Chez Rouge Part 1: Lucas tells Kate that he can't find Chloe. She suggests calling but he says he's already called many times; her cell goes straight to voice mail. Kate wonders where Daniel is; it's not like him to not call and tell her if he is held up at the hospital. She calls him but just gets his voice mail. Maggie comes along and asks where Chloe and Daniel are. Kate and Lucas don't know. Kate decides to call the hospital to see if he is there.

Melanie moves closer to Philip just as Stephanie returns. Melanie prattles on about Stephanie making the guy pay for staining her dress. Stephanie doesn't see why; after all it was an accident, wasn't it? She asks if she missed something between the two of them. Philip says she did. Stephanie asks; so I did miss you kissing Melanie? Philip says no you missed this. He kisses her. As he's nuzzling her neck wishing her a happy New Year Stephanie mouths 'Happy New Year' to Melanie. Melanie makes a couple of smart remarks about them and then toasts to the three of them working together at Titan; it will be fun, fun, fun. She takes off.


Safe house: Sami is peeking out the window watching the fireworks display. She is not happy when Rafe makes her get away from the window. He has a couple of glasses of cider to make a toast. Sami doesn't want to make a toast and to illustrate her point she smashes the glass against the wall. Rafe cleans up the mess. Sami apologises. Rafe says it's his fault; he should have used plastic glasses. He understands that it's hard for her to be away from her family on New Year's Eve. Sami feels it must be the same for him. Doesn't he miss his family; wouldn't he be with them if he wasn't here. Rafe says no; he would be working. He volunteers to work all the holidays. Sami thinks that is sad. Rafe shrugs; it is what it is. Rafe knows what she's doing; she's pumping him for personal information. Sami insists she isn't as she keeps asking him personal questions. He avoids the questions. Sami says he's doing that because he's a man. Men think its 'girly' to talk about emotions, their feelings and family. She thinks that's why men die at an earlier age then women. All those bottled up emotions end up causing high blood pressure or something. Rafe says his blood pressure is actually low. Sami doesn't understand how he can be so ... Rafe fills in the word 'focused'. Sami says one-track minded.

Rafe thinks that she is his equal when it comes to being focused and one-track minded; in fact she might be better than him. He can give an example if she wants. Sami thought they weren't going to talk about Sister Theresa or the convent. He made it clear that it's over and done with so it is. She goes on about him being psychic; why doesn't he tell her what her Plan B is. Rafe answers that she doesn't have one yet but he feels she'll come up with one. He says you're still trying to find a way around me, aren't you? Sami doesn't answer; she takes out to the washroom to change into p.j's. They get ready for bed. Sami takes the bed, Rafe the couch. After they're settled in Rafe answers a question Sami had asked him earlier, 'no he isn't sorry that he's here on New Year's Eve.' Sami tosses and turns and sighs loudly. Rafe turns on the lamp; having trouble sleeping? She's worried about Allie and Johnny and she's worried about EJ.


DiMera mansion Part 1: Brady arrives for the party. EJ tells him it's cancelled. Brady asks if Nicole is there. She isn't and he doesn't know where she is. EJ tries calling Nicole again; her cell goes straight to voice mail. Brady wonders why Nicole would take off like that. EJ declares that it is his fault she left. He thinks she's angry at him because he had to go into the office to take a conference call. The phone rings. It's Dr. Baker looking for Nicole. EJ wants to know what is wrong; why is he calling at this hour. Dr. Baker covers by saying he was in delivery all night. He makes a habit of returning his calls and Nicole was at the top of the list because she called at least 30 times. He tells EJ he was exaggerating the number; just tell her he returned her call and hangs up. Brady leaves. Outside the house he wonders why Dr. Baker was calling Nicole.


Nicoles car: She tries her cell; no service. She rants. She sees headlights. Someone comes to the car. She starts prattling on and on ... she needs a ride ... she then realises its Brady standing there. Brady guesses she's on her way to Dr. Baker's clinic. Brady is in the car with her now. She wants to know how he found her. He tells her that Dr. Baker phoned EJ while he was there. The first thing Nicole wants to know is if Dr. Baker told EJ the truth. As far as Brady knows he didn't. He wants to know what she's up to. She tells him that Dr. Baker is a baby broker. He called to tell her there's a woman willing to give her baby to her. He has to take her to the clinic.


Waterfront: Just as Daniel and Chloe are going to kiss his cell rings. He puts her down and steadies her; Chloe doesn't want him touching her. He checks his phone; it was Kate calling. She probably was wondering where he was. Chloe thinks Lucas will be worried. At first Dan is going to call Kate but then they decide to go to the hospital and call from there.

Philip asks Stephanie if Melanie got to her. Stephanie insists that she doesn't think of Melanie; she doesn't like Melanie; Melanie means nothing to her but she wonders why Philip falls for her games. Philip insists he didn't. She wonders why he let her kiss him then. Philip says she didn't ... she was just whispering in my ear trying to prove a point. Stephanie wonders if Philip kissing her wasn't done to prove a point to Melanie. Philip says it was just a kiss. Stephanie asks why it was so intense then. Philip dances around that for a bit but then admits that at first he may have kissed her to prove a point to Melanie but as soon as he started kissing her he forgot about everything else except her. The kiss wasn't the same for Stephanie because she felt he was kissing her to make a point to Melanie and because he admitted that he did that; she was right. But she has a way to make the kiss right ... they can do it again. They kiss.


Hospital: Kate and Lucas arrive at the hospital. Daniel tells them the x-rays are back; it's just a sprain. Lucas goes in the exam room. Kate tells Dan that he's a lifesaver once again. It's just so lucky for Chloe that he was on the pier. She asks him to take her back to the mansion. Chloe tells Lucas he's marrying a klutz. She is sorry for ruining their first New Year's Eve together.


Clinic: Nicole tells Brady that she has to go in and see Dr. Baker alone. She goes into his office. He tells her it's too late. The woman waited and Nicole never showed up. She changed her mind and went home. Nicole threatens and yells but Dr. Baker tells it's not happening and walks out. Brady comes in and Nicole tells him what happened. She starts crying, feeling sorry for herself; she can't do this anymore. She has to tell EJ the truth even though she'll lose him.


Kiriakis mansion: Kate called ahead to have Henderson pull out a bottle of their best champagne. She wants to make a toast to Daniel for never giving up on her. Daniel toasts her because without her tenaciousness he wouldn't have been able to help her. Kate wishes she could ask him to stay. It would be nice to sleep next to him but she thinks it would be awkward because she her treatments she would feel desire for him. He tells her he understands; those feelings will come back.


Chez Rouge Part 2: Lucas brings Chloe back so they can celebrate the New Year together. Maggie left the place open just for him. She apologises again. She's so sorry she missed the countdown and the kiss. Lucas does the countdown; they kiss.


DiMera mansion Part 2: Nicole comes in and apologises for making him worry. She blames her craziness on her pregnancy. She wants to tell him the truth. EJ claims he already knows. She gave him the gift of love and he took it for granted. He moved her into his home with his family and she never complained; she didn't judge him for being a DiMera. She did all this for their baby. He shouldn't have gone to the office and left her alone on New Year's Eve. Nicole understands. She tells him that all she ever wanted was for them to be a family and she knows that can never be now. EJ ignores that and says he was terrified when he didn't know where she was so he knows this is right. He gets on his knee and proposes. Nicole is thrilled. She says yes.


Titan: Melanie walks around moping because obviously the delusional girl thought she'd end up with Philip.

Brady Pub: Philip greets Bo and tells him that he was missed at Chez Rouge. Bo explains that with the new job being so hectic they celebrated at home. He heard Philip celebrated with Stephanie; did he have a good time. Philip says they did. He notices Bos expression and asks if he has a problem with him dating Stephanie. You think Im not right for her? Bo answers, you tell me. Bo goes on to say that he is his brother and he loves him like one but Stephanie is family also. Shes one of the sweetest women he knows. He warns Philip to not mess with her or break her heart; be nice to her. Philip says this is about Belle, isnt it. Bo shrugs; among others. Philip gets defensive. Bo says Belle isnt the only one hes hurt over the years. Hes not here to judge. He tells Philip to be good to Stephanie and to himself. Bo leaves and Philip calls Stephanie and asks her to meet him at his place in ten minutes.


Titan: Melanie sees Stephanie alone and starts taunting her about losing Philip already. Stephanie explains she just came to pick up her PDA. Melanie goes on about Stephanie thinking that she had Philip all wrapped up in a big shiny bow after that kiss but since she cant find him the next morning it looks like her happily ever after isnt going to happen. Stephanie doesnt say anything so Melanie assumes that shes too embarrassed to talk about it so she continues with her taunting; it must be tough going from public displays of affection to the dumpster. Stephanie tells Melanie shes right. She cant believe shes confiding in her but shes not handling it very well especially after what happened with Max. Its really painful. Melanie gleefully says so you and Philip broke up; its over? Stephanie starts laughing. She tells Melanie she knows what shes doing so give it up. Stephanie knows that Melanie hates her and hates that she is with Philip because what Melanie really wants is Philip for herself. Melanie denies it but Stephanie tells her to save it. Shes going to have to start lying to herself because no one else is listening. She adds that she and Philip had an amazing New Years together. If she wants to take a shot at Philip shes going to have to get past her first and thats not going to happen. Melanie declares that deep down Philip is ruined inside. His soul has been damaged. Hes not nice and sweet like her brother Max. Philip is going to chew her up and spit her out. After Stephanie talks to Philip she leaves.


DiMera mansion Part 1: EJ knocks on Nicoles door. She tells him he made her the happiest woman in the world. EJ wants to know why she didnt tell him her car broke down. The garage just called. Why didnt she tell him and where was she? Nicole declares that when youre pregnant and unwed and the man you love proposes you forget about a lot of things. EJ knows shes leaving something out. He wants her to be honest with her. He suggests they go for a walk to talk so father doesnt interrupt them.


Safe house: Sami is in bed; every time she closes her eyes she sees EJ walking away from her, trying to talk to her. Rafe moans. Sami rushes over. OMG Rafe, whats happening? Sami brings a cold compress. She tries to take his temperature but throws the thermometer away declaring that its useless. He has a temperature of a 1000 degrees. Shes going to call an ambulance. Rafe takes the cell phone from her; she cant. Rafe says its too dangerous. He tries to convince her hes feeling better. He tries to get up but cant. Sami reminds him that he called a doctor for her when she needed one. That was different. Sami argues that he has to see a doctor; hes burning up. Rafe refuses. Sami says they can try the old-fashioned way first but he has no choice. Sami gets him to take some aspirin. Now he has to take a bath. Rafe doesnt want to. She reminds him that hes the one that doesnt want to see a doctor. They have to get his body temperature down and the only way to do that is with a sponge death. She doesnt want him to leave her there all by herself and that will happen if something happens to him. So please try this. Rafe agrees. Sami gives him a sponge bath. She checks his forehead. She thinks the fever broke. He thanks her. Sami checks on a sleeping Rafe. She sees his cell phone and tries to get it out of his hand but he tightens his grip on it.


Hospital: Lexie explains to Mark about the changes in Theos diet before Mark takes him for therapy. Stefano calls Lexie; he has a Christmas gift for Theo. Can she bring him over? Lexie says no. Stefano claims that Theo loves him and he loves Theo; do not destroy that. Lexie has to go; she hangs up. Mark returns Theo; he seems agitated today. Lexie wonders if its the new diet. Mark says that might be a good reason to give him a special reward today.


Waterfront: EJ still thinks she could have told him about the car at any time. Nicole says hes right. EJ says she consciously chose to keep silent. He would like a true explanation. Nicole plays him shell tell him but first he better take his ring back. Whats the big deal? Her car broke down. Shes not a fragile flower that needs a big strong man to take care of things. EJ caves. He apologises for being too demanding. He asks her to put her ring back on. He admires her independence but he hopes that one day she understands that she doesnt have to tough it out without him. Hes always going to want to make it better if something upsets her. She has a flashback to Brady telling her the baby didnt make it. She tells EJ that she wishes he could make it right. He asks her what she wants him to make right. Nicole rambles on about people wishing someone can fix all their problems but thats not life. Life is hard and it always will be. EJ says maybe its not so hard if they face these things together. He asks if he is forgiven. He is. They kiss and head to the bench. Nicole trips over his briefcase; the papers spill out. She helps him pick them up and finds the pre-nuptial agreement.

EJ wants to explain. Nicole says no explanation needed; this speaks volumes. He should have shown her this before he proposed. EJ says his father arranged this agreement. He told him no. It was in his case because he was taking it to the office to shred. He loves her and wants to share everything he has with her. He tears up the agreement. Nicole says he could have asked her to sign it because she loves him. Nicole tells EJ that her getting pregnant when she thought she couldnt and him loving her has changed her so much. She doesnt want his money; just him and their family. EJ declares that their child is going to have the best child in the world. Nicole smirks; yeah, this is going to happen. EJ has disappeared; Nicole calls Dr. Walker. Shes coming to see him. He says its impossible. She tells him to shut up. She is going to have another chance.


Police station: Hope comes into the office as Bo is talking a mile a minute about how busy it is; its like the holidays never happened. Hope tells him to take a breath. Ciara had a great Christmas and he got the present of a lifetime, remember? Shes not talking about the suit she gave him; shes talking about the visions. They disappeared, havent they? Bo says yes, thank God. They kiss. Hope closes the blinds. Bo says its becoming a running joke in the office that every time she comes to see him they close the blinds. They gotta have some self control. They kiss. Hope opens the blinds. She decided that hes been working too much and too hard; he needs a break. Shes going to make a reservation at the Mountainview Lodge so clear his calendar; theyre going to leave this afternoon. He doubts she will be able to get a reservation but if she can hed been happy to go. Bo finishes up a call and starts going through paperwork when all of a sudden he hears and sees Stefano, Lexie and Theo. Theo is going up the stairs. He reaches for a picture. Lexie notices Theo isnt on the couch. They start calling for him. Bo wrings his hands. Lexie sees Theo at the top of the stairs. No Theo falls Bo grabs his head.


Chez Rouge: Maggie thanks Melanie for coming. Nicks sentencing hearing is coming up and he would like her to be there. He wants to make a public apology to her. After everything Maggie has done for her its the least she can do; shell be there. Maggie says if youre grateful for my help, do me a favour. Be good to yourself. Melanie doesnt understand. Maggie says Philip Kiriakis. She saw the little game Melanie was playing with Philip and Stephanie. Philip is a very different man than Nick. She will never, ever be able to wrap Philip Kiriakis around her little finger. Melanie has thought a lot about what Maggie said. Nick used to help her do that but now that hes gone she gets kind of lost at times. She doesnt have any friends and her brother Max is cool but he doesnt really want her around. She can deal with being alone. Shes talking about boys; getting herself in trouble, playing games. Thats what her dad taught her. Hed get in trouble and she had to play nice to get him out of it. That started at a young age. Maggie thinks that is terribly sad. Melanie says its not even that. Its stuff like knowing about Philip. Philip is trouble so shes going to stay away from him. Shell let him be Stephanies problem from now on. Maggie has faith in her. If she ever needs to talk Melanie knows shes always there. Maggie has to take a call. She tells Melanie to keep up the good work. After Maggie walks away Melanie says she will keep up the good work. Nicks sentencing hearing; thats where shell do it.


Kiriakis mansion: Stephanie joins Philip in the living room. She was glad he called because New Years Eve was amazing. Philip says yes it was the thing is Stephanie cuts in. She knows. In her heart shes sure about them seeing each other; no second thoughts. They kiss. They end up on the couch. Philip calls a halt. The kiss on New Years Eve was amazing but it goes way beyond that. Stephanie agrees. Its even better now because she finally knows what she wants. She doesnt want to waste time. She kisses him. He stops her. The last thing he wants to do is hurt her. Stephanie tries to kiss him but he pushes away. They need space. Stephanie says you bastard. He just lived up to every rotten thing everyones said about him. Soon as shes all his he wants to back off and play lets be friends. Philip says thats not true. He likes her very much but hes made plenty of mistakes with women. He doesnt want to hurt her. Shes important to him. He couldnt live with himself if he hurt her. His track record with women every time he gets something good going he screws it up. He mentions Morgan, Belle, Chloe he doesnt want that happening to her. Shes a really great person. Stephanie tells him not to put her on a pedestal. Hes the most competent man she knows and he needs to know that shes not insecure, at least not anymore. Shes a big girl; she can handle pain but she does know happiness when she sees it. So is today going to be about happiness or does he want to sit around and mope. They start kissing. Philip stops anyone can walk in Stephanie suggests they go to his room. They kiss their way into his room. Philip tells her he wants her so bad. Is she sure? She is. They fall on to the bed.


DiMera mansion Part 2: Stefano offers Theo some cookies that cook made this morning. Lexie says no and pulls out some cookies from her purse that are specially made for him. Stefano asks whats going on. Lexie asks him when hes going to understand that she knows whats best for not only her little boy but for everyone. Stefano laughs. Lexie believes she inherited her tough spirit from him. When it comes to certain things, shes the boss. Stefano says from now on he will inquire about what Theo can or can not eat. Theo wanders off to the staircase.


Clinic: Nicole is yelling and threatening Dr. Baker. Hes going to come through for her. He says he had someone here New Years Eve but she didnt show and the girl bolted. Nicole says he shouldnt have called the house. He agrees that calling the DiMeras was a mistake. They could all be killed. Nicole wants to see a picture of the mother. He gets out the file. Nicole looks at the picture; OMG this could be perfect. Dr. Baker tells her he doesnt even know if shes going to have the baby here. Shes in a very fragile state. Its over. Nicole says the hell it is. Where does she live?


Preview: Lexie to an unconscious Theo Theo, honey. Its mommy. Can you hear me? Sweetheart, answer me. Nicole to baby mommy Im Nicole. Dr. Baker said I could find you here. Baby mommy Dr. Baker? Nicole Im the woman whos going to adopt your baby. Stephanie to Philip I love being with you. Philip I love being with you too.

Kiriakis mansion: In Philips bedroom clothes are being removed as kisses are exchanged. Things are very hot and heavy when Philip calls a halt; they have to stop. Stephanie puts her blouse on; she feels humiliated. Philip wants her to wait. He understands she feels humiliated but he needs her to understand that he cares about her way too much. Stephanie knows that he has a lot of baggage and has made a lot of mistakes. Hes assuming that she cares about what happened with all those other women; she doesnt. When shes with him, shes right in the moment. Has he ever tried that? Philip thinks she may be on to something. They should give it a try. They kiss. Stephanie tells Philip they made the right decision. Philip repeats that he cares about her so much. She knows that right? She does and she respects that he needs this to be different. Philip says it is different. Stephanie says for me too. Philip says what now? Stephanie thinks they should get out of his bedroom; its not exactly conducive to self-control. He suggests that he take her on a real date. She says he did on New Years Eve. Hes talking about taking her out for dinner where Melanie is not likely to turn up.

Downstairs Daniel comes to visit Kate. Shes feeling stronger every day is her answer when he asks how she is. He brought Sleepless In Seattle for them to watch. Kate wants to spend time with him too but not watching a movie. Hes such a unique man. He was kind and comforting to her during a very difficult time. She wants him to realise this has nothing to do with him. Shes decided to take her life in a new direction and shes needs to end their relationship. Daniel is concerned that he upset her somehow. He hasnt. Its not him, its her. It has to do with the illness. She feels like she is living on borrowed time. She wants to be on her own without any romantic attachments. She wants to expend her energy on her children, family and herself. Daniel understands. Kate tells him that he was important in her life and he will always be in her heart. Daniel still has the feeling he disappointed her somehow. She says she may not be explaining it right. Maybe it had to do with him taking care of her when she was ill. Now that shes on the mend she feels the need to distance herself from that dark time in her life. Even though he was her saviour shes starting a new chapter. Daniel wants her to know how much she means to him. She brought out the best in him. Daniel gets paged. He has to go. They say goodbye.

Stephanie and Philip come into the living room and see Kate there. She wants to talk to Philip for a second so Stephanie heads out to the kitchen to get something to drink. Philip knows what Kate is going to say and he doesnt want to hear it. Kate says the moment she set eyes on Stephanie she knew she was the perfect girl for him. Back in the day she may have manipulated the situation a bit but from what she is seeing things are going quite well. She needs him to be free for a party tonight as shes throwing an engagement party for Lucas and Chloe. He can ask the lovely Stephanie to the party. Philip will do that on one condition Kate says I know, you dont want me to tell her shes perfect for my wonderful son? Dont worry, shell be subtle. She wants him to be happy and it seems like hes well on his way. Stephanie returns and asks if everything is okay. Kate tells her that she was just telling Philip that she hopes to see a lot more of her around here.


