons of Marlena’s blouse. She cups his face and kisses him.
Preview: Philip to Chloe – So was it weird for you. Chloe – No, you’re an incredible man. Marlena to John – I would do anything to get your memory back. John – I’ll think I’ll take you up on that. Shawn to Belle – So were you warm last night. Belle – I was. Shawn – It did get pretty hot, didn’t it. They kiss.

Wednesday Feb 20
Crash site: Kayla is crying. Steve tries to comfort her – she tells him to lay still. Steve is sorry about her Pop. He was a good man. Go ahead and cry for him. She says it’s not just for him. John tells Marlena to rise and shine. She thought it was a dream. John asks – the rough landing or the kiss. Marlena insists it was a crash – John insists it was just a rough landing. Marlena asks if he remembers kissing her before that kiss they shared last night. He’s not sure but maybe if they do it again it will jog his memory. Marlena will do anything to get his memory back. John will take her up on that. Shawn and Belle are awake – Shawn is pleased with how hot things got – he was inspired. Chloe and Philip wake up. Philip asks if it was weird for her to sleep with him naked. Chloe says no, he’s an incredible man but she thinks they should put their clothes on – she’s still married. Philip says that’s why we didn’t take it any further. He wanted to. So did she. Philip says to sleep with a married woman is wrong. He didn’t want to do anything they would regret later. Chloe knows – for once they did the wise thing. She doesn’t need any more regrets. Hope tells Bo to hang on – they’re going to be rescued. Rest, save his strength – Bo sleeps.
Kayla is crying for her mom and all her siblings. She doesn’t know how her mom is going to handle it. Steve says they will all cry because that’s what they should do grieve. He was a great father – they were lucky to have him. He wishes he could hold her. She’ll hold him instead. They cuddle and she cries. Philip agrees with Chloe – they should get up and put on their clothes. Some banter follows about who should get dressed first and no peeking. Chloe starts getting dressed. Even though they didn’t do anything this is kind of awkward – what happens in Greenland stays in Greenland. He agrees. Belle apologises for everything that happened with Philip. Can he forgive her? Shawn says he loves her. Belle says sometimes love isn’t enough. He says he was confused and angry but he never stopped loving her. They’re a family, he, she and Claire and maybe there’ll be another one. John asks Marlena if she is serious or just talking. She would do anything to get him back. She wants the real John Black back not Stefano’s creation. John says they should try and get him back then – he’s real cold. They get under the covers. Marlena tells him they have a special love – it’s still here but he isn’t. John says maybe his mind isn’t but his body is. She wants his mind too. He says brace yourself and starts kissing her neck.
Hope tells Bo that she knows he can hear her. He’s a father and a husband – he’s always been a fighter so damn it, fight. Do it for her and their kids. She tells him don’t you dare give up on us. Kayla tells Steve they’ll stay like this until they’re rescued. Steve can keep it together – a few cracked ribs won’t kill him, right. She says not if you’re careful. He asks if she is worried about Bo. She is. She moans. He asks if she’s having another cramp. She tells him no, she’s good. Steve thinks she’s doing too much – she’s putting a strain on herself and the baby. She tells him both her and the baby will survive. That’s more than her Pop did. He gave his life so they could all survive. Mom is going to be devastated. Steve says she didn’t lose you or Bo. Kayla says she hasn’t lost Bo yet – he needs treatment – maybe even surgery. He’s so sick – she can see it in his eyes. She knows her brother – he’s in bad shape – she can tell. Marlena asks John if he remembers anything – he thinks he remembers that he likes doing this a lot. Marlena meant did he remember anything about her. He’s sure he will the second time around. Marlena says no. John thinks she’ll be back for more – she seemed to enjoy it. She really enjoyed it because she thought she was making love to her husband not a perfect stranger. This won’t happen again until he knows exactly who sure is. He knows who she is – Dr. Marlena Evans Black, his wife. Now take off your clothes and lie back now. They have to keep each other warm. Marlena tells him he’ll have to keep himself warm – she has patients to see. Belle tells Shawn they are meant to be together and always have been. Even when she messed up she had faith. Searching for Claire and finding Colleen brought them back together. Family is what is really important. She wants to spend the rest of her life with him if he can truly forgive her. He says if she keeps doing what she did last night they might be able to work something out. Chloe thanks Philip – she really needed someone she could feel close to, feel safe with – a friend. Philip is there for her – they’ll try and find her husband. Hope knows that Bo is trying – he can do it, she knows he can. Don’t die on me.
Hope asks Bo to please be strong for their family, for her. Don’t give up. Marlena comes along. Hope tells her she thought Bo was coming around but nothing. Marlena yells at Bo to answer her – no response. She’ll do all she can but they’ll have to hold on until help arrives. Hope says what if help never comes. Marlena tells her that John is sure the radar was on when the plane went down. They’ll have their approximate location – they’ll be here in no time. Hope says time is something we don’t have. Marlena says it’s cold so Bo’s body temperature will drop, so will circulation and so will the cells attacking his body. Hope asks about the beating his body took when the plane crashed. Marlena says that doesn’t help but the cold will keep his body from swelling. Belle and Shawn show up. Shawn asks how his dad is. Hope says not good. Shawn has some blankets – Marlena says no – keep his body cool and let his metabolism slow down. When Marlena finds out Hope hasn’t slept she tells her she needs to get some sleep. Hope can’t sleep – she won’t. Marlena is going to check on the others. Shawn asks Marlena – my Dad’s not going to die, right? Before Marlena answers Steve and Kayla walk up. Marlena tells him he shouldn’t be up and walking around. Kayla says maybe he’ll listen to you – he wouldn’t listen to me. Marlena wants to talk to Kayla for a second – is she alright. Kayla tells her she was cramping and spotting during the night – still is. Steve thinks it stopped last night. She doesn’t want him to know. Marlena tells her to take care of herself and her family – including the baby. She tells her to get off her feet. Kayla sits down next to Steve – she tells him she’s a little dizzy – nothing to worry about. Shawn asks Marlena again – tell me that my dad is going to get better. Kayla asks if he’s worst. Marlena says he’s not doing well. Steve says they’ll be rescued. Chloe and Philip walk up – Philip says they will find us. Hope joins them – what if it’s too late. John comes up with some supplies – anyone up for breakfast.
Hope says no thanks. Frozen food doesn’t sound too appealing to Chloe. Kayla thinks they should all try to eat something. John asks Hope how her husband is. She says not good. Marlena says they need to get him to a hospital. John will fire off another flare. Shawn goes with him. Philip tells Hope not to worry – they’ll do this by the book. They have flight plans – they had to have them on radar. They’ll find them. John tells Shawn he’s sorry about his grandfather. They hear a chopper. John says they have exactly 10 seconds to find the flares. Shawn finds them – John fires one off. The group stands and cheers as the chopper nears. Hope is with Bo – she kisses his cheek – Claire smiles.
Police Station - office: Roman is on the phone asking if they got a bead on that emergency locator transmitter – no. But they think they went down over Greenland. Caroline and Victor come in. Roman tells them the plane was going down fast when they dropped off radar. Victor asks how close they were to an airstrip. Roman says not far – they probably could have made it to the airstrip if the pilot would have turned west but the plane didn’t make a single turn. Caroline knows that they are coming back. Victor is going to get his own search team together. Roman assures him the search team is on top of things – they’ll find them. Max and Stephanie say they’re going with Victor. Roman tells them to wait for a report. They’ve got Canadian Search & Rescue, the Coast Guard, the Navy and two satellite based systems on it. They’re using infrared, heat sensing equipment and emergency signal receivers. Victor asks if they have gotten a signal from the emergency transponder yet – when Roman says no Victor says another pair of eyes won’t hurt then. Roman says give search & rescue 12 hours to do their job. Lexie and Abe return from the church – Kate and Chelsea are still there. Roman thinks they should all go back to the church. Caroline has said all she can say to God – He knows where she stands – she suggests that Max and Stephanie go – they’ll let them know as soon as they hear something.
Both Abe and Roman are on calls – Victor, Lexie and Caroline step out of the office. Lexie listens as Victor and Caroline talk about how tough Bo is. He’ll come through this without a scratch. He has guts and determination. Victor is proud to have him as a son. Caroline has seen a different side to the tough guy Victor Kiriakis – a side she hasn’t seen for a long time. Victor says because of Caroline’s strength and beauty they have a beautiful son – he would have liked to have known Bo was his before Bo had turned 20. Caroline couldn’t do that to Shawn. Victor says Shawn raised him well – he’ll tell him that when he gets back. Caroline talks about Bo being a special man – she’s amazed at his inner strength. It’s the Kiriakis in him – he’d do anything for his family. Victor wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him coming through that door carrying them all on his back. Kate comes in – anything yet. Victor says no. He can’t stand around here – he has to get a plane ready. Abe signals them to come into the office. Abe gets off the phone – they found the wreckage – someone fired off a flare.
