Monday Jul 6
Kiriakis mansion: Kate and Lucas are out on the terrace. Lucas tells her the focus group loved the shows they
screened for them - they liked Chloe and Daniel. Lucas says this is the start of big things for Hearth and Home and for
Chloe. Kate mutters 'not the start, the end.' Kate smiles as she recalls poisoning the apple and then watching Chloe
take a bite. First Chloe then Daniel - she's going to take care of them both. She listens to the recording she doctored -
Daniel is telling Chloe to do what he wants or he'll make her pay. Lucas returns - what was Daniel saying and why do
you have him recorded? Kate lies - when they have strategy meetings she records them - she doesn't want to lose any
of the good ideas. Lucas thinks she is taking this producer thing too far. Kate argues. She's trying to make his wife a
success - she thought that would make him happy. Lucas thinks it would be fantastic if Chloe got what she deserves.
Kate - You don't know how hard I'm working to make that happen. Lucas asks her why she keeps checking her
watch. She thinks he should go home and be with Chloe. He thinks that is the best idea she's had all night. His cell rings
- it's Lexie telling him Chloe is in the hospital. He needs to come quickly but drive safely. Lucas tells Kate Chloe is in in
the hospital - he asks Kate if she's coming. She says of course - under her breath she mutters - I wouldn't miss this for
Lucas & Chloe's house: Chloe collapses - Daniel urges her to stay awake. Chloe has a hard time focusing and
staying awake - Daniel tells her he's taking her to the hospital.
Sami's place: While holding Emily Hudson's memorial card from Rafe's wallet Sami flashes back to finding
Rafe at Emily's grave. She tells herself 'don't do this - don't go there.' She wonders why she can't know about her. Rafe
comes out wearing a towel - he has an idea - Sami has her back to him. Rafe asks what she is doing with his wallet.
Sami said she would be buy but she's only got $2 so ... Rafe thinks they're out of luck because he only has ... Sami
jumps in - $4. Rafe tells her there's an ATM close to the Chinese restaurant - he'll go and pick it up. He has a question
for her - in the mean time, join me? Sami tells him she'll be right there. When he heads back to the shower she pulls the
memorial card out of the pocket of her robe muttering - why did I have to find this thing. They're back in the living room
dressed now - Sami feels better. Rafe does too and that's because of her. She could have kept pushing but she didn't.
They both have people in their past they don't want to think about - leave them there, don't let them affect their future.
They kiss. Rafe leaves to pick up the food. Sami pulls out the memorial card and groans.
Brady Pub - Part 1: Max is going over his list when he gets a call from Bo. Bo tells him that he's on his way to
say goodbye. Max is glad he's coming - there's something he wants to ask him. Caroline comes along and asks him
how many more items on the list. Only 3. That means she has to say goodbye to her youngest - she doesn't know what
she'll do without him. Max says if she's worried about the pub he can put off his plans and stay and work with the new
manager. Caroline says no Chelsea is expecting him. All she meant was that she's going to miss him. Saying goodbye to
your youngest is tough on mother's. She tells him not to worry - everything will be fine with the new manager. They go
over to Arianna. Max tells his mom it's not exactly a done deal yet. Arianna is surprised to hear they're getting a new
manager. Caroline is equally surprised that Arianna didn't know. Max says it's one of the items on his list to do.
Caroline suggests he scratch it off his list right now. Max tells Arianna the new manager they were planning on hiring
was her. Arianna is surprised at the offer. Max apologises for not asking her sooner. He tells her there's a pay raise, the
work load will go up but she can handle it and besides she knows how to handle Ma. He'd feel better if she was
managing the place. Arianna accepts. Bo arrives - Max is glad he's there - he has something to ask him about Chelsea.
Max tells Bo that he loves Chelsea and he wants to make her happy always. There was a time when Bo didn't approve
of them being together. He'd kind of like for Bo to give him his blessing. Bo won't.
Mickey & Maggie's house: Melanie is reading her text messages - crying - it's really happening - Nathan
comes in from his run and finally notices that she's crying. He asks what's wrong. She tells him her brother is leaving for
London tonight to be with his girlfriend. Nathan thinks that's a good thing - doesn't she like the girl? Melanie shrugs.