Police station: Bo has a vision of Theos fall down the stairs at the DiMera mansion. Bo calls 911 and asks for an ambulance to be dispatched immediately. Hope enters the office; she called the lodge Bo interrupts, they cant go. Hope asks, not another emergency? Bo says its not that kind of emergency. Hope realises he had another premonition. Bo hopes that is not what it is; that he just made a fool himself calling an ambulance. They leave.


Clinic: Dr. Baker tells Nicole the girl changed her mind, its not going to happen. Nicole demands to know her address so she can talk to her mother to mother. Dr. Baker tells Nicole point blank that shes not a mother and its time she faced the fact that she never will be. Nicole lashes out at Dr. Baker; she is a mother she gave birth to a baby girl. Dr. Baker points out that she didnt give birth, she had a miscarriage. He tells her to face the facts; she miscarried, didnt tell the father, faked a pregnancy and lied to everyone. Now she wants to take someones baby. He calls her a psycho. She calls him names and tells him hes not allowed to judge her. He yells that he calls the shots. She grabs the file and takes off.


DiMera mansion: Stefano thinks Theo just took a little tumble; Lexie yells dont touch him. Lexie talks to Theo trying to get him to answer her. Lexie is examining Theo. She tells Stefano to call an ambulance and tell them he may have a skull fracture or spinal injury. Stefano calls 911 and asks for an ambulance and finds out that one is on the way; he doesnt understand; how can that be? He tells Lexie that Theo is going to be fine. She prays that he is right. Lexie is telling the paramedics about Theos condition when Hope and Bo rush in. She asks them how they knew. Before they answer the paramedics are ready to leave so Lexie goes with them. Hope asks Stefano what happened. He doesnt know. Theo wandered out of the room; they should have never let him out of their sight. Hope tells him it was an accident.


Hospital: Theo is brought into the trauma center. The nurse checks Theo and says this child is not breathing. Lexie cries out. Bo tells Hope that he remembers standing right there praying for another little boy they loved; Zack. Tony rushes in. He just got Lexies message; how is he? Hope says they dont know anything yet. The doctor tells Lexie to wait outside the exam room but she refuses. Tony tells her to let the doctors do their work. Tony asks her where Abe is. Hes at a retreat with some of his staff. Stefano says hell get a hold of him but Lexie says no. Hell wonder why she was at the mansion and think it was her fault. Stefano says no one was to blame; it was an accident. Tony asks Stefano to give him a moment alone with his sister. Lexie cries on his shoulder. An injury like this could affect Theo for the rest of his life. Tony assures her that she is a wonderful mother. Lexie says she wasnt watching him just like she wasnt watching him when he went missing on Christmas Eve. Tony tells her that no one can watch their child every single minute. Lexie says with Theo she should have. She was negligent. Shes not cut out to be a mother.

The paramedic and Stefano both ask Bo how he knew that an ambulance was needed. Tony keeps telling Lexie that she is a great mother. He knows how dedicated she is to her son. Lexie says she turned her back on her child. Theo needs to be watched constantly; hes in his own little world. Tony concedes that may be true but must he not learn independence? How will he mature if he cant take a few steps without her hovering over him? How would he ever find the courage to break away from her if he senses her constant fear? Lexie says she should never have taken him to fathers house. Theo hates tension and thats all there is when shes with father; thats why Theo wandered off. Tony says or it may be hes like any kid and he just wandered off because children love to explore. Lexie says its one or the other. Im either a good mother or a good daughter. If Theo pulls through this she knows what she has to do.

Hope steps in and says Bo sent help for your grandson and youre questioning why? Stefano says no. Hes really very grateful. Hope asks Stefano to excuse them. Bo thanks her. Hope knows he couldnt explain why. Bo says he cant explain it to himself. Daniel arrives as Theo is brought out of the exam room. The doctor says Theo is still unconscious. Theyre taking him for a CAT scan. Daniel goes with them. Lexie tells Tony she fought so hard to prevent Theo from slipping away, she cant lose him now. Tony comforts her. Tony tells Lexie he hasnt been able to get hold of Abe. Hope brings her some tea. Lexie knows that Hope understands all too well what shes going through. Hope says theyre there for her and Theo. Hope goes to Bo; she can see hes still thinking about it. Bo doesnt want any part of what is going on. Hope says he may have saved Theos life. Bo says but he couldnt prevent the accident so whats the point. Hope doesnt understand it either but there has to be a point. He was able to help Theo on Christmas Eve. Bo wonders why he couldnt help him today. Daniel comes back; they have the test results. Theo has subdural hematoma. His immediate concern is that he has swelling on the brain. He needs to relieve that pressure. Stefano asks how they will do that. Daniel says surgery. Stefano hears hes very talented but he will have to fly in his own specialists. Daniel says no, there is no time. As it is Theo is lucky they got him here when they did. Tony asks for the address where Abe is. Lexie hands it to him. Tony goes to get Abe. Lexie wants to know what protocol Daniel is going to use. He tells her the hematoma is pressuring on the motor cortex surgery has its own risks but he thinks they need to do it immediately.


Some back alley: Nicole is muttering because Mia isnt at home. The girl comes along. Nicole tells her that Dr. Baker said she could find her here; shes the woman who was going to adopt her baby. Mia says she changed her mind. Nicole knows that. She understands how difficult it must be for her to think of giving it up after carrying the baby all these months and feeling it kick. She also knows that shes single, shes young, she has no job, no parents and no boyfriend in the picture. Mia informs Nicole if that is supposed to get her to change her mind its not working. Nicole wasnt saying that Mia couldnt take of the baby. If shes absolutely sure she wants to keep the baby she wont try to change her mind. She went to see Dr. Baker so she must have felt it was best to give up the baby so what changed? She assures Mia that the baby will be going to a good home. Mia says you mean rich people? Nicole says this is about love and thats what she wants to give her baby. She wants this baby more than anything; more than her own life.

Mia admits her life is messed up. She talks about her terrible apartment. Shes a dancer; ballet and jazz. She had high school scholarships; she got accepted to a school in Japan and then this happened. Its her fault this happened and the thought of never seeing him or her how would she feel if she found out her mother never wanted her. It seems mean to just leave. Nicole says its not mean when the person you give that baby to will love it with all their heart. Nicole cant put into words how much she wants her baby. She tells Mia that someday shell find love and when the time is right theyll have a family together. Mia notices Nicoles ring. Nicole comments that its her engagement ring. Mia cant believe that she expects her to hand over her baby when shes not even married. Her mother was like that; she had all these boyfriends that would beat them. She can forget about this baby.

Nicole stops her from leaving. She wants to explain. Yes its true shes not married but they will be soon. Mia doesnt get it; if shes not even married yet why does she want a baby so badly. Nicole says she was told she couldnt have children and at the time she didnt care that much. Now that she has found someone to love its all she can think about. Mia says why me? You knew I changed my mind but you found me, why? Nicole says there was another baby. They were sure it was going to happen. She cries the loss of the little girl is still so painful. Then Dr. Baker told her about this girl. She saw a picture of her and the babys father and she couldnt get over the resemblance to herself and her fiancé. Mia asks so you want my baby because it may look like you? Nicole says no; shell love the baby no matter what. If she wants to give up the baby she will take care of it always and she will take care of her. Nicole tells Mia she doesnt want to pressure her but if she does decide to give up her baby please let it be to her. Mia agrees to give Nicole her baby. Nicole thanks her. She know how hard this must be for her Nicole goes on to say that Mia reminds her so much of herself. She feels a real connection to her. Shes going to be the kind of mom Mia wants for this baby. Mia says theres one more thing before they make this final. She wants to meet the father; the guy Nicole is going to marry.

Brady pub: Outside the pub one of the DiMera minions informs EJ that he only takes orders from Stefano. EJ threatens the guy and he slinks off to do his bidding. Brady walks up to EJ and asks if it's business as usual at DiMera Enterprises these days. EJ wants to know why his business concerns Brady. Brady is making it his concern if it negatively affects Nicole. EJ sarcastically says it's touching that he's so protective of her but he's her fiancé, not Brady. EJ goes on to say that Brady plays a very minor role in Nicole's life. Brady thinks it's so interesting how EJ has been able to persuade everyone that he's nothing like his Dad. EJ tells Brady considering he's an ex-addict and his father redefined the word venal he's in no position to pass judgement on his family. Brady isn't passing judgement. He doesn't give a damn about EJ, his business or his family. What he doesn't like is when people he cares about are getting duped. He doesn't think Nicole has any idea what kind of guy EJ really is. EJ starts insulting Brady with his smart remarks ... Brady gets a call on his cell. It's Nicole. She has to see him now. Brady tells EJ he has to handle this and leaves.

Inside the pub Lucas tells Chloe they have to go; his mother is expecting them. Chloe isn't too anxious to go; the mansion gives her the creeps. Even when she knows Victor isn't going to be there she feels unwelcome. EJ comes in and congratulates them on their engagement. Chloe shows him her ring; Lucas has excellent taste. EJ says 'in women apparently'. Lucas asks him how things are between him and his (Lucas's) ex. EJ asks which one? Lucas answers 'the one that likes all the money.' EJ shares his good news; he and Nicole got engaged. Chloe rushes off to call Nicole. EJ sits down at the table. Lucas asks if he doesn't have someone else to be pompous to, maybe he can find someone that actually likes his accent. EJ tells Lucas that he spoke to Samantha to tell her that he was moving on with Nicole; to tell her she was free. Lucas - 'why the hell would I want to know that?'

EJ doesn't feel Lucas should get so hostile. All he was saying ... Lucas cuts. All he was saying is that he, the love of Sami's life has stepped aside; moved on. Lucas asks so I'm supposed to beg her to come back to me; take your sloppy seconds? Lucas wants to know why EJ told him that he moved on; what business it is of his? EJ thought he had the right to know because he is the father of two of Sami's children. Lucas tells EJ he is not interested in Sami's life anymore because he too has moved on with a beautiful woman that makes him very happy. She's the best thing that ever happened to him. He tells EJ to do him a favour and get away from him. EJ is now at the bar on his phone when he gets another incoming call he has to take. Its Stefano telling him to get to the hospital; it's Theo.

Hope and Bo are at the pub now. Hope asks Bo if he's doing again. Bo says there's nothing to talk about. Hope says he never had these visions before falling and hitting his head the night he was putting the star on the Christmas tree. Something happened to him that night. Bo says I had a slight concussion; Kayla checked me out. I'm fine. Hope agrees that he's fine physically but doesn't he think Kayla should check him out again. Or maybe he should talk to a psychiatrist. Bo says it's not going to happen. Forget it. The last thing he wants to do is tell Kay. She'll think he's going out of his mind. He adds that Hope probably thinks the same thing. Hope says these visions are obviously tormenting him. That's why she suggested he see someone. She does not think he is going out of his mind. Bo says maybe I do. I had a premonition that turned out to be real. Hope asks what if Kay can give some medical explanation. They need to understand this and he needs some peace of mind. The only thing that will give him peace of mind is if this stays between the two of them. No one else knows. No one.

Hope tells him she's just trying to help. Ciara joins them. Bo sits her on his lap. He tells Hope he's sorry. He knows she is concerned about what's going on. Right now all he needs is for her to support his decision. Hope will. Hope gets a call from Abe. Theo survived the surgery. They decide to go to the hospital; this is the best news ever. Family hug.


Some back alley: Nicole tells Mia that no, she can't meet her fiancé. Mia is dumbfounded. Nicole says she will meet him just not right now. He's out of town. Mia asks when he's coming back. Nicole doesn't know. It's just a bad time. Mia finds this all too creepy. She's out of here. Nicole stops her. What about their connection? Mia was beginning to think she was really nice but now it seems like she's lying to her. Why can't she meet her fiancé ... unless she doesn't really have one. Nicole insists she does. She was just a little confused. She forgot that he's coming home today. She'll call and talk to him and meet her wherever she wants. Mia says we'll meet in one hour at my place. Nicole promises that she will love her baby with all her heart and she'll be the best mother she can possibly be. Mia leaves. Nicole pulls out her phone.

Brady wants to know why they're meeting in an alley. Because it's near where Mia lives. Brady notices she isn't wearing her padding and comments that's why EJ was in such bad mood. You told him the truth, didn't you? Nicole didn't tell EJ anything. Brady says and the fraud continues ... enough is enough already. Nicole says fine leave then; she'll figure this out on her own. Brady wants to know why she called him. Nicole says something happened that will make everything alright. She needs his help; please don't abandon her now. She tells Brady Mia is perfect. Her and the father meet all the physical requirements. Mia is due to give birth about the same time she would have and she wants to move to Japan after giving birth. This is perfect. Brady wants to know why she needs him if it's so perfect. She wants him to pretend to be her fiancé. Brady says no.

Nicole starts to say if he doesn't do this for her but Brady jumps in. He knows and he lists off the things Nicole will lose. He's heard it all before. Nicole says but it's different this time. This girl is real. All he has to do is ... Brady jumps in pretend and lie; pretend to be something I'm not. He's done enough of that. Nicole knows he'll do this one last favour for her because he has a soft heart. He tells her not to work him. She claims she isn't and then continues working him. This is her last chance; she has no other choice. Brady says she does; she can tell the truth. Nicole can't because she'll lose him. She'll have no man, no baby, no life. Does Brady want to be responsible for that. Brady wants to know when he became responsible for not ruining her life. When did that happen? Nicole declares 'the second he decided to become involved in this'. She needs this baby and he's going to get it for her. She won't take no for an answer.

Brady doesn't know if he'll be able to live with himself if he lies for her. Nicole knows he values honesty and living his life morally. Brady says yet you want me to lie to this girl and EJ; yeah, he feels totally moral doing all that. Nicole wants him to hear her out. She pulls out the tears and the sob story. When she realised she was pregnant that being a mother would give her fulfillment and happiness especially with this guy that loves her in a very real way. It made her feel worthy of love. That's what the baby taught her before she was taken away. She made her feel like a whole person and that she could do something meaningful with her life. Without her she feels empty just like the old unloveable me. In order to feel whole and that she's worth something she needs Mia's baby. She cries ... she needs his help. Mia approaches them. Is this her fiancé?


Hospital - Part 1: Stefano asks Daniel if there are any other options besides the surgery. What is the bottom line? Daniel states that Theo will die if they don't perform the procedure. Lexie signs the consent forms. Abe arrives. Lexie tells him that Theo is in surgery; there's swelling on the brain. Abe asks he fell and hit his head? Lexie says because I wasn't watching him. He'll be taken away from them; that's her punishment. Abe says no, no, no as he holds her. Abe wants her to do something for him. Whatever is going on with Theo is out of their hands now. She's so precious to him. He wants her to be kind to herself. Abe knows that she has tremendous faith in Daniel. She does. Abe goes to get her some coffee. Stefano tells Lexie that he called the greatest neurosurgeon in the country. He'll be in Salem soon. Lexie doesn't want another doctor; she won't change her mind. Stefano says he has to do something. He just can't stand around and do nothing; it's not his way. He would do anything for his grandson. If she doesn't want a second opinion he'll pay him off and ask him to leave. Lexie says so can you leave. Stefano wants to be there for her and little Theo. Lexie says it's not about what you want; please leave.

Lexie doesn't want to see him because it reminds her of what happened. Stefano tells her she has been blaming herself but she has to realise ... Lexie stops him. Until they know Theo is alright all she realises is that they were at his house and Theo sensed the between us and wanted to get away from them. She was so focused on Stefano that she didn't watch her little boy. Focusing on him always ends in disaster. Stefano tells her Theo needs her to be strong not blaming herself and others. He needs for them all to be praying for him. Daniel returns with a grim look on his face. Lexie mutters oh my god.

Abe returns just as Daniel says Theo survived surgery. The next 24 hours will be critical but he's optimistic that he'll pull through and regain consciousness. They can see him soon. Abe and Lexie thank Daniel. Lexie asks Abe if he can ever forgive her. He says that she has to stop thinking of Theo's difficulties and struggles as her failures. She has to forgive herself. She'll try. She just has to know her little boy is alright. She wants him to know how much she loves him. Abe hugs her; they'll get their chance now.

EJ arrives. Father gave him the good news. Lexie tells Abe to call Bo and Hope the good news. Lexie tells EJ the thought of losing Theo ... well, they shouldn't take things for granted. She tells EJ to go home and take that precious boy of his in his arms and tell him how much he loves him. EJ hugs her and leaves to talk to Father. Daniel comes along. Lexie tells him that she was telling her brother to not put things off. They must tell the people they love how we feel ... right now. Express that love while we still have the chance.


Kiriakis mansion: Lucas and Chloe arrive just as Kate is finishing up with Gerard. Lucas asks if she's planning a fund raiser or something? No, she's hosting a party tonight. It's a very special occasion because her son is marrying the woman of his dreams. She thinks that is a grand cause to celebrate. It's an engagement party. Lucas thinks it's a little sudden. Kate thinks he looks a little stunned so she'll explain. She was resting on doctor's orders and she felt she had so much free time on her hands. It struck her that her son is engaged to be married and they haven't celebrated properly. Lucas thinks that a party like that requires at least 24 hours notice. Kate is less inclined to put things off these days. Lucas understands. Kate asks if this is a bad time. Lucas says no, it's fine. Chloe isn't; it's not fine with her. Lucas asks her why. Chloe thinks of Daniel. She doesn't think it's a good idea to be taxing herself like this. Kate assures her she feels fine. She feels better than she has in a long time. Chloe tells Kate it's very sweet of her; let's have the party tonight. Kate says it's pretty well all put together. She had to call everyone to invite them. She only has one person left to invite. She'll do that in person. It's Daniel; she'll go and see him at the hospital. She leaves. Lucas thanks Chloe for sparing his mother's feelings. It's obvious she doesn't want this party. What's going on? Is it about them? Is she having second thoughts.

When his mom mentioned moving up the wedding she was stalling about that. Now she wants to give them an engagement party and she's acting like she was asked to clean out the Kiriakis stables. Chloe says no, I just don't want her to be stressed. Lucas thinks she's the one that doesn't want to be stressed; she's not ready to get married, is she? If she's having second thoughts now is the time to talk about it. Chloe thinks about Daniel again. Chloe says of course she is not having second thoughts. Lucas comments that she's not too excited about the party. Chloe says it has nothing to do with them. She's just feeling guilty for not helping Kate with any of this. She feels spoiled sometimes. It may seem weird but the point is she's never doubted her decision to marry him, never. Lucas tells her that she makes him so happy.


Hospital - Part 2: Kate walks up to Daniel; just the man she wanted to see. Stefano is yelling into the phone when EJ approaches him. EJ tells he took care of their overseas situation. Stefano says good but it appears there is a little problem with one of their associates in Central America. He was hoping EJ would take care of it. He will. Lexie and Abe are in Theo's room talking to him. They'll be right by his side always. Daniel tells Kate about Theo. The surgery was a success but with head injuries ... time will tell. Kate says this isn't the time for this ... she'll come back. Daniel says it's fine, what is it? Kate tells him she's giving an engagement party for Lucas and Chloe; she would like him to be there.

Some back alley: A repeat of Nicole asking Brady to pose as her fiancé. He won't do it. He feels that she should tell EJ the truth. Mia comes up and asks Brady if he's going to her baby's father. Are you the guy she's marrying? Brady answers 'no, I'm not.' Nicole states that he's a friend; he can be trusted. Mia says she can't trust anyone least of all her. She's never going to get her hands on her baby. She walks away. Nicole lashes out at Brady. This was her last chance at happiness. She calls him a selfish son of a bitch and declares that he ruined her life. Nicole is screaming and hitting Brady. He grabs her and tells her to calm down. She never should have trusted him. She says what about that little girl; this is about her too. Brady says damn rights it's about her. You want to take her baby under false premises. Nicole screams who gives a damn about premises. She wanted to give her and her baby a decent life; give them love and security. She calls Brady a sanctimonious creep; he's above saving her life. Brady doesn't think supporting her lies is the way to save her life; at least not in his book. Nicole cries without the baby and without EJ she might as well be dead because she's going to lose everything that ever truly mattered to her. He could of stopped it but he didn't. He hung her out to dry. It's all on him.

Brady tells her he's sorry. She thinks he's only saying that to make himself feel better. He says if he thought that lying was the answer ... that it would help ... Nicole yells it would help her, it would help EJ and it would help that precious baby. She claims Brady is only thinking of himself. He's thinking of a better way to go and that's to tell EJ the truth that you want to adopt this baby. Does she honestly think that EJ would kick her out on the street. Nicole yells that he doesn't understand. Brady understands that selling and buying babies on the black market is a crime. Nicole says what about giving a baby a loving home with a loving family, is that a crime? Brady looks at her as if she's lost her mind and says 'the DiMera's??? A loving family?' She wants to know why he's trying so hard to make her feel bad. He's trying to talk some sense into her. He's here for her. Every time she's called, he's been there. Hasn't he been there for her every time she's needed him? Nicole says he only comes when she calls because he's got nothing better to do. He's never actually been there for her. Brady thinks she's lashing out at him because she can't lash out at the one person she's most angry at, that's EJ.