St Luke’s: Chelsea makes the crash about her – it’s all her fault. People around her always die. Both Zack and Ford are dead because of her. Both Kate and Nick who has just arrived tell her it’s not her fault. She snivels – what will I do without my dad. Nick says his gut is telling him they’ll all be fine – Chelsea’s gut says differently. She wants her mom. Kate will call her. Stephanie and Max join Chelsea and Nick (Kate is gone). They determine that the search crews should be going out now. Stephanie feels like a jerk – after how she treated her parents all she can do is sit here and wait. Chelsea whines – she doesn’t remember the last time she told her dad she loved him. Max tells Chelsea he knows how much Bo loves her and how proud he is of her. They talk about Pop Shawn – he’s so positive. He sees the best of everyone. Chelsea gets a call – no news yet. Her phone rings again – Kate tells Chelsea they found the plane. It crashed but someone shot off a flare. Chelsea tells the others that they found them – they’re alive. (How she got that from ‘SOMEONE’ fired off a flare I’ll never know).
Preview: Caroline to the group – When Shawn gets here we’re all going back to the pub and have a good hot breakfast. Abe to John and Marlena – We’re going to want to hear all the details. John – All I know is someone owes me a jet. Caroline (as Bo is wheeled in on a stretcher) – What’s wrong with Bo? Is this what you didn’t want me to know?

Thursday Feb 21
Hospital: Caroline asks Abe and Roman why they haven’t heard from them yet. Roman tells her the transport plane just landed a half hour ago. Abe tells her they cut through as much red tape as they could with Homeland Security and Customs but it’s still hard to get back in the country. Lexie tells them the ambulances are on their way. Sami and EJ come rushing in. Sami wants to know if Mom is okay. Roman tells her they’re on their way here. Lexie tells Sami that there were EMT’s on site – if any of them had been seriously injured they wouldn’t have been cleared to fly back. Shawn, Belle and Claire are the first to arrive. Claire tells Caroline she’s so glad to see her. Lexie wants them to get checked out. Victor asks why the others aren’t here yet. Shawn says they were right behind them. Caroline can’t wait to see the rest of her family. Two gurneys with bodies are wheeled in. Lexie asks – who are they?
Shawn says those are the pilots. Lexie gets a nurse to take Claire for ice cream. She asks the EMT’s to take the bodies to the morgue. Roman asks Shawn what happened to the pilots. He says they died when the plane lost air. Roman asks if he knows what caused the crash. Shawn tells him and Abe that it wasn’t an accident. The pilot’s water was drugged and all the flight controls had been tampered with. Philip and Chloe come in. Victor embraces Philip and glares at Chloe – he promises Philip that they’ll get to the bottom of this. It’s Kate turn to embrace Philip. Is everything alright? Philip is happy to be home. He broke his leg – fortunately it was his prosthetic one. Victor wants to hear everything that went on up there. So does Roman. Chelsea, Stephanie and Max are talking to Caroline. Stephanie is just glad that her Grandpa got to see his sister before she died. So is Caroline except she’s afraid the shock of finding his sister and losing his sister so soon might not have hit him. She thinks the two of them should get away for a little while. All the survivors exchange looks as Caroline is talking. Shawn tells Caroline he needs to tell her something. At that moment Marlena and John walk in and Sami goes running to her Mom – what happened to her arm. She dislocated her shoulder but its okay, John was able to snap it back into place. She adds in fact, John and Steve landed the plane. If they hadn’t done that she doubts any of them would be here right now. Abe wants to hear all the details. John says all he knows is that someone owes him a jet. Marlena goes to Caroline – she’s so sorry. Caroline says you must be so relieved to be back and she’s glad that Marlena is home safe. Shawn tries to say something but Caroline stops him. When Shawn gets here they’ll all go back to the pub and have a good, hot breakfast. Kayla comes in and Stephanie hugs her. Steve is brought in on a gurney. He tells Stephanie he’s okay – just a few cracked ribs. Lexie tells the EMT’s to take Steve to a cubicle. She tells Kayla that her doctor is on the way. Caroline hugs Kayla. Kayla says I’m so sorry, so sorry. Caroline wants to know why everyone keeps saying that. Bo is then wheeled in – Hope is beside him. Caroline cries – what’s wrong with Bo. Is that what you didn’t want me to know?
Hope tells them it didn’t happen in the crash. Lexie orders the EMT to take Bo into a cubicle and she tells Kayla to get into one as well. Kayla has to talk to her mom. Lexie says if it’s about Bo I’ll tell her. Kayla needs to talk to her mom. Steve tells Kayla to go and get checked out. Kayla looks at Hope who is hugging Caroline – Hope nods her head – it’s okay. Hope tells Caroline that Bo is sick. Caroline wants to know what is wrong with him. Lexie says they don’t know yet – some abnormality showed up in his blood work. They didn’t want anyone to panic until they knew exactly what they were dealing with. Now that he’s back they’ll immediately start extensive testing. Hope tells Caroline that she’s sorry she had to find out like this. They hug. Hope says Marlena? Marlena nods. Hope leaves to be with Bo. Marlena tells Caroline that Bo is so strong and as soon as he’s fully diagnosed they’ll start treatment. Caroline asks – what do they think he has. Marlena says it’s too soon to tell. Shawn tells Caroline that there’s something else she needs to know. Marlena adds – we can’t keep this from you any longer. Caroline says if this has to do with Bo she doesn’t want to hear it until Shawn gets here. Where is he? She looks at everyone. Why didn’t he get off the plane with the rest … just then another gurney with a body is wheeled in. Caroline starts crying – oh no- oh my god.
Caroline goes to the gurney. Shawn apologises – he wanted to tell Roman and Grandmother earlier but everyone kept walking in … Roman asks what happened. Caroline asks if it was his heart. Shawn says no. Belle says in a way it kind of was. Caroline doesn’t understand. Philip says he died a hero. Max says tell us. Shawn tells them he wasn’t with Grandpa. Grandpa didn’t want him or Belle to know what was going on but his parents and Kayla were there. The plane was sabotaged. There was a small hole in the fuselage and they lost cabin pressure. Belle adds it was freezing and no one could breathe. Shawn tells them the masks fell. His Dad knew that he was sick so he insisted on giving up his oxygen. He wouldn’t take it – he passed out and so Grandpa and Mom put the mask on him so he could continue to breath. And then Mom tried to give Grandpa the mask but he refused to take it. He knew there wasn’t enough oxygen on the plane for them all to survive. Mom and Kayla tried to force it on him but he refused. He died so that his family could live. Caroline wants to see him. Roman is sobbing – no he doesn’t think so but Caroline insists. Lexie pulls the blanket back.
Roman and Victor try to get Caroline to step away from the gurney but she won’t. Maggie comes to her and Caroline breaks down. It’s not fair, it’s not right – all those years together. Caroline says she can’t let him go – she can’t. Marlena tells John that at one time he thought Caroline was his mother. Can he find it in his heart to offer her a few words of comfort? John doesn’t answer but goes to Caroline. He says they tell me that for a while I thought that you and this man were my parents. He doesn’t remember that. But from what he saw of him and what he did, he truly wishes that he had been his father. Caroline thanks him – it means a lot. John walks away. Roman tells Caroline that she should let Maggie take her back to the pub. Caroline isn’t leaving here until she knows her family is alright. Maggie tells Caroline that she’s in shock – she needs to process this. Maggie says she will stay with her. Roman promises that they will all come over when they’re done here. Caroline says I should go to the pub – there are a lot of things to do – arrangements to make. Maggie says and you’ll do them but right now you have to deal with your loss and give yourself time to grieve. Caroline goes to Pop Shawn’s body and cries – she strokes his hair and says goodbye sweet Shawn and kisses his forehead. Maggie leads her out. Victor starts following but Kate stops him. Lexie says take him to the morgue. They all stand and watch as the gurney is wheeled away.
Steve is bandaged up and told not to put any pressure on those ribs. He overhears Kayla telling the doctor she’s afraid she’s losing the baby. The doctor tells her she’s going to have to avoid all stress. Stephanie comes in to see Steve – he tells her about the baby. She’s thrilled. They decide that Kayla will have to spend the rest of her pregnancy in bed. They have a family reunion. Stephanie is happy they’re home – she was so scared. Both Steve and Kayla have to stay in overnight.