When she first met Chelsea she thought she was a total bitch and wanted her to die but once she stopped trying to ruin
Chelsea's life she was okay. She knows her brother will be happy when he's with her but her brother is all she has. He's
the only person in the whole world that cares about her. Nathan doesn't think that is true. Melanie tells him that without
Max no one will care about her. Nathan disagree - what about the woman whose life she saved. Melanie says
Stephanie has to be nice to her - it's not really the same. Nathan says as her friend he's going to take her for a bite to
eat after he showers. Melanie thinks that will be cool - they can go to the pub and freeload off her brother one last time.
Nathan tells her that she has friends and when her brother leaves they're still going to be here.
Hospital: Maxine directs Dan into an an exam room - the lab is standing by waiting to do a tox screen. Daniel
also wants an abdominal x-ray done. He urges Chloe to stay awake - he has some questions. They're going to find out
what's wrong with her. Chloe tells him it hurts. Lexie comes in and asks what's going on. Daniel tells her that Chloe had
a headache earlier, now she's complaining of abdominal pain and her fever is spiking. He doesn't have any idea what's
causing it and the way things are going they may not have time to find out. Chloe complains about the pain. Daniel tells
her it will all go away. He turns on Lexie - he asked for that tox screen to be rushed. She reminds him he only sent the
blood to the lab 2 minutes ago. He's sure it's been longer than that. Lexie tells him he's way too involved -she's never
seen him like this before. Maybe he's too close to be in charge right now. Daniel states that he's going to see this
through. Lexie asks him what his next step is going to be. He's going to wait for the fever to go down. Lexie tells him
that they know with fevers this high things can go bad very quickly - shouldn't Chloe's husband be contacted? Daniel
tells her to call Lucas. Chloe tells Daniel that it hurts so much. He can't give her anything for the pain until they know
what's causing it. She's glad he's there. Lucas and Kate arrive. Lexie (Maggie is with her) tells them Chloe lost
consciousness but she's awake now - that's a good sign. Lucas wants to see her. Lexie tells him he can't - a nurse and
Daniel are working to get her fever down - he can go in soon. As Lexie is telling Lucas they will figure out what is
wrong Kate goes over to the window thinking 'Hopefully, by the time you do it will be too late.' Daniel comes out and
tells Lucas that Chloe's fever is down, she's in much less pain, her heart rate and blood pressure are down - she's
definitely getting better - his problem is that he doesn't know what caused it. The blood work all came back negative so
he's having it retested. Lucas goes in to see Chloe. Kate says with the blood work coming back clear there's nothing to
tell you what's wrong. Daniel states that she was clearly poisoned. Kate - That is puzzling, isn't it?
Lucas tells Chloe that she gave them quite a scare. She explains what the pain was like. He's so sorry - at least she
wasn't alone - thank God for Daniel. Outside the room Kate comments that Chloe is going to recover even though it
was clearly touch and go. Daniel says yes. Kate says he must have been pretty concerned. Daniel says I'm concerned
because I'm her doctor - he walks away. Kate mutters - Too concerned which is perfect. Kate goes into Chloe's room
and comments that Chloe stole the limelight tonight. Lucas thinks that they need to cut back on her schedule right now.