She obviously thinks that EJ doesn't love her enough to understand the hell she's been going through; that he won't cut her a break. Nicole claims that is not it. She knows EJ loves her; he's a good and caring person. Brady says then go and tell him the truth and adopt a baby together and live happily ever after. The time has come for her to trust that EJ isn't going to abandon her and if he does, he wasn't worth it in the first place. It's time to take a leap of faith; she needs to go for it. Nicole says he makes it sounds so easy. Brady suggests they go somewhere quiet where she can get her head straight. Nicole says like you. Theres no way in hell she's going to end up like him; she's not giving up on the dream of having a man who actually loves her. Does he really think she's going to let something as stupid as the truth stand in the way of her getting what she wants, a family? She calls him a downer; a great big buzz kill. She tells him to take his negativity somewhere else. Brady tells her he's done helping her. Nicole claims he never even got started. Brady tells her not to contact him, not to call him; game over. He walks away.

Mia comes along as Nicole is crying and talking out loud to herself. Is it wrong of her to want to be a mother? She could have used a father like EJ when she was growing up. She isn't sure about a mom like her though but she knows she's blessed with that little baby. She's going to give him or her all the love she had for her sweet baby girl that is in heaven because all of this love doesn't just go ... you have to have somewhere to put it. Mia comforts her. She can tell how much Nicole really wants this. Nicole doesn't blame her for not trusting her. She was just taking care of her precious baby. Mia can see how much she wants this baby; she couldn't think of giving it to anyone but her. But she still needs to meet her fiancé to see if he's a good guy. Nicole claims he is wonderful but he had to go out of the country on business. Mia says when he gets back then. Nicole says of course but she needs an answer now because she can't have this dragging on. Mia feels for her but because her mother had all these mean boyfriends and no husband she doesn't want her kid to go through what she did. If she can't meet the dad she can't give Nicole her baby. That would be a deal breaker. Nicole promises that she will meet him when she gets back. She's going to love him. She programs her number into Mia's phone. This is going to work out for all of them. Mia leaves. Nicole says she is going to make it work this time whatever it takes.


Brady pub: John bumps into Charlotte spilling her coffee on her. Cynthia told him he could find her here. He's decided to go through with the hypnosis. Marlena walks in and hears what John is saying. Charlotte thinks this is great; what changed his mind? He says probably her telling him that there wasn't much more she could do for him unless they moved forward. He wasn't ready to stop the sessions just yet. Charlotte notices Marlena. Marlena says she just came in. Charlotte says that she and John were discussing his therapy; it was a private discussion. Marlena tells her she wasn't eavesdropping. Charlotte leaves. John joins Marlena. He tells her he's going to proceed with the hypnosis. Marlena is so proud of him. He tells her not to get her hopes up. She isn't. She tells him that hypnotherapy was an important part of their success when they went through this together. She wants to know what made him change his mind. He wants to know the truth about his past no matter what.

Marlena says it's the only chance he has of regaining his memories. He shrugs, it may never happen. He wants to apologise for making New Year's Eve so uncomfortable. She tells him it wasn't his fault. John says 'that's not what Charlotte says.' He goes on to say that Dr. Taylor feels like he has developed some sort of mental block that is preventing him from remembering his past. It's not just what Stefano did to him. Marlena asks if Charlotte thinks he doesn't want to remember his past. John says would I have agreed to hypnosis if I didn't want to remember? Marlena says maybe he's not ready to end his sessions with Dr. Taylor; kind, compassionate, altogether wonderful Dr. Taylor. John says it's not like her to be so hostile. She gets hostile when she thinks someone is being thoroughly disingenuous. It seems to her like it took a certain ultimatum from a certain therapist to get him to the next level of his therapy. It was only when Charlotte said she was going to end his therapy that he ... John cuts in ... you said you were going to end our family unless I got therapy so I did. Guess what, it didn't work but I'm still going, aren't I? Marlena questions 'what is that about?' John slams his fist down. He just can't win with her. Marlena apologises. She just wants this so badly. John says then just wish me luck. She does. He gets up to leave. He'll keep her posted. He encounters Brady as he's leaving and says gotta run kid. Brady asks Marlena if something happened between her and Dad. She says they were talking about his therapy; he's going into hypnotherapy. Brady thinks that is great. He notices Marlena's reaction and asks why she seems so bummed about it. Marlena thinks she pushed him into seeing Dr. Taylor and she's begun something that he might not be willing to end.


Kiriakis mansion - Part 1: Chloe and Lucas are in one of the bedrooms. Chloe is getting ready. She's a little nervous about the guest list. She wonders who else is coming. Lucas says his mother wouldn't invite anyone they couldn't stand. He tells her she's beautiful and hugs her. Chloe notices a present and asks Lucas what he's done. He doesn't know what it is. It's not from him. Chloe reads the card. 'Dear Chloe. Welcome to the family. We are blessed to have you. Love Kate.' Chloe is grateful; she never thought Kate would like her. Lucas is blown away by the novelty of not having to fight for the woman he loves. In the past no one was ever good enough. Chloe shrugs; maybe Kate lowered her standards. Lucas tells Chloe to stop putting herself down. He mentions what Chloe did for Kate. He adds that if necessary he would have fought for her. Aside from his kids she's the best thing that ever happened to him. They start kissing and end up on the bed.


Hospital: Kate asks Daniel if he can come to the party. He doesn't know why she wants him there. She thought he understood that even though they were no longer romantically involved she valued their friendship. She wants to know if his reluctance to attend is because of Chloe. Daniel thinks of Chloe and tells Kate that Chloe has nothing to do with this. Kate says he's being evasive. She's noticed the tension between him and Chloe; it's palpable. Now she doesn't want him to be her doctor; can he deny that there's a problem. Daniel thinks shes making too much out of it. She hopes she is because Chloe is going to part of her family and he is a part of the family. Is he going to come to the party? Daniel is going to stay and keep an eye on Theo. Kate asks that if he gets out on time would he show up for her. For her he will.


Chez Rouge: Chelsea arrives to pick up the cake for the engagement party. Max comes in and tells the woman that he thinks he left his cell phone there on New Year's Eve. The woman hands it to him. He notices Chelsea and asks if she's avoiding him. He left her four messages. She points out that he didn't have his cell phone and he's never at home; that's why she never got hold of him. He thought she was avoiding him because the last time they were here she literally ran out of here. He thought they had agreed they were just going to be friends. She did too but do friends go around kissing each other? Max says they kissed, so what; it was New Year's Eve. Chelsea - so it didn't mean anything to you. Max's answer is yeah, no, I don't know. Chelsea asks him to explain that. He says no, it's nothing to freak out over. Chelsea thought they had figured out where everything stood and now she's now sure. Max asks her where she wants things to stand.

Chelsea is confused. She thought they had this all settled so why is asking her where she wants things to stand. Max says it doesn't hurt to hear it again. The cake arrives. Max asks what the occasion is. She tells him it's an engagement party for Chloe and Lucas. She's happy for them but she doesn't feel like going to a party where everyone is happy and in love. She's going to feel like an outcast because she's the only one that is there solo. Max says she might feel better if she goes with a handsome man on her arm. She would, does he know where she could get one of those? After some really inane banter Chelsea tells him she's okay with going to the party herself but she appreciates his offer to come with her. She thinks he offered because he felt sorry for her. He denies that. She says its fine; she'll go alone. She tells him that she's glad they finally got things straight. Max says me too but it's clear he doesn't have a clue ... LOL!


Kiriakis mansion - Part 2: Kate knocks on the door. Kate realises she interrupted something and is going to leave. Chloe stops her and thanks her for the incredible gift. Kate asks if she likes it. Chloe hasn't opened it yet; she just read the card. She opens the gift. It's a beautiful dress for the party. Kate wanted her to feel like a princess. Chloe tells her that Lucas makes her feel like a princess every day. Kate heads out to check on things in the kitchen. Chloe tells Lucas his mom has been so good to her. Lucas can't get over the change in her since she was diagnosed; he thinks his mom is very fond of her. Chloe claims she doesn't deserve this. Sometimes she just feels guilty. Lucas says you keep saying that and you act like that; is there something you're not telling me. Chloe says that his mother needs to stop giving her all these gifts; it's over the top. Lucas says you saved the woman's life and you're saying it's over the top. It's a gift from your future mother-in-law. He tells her she deserves it because she's deserving. Chloe says it is an incredibly beautiful dress. They kiss. She tells him she has to finish getting ready. He goes downstairs. Chloe thinks about Daniel.

Daniel arrives and asks Lucas where Chloe is. Lucas tells him she's upstairs getting ready. Kate joins them. She's glad Daniel decided to come. Lucas asks, why wouldn't he? Is something going on? Kate tells him that she and Daniel are no longer seeing each other. Lucas calls him a S.O.B. and punches him. Lucas is furious. She just had a bone marrow transplant and two weeks later Daniel dumps her. Kate tells him that Daniel didn't dump her; no one dumped any one. Daniel explains that he and Kate came to an understanding that she would focus on her family and health right now. Lucas demands to know what he's doing there then. Kate answers that they decided to be friends. Lucas apologises. Kate offers to go upstairs to get a first aid kit but Daniel refuses. He'll take care of it himself. He goes upstairs. He knocks on Chloe's door. She thinks its Lucas and asks him to help with her zipper. When she sees its Daniel she asks if he's looking for Kate. He isn't, he's looking for her.

Chelsea apologises to Lucas for being a little late. Where is everybody? Lucas tells her where Kate and Chloe are. She asks about Daniel. Lucas is sure he's around but do him a favour and don't ask him what happened to his face. Chloe asks Daniel what happened to his face. He says it was just Lucas. Chloe asks if he told him. Daniel says no, it had nothing to do with us. Chloe states that there is no us. Daniel offers to help with her zipper. She says she doesn't need help but she does. He does her zipper up. Chloe says whatever he wants to talk about will have to wait because the party can't start until she goes downstairs. That's what he wants to talk about. A few things happened today that made him think about what they're doing; running scared, wasting time, lying to themselves and other people. It's not too late. She doesn't have to marry a man she doesn't love with her whole heart. Downstairs Kate is going back to the kitchen when Lucas tells her to relax, she's doing too much. She tells him not to worry; his only job tonight is to enjoy himself. She leaves. Lucas tells Chelsea he'd enjoy himself a lot more if Chloe was down here. He's going to see what's taking her so long. Chelsea stops him; girls don't like to be rushed. Upstairs Chloe says she can't do this. Daniel says she's just getting in deeper and deeper. If she goes through with this party, that would be cruel. She says how about breaking Lucas's and Kate's hearts, isn't that cruel? He says it's not fair to them; they have to stop pretending. Chloe says she isn't pretending; she loves Lucas. Daniel - and you feel nothing for me? Answer me. She doesn't have to go through with this charade. Dont do it.

Kiriakis mansion: EJ and Nicole are about to ring the door bell when Victor steps between them and the door. He tells them to go home. Nicole insists that they are invited; she's Chloe's best friend. Victor calls that a frightening thought and un-invites them. EJ calls Victor cranky. Victor tells EJ he's a damn fool for being involved with that woman. EJ thought he had warned Victor not to talk to him like that. Victor thought he warned EJ that if he didn't get rid of her she'd bring him down. He asks Nicole how many lies she has told him. He looks at EJ and asks him just how gullible are you? Daniel joins the party and thinks about being in bed with Chloe. Kate comments that when he disappeared she assumed the hospital called him. What made him come back? Chloe. Outside EJ gets all pompous and arrogant declaring that Nicole is the woman he loves. Victor says 'God help you.' LOL! EJ declares that she is the woman he's going to marry. Victor amends his previous statement. You're not just an idiot you're a damn masochist with a death wish. Nicole and EJ blather on about being in love. EJ calls Victor a miserable wretch. Victor tells EJ that he doesn't know what misery is but trust him, he will. EJ asks Victor how dare he speak to woman that is going to be a mother, a wonderful mother at that, like that. Is nothing sacred to him. Nicole looks guilty. Back inside Daniel says there's something he needs to say about Chloe. Chloe says please don't.

Victor lets EJ and Nicole into the house because he doesn't want to see Kate upset. They enter the living room as Daniel makes a toast. May your choices in life always be the right ones and may you forever be happy with them. Chloe and Lucas kiss. Philip and Stephanie comment that they're totally in love and will be so happy together. Chelsea asks Chloe if she has a dress yet. No. Victor steps in; they know it won't be white. Victor asks if they have set a date. Lucas says no but they'd rather it be sooner than later. Victor suggests that he put it off as long as possible; give himself time to see past the physical attributes to the empty soul and then run like hell. Lucas tells Victor that Chloe is the most honest, caring person he knows. Kate steps in and takes Victor to have some cake. Lucas apologises to Chloe for Victor; the man's off his rocker lately. He gets a call from Maggie and steps away to take it. Nicole approaches Chloe; what's making her so miserable. Chloe thinks she has made a huge mistake. Lucas and EJ have a short conversation about Victor. EJ says he's certainly not a fan of engagements. Lucas surmises that EJ told Victor about he and Nicole; he bets Victor had a few choice words about his ex. Lucas thinks that maybe EJ should listen to him. Nicole might seem happy now but as time goes on things might go bad; a woman like her is never satisfied. Smug, clueless EJ declares that might have been the case when she was with Lucas but with him she's well taken care of. Nicole asks Chloe if she is still having second thoughts about getting married. Chloe claims she loves Lucas. He's everything she wanted in a man. He's sweet, funny and a great Dad. He'd do anything for her. Nicole thinks she is trying to convince herself. Chloe doesn't want to hurt him but at the same time she wants to do the right thing. Nicole asks if doing the right thing will make her happy because clearly she isn't. Daniel comes up; he wants to speak to Chloe.

Chloe tells him she has to talk to Lucas and walks away. Daniel asks Nicole if everything is going well with the new doctor. Nicole says yes; he's very competent. He takes good care of the two of them; no complaints. Daniel asks 'why is it that I don't believe you.'. Chelsea and Kate have a conversation in the foyer. Chelsea thinks Kate came out there because she needed space from Daniel. They had a serious relationship and just being friends isn't going to be as easy as she thinks. Kate asks if she still has feelings for Daniel. No, he's completely out of her system. Kate says that's because you've moved on with Max. Lucas and Max talk. Max offers to put together a bachelor party with strippers. Lucas doesn't want any strippers. Max says okay who are you and what have you done with Lucas. Lucas laughs and tells Max the day will come when all he'll want to do is spend a quiet day with Chelsea. Max tells him that he and Chelsea are just friends. Lucas says too bad, you make a cute couple. Philip congratulates Chloe and welcomes her to the family. They hug. Daniel hovers. Chelsea asks Kate why everyone assumes that she and Max are a couple. She reminds Kate of the conversation they had where Kate warned her about rebound relationships; she and Max are strictly platonic. Max and she are just like Kate and Daniel, friends. Daniel asks Chloe the name of her doctor. She drops her plate so she doesn't have to answer. EJ comes along and asks if she is ready to go. EJ goes to get their coats. Nicole's cell rings. It's Mia. She needs to talk to her about her baby.

Max and Chelsea leave; Chloe thanks them for coming. Kate comes up to Chloe and asks if she had a good time. She did. She thanks Kate for the party and for inviting Nicole and EJ. Chloe knows that they aren't hers or Victor's favourite people. Kate says she wanted them here and tonight is all about her and happiness. Victor comments to Daniel - dreadful party, isn't it. Daniel says no. It means a lot to Kate. Victor thinks Kate has deluded herself into believing that woman is going to make Lucas happy. Daniel shrugs; she wants the best for her son. Victor sarcastically says 'the best, Chloe Lane. That woman has hopped into bed with half the male population of Salem.' Victor tells Daniel he should have met Chloe's mother; it would give him an idea of what Lucas has in store. Victor goes on to say that Lucas is not exactly a genius. That's why he keeps ending up with these foolish women who have nothing going for themselves except big bazooms. Daniel tells him not to talk about Chloe or any woman that way in his presence. Not only has Chloe saved Kate's life which sadly doesn't seem to mean a damn thing to Victor but she's a bright, compassionate, intelligent woman. His contempt for her only cheapens him.

Nicole tells Mia she can't do this tonight. Mia says it's important. Nicole says she's see her in an hour. EJ asks Nicole who Mia is. Victor asks Daniel what's wrong with him - how dare he lash out at him in his own home. Dan wants to know why he can't cut Chloe a break. Victor declares she is poison. She's a user and a fraud. Dan says that Kate wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Chloe. Kate owes Chloe her life and Victor at the very least owes her a little respect. Chloe is impressed that Kate set aside her differences with Chloe. Kate thinks that holding on to anger is a losing a proposition; a waste of time and a waste of energy. Her family is what is important to her and this extraordinary young woman that not only saved her life but made Lucas the happiest he's been in his entire life. Kate hugs her. Dan hovers. Nicole lies to EJ and says she met her at the doctor's office. Mia found her bracelet so she's going to swing by and pick it up. EJ says he'll come with her. Lucas joins Chloe in the foyer. He asks if she's having fun because truthfully he'd rather be at home in front of the fire having some private time. She would too. He's going to pack up the gifts and then they can leave. She wants to tell him something first. She doesn't deserve all this; the party, the presents, him. He doesn't want her started on this 'she's spoiled' stuff again. Lucas says she's part of the family now; it will be like this for the rest of their lives. Chloe says feelings change, people change, nothing lasts forever. Lucas thinks this is about Brady. He knows they came from bad relationships in the past but this is different. She's the only person he wants to be with. There's no where he'd rather be than here with her and he's never felt like that with anyone else. He kisses her and goes to bring the car around. Daniel tells Chloe that it's a nice act that she puts on. What happened earlier wasn't just physical. It is so much more than that. It's what they felt that day in the park when she comforted him, lifted his spirits in a way that no one else ever has. They're not through. Not by a long shot. He leaves.


Brady pub - Part 1: Marlena is on the internet checking out Dr Charlotte Taylor and all the awards she has won. Marlena than calls one of Charlotte's former co-workers to get more information on her.


Charlotte's office - Part 1: Charlotte asks John what else he sees. John has a memory of being chained up. He can't get free. Marlena is with him. She's in trouble; he has to help her. He can't let her die. He can't leave their children without their mother. He calls out to God to give him strength. Charlotte brings him out of the hypnosis. He asks how long he's been out. She answers an hour. What does he remember? Not a damn thing. He wants to know what happened. Did the hypnosis work? Did he say anything. Charlotte says he said a lot of interesting things. John says like what? Charlotte has to review the video tape before she can share any of this. John thinks the session was a total bust and she's trying to let him down easily. She tells him he can't expect immediate results; there's no way of knowing how long this will take. John is upset; he thinks she is just stringing him along. He thought he'd walk out of here and that would be it; mission accomplished. Charlotte urges him not to give up. She believes the hypnotherapy will work for especially after what she saw tonight. John asks if he can get his parking validated. Charlotte believes that if he leaves like this he may never get his memories back. John walks out.


Titan: Stephanie and Philip are there because Philip needs a disk for a meeting in the morning. Stephanie finds it for him. She'll give it to him after he promises her that for the rest of the week he won't work past 7. It's like he's obsessed with work. Philip defends himself; he makes time for other things like this ... he kisses her. Stephanie says besides being a workaholic he's a really sweet guy. She saw him with Chloe; being at her engagement party must have been difficult. He says no it wasn't because he doesn't have feelings for Chloe any longer. Someone else has come into his life; someone who is beautiful and incredibly sexy. Stephanie teases that sexually harassing an employee is just begging for trouble. Philip says she's right; they can't do this. Stephanie says it was a joke. Philip says yeah but you're right. In this day and age, workplace romance ... you can never be too careful. People gossip and with people like loose lips Melanie they can never play it too safe. He doesn't think they should work together any more. Stephanie will quit her internship if that is what he wants. He can't let her do that; what about the college credits and experience she's gaining. Stephanie says she can get another job. Philip says they need her here; she's the only intern in the place that has her head on straight. Stephanie tells him if he wants to break up with her just say so. Philip says they're not breaking up; he's reassigning her to someone else. Stephanie says so this was just a big tease; he just wanted to see her squirm. Philip thinks watching her squirm is sexy. They kiss.