Lexie comes to see Bo – he’s in for a long stay and a lot of tests. When Bo hears that his father’s body was just brought in he wants to go and be with his mom. Lexie tells him she’s in good hands. She wants to know what kind of symptoms he’s been having. Bo tells her he feels nauseous and his lower back hurts. It reminds him of Isabella dying of pancreatic cancer. Lexie says it could be a lot of things – don’t jump to conclusions. Hope tells Bo she’s not going to lose him. He says damn right you’re not. Chelsea joins Bo and Hope – she questions them – what is this, how serious is it. Bo thinks he just needs Hopes’ famous back rub and he’ll be fine. Chelsea thinks because they’re making light of it could be something serious. Bo tells her it could be. Victor comes in and calls him son. If there’s anything he can do just ask. Just before Bo is wheeled away for testing Victor comes back and tells him if they can’t find out what is wrong he’ll bring in as many specialists as necessary. Bo thanks him.
Marlena tells Sami that she’s sorry about Grandpa. Sami can’t believe he’s gone. Marlena tells EJ that she can’t believe that his father’s organization didn’t have something to do with it. EJ says if he did he’ll find out. Marlena believes him because he broke with his father and told her that John was alive. For that he gets very high marks with her. Marlena suggests that Sami go home to her babies. Sami refuses to leave until her mother is checked out – no arguments. EJ suggests breakfast and reminds her that she has two babies at home – she can’t get sick. Sami reluctantly goes off with him for breakfast.
Philip is heading off to the prosthetics department with Chloe when Victor stops them. He wants to know what Chloe knows about his grandson’s disappearance. Chloe claims she’s innocent – Philip believes her. Victor says that he has contacts within and outside the law and not one of them has heard a thing about Brady. No one disappears from the face of the planet – they have him someplace. He vows that anyone that kidnapped Brady or did worst will pay. Chloe declares she didn’t do anything – she and Philip walk away. Kate asks Victor if he thinks Chloe has her sights set on Philip now. It wouldn’t surprise him. Kate knows what Chloe is after – Victor’s money. Kate walks away. Victor says to John that’s your son we’re talking about – does he have any interest at all in trying to find him. John doesn’t know him but yes he’s curious. It’s not all that easy to just disappear. Victor agrees. John says I was married to your daughter and we had that kid Brady, wasn’t it. Victor says yes – she loved you very much. John says that’s what I’ve been told, so does blondie. You were my father-in-law – did we get along? Victor answers not always but after Isabella died they put their differences aside. You were an admirable man. John asks if he’s implying that he can’t be again. Victor says that would be up to you, wouldn’t it and walks away.
Max and Roman head off to the pub. Abe goes back to the station. Lexie wants to examine John. He refuses – he’s been poked and prodded and injected with enough needles to last two lifetimes. He’s fine. Marlena tells him to let a doctor decide that. He will but only if it’s her – he’ll show her his if she’ll show him hers. She agrees. Shawn and Belle and Philip and Chloe return from being checked out. Shawn and Belle head home. Philip asks Chloe if she is going to be alright. She doesn’t know – it hasn’t all hit her yet. He suggests she come home with him. She protests but when he asks if she wants to be alone in a hotel room when it does hit her she changes her mind and agrees to go with him. Kate watches.
Sami and EJ return – she asks her mom if they should go to the pub. Marlena thought they’d wait and give Caroline some time to herself. Sami wants to hear about what happened in Ireland. Marlena would be happy to share that with her at some point. EJ goes to get the car. Marlena comments that they’re getting on pretty well. Sami says while they were in the safe-house he was really good with the twins. Marlena is glad. Sami asks if they can give her and John a ride somewhere. John says no thanks – he doesn’t know where he wants to go yet. Marlena thought he would come home with her. John says actually you can take me to the DiMera mansion. Sami asks him why he would go there. John answers because I have every right to live there. Sami asks what that means. Marlena says a lot happened in Ireland that I’ll explain to you at some point.
Preview: Tony to Anna – Why don’t I stay the night? Anna – You can’t. Lexie to John – You’re actually my uncle. Steve looking at a note – OMG, she’s here – the note says ‘That bitch will not have your baby.’

Hospital: Bo is resting when Roman comes in. Roman is holding off the NTSB from questioning Bo but he has questions. What happened? Bo answers the radio’s went out, controls went out, pilots went out and they crashed. Steve and John did the best they could to give them a safe landing. Any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Roman says but you didn’t want away. Bo says not because of the crash. Roman adds and Pop didn’t walk away at all and it wasn’t because of the crash either. He was a good man. Bo says the best. Kayla asks Steve how he is when he wakes up. She and the baby are fine. Steve is ready to get back in the ring. The truth is he just wants to cuddle up with her at home for a month. He tells her to go back to her room and maybe they’ll spring them both. She leaves – he pulls out the threatening note and reads it again.
Shawn, Belle and Claire come in to see Bo. Bo asks Claire if is she’s happy to be home. She says yes, it’s so much warmer. She hugs Bo. Shawn says there’s someone else here to see her – it’s Caroline. Caroline hugs him – she’s so glad he’s here. Bo wishes Pop were here. Roman asks Caroline if she wants to talk about it. She thinks they should. Belle takes Claire to the vending machines. Bo says Pop died because of him. There wasn’t enough oxygen. Roman gives all the technical details. Shawn adds they had to use the oxygen masks. Bo says the problem was there wasn’t enough oxygen to last as long as they were up at that altitude. Pop kept saying he had a long good life and it was time for him to go. Bo wasn’t going to let him – he made sure he had an oxygen mask – they shared one. But he passed out. Hope and Kayla put a mask on him to make sure he kept breathing. They tried to get Pop to use one but he knew that there wasn’t enough for all of them so he refused to take any more. Shawn says Grandpa died so his family could live.
Bo says it’s his fault – Pop died because of him. Caroline tells him not to say that – his father made a choice. He’d do anything for his children just like you would give up your life for Shawn so don’t feel guilty. Shawn declares he’d do the same for Claire – any real father would have done what Grandpa Shawn did so don’t take it away from him. Caroline tells him to accept it as a gift. Bo tells her that he’s sick – he could be dying. What if Pop did this for nothing? Lexie states he did not do it for nothing. He’s not dying – not on her watch. Bo points out that she doesn’t know what’s wrong with him. She’ll find out. What if it’s terminal? Lexie says lets not go there – it’s way too soon. She wants a word alone with her patient. Bo says I’m sorry, Ma. Caroline says – don’t you ever say that again. I’m proud of your father. He died a hero. Be a good boy and listen to your doctor. Roman chimes in with his words of encouragement followed by Shawn.
It’s just Bo and Caroline now. Bo says he was a good father. Caroline says he loved you as a son. For a long time he thought you were his son. They butted heads so often when Bo was younger because they were both so stubborn. It broke his heart when Bo joined the Merchant Marines. Then he found out Victor was his father – it made him realise how much he loved him. It didn’t matter – all that mattered was their father son bond. Bo didn’t see a change in him when he found out. Caroline did. He was so mad at her – she can’t blame him. She didn’t think he would forgive her. He wouldn’t have done that to her – he was loyal, generous, strong and hard-working. There’s a whole list of things his father was – she could go on and on. Bo remembers when he asked him if Santa Claus was real. He took him out on the front steps and they talked. There was a sadness in his voice but also excitement to know that his little boy was growing up. Bo starts crying. When they were finished he just put his arm around him and they sat there looking out at the water watching the boats go by. Caroline remembers that day too because when Shawn came in his eyes were all watery. She asked him what happened and he told her. Caroline thinks Shawn knew that there wouldn’t be any more little tykes running around. It was the end of an era for their family. Bo tells her that he saw the world in her. He worked his tail off to raise us the best he could. He was kind of excited to see them go off on their own cause then he knew he could devote more time to her but he was always their Pop. Caroline says he told her that was his job – to be a father – to always be there for his children no matter how old they were. Bo cries – he was there for me at the end. Caroline hugs him he’s there for you now. And he’s there for Roman, Kayla, Kimmy and all his grandchildren. Bo says he’ll always be there for you too. Caroline says yeah. They cry.
Bo is with Lexie – they’re getting ready to take him for tests. They are going to be running the gamut so it will take awhile. Bo wants her to always tell him the truth. She will. He asks – what’s the worst case scenario. Lexie may always tell him the truth but she won’t always answer his questions. Bo says – that bad, huh. Lexie says the truth is I don’t know what’s wrong with you. Bo asks if she’ll tell him when she narrows it down. That depends on how confident she is that they’ve actually narrowed it down but yes she will be absolutely honest with him. Bo tells her that she has to tell him before she tells his family. She agrees.
Sorority house: Chelsea is still in even though she ratted them out … a list of places that offer internships is passed around. Max shows up – Chelsea and Stephanie comfort him. Chelsea leaves to check on her dad. Morgan and Stephanie comfort Max. Stephanie leaves to check on her parents. Morgan tells Max that Stephanie loves and trusts him. He knows. Max and Morgan agree to be friends.
Steve & Kayla / Steve & Ava: Steve and Kayla get back to their suite. They’re arguing about who should be helping who – Steve wins when he tells her that if he was carrying their baby he’d let her help. They sit on the couch. She reminds him that he had something he wanted to tell her last night. He doesn’t remember – he was really out of it. He suggests that she go and lie down. She doesn’t want to. He compromises – she can lie on the couch and he’ll go and get them something to eat. As he’s walking through an alley he hears footsteps behind him. He turns around and sees the woman that he saw in Ireland and grabs her around the neck and pushes her up against a wall. It was her in Ireland. She was hoping he’d know it was her. Her goon pulls Steve off and hits him in the ribs. Steve goes down. Ooh – did he get a little owie or is that from the crash. Steve asks her what she wants. He never said goodbye, Patch or should she call him Steve. He says ok – goodbye – he stands up. She punches him in the ribs – he goes down again. She says it’s too late. He told her that he wanted her to have his babies. Steve says sorry – he’s not that person anymore. She says it seems like the new Steve is going to have to pay for the old Patch’s mistakes. Steve asks her what she wants from him. She wants him back. Steve thinks she has a funny way of showing it. She doesn’t think a few cracked ribs are a big deal – he needs to suffer the way she suffered for all those years. She’s going to get him back. Steve says you had your people screw with the plane, huh? She says they messed up – they were just supposed to keep it from taking off – she was a little surprised when it did. She had gone all the way to Ireland to get him and he just flew away. Steve says – you admit it. You had your people tamper with the plane. She answers – they got carried away in the wrong direction – it happens. You didn’t die. Steve says he didn’t die but others did. What’s the matter with her? Is she really that crazy? She answers that daddy doesn’t like her to get out of the house much - but sometimes she gets away. Steve tells her she’s sick. She wants him to come with her. Steve makes like he’s following her but its just so he can get the jump on the goon. He levels him and then tells the woman to stay away from his family. She says it’s not over.
Steve returns from Buddy’s Burger Barn with cheese burgers, extra crispy fries and chocolate milkshakes. He hears a pounding noise from the room above. Kayla thinks they’re taking salsa lessons or something – the banging has been going on since he left. She asks about his ribs. He thinks the pills wore off – he’s going to get some more. He gets up and locks the door. Kayla asks if he’s expecting trouble. After they’re done eating Kayla picks up a picture of Mom and Pop. She says her Pop was the best Dad a girl could ask for. He was so kind and loving – she always knew he would protect them. Steve tells her that her Pop went out on his own terms saving the people he loves. What he did – he’d do that for her and Stephanie – they mean everything to him. The banging noise is heard again. Kayla asks Steve why he’s so jumpy. He says it’s probably left over adrenaline from the crash. She tells him no need to worry – they are home and they are safe. Steve tells her to go and lie down in the bedroom – he’ll join her. She goes in the bedroom and Steve unlocks a box in one of the drawers and takes out a gun. He puts the safety chain on the door. Steve hears someone trying the door. He pulls the gun out and looks around the door when it’s opened to see Stephanie – he hides the gun so she doesn’t see it. He takes the chain off. She asks if he’s okay. He is. She asks about mom. Steve says she’s doing great – she’s resting in the bedroom. She’d like to see her. Stephanie tells Steve she loves him – he loves her too. Once Stephanie is in the bedroom Steve locks the door and puts the chain back on. He sits on the couch and hides the gun underneath the seat cushion.
Preview: Belle to Sami – How are you handling all this without Lucas? (EJ is standing behind Sami with his arms full of baby stuff – the look on his face is priceless – LOL!) Stephanie to Steve – Papa, I really wish you’d tell me what’s going on. Abe to John and Marlena – John and I have unfinished business, police business – he pulls out his badge.

Tuesday Feb 26
Brady pub: Sami and Belle approach the pub. There’s a sign on the door saying it’s closed due to a death in the family. Sami can’t imagine the pub without Grandpa – it won’t be the same. Belle tells her their family will never be the same. Sami says they’ll have to focus on Grandma. They go inside – Roman, Shawn, Caroline and Father Jansen are there. Caroline tells them they were just making the arrangements for the funeral. Roman says they’re just keeping it simple. Sami knows that is how grandpa would want it. Shawn asks Belle about Hope. She’s on her way to the hospital – more tests for Bo. Caroline asks where the kids are – she’s usually the babysitter. Claire and Ciara are with Maggie at Alice’s. Caroline asks Sami where the twins are. Just then EJ arrives weighted down with diaper bags and pushing the carriage – it’s like manoeuvring a battleship.
Sami hopes they weren’t any trouble. EJ says they let him off easy today. Caroline comments that she could have dropped them off with Maggie and Alice. Sami says it sounds like they already have their hands full. EJ adds that any opportunity he gets to spend with these two he loves. Sami comments that he’s gotten really good at looking after them. Roman turns the conversation back to the service. Father Jansen wants to talk about what he’s going to say in the eulogy. Roman says he’d like to give the eulogy along with other family members. Father Jansen tells Caroline that he, Roman and Shawn can finish this if it’s too difficult for her. She says no – she should know better than anyone what Shawn would want. Sami asks Belle if she and Shawn are back together. They are. With Grandpa and Bo being sick there’s a lot of comfort in being with the love of your life. How is she handling all of this without Lucas.
Outside the pub Caroline approaches EJ – she knows exactly how he feels. EJ says you’re grieving for your husband, how would you know let alone care what I’m feeling. Caroline knows that look – the look that says I made mistakes and I don’t know how to fix them but I want to. EJ is sceptical – she gleaned all that from a look. She did – she’s been there. She made her share of mistakes – the worst one was betraying her husband and wedding vows. EJ says they don’t need to talk about that. Caroline says she’s been forgiven – it was a long time ago but if she can help him by talking about it she feels she should. EJ doesn’t see how talking about it would help. She sees how much he cares for Sami. He does. Caroline thinks he’s really trying to change. He is. She believes him – don’t dwell on the mistakes because some good can come from that. EJ doesn’t see how anything good can come from all the horrible things his family has done to Sami. She didn’t think anything good could come from her affair with Victor but something did – it was Bo. So she had to admit shockingly that her worst mistake ended in some good results. EJ admits he’s never thought about it like that. Caroline says he doesn’t have to believe her – he can see for himself if he comes to Shawn’s funeral. His death was a tragedy but it’s brought their family closer together. You just realise that you should live every moment of life to the fullest and who knows what other good it might bring. EJ promises to be there.
EJ and Caroline go back into the pub. Sami asks if there is anything she can do. Caroline says no. She has Roman, Shawn and Belle to help her – just take her babies and go home. They hug. Sami and EJ leave. Caroline tells the others that one thing Shawn prided himself on was that he felt this pub was the perfect pub for an Irish wake. She’s determined that he’s going to have the best send-off that any Irishman could have. Everyone agrees – Caroline distributes the tasks and they get started. Belle tells Caroline that all the food has been ordered – they’ll pick it up on their way back from the hospital. Shawn and Belle leave. Roman asks Caroline what she and EJ were talking about. Caroline told him not to be too hard on himself. Roman asks her if she really thinks a son of Stefano can change. Caroline says anyone change – they just need something or someone to make them want to do it.
Steve & Kayla’s suite: Steve tries to convince Kayla to stay in bed. He gets her to sit down and continues trying to persuade her to get more rest. She finally agrees to one hour tops! She goes into the bedroom – he makes a call. How soon can you meet me? He opens the door to leave and Stephanie is just outside the door. Stephanie asks him what is wrong. Steve says his ribs are really bothering him – he doesn’t want Kayla to know. He’s got an errand to run. Stephanie isn’t buying it – she’ll ask mom to get him to talk. Steve tells her he has something he needs to deal with – he can handle it. There’s nothing for her to be concerned about. Stephanie wishes he would tell her what’s going on. He insists – it’s nothing. Stephanie knows he’s hiding something. Steve tells her to trust him. Stephanie says sometimes he acts before he thinks. Steve says this time he knows exactly what he’s doing. He quickly covers when Kayla comes out of the room – he tells her that Stephanie can’t believe he sent her back to bed. Kayla came out because she’s hungry. Steve offers to order her tea and toast but Stephanie says she’ll go to the store. Mom is probably craving chips and onion dip like she used to when she was pregnant with her – she heard all the stories. Steve tells Kayla to get back into bed or no chips and dip. She goes – Stephanie leaves. Steve makes a call – he got hung up, he’s on his way now.