Brady pub - Part 2: Marlena asks John to join her. She notices that he seems distracted. He says he had his first hypnotherapy session tonight and he didn't remember anything. Maybe he should pack this in. Despite her accusations that he didn't end his therapy because he wants to be around attractive, charming Dr. Taylor he wants out. He's not in this for the joy of being shrunk. Marlena apologises. She never should have assumed what she did. Marlena tells she did some research on Dr. Taylor to see if they can trust her. She has a boat load of awards and her colleagues think very highly of her. She thinks she's a keeper. John asks if that means she is giving him permission to date her. Marlena asks him why would she encourage him to date his doctor. Because she did all this digging and didn't find anything ... Marlena interrupts; she was checking her qualifications and since she seems highly qualified to handle his case she thinks he should give her a second chance. She asks him to please not give up, not yet. John will go to one more session. He gets up to leave. Marlena gets a call about Dr. Taylor. She's talking to someone that worked with her in Minneapolis. Do they know why she left ... yes, that does seem odd, doesn't it?

Max and Chelsea are now at the pub. Chelsea is glad he showed up. The party wasn't as boring as she thought it would be. She still can't believe her grandmother and Daniel broke up. Max asks her if she's going to make a move on Daniel. She says no, she has zero interest in him. Why does he care anyway? He knows that Daniel hurt her before and he doesn't want that to happen again. They have this bizarre conversation about how they both so happy they're not in relationships. Max introduces her to Michelle a new employee. Max orders for Chelsea, Chelsea orders for Max. Michelle thinks they make such a cute couple. Max and Chelsea hate that people keep saying that.


DiMera mansion: EJ refuses to give her the keys. He doesn't want her on the roads alone; they are extremely slick. She wants to know why he's making such a big deal out of this. He says you're pregnant and he loves her; he doesn't want her to take any unnecessary risks. He's going up to bed - he takes the keys with him. Nicole calls Mia and tells her she can't make it tonight. Mia will come there. Nicole says no, that's a terrible idea. Mia thinks that Nicole is ashamed of her; if she's not good enough than obviously her baby isn't either. Nicole says no; things are just crazy around here tonight. She'll come and see her tomorrow. Mia says under one condition; bring your fiancé, no excuses, no tricks. She hangs up on Nicole.


Charlotte's office - Part 2: Charlotte is watching the tape of the session. John remembers the love of his life, it's Marlena. Charlotte doesn't look too happy.

Daniel's apt - Part 1: Daniel answers his door; it's Chloe (cue flashback). She tells him last night never happened. His response - like hell it didn't. She's inside now; she's very serious about this. He wants to know why she came there. Last night when they were in the bedroom together he had that look in his eyes; she thought he was going to tell someone. He tells her that she knows as well as he does that marrying Lucas is a terrible mistake. Chloe explains that even when you're in love with someone you can feel attracted to someone else. You shouldn't act on it and that was her mistake. She shouldn't have let him kiss her. She only did because she felt nervous. Daniels says she was nervous because he was there. What they feel is so much more than just an attraction. That's why she came here. She could have called but she came here to see him, to be with him, to feel my touch. They kiss and make love or have passionate sex - whatever you want to call it. (It's pretty explicit ... LOL!)


Waterfront: John is sitting on a bench when Brady comes by and asks him if something is wrong. John tells him he tried hypnosis to see if he could get some memories back but all he got is nothing. Brady suggests trying a different doctor. John says you really don't know much about me, do you? Brady agrees he's out of the loop. He doesn't know if John really wants to get his memory back. John answers that he does want his memories back and he wants them right now because he knows Blondie is in there somewhere. He's doing it for her. It's hard to explain but when he sees Blondie he knows there is something there, something good - something he should remember. That's why he wants those memories back. Brady says so you have to keep working it. John agrees - for Blondie and maybe for some other people too. Brady has to go but before he leaves he tells his Dad that there was one thing he always did for his whole life and that was go out all out for what he wanted and he always got it.


Charlotte's office: Charlotte is watching the video of John's session. She gets up to get some books and is startled by a knock on the door. She knocks over a lamp and some stuff off her desk. Marlena comes in to see if she's okay. Charlotte says how dare you barge in here. Charlotte covers by saying she was startled. Marlena wants to talk to her about something. It's not about John, it's about Charlotte. She's just puzzled. She went online and discovered that she has awards and publications a mile long; she was impressed. She was puzzled because she left her last job suddenly. Charlotte accuses Marlena of checking up on her. She left her job to go home and take care of her dying father; someone Marlena never bothered to stay in touch with. Marlena supposes she could have down a better job of staying in touch but it was so long ago that she worked with him ... Charlotte interrupts - it wasn't that long ago, not for her. Her father never forgot her, he even mentioned her on the day he died. Charlotte concedes that Marlena didn't know that and it's unfair to think that she didn't care. Marlena did and if she would have known he was ill ... Charlotte jumps in she knows that Marlena would have done or said something. Marlena gets up to leave. She tells Charlotte she would like for them to be friends. They both want John to recover; she knows they share that goal. After she leaves Charlotte mutters 'at least one of us does.' Charlotte is watching the video again when John walks in. She closes her laptop. He's ready to get back to work. They'll view the video first and then they'll schedule another session. She wishes it was that easy. She just viewed the video and it's her professional opinion that hypnosis isn't going to work for him and he probably won't get his memories back.


Brady pub - Part 1: Maggie drops her cup of take out coffee. Max helps her clean up. She says something about today of all days when trying to clean the coffee off her clothes so Max asks her what is up. Nick is being sentenced today. Max wants to know when. Maggie tells him that Nick doesn't want anyone there except her and Melanie.


Titan: Melanie tells Nick she needs the morning off but she'd rather not say why. Philip reminds her the Alternative Fuels project meeting is this morning. Melanie is sorry but she has to go.


Brady pub - Part 2: Max is barking out orders when Stephanie comes in. She's there as the lowly intern to pick up some coffee and tea. Max tells her that Amy will help her; he has to get going. Nick is being sentenced and even though Maggie said Nick doesn't want anyone there there's no way he isn't going. Stephanie feels all his friends should be there. Max agrees but Nick only wants his Aunt Maggie and Melanie there. Max called Chelsea but Theo is coming home from the hospital so she has to be there. Stephanie wants to go with him; Philip will understand. Max tells her he'll
bring the car around. Stephanie calls Philip and tells him she knows why Melanie wanted to take the morning off.


Courtroom: Nick thanks EJ for being there. EJ knows that Mickey would rather be there than in Chicago. Nick says it's better; this way he doesn't have to see him get sentenced to life in prison. EJ tells him not to get ahead of himself. Nick says it's what he deserves. It's hard to imagine how this all happened now that he's clean. He was delusional. He thought he was helping Melanie. He thought he was in love with her. He wasn't. Melanie and Maggie enter the courtroom, Maggie rushes over to Nick. Melanie tells Nick that they're going to do everything they can when EJ comes over and tells Melanie can't speak to Nick. Max and Stephanie rush in. Max knows she said not to come but he couldn't stay away. Maggie says it's okay. Maggie steps outside to gather herself. Stephanie tells Melanie that it would have helped Philip if she would have told him what she was doing today. Melanie shrugs; Nick wanted it kept a secret. She asks if Philip is coming. Stephanie says no, he's at the meeting. She says the hearing is about to start so she's going to get seated. Philip enters the courtroom just as Judge Fitzpatrick is telling everyone to be seated.

Maggie is on the stand; she's very tearful as she makes her plea for leniency. She mentions Nick's statement and his apology. She knows him; he meant every word. He's a good boy with a good heart. He wasn't himself when he did that terrible thing. She asks the judge to show him some mercy. Judge Fitzpatrick is going to retire to her chambers to make her decision but Melanie speaks up. She wants to say something. She's the victim's daughter so the judge agrees to hear what she has to say. Melanie has a prepared statement that she reads from. What she came here to say was this; Nick, I forgive you because while my father was a victim of a crime you committed you were also a victim. You trusted people too much and you never got a fair shake. So Your Honour I hope that you will see it in your heart to be lenient with Nick because he's basically a very good person. Some people you know if you dig down inside are basically good and that's Nick. You can't put him in jail for the rest of his life because everyone that knows him will lose so much. That's all. (She's crying as she gives her statement). The judge calls a recess. Maggie hugs Melanie and thanks her.

The judge returns. Her initial impulse was to have Nick serve the maximum but after what she heard today from his friends and family and him and especially the victim's daughter she has re-evaluated the circumstances of this crime. She's decided in this case that justice must be tempered with mercy. She sentences Nick to serve between 2 to 5 years; with good behaviour he'll be eligible for parole within 18 months. Hugs are exchanged. Philip tells Melanie that Nick really owes her one. She just did what was right. Philip thinks it was incredibly generous. Melanie asks if she has redeemed herself - she's not a total loser in his eyes? Philip says she never was. Stephanie joins them. Melanie asks about the meeting. Philip pushed it until the afternoon so she could be there. He goes to make a call. Stephanie tells Melanie she was very impressed also. Melanie goes to say goodbye to Nick. He tells her she saved him. She says she just told the truth. Nick says she stood up for him and he doesn't think it was just because he gave her the shares in his fuel project. She says it wasn't. Nick asks - so was it Philip? She says maybe a little. She thought that if he heard she had gotten his sentence reduced that he ... Nick asks 'like you?' Melanie says or be a little nicer to her. She did mean what she said. He deserves a second chance. He really is a good person. She tells him to be good to himself and hugs. As she walks out of the courtroom she sees Philip and Stephanie kissing.


Mia's apt: Nicole is at the door prattling on about nice it was to talk to Mia last night. Mia thought she told her that she wasn't to come alone this morning. Where is he? Nicole wants to come inside so they can talk. She looks around the place and asks how long she's lived there. Mia answers. Nicole says she'll soon be on her way to Japan. Mia keeps asking Nicole where her fiancé is but Nicole keeps chattering away avoiding the question. Finally Mia tells Nicole she's not agreeing to anything until she meets the guy that is going to be the father to this baby. For the last time where is her fiancé? Nicole says he really wanted to be here but then he got a call in the middle of the night ... Mia says so when will he be here, one hour, two??? Nicole wishes she could explain this better. It's a very delicate situation and there's no other way to say it; 'my fiancé is not coming.' Mia asks 'doesn't he want this baby?' He does. Mia wants to know when she gets to meet him. Nicole says you can never meet my fiancé, ever.

Nicole gives Mia the miracle baby sob story. She can't ever get pregnant again. Mia says you haven't been pregnant for months, your boyfriend has got to know that. Nicole explains that she's managed to keep it from him by wearing padding. He'll have what he's been waiting for all this time with your help, your baby ... my baby. Mia is shocked that Nicole wants to take her baby and make her fiancé think it's his. Nicole is puzzled - she makes it sound so underhanded, it isn't. Mia says this is not only crazy, it's wrong. Nicole is asking her to give up her baby and lets pull this scam on your boyfriend. They could both end up in jail. Nicole assures her she won't let that happen. Mia doesn't known her; how can she trust her. She wants her to leave. Nicole gets down on her knees. Mia is her only hope and she says no her life will be over. All she is asking is that Mia give her back the happiness she left. Give me your baby; give me back my happiness.


DiMera mansion - Part 1: Stefano showers Kate with compliments. Kate tells that lifts her spirits. Stefano's spirits would be lifted if she considered what they talked about the last time they were alone together. Kate was certain he wasn't serious. Stefano knows it was sudden but it was genuinely heartfelt. He truly hoped that she would marry him. He wonders if she came over to finally accept his proposal. Kate tells him that her illness has made her see her life differently. If she married him her life would change completely and that's appealing in its way. She reminds him that she told him at that time that she felt they had a special connection. He got her and Lucas off the streets and for that she will be forever indebted to him. Stefano doesn't want her to feel beholden. She says she really does feel like her spirits are lifted when she is with him but she is not ready to commit to anything or anyone. Stefano tells her that he knows there is someone else. He always knows about these things. A man without information is a man without power. Kate says what he needs to know about Daniel now is that he saved her life and they are very special friends.

Stefano raises his glass to EJ and says well done. EJ says it was testimony from one of Nick's friends that did the trick. Stefano thinks it was very clever of him to take over for Mickey Horton because it is always good to have a family like the Horton's indebted to him. EJ says I see - I'm learning how to play it. Stefano says you certainly are. Your future is not only bright, it's brilliant.


Daniel's apt - Part 2: Daniel and Chloe are naked in front of the fire, kissing and basking in the afterglow when Kate knocks on his door. Cue startled looks. They scurry to get dressed as Kate keeps knocking. Daniel tells her he was asleep; he'll be there as soon as he gets some clothes on. Chloe grabs her clothes and heads into the bathroom. Kate found his pager last night. Daniel is flustered; Kate asks if she is interrupting something. Daniel gives her an excuse about so much going on. Kate hopes he doesn't think she was coming by to start things up again. He says no she was very clear that she wants to focus on her health and family. Kate leaves. Chloe comes out and says - oh my god, Daniel, do you see what you're doing to that woman? Her son, her family mean more than anything to her. Daniel never wanted this to happen but it has and it's so out of control. Chloe says this is not happening ever again. Part of Daniel wants to say walk away, bury it and no one will get hurt. Chloe says exactly. Daniel answers that won't work. They can't seem to bury their feelings. They have to be honest. They're not trying to hurt anyone but he doesn't know how they can just walk away from what they feel. Chloe walks out.

Courtroom: Melanie goes back inside and whines to Max about his ex-girlfriend and Philip swapping spit. Chelsea is now there as Stephanie and Philip return to the courtroom. Philip tells Melanie that they should head out to the meeting. Chelsea objects to them acting like this is a just an ordinary day. Melanie asks if they're supposed to go into mourning. Chelsea just wants her to pretend like she cares. Nick is being sent to jail for a long time. Nick is brought into the courtroom. He didn't think he'd see Chelsea again. She's sorry - she was at the hospital. Nick tells Max that he had Uncle Mickey deliver a copy of his patent and blue prints for the fuel project. It's a lot of responsibility for one person. Max asks if he doesn't trust his sister. Nick does but there are a lot of people that he doesn't trust. A lot of people are going to want in on this thing and he wants to keep it safe. He asks them to promise him that it will stay out of the wrong hands. They promise.

Nick asks to speak to Chelsea alone so Max leaves. Nick tells Chelsea he wouldn't trade the time they spent together for anything. He knows that in the last few months he wasn't there for her and he hurt her. Chelsea knows why - it was Melanie and the pills - it wasn't him. He's going to get help and that sweet, smart, funny person she knew will be back. He asks if she thinks she will come and visit him. She asks him he knows how important he is to her and to a lot of people. He wants her to go on with her life. She says part of going on with her life is thinking about him. She has regrets too - you don't know what you have until it's gone. He wants her to be happy. She wants him to get better and know that he will always be in her heart. The guard calls to Nick. Chelsea hugs him and kisses his cheek and walks out.


Brady pub - Part 1: Brady joins Marlena. He tells Marlena that he's been talking to John, doing some digging and he's discovered that there is something from John's past that means everything to him. Marlena asks what. Brady answers - do you really have to ask. Brady tells her that he wants her back. He wants to find himself for her and her alone. John admitted that he doesn't feel a connection to anyone else. Marlena thinks that will change when John is himself again. Brady doesn't think so and he comes to terms with that. When he looks at him he sees John; it's like his Dad isn't there. He thinks he's lost to him forever. Part of him wonders if he doesn't deserve this - he never came home for holidays ... Marlena cuts in and insists that he had a life of his own and they understood that.


Charlotte's office - Part 1: John doesn't understand any of this. First she said his only chance of regaining his memories was hypnosis and now she's writing him off. She's just trying to be honest with. John asks that in her professional opinion what are his odds of getting his memory back. She answers - essentially zero. John asks if she is saying that because the one session was a bust she can't do anything for him. She reminds him that she told him hypnosis was a last resort. His case is complicated. John says screw it and walks out. Charlotte mutters to herself that she can help him, just not in the way he thinks.


DiMera mansion - Part 1: EJ tells Stefano that he didn't represent Nick to gain brownie points with the Horton's. Stefano says ahhh ... you were doing it out of the goodness of your heart. EJ tells Stefano he's come across a tidbit of information and he thinks it will be of great interest to him and the DiMera Lexie. This information he's become privy to could help restore the DiMera reputation world-wide as well as providing a substantial income for generations to come. The problem will be wrestling it from its current owner, Victor Kiriakis. When it comes to family one does what one must. Elvis returns to the living room to find Stefano and a crib. Stefano had it hand-crafted in Italy. There's also a teddy bear in the crib that is a collector's item. He got one for Giovanni as well. EJ's cell rings. It's Nicole. When Nicole doesn't sound too thrilled that he's at home he asks if that's a problem. EJ and Stefano are getting ready to leave. EJ says they need to move quickly on this. Stefano was afraid that EJ would have a little compunction about this course of action now that he's settling down. EJ says that's why he's doing this; for Nicole and their child.


Mia's apt: Nicole begs. Mia asks Nicole if losing her baby has made her so sad and unhappy why is she telling her to give up hers. She doesn't see how she's supposed to go through with this. Angry Nicole declares that Mia can't compare their situations. Her child deserves a good life and what about her dreams of going to Japan and being a dancer. She's young; she has her whole life ahead of her. Mia points out that this isn't about her, it's about her baby. Nicole claims she isn't pressuring her but she feels that Mia wants to do right thing and she knows what that is. Mia thinks the whole thing about Nicole's fiancé is so sketchy. If Nicole is so afraid to tell him the truth maybe she should be afraid of him as well. Nicole says she was in a really bad place so she lied and then one lie became another. If she could go back she would change things. Mia wants to know about him. Nicole lays it on thick. She knows he is a great dad because he is to his son from a previous marriage. He's so good to him, he's so nurturing. Her baby will be so lucky to have a Dad like EJ.

If she can't meet the father she should at least see the place her baby is going to live. Nicole isn't sure about that. Mia says it's not like she's asking that much so Nicole will see what she can do. Nicole is on the phone to EJ - she quickly covers when he asks about her not being happy. She says she knows Mary has the day off so maybe they can have some alone time. She quickly shoots down his suggestion of having some 'afternoon delight' claiming Dr. Baker said they can't do that. When EJ informs her that he has to go with his father to a meeting she pretends to be disappointed. Nicole has her padding in place. Mia comments that it feels real. Isn't her fiancé suspicious. Nicole brags that she can be persuasive. Mia wonders what will happen to her baby if he finds out. Nicole declares he won't. Mia says she can't promise that. Nicole can promise that she will always be there for the child.


Brady pub - Part 2: John comes in and joins them. He says - I need a second opinion Doc. Marlena is thrilled that he called her Doc. He says doctor as in I want to ask you a medical question. Brady leaves them alone. John tells Marlena he is confused. Dr Taylor did this 180 - says hypnosis isn't going to work. She can't help him so she's going to pack it in. Does she have any suggestions. Marlena does. She kisses him. She apologises. John isn't complaining - it reminds him of what he's fighting for. Marlena asks if Dr. Taylor is sure hypnosis didn't work. John is pretty sure that's what zero chance means. John asks if she is having doubts about the doctor. Marlena admits that she felt him seeing an impartial third party would be best but the more she thinks about it, nobody knows him as well as she does. She pulls out a charm bracelet and asks him if it means anything to him. It doesn't. She says it was nine years ago - they were heading to New Orleans for New Years - insert flashback. John touches it and closes his eyes. Marlena asks if he is remembering something. Nothing, sorry. It's frustrating. Marlena tells that they'll keep trying - she has a feeling. She thinks they are so close to a breakthrough. John says if that doesn't happen will she accept him for the man he is now. Charlotte comes in - she wants to talk to John alone. Marlena leaves.

Charlotte comments that it seemed like he and Marlena were having an intense conversation. John was hoping that she could help him remember some things. Charlotte tells John that Marlena is not his psychiatrist. He shouldn't be going behind her back discussing his case with another doctor and Marlena should have known better than to encourage it. She doesn't want a second opinion to compromise any progress they could have made. John says Marlena couldn't help him anyway. Charlotte thinks she can help him. Outside Marlena tells Brady that she had a problem with Charlotte from day one. It's her demeanour - she's been oddly hostile and sometimes downright rude with her. Brady says - but you recommended her. Marlena recommended her father. She goes on to say Charlotte's behaviour to her is a matter of complete indifference. It's her defeatist attitude with John that bothers her. She had one hypnosis session with him and determined he's beyond help. Brady thinks that is crazy. How could she know that? Marlena says she can't. She tells Brady that while talking to John she had a sense the hypnotherapy was beginning to work. Brady thought she said he hadn't remembered anything. Marlena shrugs - maybe it's wishful thinking. Her hands are tied. She is ethically bound to step back and let them make their own decisions. She has to go. They hug. After she leaves Brady says that her hands may be tied but his aren't. Charlotte tells John that she would like to help him make a smooth transition to his new life. Even if he never gets his memory back he could have a very fulfilling life. He did it before with Marlena. John says yeah, but the circumstances were different. Charlotte says there are people in Salem who do not want the best for him. It's her professional opinion that he should leave this town and all the baggage that goes with it. He doesn't have to be the John Black from yesterday. She can help him be a whole new man.


Titan: The meeting is over. Melanie actually enjoyed it - it was fun. Philip was surprised by not just about the meeting but what she did for Nick. It was a side of her he hadn't seen before and he likes that person. Melanie tells him that it means a lot coming from him. Stephanie comes along and asks if the meeting went well. Melanie gushes about Philip's performance; Philip downplays it - Melanie flirts with him, touching him and telling him he's so cute when he's embarrassed. Philip just tells her to excuse him and Stephanie. He asks Stephanie if everything is okay. She's just feeling bad about Nick. Philip says let's stop thinking about Nick and focus on the surprise he's going to give her. They banter as he teases her that he won't give a hint. Melanie tells them she's not feeling good - she's going to leave unless Philip needs her. He says he doesn't. She leaves.


DiMera mansion - Part 2: Mia and Nicole arrive. They are outside the mansion. Mia goes on and on about all the money they must have. Nicole doesn't like the conversation so she tells Mia that she can only give her so much money. Mia asks if she thinks she's going to use this kid as a lottery ticket. To be honest it creeps her out that she's selling her baby. She wants enough to cover medical and travel expenses - enough to be comfortable. They go inside. Nicole checks that no one is at home. They're in the living room. Mia is impressed with the crib - this makes it all feel so real. Nicole says her baby is going to be so happy here. Mia sees a picture of EJ and Johnny - wow he does look like her old boyfriend. Nicole hopes she has seen enough to put her mind at ease. Mia sees the portrait of Stefano and asks who that is. Nicole is about to answer when Tony comes in and says well hello, friend of yours, Nicole?


Cheating Heart: EJ walks up to Melanie - he's glad he found her. He thanks her for her testimony today. He feels that Nick wouldn't have gotten a light sentence if it wasn't for her. Melanie shrugs - everyone deserves a second chance. Melanie wants to know if her testimony was what he wanted to talk to her about. EJ says there is something else he wants to talk to her about.


Waterfront: Marlena leaves a message for Charlotte. She wants to consult about a patient - it's urgent. Call ASAP.


Charlotte's office - Part 2: Brady wants into the common area and asks Cynthia if Marlena is back. She should be back shortly - Cynthia goes out for lunch. Brady goes into Charlotte's office and opens her laptop. He finds the video of John's session.

DiMera mansion - Part 1: Nicole avoids EJ questions and tells that she meant the girl at the center and they bonded. She was here as her guest. EJ feels that he should have been informed. Nicole sarcastically says she must have missed the memo that said she had to clear every little thing with him. EJ explains that he is her fiancé; he has a right to know what is going on in her life instead of hearing them from his sarcastic brother. It makes him look like a fool. When Nicole asks if he thinks she kept it from him deliberately his answer is 'you might.' He asks if she is hiding something. When she says no he wants her to answer his question. She declares his question is offensive. What's also offensive is Tony running off to gossip to him about her life just to make him mad. She claims Tony is jealous and this is his way of getting back at him; making EJ think that she is untrustworthy or up to something. All she is doing is some volunteer work and Tony is blabbing about it like it's headline news. EJ says it's news in her life. She wanted to tell about it but he's never been around; he's busy at work. That's the reason she hasn't told him. It's not like she's been at the center for months; it's only been a couple of days. EJ buys her lies and ends up apologising to her. He over-reacted; he's proud of her. EJ than confesses that he's the one withholding information. He's handling negotiation for his father that's very hush-hush so when she asks him how his day was he feels guilty because he can't tell her. Nicole says he's sweet and the best person she knows. She hopes he can forgive her. He already has. She isn't talking about this; she's been keeping something from him.

There's two things actually but she'll start with this - she hands him Mia's ultrasound picture. She claims she had it done today. EJ is upset she didn't call him. She didn't want to bother him at work. EJ tells her work can wait for things like this. Nicole tells him that in one or two weeks she's going to do some travelling for her charity work. EJ asks - travelling in your condition? She tells him she's pregnant - she doesn't have a disease. She's going to be giving speeches at other teen centers in the state - kind of like what she does here. EJ is so proud of her. Nicole doesn't think doing charity work is anything to brag about. EJ states that he'll come with her. Nicole says no - he's so busy. EJ will clear his schedule. He gets a call he has to take. After he walks out of the room Nicole mutters that EJ can't come with her ... her cell rings. It's Mia - I'm in labour. I'm on my way to the clinic.


Brady pub - Part 1: John wants to know why Kayla doesn't think Dr. Taylor is trustworthy. Kayla chalks it up to a professional judgement call; a gut feeling. John tells her she has to do better than that. Kayla asks if he is aware that they are talking about a serious professional problem here. John thinks Blondie put her up to this. Kayla denies that. She tells him that earlier at the hospital she had to intervene in a heated dispute between Dr. Taylor and Marlena. John assumes they were fighting over him. Kayla corrects him; not over him but about him and his therapy. Charlotte's behaviour was really inappropriate. Charlotte got very angry and at one point Kayla really thought she was going to hit Marlena. She has serious doubt's about Charlotte's mental state. John responds - so you're saying my shrink needs a shrink. Kayla is saying that Charlotte's behaviour worries her. He doesn't have to take her word for it. Go talk to her for himself - see what's going on.


Charlotte's office - Part 1: Charlotte panics when she realises that someone used her computer and saw John's video file; who would do this to her? Kevin from technical support arrives. She needs to find out who it was. Kevin is working on the computer - she sent that video file as an email. Charlotte freaks - she didn't. Who was on her computer? She realises she was yelling so she covers by saying that having her privacy violated like this really rattled her. Kevin says the person that sent the file did a pretty good job of covering their tracks but not good enough. The file went to another computer and the name of the recipient is Dr. Marlena Evans.


Marlena's home - Part 1: Marlena watches the video that Brady sent to her. She tells Brady - 'that's our John; he's remembering.' Brady responds that means Charlotte Taylor has been lying and they have proof. Marlena tells Brady to turn it off. What he did was unethical and illegal. Brady says you just saw the real story, Dad's memories are coming back. Has that not registered with her? Of course it did. Why would she tell him that he didn't remember anything. Brady responds - who cares? She's been lying to a patient; isn't that illegal; isn't that unethical? Marlena says they have to decide how to handle this. Brady knows how they're going to handle this. Charlotte Taylor has been messing with his dad's head and you damn well better believe she's going to pay. Marlena tells him he can't confront her about this. Brady wants to know why not - his father is having a major breakthrough and she's denying it; she's lying about it. Marlena wonders why she would do that - how she could keep that from him. She goes on to say that John said her name; he said he loved her. She's waited so long to hear him say that. She was afraid she wouldn't hear it again. Her prayers have been answered. His father is coming home to them. Marlena apologises to Brady for making this all about her; he must be so emotional.

She knows how much he misses his father. Brady does but right now he's focused on this doctor and why she would lie to him. They have to confront her. Marlena tells him they have to proceed with extreme caution. Brady agrees but they have to start now. What do they do first? Marlena tells him he isn't going to do anything. She will handle it. Trust her on this; when she is finished with Dr. Charlotte Taylor she will be praying to get her life back.


Safe house - Part 1: Rafe finishes a call just as Sami comes out of the bathroom ranting that there is no hot water again. She finally notices how silent and upset Rafe is. What's wrong. It's Hilda. She was murdered. Sami asks if she was working on a dangerous case. She starts crying talking about how Hilda was knitting these booties for her baby. They always pretended she was such a tough cookie but she was really sweet. Rafe says she had a good heart. Sami can't believe she's dead. Is it because of her. Rafe tells her it's not her fault; Hilda wasn't even working on her case anymore. Sami repeats that she can't believe it; she just saw her; she was just here. Rafe - What? Sami says she was here when he was sick. Rafe says that's the day I passed out when I got out of the shower, right? Sami confirms that. Rafe tells her that's the day the Bureau thinks she was murdered. Probably right after she was here. Sami concludes that if Hilda was killed right after she left here the place isn't safe anymore. Rafe tells her that exactly when and how she was killed is only theory right now. If the killer had gotten to her right after she left here the killer would have showed up already. So obviously their location hasn't been compromised yet. There's definitely a rat in the bureau that is feeding the guy information on Sami's case. It may not be why Hilda was killed but they have to get the hell out of here. Someplace that his supervisor doesn't even know so that he can't tell anyone below him so there's no possibility of a leak. Sami says she'll pack. Rafe needs to know if anything else happened that day Hilda was here. Did she see or hear anything weird? He sees the look on her face and realises that something else did happen. She has to tell him what it was. Her life, his life and her baby's life depend on it.

Rafe yells - he can't protect her if she keeps things from him. He needs to know what happened NOW! Sami went to see Sister Theresa. He was asleep and she needed to talk to her - it was her chance. She says it's okay - he can lecture her. Rafe doesn't see the point of lecturing her considering she's probably not long for this world. Congratulations, you've probably just signed your own death warrant. Sami blows up - who taught him to talk like that - like it's okay to tell the person you're protecting ... Rafe yells at her. Not ten minutes ago she was bawling her eyes out because this old friend of hers had her brains splattered all over the sidewalk. Not everything is a game. She's aware of that. Rafe wants to know why she went to see Sister Theresa. When she says she wants to protect her unborn child he asks if she still believes a nun in a convent can protect her child from the DiMera's. That's why she wanted to talk to her, isn't it? Rafe hopes she wrote down all the details because that was probably the last time she's going to see her. Sami asks why. He answers because his job is to protect her and the baby despite the fact that she's doing everything she can to make it impossible.

She goes out in public so she can have a chat with a nun. If Hilda was killed outside this building the killer is out that canvassing the neighbour. He's handing out pocket change to the homeless and the kids and he has her picture. He's asking if anyone seen this girl and all it takes is one pair of eyes to say yeah I did, I saw her in that building right there. You wanna tell me what's going to happen to you when the killer gets hold of that information? Sami cries.She didn't mean for this to happen. Rafe doesn't want her getting all emotional on him. Sami yells for him to stop it. She feels guilty and responsible; Hilda is dead and it's probably her fault. The killer is coming after her and he's going to hurt her baby - she sobs hysterically. Rafe tells her that no one is going to hurt her or the baby. Maybe the killer is out there asking about her - that's what an agent would do. They can't lose sight of the fact that he doesn't have the information or he'd already be here. Sami asks if they are still going to another safe house that the killer doesn't know about. Rafe tells her he will get her there safe; he knows there is hot window there. Sami tells him he's a good provider. That's what he does - make people happy. He's being ironic. Sami says they're going somewhere different but it's not really different.

They're going to be doing the same thing. Rafe says no they're not going to be waiting, hoping and praying. Sami asks what is going to be different. Rafe answers - I'm going to take this killer down. I'm going to nail the bastard. Sami is flipping through the TV channels looking for the weather channel. Rafe tells her to pack - it's cold. That's all she needs to know. His cell rings. Sami heads off to the bathroom to get her sweater. Sami hears his end of the conversation. She wants to know what they said. Rafe puts the clip into his gun. The killer got into the FBI' main computer. When he killed Hilda he took her ID and logged in. Sami asks - didn't they cancel her access into the computer after they out she was dead. Rafe tells her they only found the body a couple of hours ago and when they went to cancel the access that's when they found out. Sami asks what he knows. Rafe tells her he knows every case Hilda worked on, every location - like here if he knew how to read the codes, that is. They have to go. He tells Sami to leave her bag. Stay close to him and if she hears any shots, stay down.


Killer's hideout: The killer talks to himself as he accesses the FBI files using Hilda's access. All you have to do is show me where they're hiding the cute, little blonde; the one who is going to die tonight. The killer finds Sami's file. After some searching he finds the codes for the safe house. He jots them down and thanks Hilda for all her help.


Charlotte's office - Part 2: Charlotte is packing stuff into a tote bag ranting about Marlena - calling her a bitch. John knocks and comes in. She tells him she can't talk to him; she has a meeting. He wants to know what she and Blondie were fighting about. Charlotte claims they had words; what did she tell him. John tells her he hasn't talked to Blondie; he's asking her. Charlotte says that Marlena wanted to talk about their last session. Charlotte claims she refused because it's unethical and Marlena got aggravated and hysterical; Kayla had to intervene. John - and that's it? Charlotte wants to know what Kayla told him. John answers - that you are not to be trusted. Charlotte responds - who the hell is Kayla Johnson to pass judgement. John thinks Blondie is jealous because they're spending so much time together and they're not letting her in on what's going on. Charlotte thinks that may be true. John adds that Kayla is pretty good friends with his ex. Charlottes says so of course she would side with Marlena. She thinks John has figured this out quite nicely. John figured out something else too - this therapy business is more trouble than it's worth. He has enough problems already; he doesn't need to stir up more things in his mind. This therapy is over; I'm not coming back. She asks if she can change his mind. John says they tried but with the hypnosis failing why bother trying. Charlotte says he's made so much progress in the other areas she was kind of hoping ... she stops and says no, it's your decision and she'll stand by it. John leaves. Charlotte throws stuff off her desk and yells 'Marlena!'


Marlena's home - Part 2: Marlena is on the phone with Dr. Hanson. She knows that he worked closely with Dr. Taylor at the university and she'd like to ask a few questions about her. Marlena gets off the phone and says I knew it. Marlena answers her door - it's Charlotte. She thinks they need to talk. Marlena thinks that's an understatement. Marlena invites her in. She'll finish up her call and then they'll have a nice long chat.


Brady pub - Part 2: EJ comes into the pub and spots Brady - he'd like a quick word with him. Brady tells him if it's about Nicole he's got nothing to say. EJ wants to know how often he's been to the house lately - about dozen times? He'd like him to explain what those visits were about. Brady tells EJ if he wants to get all jealous, go ahead because if he really wants to know he's had enough of Nicole and her drama. Brady leaves.

John is now at the pub and Brady joins him. John notices that he looks cold. Brady says he's been out walking around. There's something he needs to tell him about his doctor, Charlotte Taylor. She isn't who she says she is.


Clinic: Nicole rushes into Mia's room and sees that Mia is crying. What's wrong - is it the baby? Mia says the baby is fine; everything's good. She doesn't know why she was crying; she was just so scared. She thought she was in labour ... Dr. Baker walks in. He tells Mia she's not in labour - she experienced Braxton Hicks contractions. She can go home. Nicole asks if that is wise: is she dilated. Dr. Baker says a couple of centimeters. Nicole says that means it can happen at any time; even today. Dr. Baker says yes but Mia should be prepared. Mia is; she has her stuff all packed. Dr. Baker says good; there's a lot at stake here. We can't afford any problems.


DiMera mansion - Part 2: Nicole comes down the stairs with a tote bag - she grabs her purse just as EJ comes up behind her and asks her where she's off to.


Safe house - Part 2: The killer comes in with gun drawn and checks out the apartment. He sees Sami's bag and throws it down.


Convent: Rafe is sure they weren't followed. Sami wants to know when they're leaving. He says, they're not. Sami says what about the safe house you mentioned. He tells her that all the safe houses are listed in the computer. He's good at improvising - she'll be safe. Now she'll get to spend as much time as she wants with Sister Theresa. Right now Sami just wants to be safe. Can he promise her that. No, he can't; until the killer is caught neither one of them is safe.


Preview: EJ to Nicole - You and that baby are going nowhere! Lucas to Chloe - What's going on? Chloe - We're leaving town. Bo to Hope - You know what Fancy Face, I think I'm gonna quit. Sami throwing her arms around Rafe - Please don't go. Rafe - Sami. Sami - Please don't leave me alone.

Horton cabin: Lucas wonders if Chloe had an accident or something; she was upset. Daniel says that Chloe has been upset a lot lately. Lucas wants to know why they're talking about this. Dan thinks Chloe is going through something and trying to cover it up. Lucas tells Dan that if there is something wrong with Chloe just tell him. Dan says she's stressed. Lucas tells him they had a fight, that's why she's stressed. Dan says he ran into her on the pier, she was stressed and told him they were going away. He doesn't think she should go with Lucas. Lucas asks if it's too soon after the transplant. Dan says the reason he is there is not just medical; there's more. Daniel wants to know what their fight was about. Lucas says none of your damned business. Daniel asks if he's noticed that Chloe has been stressed for quite some time. He has - does Daniel think it's affecting her health. Dan doesn't know - he's worried about her personally. When Chloe said they were leaving together he thought maybe they were eloping. Lucas tells him that Chloe has an audition in Vancouver. Chloe wanted to spend some time alone with him - why is this any of his business.

Lucas gets a call from Julie about Allie. He says he's not going to Vancouver so he'll come pick her up. After the call he tells Dan he doesn't have a lot of time - what did he want to tell him? Dan says so Allie has a tape of Chloe singing? Lucas says it helps her fall asleep when she's upset. Dan mutters - so they're that close. Lucas says yes they are. Daniel says that when he ran into Chloe and saw how stressed she was he wanted her to talk to Lucas - to relieve some of the stress. He realises now that it is none of his business. Lucas agrees. Daniel guesses his feelings for Chloe were a little over-protective. She stepped up to the plate for Kate - he just got caught up in it all. Lucas says they had a fight - it doesn't mean he doesn't love her or that he can't take care of her. He wants what is best for her so Daniel doesn't have to worry about her. Daniel says he's sorry. Lucas asks if he should tell her not to go to Vancouver - to have a check-up with Dr. Johnson? Daniel says no - he thinks Chloe just has to figure this out for herself.

Lucas has returned - Allie is asleep. He tries calling Chloe again.


DiMera mansion: Chloe lets slip the fact that Sami is pregnant. Nicole assumes that Lucas is the father. She rambles on and calls Sami a bitch and then she rants about Lucas. Does Sami want Lucas back? She goes on and on about how that bastard Lucas is so weak he can't stay away from that whore and he didn't use protection. Finally Chloe tells her that Lucas isn't the father. Nicole declares that he is lying - who else could it be? Chloe answers EJ. Nicole is going to kill Sami. Nicole claims that Sami is lying - EJ doesn't know anything about this. Chloe tells her how Sami pleaded with Lucas not to tell anyone that she was pregnant. Why would she be so desperate to keep it a secret if the baby wasn't EJ's. Nicole wants to know how long Chloe has known about this - was it before Sami left. She asks - why didn't you tell me? Chloe couldn't - she was so happy with EJ and she had promised Lucas she wouldn't. Nicole rants that life was so good. Why is this happening to her life? She won't let that bitch ruin things for her and EJ.

Nicole wants to know why Sami called Lucas. Chloe says apparently she's very scared. The guy killed someone that was guarding her. Nicole snaps - but not her? Chloe points out that it may be Sami's fault that she's pregnant but she didn't ask to see that killer. Nicole rants that Sami gets no sympathy for anything. Chloe goes on to say that Sami had to leave the safe house - she's hiding in a convent. Nicole calls Sami Sr. Slut. Nicole thinks she and Sami finally have something in common - neither wants to tell EJ about Sami's baby. Chloe thinks maybe the two of them can work something out. Nicole wants the name of the convent. Chloe gives her the name - why does she want it. Nicole is hoping they can get that little piece of information to the guy who is trying to kill Sami. Chloe can't believe she said. That man is trying to kill Sami and Nicole wants to help him. She's pregnant with EJ's baby. Nicole says her life is finally where she can see a future - Sami's not even here and she still manages to tear her world apart. So for a fleeting second she wants her dead - deal with it. Chloe doesn't see how Sami is trying to tear Nicole's world apart - she doesn't even want EJ to know that he's the father. Nicole thinks Sami is lying about that. She brings up the custody fight - Sami lost in her mind. She doesn't want another battle so she runs away and once she has the baby and EJ finds out he has a child he might never see - what a bargaining chip!!! Chloe says - who thinks like that. Nicole says she does and so does Sami. They have some of the same traits. Nicole tells Chloe to not tell Lucas that she told her about Sami. She doesn't know what she's going to do - she has to think about it. Chloe leaves and Nicole looks up the address of the convent.


Safe house: The killer is glad they met up again so he can finish the job he started. Rafe says don't count on it and makes his move. They struggle, the killer ends up with the gun. He tells Rafe he's going to die but first he's going to tell him where the blond bitch is. The killer has Rafe died to a chair with a gun to his head - Sami Brady, where is she? Rafe claims he never heard of her. The killer says that was a stupid answer. He mentions Hilda - she played a real funny trick on him - she's dead now. Rafe tells him that Hilda was federal - he's going to get the needle. The killer says that assumes I'm going to get caught. That's not going to happen especially after I take out little Miss Brady. Where is she?