Stephanie returns. Kayla comes out of the bedroom. They realise Steve is gone. Stephanie says he told me he had an errand to run – it must have been really important for him to leave you here alone. They head to the bedroom for snacks and TV. Steve returns with some snacks as well – he listens to make sure Kayla and Stephanie are in the bedroom. He hangs up his jacket on a chair with the gun in the inside pocket. He makes a call – that information he gave him did not trace back to Ava. She’s here and she got to him and people died because of her. He has to find her and stop her before she hurts somebody else. Come on – you’re saying there’s no record of where she is now or where she’s been living. He knows all about how her Daddy protects her – he’s got to be the only one that doesn’t know she’s crazy. Steve wants him to keep digging – he needs to find her. Steve adds that both he (whoever he’s talking to) and Ava are a part of his past he wants to forget about. When he disappeared from their little circle of friends – it was no accident. He’s got a new life and he can’t let his past touch his family again. Stephanie and Kayla come out of the bedroom. Steve has a surprise for her – chips and spicy salsa. Stephanie laughs – she’s way ahead of him – she’s the great predictor of all Moms’ cravings. Steve kisses Kayla – he bets Stephanie didn’t see that coming. The argument about Kayla getting rest continues. She tells him that his being difficult isn’t helping her relax. She suggests they just sit on the couch together. Some cute kisses and banter follows. Stephanie is going to head out – Steve says no, don’t go. Stephanie says why not. Stephanie asks if it has anything to do with what they were talking about earlier. Kayla wants to know what they were talking about. Steve says they were just talking about how they were going to look after her. Stephanie tells them she’s heading out to the Theta house. Steve asks if she’s going straight there – he just wants to know in case her momma needs her. Stephanie tells her mom to call on her cell if she needs her. She really likes that the two of them are so into each other but sometimes it’s a little embarrassing but she loves them both more than they’ll ever know. She leaves. Steve and Kayla talk and exchange kisses.
DiMera mansion: John is going through Stefano’s papers when Marlena arrives. She says the door was open. He knew she was coming – he did phone her. He’s been going through his half-brother’s papers. It’s fascinating. So far it all seems legitimate – he hasn’t got to the good stuff yet. He wants to see Stefano – can she get him in to see him. With Stefano being in a catatonic state Marlena doesn’t see what John thinks he has to gain by seeing him. For starts Stefano’s his half brother. Marlena doesn’t want to think about that. John states it’s the real deal – that sick, twisted bastard is my family. Marlena says they both know that Stefano didn’t know that or that Colleen was his mother. John guesses that God does have a sense of humour. Marlena wonders how Stefano would react to that news. John doesn’t know but he wants to be the one to tell him – it could be fun.
Marlena doesn’t want to see him – John says just get me in then. Marlena says no – they have no idea how he’ll react to seeing Stefano. John says it might stir up something in his subconscious. Marlena thinks that anything that helps get his memory back is worth the risk even seeing Stefano. The doorbell rings. It’s Abe. John and he have unfinished business – he pulls out his badge – police business. As far as the Salem PD is concerned John was never released from protective custody. John says they were just leaving. Abe won’t let him go. Abe reminds Marlena he hasn’t forgotten that she snuck John out of the hospital while he was in custody. Marlena says he was never officially charged with a crime. Abe says John was being held for questioning. John says that was stupid considering I have no memory so I couldn’t answer your questions. Abe still thinks he’s dangerous. Marlena says why – because you and Roman believe Stefano programmed him to be a cold-blooded killing machine. John is not Stefano’s soldier anymore. She doesn’t believe he’s dangerous. John tells Abe that he can’t hold someone for a crime that hasn’t been committed as yet. Abe says yes he can – for 72 hours. Marlena says there has to be some way to prove that John isn’t a threat. John can do that – he just has to make a call.
Lexie arrives. John tells her that this policeman wants to put him back in the hospital – tell him it’s not necessary. Lexie says he’s in perfect health – she signed off on his chart. Abe isn’t talking about John’s physical well-being. John says he thinks I’m a mindless, crazed, robotic killer. Marlena throws out her credentials – she can attest that this man is a danger to nobody. Abe doesn’t understand why both of them are defending John. John says because it’s true – you just don’t like me, do you. Abe states that John Black never had a better friend than he but this man in front of me isn’t him. Lexie tells Abe that she doesn’t think that John is anymore like his brother than she is except for some shared biology. Abe says okay but he warns John he’ll be watching him. John says do whatever you want but do it outside of his house– he walks away. Marlena says she’s sorry and follows John. Abe is sorry too.
Ava: Ava sits at a desk and pulls out a framed photo of her with Steve. She makes a call – she needs help. Daddy won’t let her out of here again. He found out I went to see Patch. He’s back in Salem. I need you to find out everything there is to know about him. Daddy is very generous – she can get all the money she wants. Its other things he keeps from her. She needs to know everything about Patch that he can find out – where he’s been since he left her and everything about that bitch he married and who is carrying his child. Ava doesn’t care what Daddy will do if he finds out because if you don’t help me right now I’ll tell him about all the times you helped me before. And you know how Daddy gets when he’s been betrayed. This is very, very simple. Nobody walks away from me. Patch did and now he’s going to have to pay.
Marlena, John & Stefano: Marlena and John enter Stefano’s room. John taunts Stefano. He thought he had it locked – all wrapped up in a nice little package. You know what was your undoing – it was your ego you smug son of a bitch. You thought you were the ultimate puppet master but you made the biggest mistake. The two people you brought together were the last two people on earth that you should have ever brought together - me and my mother. That’s right – Colleen Brady, your nemesis, the woman who broke your father’s heart. She and Santo had a bastard kid – me. I’m their son and I’m your half-brother. Stefano thinks – no, that is impossible. John says how’s that for irony. Your plan almost worked. I came this close to cutting her throat from ear to ear but something stopped me. I don’t know what it was but it was a hell of a lot more powerful than you’re training. Stefano thinks – I still own part of you John. I always will. John tells Stefano that they had a hell of a reunion more for her than him but at least she didn’t die at the hands of her son. Stefano is going to hate this part – she died happy with her family all around her. Stefano on the other hand – well his family turned on him, deserted him and condemned him to remain like this for the rest of his miserable days on earth. John hopes Stefano is enjoying his new life because he’s going to be enjoying his old one. He’s going back to Stefano’s house which is now his house, he’s going to drink his booze, smoke his cigars, eat his food and sleep in his bed. Time will go by and before long it will be as if Stefano never even existed. He and Marlena leave. Stefano rages – damn you, John. Damn you and your whore of a mother.
Sami’s apt: EJ thinks her Grandmother Caroline believes him otherwise she wouldn’t have spoken to him the way she did. Sami thinks that her grandmother is confused. She’s grieving – she doesn’t know what she’s saying. Grandma misses her husband – Sami breaks down. She can’t believe he’s gone. She can’t believe they’ve lost another member of their family. She sobs – EJ holds her close and kisses the top of her head. She stops crying and turns her face into his chest – he strokes her hair and kisses the top of her head again – she looks up into his face and then backs away. She goes to her bedroom, stops and looks at him again than goes inside and closes the door.
Preview: Kimberly to Caroline – Let me drive you to the church, alright? Victor – Actually I was hoping to do that. John to Roman – Well in that case I owe you a hug. He hugs Roman – Marlena smiles. Hope to Lexie – I need for you to tell me the truth. Am I going to lose my husband?

Wednesday Feb 27
St Luke’s – Part 1: Marlena finds Roman in the church. He came early because he wanted to spend a few minutes alone with Pop. She asks if he wants some more time. He says no and asks her to stay. They sit in the pew and admire the picture of Shawn that Caroline had chosen. Roman says as their parents’ age they start to prepare for the inevitable but when it happens it’s still hard. He gets up and goes to the coffin – Marlena joins him. Roman tells his Pop that he’s going to miss him. Marlena hugs him – John walks in and sees the embrace. Marlena didn’t know John was coming. He figured he would pay his respects. From what he understands the man was his uncle. He looks at Roman and says makes us cousins, right. John didn’t mean to interrupt – continue their cuddle party. Marlena thinks he sounds jealous. No – they just looked a little cuddly for a divorced couple. Where’s all the resentment and stuff. Roman says their relationship was never like that – they’ve remained close all these years. John asks – and I didn’t mind. Marlena answers no. You knew that Roman and I were just friends and you were very secure in our relationship. In fact the three of us stayed close. Roman adds that the two of them had problems in the beginning but they worked them out – they were good. John says well in that case I owe you a hug. He hugs Roman – LOL at the look on Marlena’s face.
EJ, Sami, Chloe and Philip are in the church foyer. Sami starts snapping at Chloe for not telling everyone about Brady sooner. EJ tries to calm things down by introducing himself to Chloe. Sami is surprised he didn’t know the world famous opera singer. Philip makes a smart remark about EJ being too busy ruining people’s lives. EJ retorts that he misses their scheming. Philip asks Sami if she’s even talked to his brother lately or is she too preoccupied to care that he’s in prison. Roman joins the fray. Sami tells him that Lucas is upset he can’t be here today – he sends his condolences. Philip expresses his condolences and he and Chloe go inside the chapel. Sami also talked to Will, Carrie, Austin and Eric – they are all sorry they can’t be here today. Roman says they will have a lot of family here today including cousin John. Sami comments – he is different, isn’t he? Roman says oh yeah, he’s different.
Hospital: Shawn, Belle, Chelsea and Hope arrive – Shawn has Bo’s suit. Lexie comes in and tells Bo everything’s set – she cautions him to take it easy. Hope wants to talk to Lexie for a minute. They step outside the room. Lexie tells Hope that’s there no change – his vitals are good. He’s stable for now. Hope wants the truth – is she going to lose her husband. Lexie doesn’t want to speculate on Bo’s chances until she has a diagnosis. They’ve run additional tests including a biopsy – they should have some more information soon. Hope can’t believe they still don’t have a diagnosis – at least if they knew what he had they could form an attack and beat this. She feels helpless. Lexie knows – but Hope being there goes a long way to helping in his recovery. Hope asks if he’s strong enough to attend the service. Lexie would prefer he remain in the hospital but this is his father’s funeral. She’ll be there but make sure Bo doesn’t exert himself and get him back here as soon as possible.
Brady pub: Max, Stephanie, Steve and Kayla are there setting up the pub. Caroline joins them. Kayla insists that Caroline have something to eat – Stephanie goes to make her some oatmeal. Caroline says that Frankie called – he’s sorry that he couldn’t make it. Steve says but you got all of us. He tells her if she needs anything they’re right here for her. Caroline breaks down – she doesn’t know if she can make it through the day. Kayla says of course you can because we are all going to be here for you. Kim says, Kay is right, Ma. You have the love and support of your family. We’re going to get through this together. Hugs and kisses are exchanged all around. Kim congratulates Kayla and Steve on baby #2. Where’s baby #1. Stephanie comes from the kitchen – hugs. She asks where Jeannie and Andrew are. They’re in London with their father – they couldn’t get a flight out. Max wants to know if Shane and ISA have found out who sabotaged the plane because that person is responsible for Pop’s death. Kim says no they haven’t. Caroline tells Max not to think about that today – think about celebrating your papa’s life. He would be so pleased to know his family came together to celebrate his memory. Kim asks if Bo is going to be able to make it. Kayla says he’s weak but he insists on coming. She hopes it isn’t too much for him.
Steve suggests that it’s time to get to the church. Kim has a rental – she offers to drive her mom to the church. Victor says he was hoping to do that. Kim tells the rest to go ahead – she’ll make sure Ma gets to the church. After they all leave Kim asks Victor why he’s here. He caused this family so much heartache – she finds it odd that he wants to be a source of comfort now. Caroline tells her it’s all in the past. Victor says he’s not proud of the things he did to her parents and her but that’s all behind them now. He made peace with Shawn and Caroline. Kim is glad to hear that but she still doesn’t think it’s appropriate from him to take her mother to … Caroline interrupts and tells that she’ll meet her at the church. Kim tells Victor that her mother just lost the love of her life. She’s really vulnerable right now and she’d appreciate it if Victor wouldn’t take advantage of that. Victor says he cares very deeply for her mother – he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her. Kim says good or you’ll have me to answer to. She leaves. Victor tells Caroline that he’s glad she has so many people around her to protect her. Victor asks if he should bring the car around. She appreciates the offer but she doesn’t think it’s appropriate to go to her husband’s funeral with him. People will talk. Victor says all three of us were very good friends at one time. After all that they meant to each other he doesn’t think Shawn would mind if he escorted her to the service. Caroline agrees. She thinks that Shawn is looking down from heaven grateful just as she’s grateful that he’s here for her but she’s going to get to her husband’s funeral on her own. She’s going to walk. She won’t be alone. Shawn will be at her side. They are going to share one last walk before she has to say goodbye.
St Luke’s – Part 2: Roman and Bo sit together in the front pew. Bo can’t imagine life without him. Roman knows – he left a big hole in the family. Bo says he still went to Pop for advice – he had an answer for everything. Roman says he was a wise man but you can come to me for advice. Bo chuckles – yeah right. Roman insists that he’s been known to offer a wise word or two. Bo is also going to miss how Pop made people laugh – he always had a joke or a funny story for every occasion. Roman agrees and again, Bo can come to him for that too. Bo says your jokes aren’t funny. Roman gets the point – Pop can’t be replaced but he insists he’s funny. Bo says no you’re not. Roman says maybe not right now but in the past he’s been known to be hysterical. Bo says you don’t have a funny bone in your body – your funny bone isn’t even funny. Hope comes up and hugs Roman – she’s so sorry. She tells Bo that she just spoke to Doug and Julie. Ciara went down for a nap but they definitely have their hands full with all those kids. She wants to know what they were arguing about. Bo says they weren’t – they’re just missing Pop.
Outside the church Max, Stephanie, Kayla, Steve, Shawn and Belle congregate. Kayla goes inside. Steve tells the rest to go inside. Shawn says they’re waiting for grandma. Steve will wait. The rest go in. Steve sees Ava and takes off after her. As he’s walking back to the church he runs into Abe and Lexie. Lexie asks how he is. His ribs hurt – he’ll be fine. He asks Abe if he can talk to him later one on one– he has a favour to ask. Abe says sure, he’d be glad to help. They go inside. Maggie hugs Marlena and asks how things are going with John. Marlena answers – pretty strange. Maggie asks – he doesn’t remember your life together at all. Marlena says no, what’s more concerning is that he doesn’t care to remember. Sami adds that what he seems to care most about now is the DiMera money and power. Maggie asks if Marlena thinks they’ll ever get the John that they knew back. Marlena sees glimpses of him but they’re fleeting – he always seems to be just out of reach. Kim tells Roman it’s so good to see him. She then asks Bo how he’s doing. Bo wants to know who told her he was sick – it was probably Kay – she has a big mouth. Kayla says it wasn’t her. Why does everyone in this family think she’s the blabbermouth? Steve teases – you can’t blame them – you’re kind of a chatterbox. Roman admits it was him. Bo insists he’s fine – he’s just faking this to get attention. Hope tells him he’s going right back to the hospital after the wake. Bo tells her she’s no fun. Kim tells Bo he’s lucky to have a wife that puts up with him. Kayla asks where Mom is. Kayla says she left her with Victor. She insisted. Kim goes to the coffin. Roman joins her and takes her hand. Then Kayla goes and stands next to Roman and they join hands. Bo looks at Hope and then gets up and goes to the coffin – he takes Kayla’s hand.
Nick arrives and joins Chelsea, Max and Stephanie. EJ and Sami are still standing at the back of the church. EJ says even from back here you can see how much her family cares for each other. Sami says they may not always get along but they are a family. EJ tells her that her grandfather did a good job raising his family. It’s very different than what his father did. He’d like to hope that he could do as well as Shawn. Sami excuses herself – she’s going to call and check on the twins. Victor enters the church and sits behind Philip and Chloe. Roman and Kim notice that Caroline isn’t with Victor. Caroline enters. She sees EJ – she’s glad he made it. EJ says a promise is a promise. He wasn’t about to let her down. Caroline thanks him. Sami watches the exchange. EJ escorts Caroline to the front pew. She sits between Bo and Roman.
Eulogies: Roman – He thanks everyone for coming. Pop was real big on the more the merrier. He’s going to try and do justice to his dad but he’s also going to try and make this fairly short and sweet because that is what Pop would want. He’d want us to get done here and over to the pub for the fun stuff. Pop is going to want us to raise at least a couple of pints to his memory and if that is what Pop wants then that’s what he’s got to make himself do. With that in mind and also the fact that a few other family members want to speak I just want to say this. I am very very honoured that Pop was my father. He taught me a lot. Three things in particular come to mind. He taught me about hard work. We didn’t have a whole lot growing up but Pop always managed to put food on the table. He was a tough sucker. He worked long long hours at that junk yard of his and the fish market. That’s why I was so glad when he was finally able to realise his dream and open his own Irish pub. And I have John Black to thank for that. John Black put up the money to make that happen. Thank you John. Second thing Pop taught me was honesty. He wanted all of his kids to do the right thing no matter how hard it was. And the third thing Pop taught me – he taught me about love. He and my mom had an incredible marriage. Did they have some rough spots? You bet they did but they always, always came out stronger. Pop may be gone from us physically but I will guaranty you this, his spirit will live on and on through Bo, Kimberly, Kayla, Max, me, his entire family. Hard work, honesty, love. That will be his legacy. And I really only have one more thing to say and that is thank you Pop. Thank you for everything. I love you.
Kimberly – It’s true, my Pop was known for his temper and even though he’d get angry from time to time I soon realised it was only because he cared so much. I wish that I had been here more these past few years. I wish I had a chance to say goodbye and I hope that he knew how much I appreciate him and how much I loved him and no matter how far apart we are he will always be in my heart.