Rafe doesn't know who he's talking about - is he going to shoot him now? The killer says if he's dead he can't talk and he is going to talk - he promises him that. He'll tell him everything. The killer is holding Sami's medal - he tells Rafe he can tell him where Miss Brady is or he can pass the time here while he goes out and starts killing members of her family. Rafe tells him he doesn't have to do that. The killer says are you going to tell me where she is. Rafe will give him a clue - she's right under his thumb. The killer looks down and Rafe attacks. They fight but once again the killer prevails.


Convent: Sami tells St Theresa her baby is due soon and she doesn't know what she's going to do when it comes. Sr. Theresa wants to know why she is so frightened of the baby's father. Sami doesn't know where to start. Sr. T suggests she start by telling her who she really is. Sami tells her name is Samantha Brady and Ryan is Rafe Hernandez. He's been assigned to protect her; she can ID a killer. She's in witness protection. She fought against going into witness protection until she realised that if she was in the program the baby's father wouldn't know she was pregnant. She's hiding as much from him as she is the killer. Sr T asks if she hates the baby's father that much. She doesn't hate the father - but his family, mainly his father. She shares another child with this man, Johnny. They share custody - Johnny spends half his time living in a house that is pure evil - his grandfather is pure evil. Sr T says her organization takes evil very seriously. She gave up her life to keep this baby safe from that family. Sami knew it wasn't permanent but it would give her time to figure out what to do. She wants the sister to help her hide her baby.

Sr. T asks for how long. Sami doesn't know. Even if the killer is caught she can't go back until after the baby is born. She can't take the baby with her because the baby's father would know it was his. Sr T says the child will need his or her mother. Sami knows - it will only be until she figures something out. Sr T asks if she is sure she can't talk to the child's father about this. Sami knows that he loves Johnny so much - they don't see eye to eye on the baby's grandfather - he's a horrible person who has done evil things to her, her family and the community. He loves hurting people. She would never give up on Johnny but she feels like she has already lost him to that family. She can't let that happen to this baby. Please help her hide the baby. She'll come and visit. Sr T says that's not enough. Sami knows that - she's asking for help. Sr T thinks this would just postpone things. That's exactly what Sami wants until she figures out what to do. Sr. T tells she needs to think more about this and pray. She leaves Sami alone. Sami lights a candle - she realises her medal is missing - she must have dropped it in the loft. She kneels and prays. She tells God she honestly needs his help because she's not sure how much more of this she can take. Nicole comes in behind her.


Marlena's home - Part 1: Marlena tells Brady to get her bag and get out a syringe and adrenalin. She asks Bo to take over doing the compressions. Marlena plunges the syringe into his chest praying for him to wake up. Bo and Marlena keep working on John as Charlotte taunts them that they're too late. Bo tells Hope to take her out. Marlena tells Brady to find out from Charlotte what was in the syringe. Marlena encourages John to hang on and fight, stay alive. Bo and Marlena are still working on John - John starts breathing on his own. Marlena tells him he's going to be okay - keep breathing.


Hospital: Kayla is there when John is brought in. Marlena tells him that the EMT's have the syringe Charlotte used - she'll want to have it sent to the lab and analyzed - she's not sure what Charlotte used. Brady says he should have killed her - she's so arrogant. Marlena says she is so disturbed. Brady tells her that he showed the tape to John - the look on his face - he loves her so much. Marlena tells Brady that John loves him too. Marlena reminds him of what a fighter John is - he's not giving up, not now, not ever. Kayla comes out of John's room. He's stabilized but he's had an episode. Marlena asks if it was a stroke. Kayla will know more when she gets the test results back. Brady wants to go in and see him. Kayla says yes and talk to him. They're not sure he understands - they don't know the extent of the damage. Brady goes into John's room. Marlena tells Kayla that she should know that she saw a tape of John's hypnosis. They can talk about the review board later but she thinks it's important that she know that John remembered things - he remembered her and Charlotte kept that from him. John was told about it. Kayla encourages her to talk to him about their memories. Marlena isn't sure that he could access those memories now - that happened under hypnosis. Brady comes out and says I think he already has.

Brady flashes his cell and suggests to Marlena that they talk alone. Marlena tells him that she told Kayla that she had taken the tape of John's hypnosis. Brady tells Kayla that Marlena didn't take it, he did. Kayla tells them that it doesn't matter right now - what happened in there? He showed John the tape again and when it came to the part where he was saying Marlena's name he squeezed his hand. And then he said 'light.' Marlena says no, no, no and rushes to John's side. She talks to him - she tells him she needs to reach him and he needs to reach her. They can reach each other through their memories - they can do that because they have the most beautiful memories in the world. Cue flashbacks. The first one is of Marlena handing him a key to his new place and him asking her out for dinner. Outside John's room Kayla tells Brady that they've identified the drug in the syringe - Dr. Taylor sure meant business. Brady asks if there is an antidote. Kayla says there's nothing they can do at this point. Marlena kept John alive and now they have to wait and see what kind of recovery he makes. The next flashback is of their remarriage when he believed he was Roman. Then the pier ... John goes into convulsions. Kayla and Brady come rushing in. John is stabilized. They leave Marlena alone with him. She kisses him and tells him she loves him. Some flashbacks of them making love, another wedding - John's eyes open. He says - I remember.


Marlena's home - Part 2: Bo tells Charlotte that they're going to take her down to the station and have a nice long talk. She wants to know if they heard from the hospital. Is John still alive or is Marlena officially in mourning. Hope tells her that they won't be giving her any information on John or Marlena. Bo wonders if she had her fingers part when she said that part of the oath 'first do no harm?' Charlotte thinks he should ask Marlena about all the harm she did to her. Bo - did she stick you full of a syringe with ... what was that again? Charlotte didn't tell them. She imagines the lab technicians are frantically trying to figure that out. Marlena must be beside herself. Hope thinks Marlena is probably with John. She also thinks John will recover and that the two of them are going to be very happy together while Charlotte is passing her time in a rubber room. Charlotte says no. She doesn't care what happens to her but that bitch - she smiles - I ruined her life. Even if John survives he's never going to be the same. He won't be the man that he was - ever! Hope thinks it's time to escort Dr Taylor to the squad car before she's tempted to do something unprofessional. Hope looks at a picture of John and Marlena and says don't let the crazy lady win guys.


Daniel's apt: Chloe shows up. Daniel didn't expect to see her. She tells him she had a fight with Lucas. Dan knows - he went to see Lucas to tell him about the two of them. He didn't because he realised that it wasn't just Lucas - there's Allie and she needs Chloe. He also realised that both he and Lucas love her and when you love someone you don't destroy their life. Chloe - you mean it's over? Daniel thinks it's what best. Chloe asks him what they do now? He answers - say goodbye. She kisses him.


Preview: Naked Daniel to naked Chloe - I'm only ashamed of the deception so let's end it. Let's tell everyone the truth. Kayla to Marlena - If he stays here even one more day his chances of recovery are slim. Nicole to Sami - You don't deserve a baby. Sami - Somebody help me. Help. Nicole bludgeons her with a statuette of the Virgin Mother.

Off the top: I focused primarily on the hospital scenes as this is the final airdate for Drake and Deidre. I just touched on the other stuff that happened in the show.

Here's the report:

Horton cabin: Kate comes to the cabin and finds out that Lucas cancelled his trip to Vancouver because Sami called him. Kate is not happy and rants about Sami destroying everything she touches. Lucas doesn't know where Chloe is - he's left her messages. Perhaps Daniel would know where she is. He tells Kate about Daniel's visit to the cabin and why he was there. Kate finds that strange. She doesn't want Lucas to call him; she has a better idea. She doesn't like the way she ended things with him; she'll talk to him. Kate leaves. Lucas leaves another message for Chloe - he wants her to come home.


Daniel's apt: After initiating the kiss Chloe decides they can't do this again. They decide Chloe should leave but she doesn't make it out of the apartment - they're all over one another. They have sex. Chloe tells him that when she looks in his eyes she knows that this is more than her wanting him and he wanting her. Daniel isn't ashamed of his feelings for her but he's ashamed of the deception. He suggests they tell everyone the truth. Chloe says they can't do that. Chloe is dressed and ready to leave - Dan hates that they are hurting people. Chloe says that the way he cares about others is one of the reasons she loves him. Dan's phone rings and someone knocks on the door. He tells Chloe to get the door - he's expecting test results. It's Kate at the door. Chloe hesitates before answering. Kate decides that talking to Daniel isn't the right thing to do so she walks away - Chloe opens the door and sees Kate leaving - she ducks back into the apartment.


DiMera mansion: EJ returns and wonders where Nicole is. Stefano hasn't seen her. EJ vows to go after her if she went to Chicago. Stefano is off to Italy to save the DiMera fortune - he'll back home tomorrow. He gets a call and exclaims 'Dear God!' He tells EJ what happened to John - how could this happen? EJ tells an angry and upset Stefano that he will go to Italy so that Stefano can go and see John. EJ calls Nicole and believes every lie she tells him. He writes her a note and leaves.


Convent: Nicole stands behind Sami and has a sick and twisted fantasy about bludgeoning Sami with a statue of Mary. Sr T brings Sami lunch. Nicole slithers out and eavesdrops on the conversation. She doesn't want to eat - she's worried about Rafe. Sr T thinks Rafe can take care of himself. Sami has decided after praying that the best thing for her to do is leave the baby with Sr T until she can decide what to do next. Sr T agrees. She asks Sami if she'll be able to contact her from wherever Rafe will take her next because she'll have to know where she delivers the baby. Sami doesn't know. She knows she can't have the baby in Salem. She has to have the baby somewhere where no one knows her. Nicole is happy - everything will work out if she can pull this off. Another nun tells Nicole she'll let Sr T know she's there and she won't tell anyone else. Sr T comes along while Nicole is telling her lies to EJ. When Sr T questions her about the lies Nicole lies that they aren't lies - they're just rearranged facts. She needs Sr T's help. Nicole feeds Sr T a platter full of lies that basically say her family will disown her - she can't have the baby in Salem but she's taken care of that. Sr T remarks - what a concidence - a good friend of hers is in the same predicament. Sami prays for Rafe's safe return. She hears a noise and turns around saying 'Rafe ...'


Hospital: There's a replay of the flashbacks and John saying I remember. He remembers everything, 'especially you, Doc'. I remember you and me from the beginning Doc. He says I ... love ... and then drifts off. Kayla comes in and Marlena tells her that John has remembered everything. Kayla thought he might after reviewing the test results. Marlena sees the expression on Kayla's face and asks what's wrong. Kayla answers that John's case is complex. What they know is that John's central nervous system has had a catastrophic episode. Marlena knows the diagnosis - what do they do for him? Kayla says if he stays at University Hospital one more day his chances of recovery are slim. Marlena says they will take him any place he needs to go. She didn't just get him back to lose him. She is not going to lose him again - what are their options? Kayla tells her that there is a clinic in Lugano, Switzerland that specializes in these types of cases. They'll place him on mobile life support and medi-vac him to the nearest airport. Marlena goes out and tells Brady to go in and see his father now.

Brady comes into the room - Kayla leaves them alone. John says 'Hey, Brady. There's my boy - that's my son.' Brady - OMG, you're back. John knows what Brady did for him; he's damn proud of him. John tells him that he always loved him - he was always in his heart. Brady goes out to tell Marlena that John wants her - Roman is there now. John tells Marlena that he can't move his arms and legs - what the hell is happening to him. The elevator doors open and Stefano arrives - Brady and Roman turn to face him. Marlena tells John that the drug Charlotte gave him has destroyed, for the moment, part of his central nervous system. John - so I can't walk, I can't move? Marlena says not right now. John tells her to get out. Walk out that door and never look back. Marlena tells him to stop that. He says he's no good to her anymore. Marlena doesn't ever want him saying that to her. She adds - don't you ever tell me to leave you again - not ever. There's a place they can take him where he'll have a chance. A place that he might even get back everything he had before. They're will to take him right now. The sooner they get there the better chance he's going to have. John asks - you'll come with me? She'd go anywhere with him. He asks - what about her life here. She answers that he is her life and everyone here understands that. John - Samantha? Marlena - she'll survive. You and I are going together. I'm going to take care of you and if you don't know this by now, just being with you and having you in my life again - that's all I need. And I'm deliriously happy to be by your side and I'm going to work harder than I ever have before just to get you back. John says before that happens he needs to ask her something. Will you marry me again? Marlena says yes. John says now, right here before we go. Marlena will call the priest and let everyone know. John - that's what I want. Marlena - That's what you shall have. Marlena goes to make some calls and tell everyone outside. They kiss.

Marlena gives Kayla, Roman and Brady the good news. They'll have a wedding and then leave for Switzerland. They'll all be guests of honour. She tells them to go inside and she's going to call Father Jansen. They go inside the room - Stefano approaches Marlena. He hopes she knows he had nothing to do with this. Marlena doesn't care what he thinks and what he says because he can't hurt them anymore. She walks away. The priest is there - the bride has changed into a white pantsuit and John is in a black robe. The priest performs the marriage ceremony. Stefano looks through the window and smiles - he salutes John - John arches his eyebrow in return. Stefano leaves. Before the ceremony is concluded John and Marlena wish to exchange personal vows. Father Jansen comments that he believes they've done this before. John tells him this is the last time - he doesn't think anything will tear them apart again. He believes that is covered by the 'til death do us part' part. Marlena - and even then. John and I - she pauses - that says it all. John and I were simply meant to be together but there's been nothing very simple about it. We always found our way back together. John - no matter what. Although this time I did make it kind of tough on you. Marlena - This time was pretty challenging. The minute I looked into your eyes I knew. With all the evidence to the contrary I knew the love of my life was there; right there somewhere inside. I knew we'd be together again forever. John - That was your faith in me - in my recovery. The only reason I'm here. Marlena - Do you know that every time we got back together, we found each other, our bond grew stronger. John - And that love means everything to me. Without it I can't breathe. Without you ... Marlena - I'm here. I'm right here with you. I will always be by your side. John - You're my life, Doc. The reason I wake up every morning. I love you. Marlena - I love you with all my heart. I'm so blessed to have you back in my life. I'm never, ever going to let you go - not ever. Father Jansen concludes the ceremony and pronounces them husband and wife. He tells John he may kiss his bride. The episode ends after they kiss tenderly.


Preview: Nicole with Dr Baker (on her cell with Mia) - Mia, can I call you back? I'm in the middle of something. Mia - I'm in labour. Sami to Sr T - I think I'm having the baby. Steve to Bo - What did you see? Bo - It felt like death. The killer to an unconscious Rafe - Wake up you hear me. You can't die.

Convent: Nicole continues lying to Sr T - yes, she has found a place where she can deliver the baby. The doctor and staff are great. She hands her the card for Dr. Baker's clinic. Sr T is happy - this will help the other pregnant woman in much the same predicament as 'Mary' aka Nicole. Nicole gushes about how nice it is to be able to help someone else out like Sr T has helped her. She presses the nun to keep all of this secret no matter what - Sr T's lips are sealed. Sami is anxious about Rafe. It wasn't him that came into the chapel, it was another nun. She asks to be taken to Sr. T's office. She knocks on the door and calls out to Sr T to let her in. Nicole barks an order - don't open that door. Sr T is surprised by her tone but the lies and excuses flow off Nicole's lips very easily. Sr T leads her to another door - Nicole lurks and eavesdrops. Sami tells Sr T she thought she heard voices. Sr T claims that she was praying. Sami thanks her again for agreeing to take care of her baby until she decides what to do. Nicole moves and almost knocks over a planter. Sami wonders what the noise is. Sr T says the nun in the next room isn't light on her feet. She then says all the lies are getting to her. Sami is confused - what lies? Sr T covers by saying that she assumes Sami would want her to lie to the father of the baby if he showed up there. Sami says yes, she would. That's a big problem for Sr T. Sami says he never comes here. When Sr T continues Sami starts in again about dangerous the baby's father's family is. She would hope that Sr T would lie to keep the child safe. Sr T agrees. She tries to get Sami to leave but Sami notices how anxious and nervous she is. Sr T makes another excuse and practically shoves Sami out the door. Nicole plays innocent pretending she doesn't know who Sr T was talking to. She gets Sr T's promise once again that her visit here will remain a secret. Sr T leaves to check if the coast is clear. Nicole looks at the statue of the Blessed Mother and says she would never really hurt anyone using a likeness of her. Then she whines that it's not fair that she lost her child and Sami didn't - but she's going to make it fair. She calls Mia to check in on her - she's not in labour yet. Nicole is relieved - she has some things to get in order yet like thinking of a lie to tell EJ. Sr T comes back and tells Nicole that she can leave now. Sami is back in the chapel praying. She's grateful to God for this convent. She talks about missing her other children and how much she wants to see them. She prays for Rafe (insert flashback) - she's very worried. She gets up to leave - Sr T stops her. Sami tells her that she has to find Rafe - she's sure he's in trouble and it's all because of her. She's going to start looking for him at the safe house first. Sr T can't let her go - she promised to keep her and the baby safe. Sami says you can't stop me - Sr T responds - want to try me (or something similar). Sami goes into labour.


Safe house: Rafe is back tied to the chair. He has a black eye and he appears to be unconscious. The killer taunts him and yells at him to wake up. Rafe comes to and repeats that he doesn't know who Sami Brady is or where she is and even if he did he wouldn't tell him. The killer says well I might as well kill you then and holds the gun to his hand. Rafe says go ahead but the killer doesn't. Rafe still has information he wants. He pulls out the taser that Rafe left behind in the safehouse - he's always wanted to try one of these. He zaps Rafe. The killer tries to get Rafe to wake up. Rafe is only pretending to be unconscious. He gets his hands free knocks the gun out of the killer's hands. Another struggle follows but the killer knocks Rafe unconscious with the taser. He's tied to the chair again as the killer tosses the place and finds a baby book. Rafe says it's his girlfriend's book. He got her pregnant. It's his first child. The killer thinks it would be a shame for him not to see the baby - Rafe agrees to talk.


Brady Pub: (Please note - A lot went on in the pub and there was a lot of nice conversation between Bo, Hope, Steve, Kayla, Abe and Lexie. I'm just going into the bare bones of the various conversations because I'm short on time today). Bo, Hope, Steve (YES ... Steve is actually on ... YAY!) and Kayla are toasting John and Marlena. Abe comes in and asks to speak to Bo privately. He just came from a meeting with his advisors - the pressure is on for Bo to solve the mayor's murder. The taxpayers are footing the bill for Sami's Witness Protection, all the PD is working on the case and they don't even have a single suspect. Bo reminds Abe the killer is a professional hitman. Bo suggests that if Abe doesn't think he's doing a good enough job he can fire him. Abe insists he's behind Bo 100% it's just that the press is pressuring him. Bo wants to know when he started to care about what the press was saying. Abe is going to explain more but Lexie and Theo arrive. Theo has just been released from the hospital. Theo hugs both Abe and Lexie - Lexie is thrilled. Lexie and Theo join the others at the table. Abe thanks Bo for making the call to an ambulance - that probably saved Theo's life. Abe joins the others - Bo has another vision. It's of the hospital and we see Hope's hand holding a gun.

Bo and Hope are talking. Bo tells him that Abe is pressuring him to make an arrest and get Sami home. Hope defends the job Bo is doing - they have everyone at the PD working on the case. Bo looks at Steve - he thinks it's time he started thinking outside of the box. They go back to the table and Bo thinks they need another round - he asks Steve for help. Bo tells Steve about his conversation with Abe. He tells Steve he wants his help with catching the mayor's killer. Steve doesn't see what he can do when Bo has the entire police force at his disposal. Besides he did this for John and all his leads ended up as dead ends. Bo says yes the entire police force are on the case but they have to play by the rules, Steve doesn't. Bo thinks Stefano is behind this - he wants Steve to dig deeper. He asks Steve if going after Stefano would be a problem for him. No - nothing would make Steve happier than busting that two-toned bastard. Bo has the vision again - this times he hears a gun shot. Steve asks Bo if he has something on his mind and presses for an answer when Bo's response is evasive. Finally Bo tells Steve that since he fell off the ladder and hit his head before Christmas he's been having these visions. Steve wants to know if it's like the woman on Medium - maybe Bo could see the winning lottery numbers and they could share. Bo gets upset - it's not a joke. Steve can see that - he wants to know more. Bo tells him that he knew Theo was going to go missing on Christmas Eve, he knew that Theo was going to fall down the stairs. He sees these bad things but he can't stop them from happening. He just had another vision and this one was of Hope. Steve wants Bo to tell him every detail of the vision. He mentions the gun shot. He tells Steve it's not so much what he saw - it's what he felt. It felt like death.