Kayla – My pop liked to fish and when I was little he would take me out with him. It was such a special time for me because I had his undivided attention and with four kids in the family that was hard to come by. It gave us a chance to talk and a chance for him to give me advice. As I got older the trips became less frequent but his advice never stopped. And believe me he had a lot to say about my relationship with Steve. One of those last fishing trips took place just before my wedding to Steve. (Flashback). My father gave me strength to be the woman I am today. He always told me how proud he was of me. I hope he knows how proud I was of him. She goes to the casket and kisses it. I love you Pop and I’ll miss you.
Bo – Pop wasn’t my biological father but he was my Pop in every other way and I didn’t make it easy on him. Growing up we didn’t get along mostly because I was a big pain in the keister like he would say. But he never gave up on me no matter how much I messed up or how many times the cops called our house because of me. He was always there for me even after he found out I wasn’t his blood. He still loved me as if I was his own and that’s a sign of a great man. He had a generous heart, a heart full of love for Ma, us kids, adopted kids, grandkids, great grandkids. He liked nothing more than to have an excuse to party with the family. (Flashback). He was a hero. He lived as one and he died as one. He not only saved my life on that plane but a thousand times – he grimaces in pain and Hope and Roman stand up – Bo says it’s okay. He goes to the casket. I’ll never forget what you did Pop – what you gave me. I love you.
The last segment is Chloe singing a beautiful hymn as the mourners come to the casket and say goodbye. They each place something on top of the casket like a single rose, a harmonica, a flask, a bible, a rosary and so on. After they are all done Caroline goes to the casket (flashback). She says ‘May the earth rest easy over you when you lay under it. May the earth rest so easy that your spirit will up from under it, up and off on it’s way to God. Goodbye Shawn. I will love you forever.’
Preview: Anna (on the phone) – DiMera Advertising? Well DiMera Advertising stinks. Roman (with Kim at his side) raising a glass – To Pop. The others respond. Hope to Steve (who’s holding on to Bo) – Steve, I need to get him to the hospital right away. Steve – Get the car, I’ll bring him out.

Thursday Feb 28
The wake starts off kind of slow as everyone comments about how it's supposed to be a happy event but they're all feeling sad. Finally Kimberly gets up and makes a great speech. She lists off all the wonderful qualities of her father including some of his faults (but she does it in a very loving way). Roman joins in her and mentions how their father's Irish toasts. He starts one and other people join in and give a line or two of the toast (this part is very well done).
Hope asks Steve to stay near because Bo isn't doing so well. Shortly after the first speech and toast Hope insists on taking Bo back to the hospital. She goes to get the car and Steve helps Bo to the door. He says his goodbye to Kim - she wants to cancel her flight - he talks her out of it. Ava is skulking around outside. Bo wants Hope to stay and take care of his mother - Steve will take him to the hospital. They leave - Ava approaches Hope. She had seen Hope and Steve hug - she then asks Hope if she loves Steve Johnson. Hope says yes and wants to know who she is. Ava walks away.
Steve sits with Bo - he'll stay until Bo's doctor gets there. Bo insists he go back to the pub to be Kayla - she needs him. Steve tells the nurse to take good care of Bo. She says she's just going into his room to hook the monitors to him. She discovers that he's in cardiac arrest. Lexie comes rushing into the room. She gets his heart started again. Hope, Shawn and Chelsea arrive. Lexie tells them they got the test results back. Bo's pancreas is shutting down little by little - if it shuts down completely, he will die.
Back at the pub Steve asks Abe to run the name Ava Vitali through the police computers as a favour to him. Abe agrees. Max gives a speech followed by an Irish toast. Several more toasts follow. Caroline gives the last one.
Tony arrives at his flourishing advertising company - compliments his secretary on her new dress. He goes inside and calls someone - they need to hire more people. Anna arrives at work - her boss calls - has she brought any clients in yet. She says she just got there - she'd thought she'd clean the mess off her desk. He tells her if she doesn't get any clients he's going to have to close shop. Anna makes calls - all their formere clients are now with DiMera Advertising. She decides to pay Tony a visit. She goes to his office - he goes to hers with flowers. Anna talks to Tony's secretary and makes Tony sound like a boss that expects sexual favours from his female employees - she warns that he gets bored very quickly. Tony leaves Anna a note asking her to come and work for him. Tony returns to find his secretary packing. She asks him when he was going to give her the birth control talk. (Something Anna told her). Tony is at a loss - he would have thought she would have gotten that in the 6th grade. The secretary calls him a pervert and leaves. Tony goes to Anna's office - he doesn't say a word ... Anna starts saying she may have gone to far ... Tony kisses her.

Stefano’s room – Part 1: Anna and Tony come in – Anna says being there gives her the creeps. It seems like he’s staring at her. Tony says he can’t see anything. Tony says can you hear me father. Stefano thinks – yes but I can’t tell you. Tony says he should feel something for him but he doesn’t. He wonders if Stefano has any regrets. Stefano flashes back to a scene with soldier John. Tony wonders if they’ll ever know the true extent of his evil. Tony wonders what his plans were for John’s future. Stefano says what future – he’s a man without a past, a man without a personality, without any feelings and he will never get them back because he doesn’t know how. Tony doesn’t know what he hoped to accomplish by coming here again. Maybe it was to reassure himself that he could never hurt anyone again. Goodbye father. He leaves. Stefano has a flashback to talking about the disk that holds all of John’s memories – his entire life. Outside of Stefano’s room Anna is annoyed that Tony had to talk to his father’s doctor. Tony wanted the long term prognosis. His cell rings. John wants him to come to the mansion – Anna will go with him.
DiMera mansion – Part 1: Marlena was happy to see John at the service but surprised that he asked her to come to the mansion. John rattles on about the live in cook and the good coffee. He tells her that he’s going through Stefano’s finances. Marlena wishes he would give it all away – its blood money. He tells her that is not going to happen. He wants her help – some things don’t make sense to him. Marlena refuses. He offers her 10% of the amount if she finds some hidden bank accounts or other assets. She wouldn’t do it for 10 times that. John says that would be a 100% - you’d be foolish to turn it down. The doorbell rings. He’s expecting Stefano’s lawyer. It’s Belle and Claire – Claire says Hi Pop Pop. Belle asks if they can come in. John informs her he’s busy. Claire says please so John says sure. John tells Claire he was doing paperwork and he needs an assistant. He sits her at the desk and gives her a pen and paper. Claire starts scribbling away so John turns his attention to Belle. Why did she come? They just lost Grandpa Shawn and that got her thinking about John and how important he is to her John thinks that would make a fine greeting card. He’s busy – maybe he can free up some family time on Saturday. Marlena tells John that was mean. She comforts Belle – he’s not himself. John goes back to Claire and asks if she’s ready to go home. Claire says no. Belle has a picture – Claire wanted to give it to John – it’s her favourite picture of the two of them. John says thanks kid. Claire picks up a disk – what’s this?
John looks at – it’s not labelled – it must be blank. He throws it back down on the desk. He asks again if she’s ready to go home – she shakes her head no. He tells her she can come back some other time. Claire says – you promise. John promises. Belle says what do you say we come back on Saturday. The doorbell rings – John says time to go work. It’s Richard Griffin – Stefano’s lawyer. He has some very interesting news about Stefano’s estate. John asks about the money – its okay he can talk in front of the others – their family at least that’s what they tell him. Mr. Griffin notices that John has been going through Stefano’s papers. He’s not surprised that John is having trouble making sense out of them – some of Stefano’s holdings are complicated. Marlena asks if he means illegal. Mr. Griffin wouldn’t know about that. Stefano had lawyers all over the world and they all handled different things for him – he doesn’t know what they did. He handled personal matters for Stefano – he’s the executor of the estate. Marlena says you must know about all his holdings. The lawyer says no – as you’ll see by the documents he left – Stefano was quite specific yet deliberately vague. He thinks the other family members should be here to hear it. John will call them.
Sami’s apt: Sami lies down on the couch to have a nap – there’s a knock on the door. It’s EJ. She tells him that Johnny is sleeping – he was up until 4am. EJ tells her she should have called him to help. She can manage – she hints that she would like to take a nap. EJ wants to talk about what happened last night – she was grieving the loss of her grandfather – she needed support – there’s nothing wrong with that. All Sami wants to talk about is how quickly they can get an annulment. EJ tells Sami she’s pushing him away because she’s been letting him in. Sami tells him to come in – she doesn’t want the neighbours knowing their business. With Stefano being out of commission there’s no need to go on pretending. EJ has enjoyed playing house with her – he’s enjoyed helping her with the twins.. Sami says its one thing to let him help her because he Johnny’s father but another to go on pretending they’re husband and wife. EJ offers to draw up the papers. Sami wants Mickey to do it. He doesn’t think they need to involve a lawyer. The twins start crying. EJ offers to help her.
The twins are fed and changed and back to sleep. EJ assures Sami that annulments are very straightforward – he can draw up the papers. Sami asks him what makes him think he do the paperwork for the annulment. He repeats that it’s cut and dried. There’s a knock on her door. It’s a delivery man looking for her neighbour – EJ DiMera – he has a certified letter for him. EJ announces his presence and takes the letter. Sami asks him if he’s going to open it. He folds it and puts it in his back pocket – it’s probably about his trust – he gets letters all the time. Sami wants him to explain to her again why she should trust him to do her annulment. EJ reminds her that he went to law school before he started racing cars. He just has to file the documents properly and get the signatures notarized. Sami agrees but she still wants Mickey to look them over. EJ says he’ll get started. EJ gets a call just as he’s leaving. That was John – he has to go down to the mansion. He asks Sami if she wants to come. She’ll get a babysitter.
Hospital: Bo wakes up – good news – he made it through the night. Hope says he’ll continue doing that – they have the rest of their lives together. In the waiting room Chelsea and Shawn talk. They’re glad they don’t have to go through this alone. Shawn wishes they could have be closer – more of a brother and sister. Chelsea says that’s hard to do when you don’t grow up together. Shawn mentions there’s no change – Dad’s pancreas is shutting down. Victor overhears this and jumps to the conclusion that Bo has pancreatic cancer. Lexie says no – there were no malignant cells. Victor says no sign of cancer is a good thing. Inside Bo’s room he asks Hope if the test results have come back. They have. In the waiting room Victor demands to know what’s happening with Bo. Lexie says his pancreas is shutting down – they don’t know what’s wrong but they need to find out soon. Bo asks Hope – how long do I have. Hope doesn’t answer. Bo says this is why he wanted Pop to take the oxygen – there’s a good chance he’s going to die. Hope says you are not going to die – don’t start with her. Bo says she wins this round. Victor wants to know what kind of incompetent organization they are running here. Lexie tells him they are doing everything they can. Victor says obviously it’s not enough. She may be able to sit back and watch Bo die like Isabella did but he isn’t. He’ll bring in every damn expert in the world if he has to but he will not lose Bo. Caroline says neither will I.
Hope tells Bo he’s going to fight this and beat it and don’t even argue with her. He’s weak – she can take him. Caroline asks Lexie how is he. Lexie says not good – his pancreas is failing. They’re working on it. Victor promises Caroline that he will not let their son die. Caroline tells Victor that he’s not God and it seems like Bo’s life is in God’s hands now. Chelsea starts snivelling. Shawn gives her a pep talk – Lexie will save him. Chelsea snivels – what if she doesn’t – what if she loses him too. Caroline and Victor come in to see Bo. Bo starts sitting up – Caroline tells him to rest. Bo isn’t going to waste the rest of his time on earth resting. Caroline doesn’t want to hear him talk like that again. In the waiting room Chelsea continues her snivelling – she always loses everyone she loves. She just started believing that her dad loved her – she just doesn’t want him to leave her like everyone else has. Shawn tells her that Dad needs all their support. She’s a Brady that means never giving up or giving in. They have to be strong for Dad – his family is the only thing that will get him through this.
Bo tells his mom that he’s in bad shape - they have to face it. Caroline says face it but to say we can no nothing about it – no. Lexie reiterates that Bo doesn’t have cancer. Hope has done research on pancreas disease and Bo doesn’t drink excessively or have diabetes. Lexie says perhaps it’s genetic. Whatever Bo has it’s affecting the same gland as Isabella’s cancer indicating that his family may have a higher possibility of the pancreas being susceptible to infection or disease. She mentions the motorcycle accident Bo had recently. Even though the tests showed no internal injuries his body still went through a high degree of trauma. If his pancreas was already genetically weak it would most likely have an adverse reaction. If they knew the cause they could determine a course of treatment. If they can’t find the cause his pancreas will continue to lose function and eventually shut down. Bo asks how long that will take. Caroline tells him it will take long enough for Lexie and the other doctors to figure out why this is happening and stop it. Bo says – so I have a chance of beating this. Lexie says yes – just hang in until they isolate and identify what’s doing this. Victor asks – you’re convinced that you can do this. Lexie tells him there are no guarantees. Victor asks if she would mind if he got other opinions. No she wouldn’t mind - the more doctors working on this the better. Chelsea and Shawn come into the room. Chelsea hugs Bo and says they will all help him beat this.
DiMera mansion – Part 2: They’re all there now – Tony asks where Alexandra is. John says she’s busy at the hospital. Mr. Griffin informs them that John wanted him to go through the distribution of Stefano’s estate with all of them. EJ reminds them that Stefano is not dead. Mr. Griffin says no but he’s permanently incapacitated and they’ve all decided to discontinue further testing, correct. Tony says yes – more testing wouldn’t make a difference. John says why spend good money on more doctors when you could put it in your pocket. Tony says that is not remotely what they were thinking – they were thinking that the world would be a better place without his father in it. Mr. Griffin says that Stefano’s empire is vast and extremely complicated and he’s only privy to a small part of it but he can tell them it will take a considerable amount of time and energy to run – it’s a responsibility that can only be assumed by a loyal family member. EJ is assuming that his father went over all this in his will. Mr. Griffin says as you pointed out he’s not dead and prior to his incapacitation he did not give power of attorney to anyone. Sami tells him to just cut to the chase. Mr. Griffin says as executor it’s up to him to appoint the person most capable of carrying on Stefano’s legacy. EJ asks which one of them gets that dubious honour.
Anna says Stefano was loaded so who gets to play with all that money. The lawyer says that the will serves as an accurate guideline to Stefano’s wishes. John wants to know who gets it. The lawyer said Stefano took his daughter out of the will some time ago and he was furious at both Tony and Elvis because of some recent behaviour he didn’t approve of – the last time he changed his will he cut the both of them completely out of it. The only change he added was a generous trust for his grandson Giovanni. Sami doesn’t want her son to have any of his filthy money. The lawyer tells her it’s in trust until he’s 21 – he can decide for himself at that time if he wants it. EJ says the other trusts are still active, right. The lawyer says no – they were all cancelled. EJ thought they had been re-instated. The lawyer says apparently he lied to you. John is paying by the hour – who gets the money. The lawyer says as far as he knows Stefano has only one other surviving blood relative. John smiles – he knew this was his lucky day. EJ wants to know how this is possible – Stefano had no idea John was his half-brother. EJ also knows for a fact that John is the last man his father would want to have control of his money. The lawyer says he’s the executor. Stefano made it very clear to him who he didn’t want to be in charge of his money and estate. He decided that John was entitled by default. Anna wants to know how much they’re talking about. Mr. Griffin says just what he knows about – in the tens of millions. John says – there’s my new jet. Marlena says you’re not thinking about keeping that money are you?
John says if she thinks he shouldn’t keep all that money as a shrink he thinks she’s working the wrong side of the couch. Marlena is disappointed in him. John tells her to lower her expectations and she’ll never be disappointed. He asks the lawyer what he has to do. The lawyer will send some papers over for him to sign. There are also some sealed envelopes he was holding for Stefano. He can only assume that they contain names of other lawyers to contact or lists of other holdings. John thanks him – the lawyer leaves. Tony and Anna leave. John tells Sami the kid got lucky. He’ll send the papers with the amount and terms of the trust over to her. John then says to EJ – don’t worry about it nephew, he’s sure the old man would have cut him out eventually – it seems he upset him pretty good. EJ says he did. He thinks his biggest mistake was letting Marlena know that he (John) was alive and telling her where she could find him. You can thank me for that later. Sami, EJ, Belle and Claire leave. Marlena says the man she knew would never have taken Stefano’s money. John asks if he would have given it away – there’s nothing funny about that. Marlena says there has to be a way to reach him – to get John back. John doesn’t think so – he likes the man he is. John invites Marlena to stay for dinner to celebrate. She says no and leaves.
Stefano’s room – Part 2: Stefano has a flashback of John’s visit and the things John told him about taking over his life. He laughs. Oh John, John, John. You’ll never know how close you are to finding your true identity and regaining the life I took from you. And the new life that you are pursuing will be almost unbearable for your loved ones to observe. So much so that eventually they may prefer that you had stayed dead and never come back to them at all. More evil laughter follows.
Preview: Philip to Chloe – What’s this favour? I can’t imagine it’s any bigger than what I’ve already done for you. Chloe – It is bigger. Stephanie to Chelsea – What does that mean? Chelsea – He could die Stephanie if they can’t do something about it quick. Abe to Steve – Then why didn’t she just kill you?