Bo tells Steve that he has to take Hope off this case. Back at the table Kayla mentions that they have to get home to the baby. Theo pipes up and says Baby Joe. Everyone gushes. They talk about play dates and wax poetic about how nothing is more important than family. Abe and Lexie and Theo are at one table and the others at another. Lexie tells Abe they wanted to give them some family times. Abe tries to get Theo to stop playing with a spoon but Lexie tells him it's fine - Theo is happy. After the accident she's decided that she's going to be much more relaxed around Theo. At the other table the conversation is back on family. Bo talks about the fact that just the other night he and Hope were talking about how little time they have together at home. He's decided what to do about it. Hope says you're not going to quit, are you? Bo says no but he's taking her off the mayor's murder case. Hope responds - like hell you are. The argument goes on - Steve and Kayla decide to head home - leave the two of them alone to figure this out. Outside the pub Kayla asks Steve why Bo really wants Hope off the case. He's just happy they're arguing - it gave them an excuse to leave. He tells Kayla that Bo asked him to do some work on the case - but no, he doesn't have to start tonight - he has other plans. Back inside the pub Hope wants to know what's really going on. Bo backs off and tells her he wants her to be extra careful. He then suggests they take advantage of the fact they have a babysitter for the evening. They go and tell Abe and Lexie they're leaving. Abe apologises for coming down so hard on Bo. Bo tells him it's okay. He'll do whatever it takes. Hope corrects him - 'we'll' do whatever it takes.

Mia's apt: She writes a letter to her daughter explaining why she put her up for adoption. It's not that she didn't love her but that she couldn't provide for her the way 'she' (Nicole) could - insert flashback. She looks at the 3-D ultrasound and cries. Now that she's seen her - how can she give her up.


Dr. Baker's clinic: Nicole informs Dr. Baker that she has some new instructions for him. If a nun calls he's to take the call and do whatever she wants. Dr. Baker wants to know what Nicole is up to now. Her cell rings - it's Mia. Nicole asks if she can call her back - She's in the middle of something. So is Mia - she's in labour. The show ends on a split screen of Nicole, Mia and Sami.


Preview: Kate to Daniel and Chloe - Is one of you two going to tell me what's going on? Philip to Stephanie - I get to pick what the bet is. Stephanie - What do you have in mind? Safe house - Part 1: The killer tells Rafe that if he doesn't talk he's going to pull the trigger and he'll still find Sami Brady only Rafe won't be there to come to her rescue. Rafe will talk. The killer asks where the little bitch is. Rafe tells him to check under the bed - the killer slugs him. Rafe says he's still not talking. The killer thinks it's time to play his trump card - he leaves.


Convent: Sr. Theresa asks Sami if she is sure this isn't a false alarm. Sami tells her that she's had three children - this is the real thing. The pains are coming quickly. Sr. Theresa will call the doctor at the clinic. Sami says no they have to find Rafe first. The killer could have him. Sr T feels their heavenly Father will watch over him. She tells Sami that they'll have to make sure no one sees her. Sami says they can't go - Rafe will freak out if she's not here when he comes back. St T says they will leave him a note with one of the other nuns. Sami tells her to never mind - the pains are one on top of the other. Call the doctor - she needs to get there now. Sr T brings Sami her coat. Sami tells her that her water broke.


Dr. Baker's clinic: Nicole tells Dr. Baker that Mia is in labour. He says she needs to be here. Nicole tells Mia she's on her way. It's showtime. Nicole calls Dr. Baker - they have a problem. Mia's water broke and her contractions are less than a minute apart. Mia won't move; she's in too much pain - she's too scared. Dr Baker tells Nicole he has another call coming in. Sr T identifies herself to him. One of his patients gave her his number - a young woman went into labour. Dr. Baker tells her to bring her in. Dr. Baker gets back on the line and tells her that the nun called him - she's bringing a woman in labour in. Nicole is thrilled - it's happening. It's all coming together. Dr. Baker asks what's coming together. Mia yells out that she's having the baby now.Sr T and Sami arrive. The nun introduces Sami to Dr. Baker as Colleen. Dr. Baker tells Sami they'll take really good care of her. The nurse takes Sami into a room to get changed. Sr. T tells Dr. Baker he's a lifesaver. She is so grateful that one of his patients recommended this clinic - it's truly a blessing. Dr. Baker tells Sami they'll start with an exam - he assumes she's had pre-natal care. Sami says it's an unusual situation but this will be her fourth. Dr. Baker looks at a reading and says 'whoa'. Sami asks what's wrong. Dr. Baker says the contractions are causing stress on the baby. The nurse says the heartrate is dropping. Sami tells the doctor he has to do something now. Sami asks what is going on. Dr. Baker telling her the cord is compressed - the baby is not getting enough oxygen. Sami tells him to do a C-section. Dr. Baker tells her they don't have an OR room here. Dr. Baker gets the nurse to start Sami on oxygen and an IV. Sami doesn't have a good feeling about this. What if something happens to her baby.


Brady Pub: Outside - Dan and Chloe arrive at the same time. He thought she had gone home. She got a call from Lucas to meet him here. Dan asks her if she's changed her mind about them. She hasn't but Lucas can't find out until Kate is better and Allie has her Mom back home. Kate comes along and asks if one of them is going to tell her what's going on. Chloe says she was telling Dan about her argument with Lucas and how bad she feels about it. She asks Kate how she's feeling. She's doing great. Kate tells Daniel she went by his apartment earlier. Chloe has a flashback to opening Dan's door and seeing Kate leave. She is sure Lucas is waiting for her - she goes inside. Kate tells Dan she assumed he wasn't home. He tells her he was. Kate thinks maybe he didn't hear her knock. She came by to talk about the two of them. It was kind of awkward the way she ended things. Daniel understands and respects her need to spend more time with her family. He wants her to be happy. She is because her children are happy. She talks about worrying about Lucas the most. He always made questionable choices especially when it came to women. Now she thinks he's met the right one - doesn't Daniel think so? He does. Kate thinks that Allie, Chloe and Lucas make the perfect little family. She's going to go inside - does he want to join her? He says no. He watches them through the window. Victor comes up behind him and says you want what Lucas has, don't you? A relationship, a family - is he wrong. Dan does want that eventually. Victor says this is his way of asking Daniel if he plans on staying in Salem. He does - he feels like he finally found a place where he could settle down. Victor tells him he'll find the right woman. Daniel says sometimes he thinks they're all taken. Victor asks Daniel if he's coming inside. Daniel says no.

Inside - Chloe has Allie - Lucas needs to know if they're okay. Chloe says no we're not. She's not over it. She's mad at herself for over-reacting. She's sorry. Lucas doesn't blame her for being upset but they can't keep letting Sami do this number on them. He tells Chloe that he still wants to marry her - that's why he gave her that ring. He's not making excuses but he and Sami have children together; he has to take some responsibility for that. If he didn't he would be a big jerk. Chloe is the one that feels like a jerk. She was just so excited about the trip and when she heard he couldn't go because of Sami ... it was selfish and immature. She knows that Sami will always be a part of his life just like Allie will be. Caroline brings Johnny to the table. The killer is there taking pictures. Lucas tries to get Allie to eat mashed potatoes which she doesn't like. He gives her the spoon. The mashed potatoes end up on Chloe. Chloe sends some in Lucas's direction - food fight. Kate thinks this is a good time to leave. She tells Victor to approach as his own risk. Victor asks Caroline what's going on. Caroline says it's a food fight. Victor comments that she'll have to clean that up. She doesn't mind - she hasn't seen the twins have this much fun since Sami's been gone. Victor calls Lucas and Chloe idiots. Chloe is an ill-mannered pig. Caroline insists that the children love her. Victor says that Chloe is going to destroy Lucas just like she destroyed Philip and Brady. This relationship is doomed and so is Lucas. Caroline brings Victor his order. He asks her to join him. She will if he promises to stop picking on Chloe. She's really a nice girl. Victor thinks she's too trusting. Chloe tells Lucas they'll have to leave a big tip. Her cell rings - she sees it's a call from Daniel. She tells Lucas she's not answering - it's not important.


Titan: Stephanie is working on a memo - Philip tells her it's time to quit. He keeps trying to close her laptop and she keeps insisting she has to work. He thought she was dying to get her surprise. She closes her laptop - what is it? Philip has a reservation and he thought they'd stop at this wine bar in Lincoln Park. Stephanie realises he's talking about Chicago. Philip informs her that he is has the jet fueled up and ready to go. She tells him she can't go with him. It's not that she doesn't appreciate what he's doing but he doesn't have to try so hard. She doesn't need a hipster wine bar and a fancy restaurant for him to impress her. He asks her what the perfect date would entail. She says it would start like this - she kisses him.


Mia's apt: Nicole shows up - Mia is panicking. She's scared. Nicole asks her how far apart the pains are. Mia says a minute. Nicole tells her they have to get her to the clinic. Mia isn't going anywhere. Nicole calls Dr. Baker - at the end of the calls she tells Dr. Baker to take care of that woman that is with the nun. Nicole tells Mia they need towels and sheets ... Mia screams that they need a doctor. Nicole tells her that Dr. Baker is busy - they have to do this together. Mia insists they can't. Nicole tells her to relax and think positive thoughts. Mia says please, I can't do this without a doctor. I'm so scared. Nicole knows she is - she asks Mia if she trusts her. Mia says no I don't. You can't deliver my baby. Nicole coldly tells her that she has as much riding on this as Mia does. Stop yelling and start breathing. I'm bringing this baby into the world now damn it! Nicole yelling at Mia to push - Mia screaming she can't. More screaming by both parties. Nicole is thrilled carrying the baby - she's perfect. Mia doesn't want to see it.


Safe house - Part 2: Rafe struggles to get free. He vows not to let that bastard lay a finger on Sami. Cue flashbacks. The killer returns. Rafe says he's still not talking. The killer is thinking that once Rafe sees what he has here he'll offer up Sami Brady on a spit - he holds up his cell phone. He reminds Rafe of the conversation they had earlier. The one where he said he'd take out the Brady's girls family one by one unless he talked. To show him how serious he is why don't they start with a two-fer. Damn those are some nice kids. He shows Rafe a picture of Allie and Johnny. Rafe calls him a S.O.B.


Cheating Heart: When they arrive Philip asks her if peanut shells and pool tables are her idea of a perfect date. She came here to prove a point. It shouldn't matter where they are, it just matters that they're together. He asks her if she chose this place because Max works here. Stephanie says he's not working tonight - she checked. Besides being here has nothing to do with Max. She was just thinking that if they really want to get to know each other they should keep it casual; kick back, have a beer, shoot some pool. Bets on the table. Philip warns her he plays a pretty good game. She's always up for the challenge. Philip says he won't take it easy on her just because she's a girl. He feels that she picked the place so he should get to pick the bet. She asks what - he tells her to rack them up, she'll see. Some really cute flirting scenes as Stephanie sinks the winning shot. She wants to know what her prize is - she decides to go to the bathroom and when she comes back ... Philip says your prize will be waiting for you. He pulls out $2000 cash and tells the bartender to close the place down - he needs the place to himself. Stephanie comes back and Philip says surprise. He gets them each a beer. Stephanie likes her surprise - lucky for her that he sucks at pool. Philip makes a very difficult shot - Stephanie realises he let her win. He says he only did it to build her confidence. She pretends to be angry at him. He thinks that's so cute. She doesn't think he'll think that when he doesn't get his prize. She had this consolation prize for him but now he's not getting it. Philip would like at least a hint. Stephanie says one hint - she kisses him. Phil's cell ring. She asks if he's going to answer it. He shakes his head no and kisses her again. The phone stops ringing but then starts up again. She says it must be important. He takes the call. He has to go back to the office. He tells Stephanie to wait for him - he'll be back.


Daniel's apt: He leaves Chloe a message. He mentions seeing her with Lucas and Allie. She said they shouldn't come forward until the time is right but he's beginning to wonder if that time will ever come. He just doesn't think he'll be able to come between what she has with Lucas and his family.

Titan: Brady invites Philip to join him in a one on one basketball game with a client - they'll play horse. Philip has to pass. He's on a paper trail hunt. Brady asks if there's a problem. Philip says yes, a serious one - Melanie. Philip checks his email and slams his hands on the desk - damn it. EJ DiMera is trying to steal Melanie and the bio-fuel project from Titan. Brady asks if Melanie told him this - who is his source. Philip's source is confidential. He tells Brady to trust him - the intel is solid. This patent could make Titan billions. If they lose it they might as well post their resumes on line. Brady - so what do we do? Philip answers - we stop her. Philip is angry with himself for trusting Melanie by only making a verbal agreement with her. Brady reminds him that he worked out a multi-billion deal - anyone would have overlooked her past actions. Philip feels that Melanie can't wait to start a bidding war. He vows that the patent will stay with them. He tells Brady he knows exactly how to get to Melanie.


Brady Pub: Max comments on Melanie's good mood - did she win the lottery. She answers kind of. She wants him to tell her what he knows about EJ DiMera. He wants to know why. She says she's networking - that's how people get ahead in business. Max still wants to know why she wants to know about EJ. Melanie gets his promise not to say anything. Nick told EJ about the Alternative Fuel Project and that she was the go to person on the project. He's interested in funding the project. Max says don't you already have an agreement with Titan? Melanie shrugs - not really - it's more like a verbal agreement. She knew the project had serious potential but if EJ wants to do business with her, that's huge. Max repeats - the burning question remains what is she going to do about her agreement with Titan. Melanie laughs - she is thinking of initiating a bidding war between Philip's family and the DiMera's. Max tells her she's in way over her head.

He doesn't want her to get hurt. He doesn't want anyone to take advantage of her. She won't let that happen. This project is too important to her. It's about the only good thing in Nick's life. She is doing this for him too. She wants him to have something nice to look forward to when he gets out. Max doesn't like the idea of a bidding war. Even though there is nothing signed a verbal agreement is binding too. Melanie says not if there's no written proof of it. Max asks her how she thinks Philip is going to feel about her shopping around his project. Melanie whines that Philip treats her like dirt. She's insecure enough with him following her around and telling her what a low life she is. He gets a kick out of treating her badly. This isn't about Philip though - it's about putting her project in the right hands. Max says of course it has nothing to do with the money. Melanie says it's a little bit about the money - who has more of it, EJ or Philip? She can handle this. Max notices Philip and asks if Melanie can handle him.

Philip would like to talk to Melanie in private. Max goes behind the bar. Philip lays on the charm. He was looking for her because he doesn't like to eat alone. He saw her car outside so he thought they could eat together because they have a few things to iron out on the bio-fuel project. Melanie agrees but they'll have to talk about this tomorrow - she has some place she has to be. She rushes out. Max tells Philip that he wants him to stay away from his sister. Max sees what Philip is trying to do and it's not going to work. Melanie is smart enough to know when someone is playing her. Philip gets it - this is about him dating Max's ex-girlfriend. Max insists that this is about his sister. He knows how important Nick's fuel project is to Titan and he knows that Philip and Victor will do anything to ensure that it never leaves there. He tells Philip to treat his sister with respect or he will personally make sure she leaves Titan and takes the patent with her. Max informs Philip that Melanie told him how he treats her like crap and he's a real jerk to her. Philip asks Max if she also told him that he gave her a job when no one else would. That he treated her damn well until she started acting up with him. Does it occur to Max that his sister pisses off practically everyone she comes in contact with? Max warns Philip to not mess with his sister - he repeats his threat about Melanie leaving Titan and taking the patent with her. Philip leaves. Pete hands Max a big envelope that came for him earlier. Max looks at it and wonders who sent it.


Mia's apt: Mia tells Nicole to move away from the bed (so she doesn't have to see the baby). Nicole puts the baby in a drawer. Mia doesn't want Nicole to talk to her. Nicole wants to say just one thing. Mia was so brave - the way she gave birth to her beautiful girl and more brave to give her a good life. She should be proud of herself. Mia cries - she can't do this. Nicole says of course you can because you know you're doing the right thing for your baby. Mia says - 'my baby. She's mine.' She asks if the baby looks like her. Nicole says no, she looks like a baby. Mia doesn't want to see her face or hold her because if she does ... Nicole tells her to remember why she decided to give her up. Mia doesn't want to hear about what she said. It's not about her, it's about doing what's right for the baby. Nicole notices that Mia is experiencing discomfort so she says they need to get to the clinic. Mia doesn't want to go anywhere or have anyone come there - she just needs some rest. Mia tells her to go. Promise her that her baby will always be happy.

Nicole can't and won't make a promise that she can't keep. Mia realises she should have worded it differently - no one is happy all the time. She wants Nicole to promise that she'll always love her baby. Nicole promises that she can do that. Mia wonders if her baby will ever forgive her. Nicole says she's not abandoning her - she's giving her opportunities that she doesn't have. Nicole tells her the baby is waiting for her to say the word so she can have the life she deserves. The longer she waits the harder it's going to be. She asks Mia if she will give her little girl to her. Mia tells Nicole to take her. Nicole wants to take her to the clinic. Mia just wants to sleep - she has some cramps but she feels okay. Nicole tells her to call her if she needs her. Mia thanks Nicole for taking care of the baby. She's going to be a great Mom. Mia cries. Mia is sleeping as Nicole walks around with the baby. Nicole hopes Mia doesn't regret what she has done. Nicole places some money for Mia on a dresser. She thanks Mia for giving her and EJ a baby they can love. Nicole tells the baby she loves her. She gushes over the baby that she will soon discard like yesterday's garbage. She wonders if Sami had her baby. She tells the baby that she wishes that she really was her and EJ's baby. She leaves. Mia says - my baby.


Dr. Baker's clinic: Sr T tells Sami to have faith. Her baby needs her to be calm and hopeful. The nurse makes a comment about the baby. Sami wants to know what that means. Dr. Baker tells her that the baby is not getting enough oxygen. She's dilated enough to deliver so he wants her to push on the next contraction. He wants her to get this baby out now. Sami pushes and asks if her baby is okay. She screams 'answer me' when the doctor doesn't reply. Dr. Baker encourages Sami to push harder. Sami wonders why God is punishing her. Sr T tells her to stop worrying about her sins and push like there's no tomorrow. The nurse tells the doctor the baby's heartrate is still dropping. The labour continues - Sami wants to know what is going on with her baby. The doctor tells the nurse to get him forceps now! Sami tells him to please save her baby. Dr. Baker says the baby is crowning - they're almost there. He can see the head - come on, one last push. He tells Sami it's a beautiful baby girl. Sami wants to see her. Sami realises that her baby isn't crying. She asks what's wrong with my baby.


Safe house: Rafe calls the killer a sadistic son of a bitch. He doesn't think the guy has the guts to kill the kids. The killer says he's wrong - he will do it because it's what he does. He'll start it off with a two for one special. Rafe tells him to stay away from Sami's kids. The killer repeats - tell me where Sami is or her kiddies die. Rafe doesn't think the guy has any idea what he's up against. One of Sami's children is a DiMera. That gives the killer pause. Rafe figures if he lays one finger on one of Stefano DiMera's grandchildren he may as well go and pick out his headstone. The killer says that Sami is the last loose end from the mayor's hit. Until she's dealt with he's a walking deadman anyways. He holds a knife to Rafe's throat and repeats his threat to kill the kids. The killer natters on about Rafe being a religious man. Rafe thinks he's a sociopath and natters on about that. The killer asks which one of the twins should I kill first? Rafe keeps him talking as he works on the ropes binding his hands. The killer says all he has to do is text his friend and those kids are dead. He's giving Rafe one last chance to tell him where that bitch is. He holds the knife to Rafe's throat. Rafe will tell him. He glances at the medallion of the saint. The killer notices and says no, you've got to be kidding me. She's at the convent. The killer is looking out the window saying she was right under my nose all this time. Rafe gets his hands untied and then unties the rope around his feet. He keeps his hands behind the chair when the killer approaches him. The guy points a gun at him and says now that he knows where Sami is he has no use for him. Tough luck Agent H.


Park: Melanie approaches Brady. She tells him she was spying on him - what was he thinking about. He was lost in thought. Brady was thinking about his Dad. Melanie heard about what happened - she's so sorry. She can kind of relate - her father was taken from her unexpectedly. Brady asks - what happened. Melanie tells him that her father was murdered a couple of months ago. He wasn't the best Dad but you only get one of them. Brady tells her he's sorry. They've been working together for a couple of weeks and this is the first time she heard about her dad. Philip didn't tell him. He can't fathom what she is going through. Melanie says her father wasn't a saint but he loved her in his own special way. He must have because he left her his half of the fuel project - it almost made up for what he did. That's why she has to make sure this project is a success. It's her one shot at redemption and she's not going to blow it.


Preview: Kate to Daniel - Something or someone has gotten to you. Daniel - Damn it Kate, would you just shut up. Chloe to Maggie - Remember when you warned me not to hurt Lucas. I have a confession to make. A crying Sami (Nicole skulks and listens in) - I know why he was scared. He's scared because she's going to die.

Dr. Baker's clinic: Nicole arrives just as Sami is screaming - what is wrong with my baby? Let me see my little girl. Dr. Baker tells the nurse to cut the cord. Sami keeps asking questions. Dr. Baker tells Sami that her baby needs a little extra medical attention. Don't panic, it's nothing he hasn't seen before. He and the nurse leave the room with the baby. Sami tells Sr T she knows why the doctor sounded really scared - he's scared because her baby is going to die. Sr T shuts the door to the exam room so Nicole skulks off. Sr T tells Sami that they're in a small clinic that's why they took the baby to another room to check her out. Sami cries that she didn't even get to see her. Sr T didn't see her either. Sami says this is her fault. She didn't have regular checkups. Sr T reminds her that she was in Witness Protection. Sami says she was in witness protection for her sake because she wanted to hide the baby and now she could be dying - it's all my fault. As soon as the nurse leaves the exam room that Dr Baker is in Nicole barges in. She demands to know what is wrong. He tells her to get out. She declares that is EJ's baby - don't tell her the baby is dead.

Sami says this is what is wrong with me. I lie all the time. I don't even think about it. I just do it. It's her fault because she's the one that lied to EJ, her parents, everyone. That's what got her here - who else has a baby under an assumed name. If she had just been honest she could have made sure the baby had the proper care and was well taken care of in a real hospital. God is punishing her and telling her she doesn't deserve this baby. Sr T says no God doesn't do that - He doesn't use innocent babies to punish people. Sami cries that she is so scared. She wishes Rafe was here - he's been gone for way too long. Sr T thinks that young man knows how to handle himself. Dr Baker tells Nicole to get out of here. She wants to know if she can do anything. He tells her to pray - somewhere else. Nicole says EJ doesn't deserve this - because of me he doesn't know anything. She prays and makes herself sound like a martyr - she went on after she lost the baby because stone hearts don't break but EJ - EJ wouldn't make it if he knew. It would kill him. She wants God to let EJ's baby live. She hears the baby crying and goes back inside. Dr. Baker tells her that everything is fine.

Dr. Baker says the baby wasn't getting any oxygen but she is now. Nicole says EJ has a daughter. Dr. Baker is going to take the baby to her mother. Nicole won't let him - not until they talk. Sami wants to go see her baby. The nurse comes in and Sami tells her she wants to see her baby. The nurse gives Sami a sedative. She'll sleep now. Sami doesn't want to sleep - she wants to see her daughter. Dr. Baker says they'll talk later. The baby's mother is worried sick - she hasn't even seen her baby yet. Nicole coldly says 'I said it can wait.' They have things to sort out - make sure things are okay for her and for him. Dr. Baker says it wouldn't be a conversation with you without the implied threat. Nicole will protect his interests only as long as he protects her. He wants to know what this baby has to do with her. Nicole tells him that EJ is the father of that baby. He was in a relationship with the mother. Her name is Samantha Brady. Dr Baker says what the hell is going on here. Nicole says it's a long story but it's going to have a happy ending.

Dr. Baker asks if Nicole if she planned this. Nicole says no, up until this week she thought Sami was out of EJ's life. She didn't know about the pregnancy. When she found out about it she tracked her to the convent. Dr. Baker - she joined a convent. Nicole says no, she's in the Witness Protection program. Dr Baker says you found her - the person they're protecting her from must be an idiot. Nicole declares that there's a devine plan at work here. He says one that somehow brought Sami to a clinic where you're blackmailing the doctor. Nicole says so she helped the plan along a little. The important thing is that he'll profit and that baby will have a great life because EJ is an amazing father. He's rich and loving - Mia's baby starts crying. Dr. Baker notices the baby and says who the hell is this? She tells him she delivered Mia's baby. Dr. Baker says the baby seems fine. Nicole gushes over Sami's baby. Everything is going to be perfect. Sami dreams that Rafe is here. He tells her the baby is fine. He's great. It's all over. Everything is going to be fine. She was so scared. He tells her he won't let anything happen to her or the baby. Sami throws her arms around him and asks him to promise that he'll never leave her. Sr T tells her she'll be there as long as Sami needs her. She tells Sami to rest. Sami can't - she has to know what happened to her daughter. She'll stay in bed if Sr T will go and find out what's going on. Dr. Baker asks Nicole if she's changed her mind about Mia's baby. Nicole will keep her promise to Mia (that the baby will be well cared for). Dr. Baker says so we're going through with things as planned. Nicole says not exactly. EJ deserves to raise his child. She doesn't think much of Sami Brady but she is a responsible mother. She was going to leave her baby in a convent orphanage and make sure her baby was well taken care of in a good home. These two babies are going to live happy healthy lives. Dr Baker says but only one of them will live it with you and EJ, right. Nicole says we are going to raise EJ's child and we are going to be very happy. Sami's daughter knows better and cries loudly as Nicole holds her.


Brady Pub: Chloe has a flashback to having sex with Daniel. She listens to his message and decides it's for the best - he's right. She changes her mind and leaves him a message. Maggie hears what she said and assumes she is having problems with Lucas. She tells Chloe that she can confide in her - she won't say anything to Lucas. Chloe reminds her of the time she told her not to hurt Lucas - she has a confession to make. She knows intellectually that Sami will always be a part of Lucas's life and it shouldn't bother her but ... She then goes on to say her mother called and they don't do so well over the phone. Her mother implied that she shouldn't get married - it's not because of Lucas but because she doesn't think Chloe is ready. Chloe admits that perhaps her mother is right. Maggie tells her to talk to Lucas she shouldn't let Sami ... by the look on Chloe's face Maggie realises they aren't talking about Sami. Chloe says it's me. Maggie calls her an opera singing, bone marrow, child-friendly beauty - she's perfect. Chloe says that is nice of her to say but that's the problem. That's how Lucas sees her - as someone that is perfect. She isn't. Maggie knows from experience and advises Chloe to take a leap of faith. She and Lucas could have something amazing. Lucas is walking on an air right now and he believes she is perfect but they know that won't last. She'll learn he can be a real jerk and he'll learn that she can be a bitch at times but in time their love will grow stronger. Nobody is perfect - don't try to be. Maggie leaves. Chloe is about to leave when Kate arrives. She tells her she was over at Daniel's - there's something bothering him but he wouldn't talk to her.


Daniel's apt: Daniel tells himself he did the right thing by breaking things off with Chloe. There's a knock on his door. It's Kate. She didn't like the way they ended things. He thought everything was fine - they decided to be friends. Kate says she may have been a bit hasty. Daniel knows it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind but if she does it again he's going to think she's jerking his chain. He gets a call - he sees it's from Chloe and says it's not an emergency - he doesn't have to take it. Kate wants to know how he feels about their break-up. Daniel shrugs she wanted it to an end - he's doing what she wants. He doesn't like talking about himself. He tries to change the subject and decides to order pizza - Kate keeps pushing. She's worried about him - she has family but who does he have to talk to. Kate keeps talking, Daniel keeps avoiding the subject. He places an order and tells Kate to shut up already. When Kate keeps going on Daniel tells her it's best if they simplify things - he's the doctor and she's the patient. She is to worry about getting healthy, not worry about him. She can make an appointment and they'll talk in his office. Kate gets the hint and leaves. Outside his door she wonders what is going on with him. Daniel listens to Chloe's message saying they have to talk. He says no we don't - it's over. Chloe knocks on the door. Daniel asks if she didn't get his message telling her it's over. She did. That's why she's here. They have to talk.


Safe house: Rafe grabs the killer's hand and they struggle over the gun. Rafe gets in some good hits - the gun goes flying. The killer gets in several good hits and kicks and then grabs a kitchen knife. He stabs Rafe (in the leg, I think) and Rafe stabs him in the stomach. The killer takes off - he's bleeding badly. Rafe comes to and tries to go after him. He gets up but his leg gives up and he ends up on the floor again.


Park: The killer makes his way to a set of stairs but collapses in the snow.


Preview: Daniel to Chloe - This is good. Let it out. Go ahead.Chloe - Good? Daniel - Yeah. It's really good because it's going to make it easier for us to go our separate ways - he grabs her and kisses her. Steve to Bo and Kayla - I think I might have a lead on Marino's killer. Sr t to Sami - Samantha, please you mustn't get out of bed. Sami - I have to find out what's wrong with my child.

Daniel's apt: Chloe tells Daniel to let her in to his apartment or she'll out there all night. She says his message was a complete 180. He was just telling her that he couldn't give her up, that she shouldn't continue living a lie and then he says it's over. Daniel explains that when he saw her at the pub with Lucas and Allie they looked happy. He's not going to destroy that. Chloe says that at first she was relieved but then she wanted to kill him. Then she saw Kate and she told her that he seemed sad and alone. Daniel tells her he's not going to do this - he wants her to leave. Chloe calls him a liar. He knew that message would torture her. He knew that if he rejected her she would realise what he's known all along - that's there's no way in hell they can end this. Daniel turns the table on her - this is predictable. All this time he's been trying to convince her to leave Lucas and when he changes his mind ... Chloe interrupts and says you changed you mind because you saw me trying to push you out of my mind and have a little fun. Daniel says it looks like she succeeded. Chloe asks if that is what this is all about - her having fun without him. Daniel says it's not about him. She's a part of a family. He's not proud of the fact that he's fallen in love with another man's fiancé but he would to think he's not totally devoid of any decency. He will not break up a family - he won't do it. Chloe says so it's all about you. She brings up Kate saying he looked alone. Daniel doesn't want to talk about Kate. Chloe asks what he'll do if Kate changes her mind and wants him back. He won't talk about Kate. Chloe yells fine - we'll talk about us. You don't tell a person you love them and then dump them using voicemail especially after you've made it so they can't think of nothing else but you day and night, even in their dreams. She tells him she hates him.

Daniel says he should have told her to her face that it was over but he didn't because he knew they'd end up just like this. He supposes she has every right to be angry. Chloe says you profess your love for me, tell me you've been waiting for me your whole life and then you leave me a voicemail saying that it's over and you suppose that I have a right to be angry. Dan tells her this is good. Let it out. Chloe isn't just angy, she's disgusted with herself for thinking that he was a man of his word. She calls him a shallow bastard that doesn't have the courage of his convictions. Dan says so I'm the scum of the earth - he tells her to let it out because it will make it that much easier to go their separate ways. They kiss passionately. They get horizontal on the sofa. They're basking in the afterglow and kissing. Chloe claims to still be mad ... after more kisses she concedes she's not as mad - she's more mad at herself. She came here to tell him off and leave and never see him again. More kisses. He gets paged. It's an emergency. He has to go to the hospital. They're dressed and ready to leave. He opens the door - Chloe realises she left her purse. He tells her to lock up when she leaves and then kisses her. Maggie watches. Chloe rushes back inside and when she comes out she comes face to face with Maggie.


Brady Pub: Bo and Hope are sitting at a table talking about the Merino case. Bo has another vision of Hope shooting a gun and someone falling to the floor. Hope asks him what is going on - he's still not thinking of taking her off the case. He says no - when he said that he was being a jerk. He's over it now. Hope says maybe but he's still not over what was bothering him in the first place. He said he'd had a vision but he didn't tell her what is was about. Bo says he doesn't really know what it was - it was all jumbled up. He says there's really nothing to talk about. Steve joins them. He thinks he may have a lead on Merino's killer. He had some help from a buddy of his who is a hard core computer geek. Hope asks - hack job on the DiMera's. Steve says it wasn't exactly by the book. He found something interesting that could connect DiMera to the killer. He mentions a company name that popped up several times on DiMera's computer so he did a search on it. This company lists holdings of millions of dollars and a healthy chunk of that is held at Capstar Bank. Hope comments that there is a branch of that bank in Salem. Bo says so you're thinking Stefano is using that corporation to bankroll his illegal activities. Hope adds - like employing hit men. Steve is going to check into it a little more. Hope will notify Roman. Steve gets a call from Kayla. Bo has another vision of Hope shooting, Kayla's name tag and the bullet hitting Kayla.

Bo is at the bar - Steve walks up to him and says he'll see what he can find out about DiMera - he thinks they have a good start. He notices that Bo is a little zoned out. What's going on? Bo says nothing. Steve asks if he had another one of those visions. Bo did and he thinks it involved Hope. A gun was fired and someone did get shot. Steve asks who. Bo has another vision and sees Kayla falling to the floor. Bo says it's Kayla. Bo isn't sure - this is all in his crazy head. Steve says until he's sure of what these visions mean they're going to keep the women apart. Hope finishes up talking to Roman as Steve and Bo join her. She tells them that Roman thinks they should track the money from the killer's end. Check the security camera at Capstar and see if the guy has made any withdrawals. Bo says maybe one of the tellers can ID the killer. Hope says with any luck his account will lead them to Stefano's. Bo tells Steve he's thinking they're going to wrap this case soon thanks to him. Steve says he's going to take off. Hope is going to go with him - she wants to see Kayla. Bo says no, that's a bad idea.

Hope says why shouldn't I see Kayla. Bo doesn't want her leaving so soon - he enjoys her company. Steve says Bo's just messing with you. That call he got from Kayla was to tell him she got paged. She's at the hospital. Hope says I guess we'll get together some other time. Steve leaves. Hope wants Bo to tell her the truth - the real reason he didn't want her to see Kayla. Bo doesn't want to make a big deal out of this. Hope wants him to answer her. He says he enjoys her company. This Merino case has him rattled. He'd like to run some ideas past her and get her perspective. He asks if he's being selfish. She says yes but he's allowed. Bo says Abe is on his case to wrap this up and Sami must be going crazy being locked up in the safe house. That is why he didn't want her running off to see Kayla. They have to make this case their priority. Focus on it and put their personal lives on hold for a little while. Hope says she's worried about him. He says don't be. I'm good as long as I have you by my side. Hope sits in his lap and hugs him.


Park: Maggie is talking on her cell phone - when she finishes the call she sees the hit man lying in the snow. Maggie tries to wake him up and then rolls him over and sees the blood.

Safe house: Rafe tries to get up but can't - he says Sami be careful. He sees his cell phone and crawls towards it. He picks it up but it's not working. He curses and flings it across the room.


DiMera jet: EJ is on his cell talking to someone about the meeting going well and quickly. He then calls Stefano and tells him they have a bright future in Italy. EJ calls Nicole and leaves her a message that he's going to be leaving Rome shortly. He'll call when he arrives in Salem. Less than 10 minutes later after calling before he left Rome EJ calls to tell Nicole the plane has landed in Salem. He'll see her soon.


Dr. Baker's clinic: Sami tells Sr T to go and find out what is wrong with her baby - go right now. Nicole tells Dr. Baker that she wants Sami's baby. Dr. Baker tells her she got Mia's baby - she should be damned grateful for that. She tells Dr. Baker not to make this harder than it already is - take Mia's baby and let her have Sami's. Sami and Sr T have the same argument. Finally Sr T agrees to go and see what she can find out. Dr. Baker tells Nicole it is out of the question. Nicole argues that no one will know. Everything is coming together. He asks if she planned this. Nicole claims that when she found Sami was pregnant and EJ was the father she was so envious. She thought wouldn't it be amazing if she could give EJ his biological child so she talked to the nun and gave her Dr. Baker's business card. She thought if Sami gave birth here she could take her baby and he could give Mia's baby to the convent. She claims it's fate - they were born at almost the same time and they're both girls. They could accidentally be put in the wrong bassinet. Dr. Baker says the first time he laid eyes on her he knew something was off. Now he's convinced, she's a psychopath.

Sr T asks a nurse to tell her where the doctor is. Nicole starts in on Dr. Baker - she verbally abuses him. Dr. Baker wants her to leave. Nicole will leave and go straight to the cops. Dr. Baker says fine - he'll call her fiancé and tell him what a crazy little bitch she is. Nicole declares that she expects Dr. Baker to have some compassion and sympathy for her. She whines about losing her baby and not being able to get pregnant again. It made her want a baby even more. Dr. Baker reminds her that she does have a baby. She's grateful to Mia but then there's EJ's maybe and she knows that she is the one she is supposed to have and she will no matter what it takes. Dr. Baker say she's not yours, she's Colleen's. You can't just switch these babies and have no one find out. How can she possibly expect to pull this off. The nurse stops Sr T from going into the room Dr Baker is in. Sr T says Colleen is very concerned about her child. They've been waiting a long time for a report. The nurse says the doctor is dealing with an emergency right now. Sr T asks if she has any updates - the mother is frantic. The nurse says as soon as they know anything she'll be the first to know.

Nicole asks if Sami got a good look at her baby - she didn't. did she? She won't know the difference. Dr. Baker says of course she will - she spent nine months carrying the baby. Nicole scoffs - all newborns look alike. She declares the two babies are almost identical. Dr. Baker says and then she grows up and has none of Sami's characteristics. Nicole lies and says Sami won't see the baby grow up. She's abandoning this baby. Dr. Baker asks - what if she has a change of heart. The lies flow from Nicole's lips. She won't she doesn't want this baby. She didn't even tell the father. Dr. Baker says there's a lot of that going on here. Nicole says don't you dare compare me to her - I actually want this child. She continues her lies - she overheard Sami telling the nuns that she resents this baby and all the problems it's caused her. She doesn't deserve to be a mother. EJ and her will give that baby a better life than Sami ever could. You have to help me make that happen Dr. Baker. Dr. Baker will not switch these babies - it's too damn risky. Nicole doesn't see why - he won't get caught. Nobody will know except her and she's not going to tell. Dr. Baker wants her to leave - he's going to take the baby to her mother. Sr T knocks on the door and opens it - Nicole skulks behind the door.

Sr T asks for an update - Colleen is very worried. Dr. Baker practically pushes her out of the room - they're doing everything they can. Tell her I'll be with her shortly. He shuts the door. Dr. Bakers says to Nicole now you see why we can't switch these babies. Actually Nicole sees why now they have no choice but to switch them. He has to help her. Sr T returns to Sami and tells her all the doctor told her is that he's doing the best he can. Sami has to go see her and hold her. Sr T says what her baby needs now is her mother to be strong, to have faith. All they can do now is pray. Nicole says he's in this just as deep as she is and that lie he told the nun just proved it. Dr. Baker says he didn't lie. He was protecting himself and her. Nicole says exactly because we're in this together. He had the chance to tell the truth and he didn't. Dr. Baker says the nun caught him off guard. Dr. Baker tells Nicole he's done with her - this blackmail charade is over. Nicole says this is just the beginning for him. She has no qualms about going to the police and the medical board telling them about his baby brokerage thing he has going on. Dr. Baker says she'll be implicating herself. Nicole will tell them how he lied to her fiancé and putting her in touch with Mia. She's just an innocent victim just like all the other women he took advantage of. Dr. Baker says if he goes down he's taking her with him. She asks him if he really wants to spend the rest of his life behind bars because that is what will happen if he doesn't co-operate. She's got nothing to lose but he does - is it worth it?

Dr. Baker asks her how the hell she is going to pull this off. Nicole brags about all her lies and manipulations. He says what about five or ten years from now - will she be able to live with the guilt that will be with her every day. She will because she'll have everything she's ever wanted. She then claims that they have an opportunity to put Sami's baby in a home with her biological father and a loving mother. She continues lying about Sami's baby being put up for adoption. For once she wants things to go her way. She tells him to let her have that baby. Dr. Baker tells her to hand him Mia's baby. Nicole thanks him. She then has the audacity to refer to Sami's baby as 'her' daughter. Dr Baker walks out. Nicole picks up Sami's baby - Sami's baby has brains and starts crying as soon as that woman is holding her. She lies to the baby and says I'm you're mommy. She asks the baby for a smile - Sami's baby knows better and starts crying loudly. Sr T holds Sami's hand and says a prayer. Dr. Baker opens the door and says somebody wants to say hello. Sami asks if she's okay. Dr. Baker says she's perfectly healthy. All she needs now is a mother - would you like to hold your daughter


Hospital: Kayla comes out of the exam room and tells Maggie the guy is still unconscious. Maggie wishes she knew how long he was lying there before she found him. Kayla says it's a good thing she found him when she did because he might not have made it. Maggie asks if he's going to be alright. Kayla says it's too early to tell. He may need surgery. Maggie wishes she knew who he was. Does Kayla know what happened? Kayla says it was probably a mugging. As soon as the police get there they'll file a report. Kayla tells Maggie she shouldn't be walking alone at night. Maggie won't anymore but she'll feel a lot safer once they find whoever did this. Kayla is on the phone with the sitter - she'll check her car - it's probably there. She tells Maggie the sitter can't find Joe's stuffed dog and he can't sleep without it. Steve is working late so she's going to check if it's in the car. Maggie offers to do it - she's on her way home - she insists. Kayla hands her the keys and thanks her. Maggie asks if she will keep her informed about the patient. Kayla says of couse. She adds that she better get Dr. Jonas down here for the surgery. Kayla is with her patient when he wakes up. She tells him that he looks so familiar - has she seen him somewhere before?

The killer lunges forward and starts choking her.