Kate tells him to wait and see how Chloe feels in the morning. Chloe agrees - she feels so much better than she did an
hour ago - it's a miracle. Kate says that Dan is a miracle worker - thank God he was at her side. Outside the room
Maggie tells Daniel she knows he's under a lot of stress but the way he snapped at Kate. Daniel knows he shouldn't let
her push his buttons but there's a limit. Maggie thinks that maybe he shouldn't be Chloe's doctor. Daniel says that he's
staying her doctor - that's his decision. Lexie returns with the second set of test results. Daniel looks at them - this can
not be possible. Everything is normal and the tox screen is negative - two tests so it can't be a mistake. How did she
end up with symptoms of poisoning just from a bite of an apple? Lexie says it's clinically impossible. Daniel says that's it
- he's calling in a specialist. Kate tells Lucas and Chloe that knowing Daniel he'll stay on top of this case until he finds
out what's wrong. Chloe says that Daniel's terrific but now that they're working together she wants to find another
doctor. Lucas tells her - whatever she wants but Kate doesn't think it's a good idea. Chloe - it's what I want. Lexie
gives him the name of a doctor that does a lot of work with toxins and leaves. Maggie brings him a folder and he tells
her that he's getting Chloe another doctor. Maggie knows how hard this is for him. Kate doesn't want to tell Chloe what
to do but Daniel has done so much for her and he knows her medical history. Lucas tells her that if Chloe wants another
doctor she'll have one. Chloe says Kate has a point but she still wants to change. Kate tells them she has to make some
calls. She steps out of the room fuming. Maggie tells Daniel that getting someone else to look after Chloe's case is a
smart idea. Daniel says that being this close only makes it easier for Kate to twist the knife. Maggie wonders why Kate
is acting like this - there's no way she'd risk telling Lucas - she knows what happened the last time. Kate skulks in the
doorway thinking 'You had a horrible day, didn't you Chloe? I wish I could say that next time will be easier but actually
it's going to be much, much worse.'
Pier - Sami's place: Rafe sees Arianna and asks where she is heading. She's going to the pub as the new
manager. Rafe hugs her and congratulates her. Arianna notices the bag of food and let's it be known that she's not
happy that he and Sami made up. He tells her that he loves Sami, she loves him - they had a problem and they worked
it out. Ari asks him if he really thinks that Sami is just going to leave it alone - no more digging about Emily. Rafe says
they agreed to leave the past in the past. Arianna asks him how dumb can you really be. At her place Sami is having an
internal argument with herself - she throws her hands up in the air - what am I going to do. Rafe tells her to give Sami
some credit. Ari thinks Sami will keep digging until she finds out all there is to know. Rafe repeats that they agreed to
leave things from the past in the past. Arianna is very sceptical - she asks him how many times Sami has promised him
one thing and done the exact opposite. She knows he doesn't want to answer that - 10 to 1 she's at home doing an
internet search on Emily Hudson right now. At Sami's - Sami is typing Emily Hudson into a search engine. Rafe doesn't
believe that - Sami promised him it's going to be a dead issue and it will be because they trust each other completely.
Sometimes he feels like he should tell her about Emily. Sami has to narrow the search - she adds Salem and Raphael
Hernandez. Arianna sounds panicked when she tells Rafe that he can't tell Sami - why would he want to. It's about trust
- he doesn't like keeping things from her. Ari tells him to get over it - she's sure Sami hasn't told him everything about
her past. Rafe - actually she has. Ari asks him to please keep this between them - can he do that for her - can he leave
it alone. He says just for now. Ari says not just for now. Rafe assures her that he'd never do anything to hurt her - she
knows that she doesn't she. She does. He says he has to leave - the food is getting cold. She knows that he loves Sami
and he's trying to protect her. Rafe - Yeah I loved Emily too. Back at Sami's place she finds an wedding announcement
for Emily and Rafe and realises that Emily died on the day she was going to marry Rafe.
Brady Pub - Part 2: Bo tells Max the reason he's not giving him his blessing is because it doesn't mean
anything and it shouldn't. If they want to be together they don't need anyone's permission. Max knows but there was a
time that Bo didn't want them together. Bo admits he was being an over-protective father. You love her and want to be
in a committed relationship with my daughter - it's her blessing you need. Bo adds that if he gathers his courage to take
it to the next level they can come home and have a big celebration here or they'll gather up the family and to to London.
Melanie hears this - I'm sorry - you're going to marry her? Max takes her aside - he thinks Melanie is over-reacting. He
thought the two of them made up. Melanie says they did. She thinks Chelsea is going to change him - he's not going to
care about people the way he used to. Max tells her he's still her brother - nothing will change that. Melanie knows she
is being selfish but she wants him to know that she loves him. Bo talks to Nathan about Melanie - he's heard about her
right. Nathan knows the whole story. Bo says okay, he won't say another word. Max tells Melanie he loves her too -
he always will - it's not like he's abandoning her. It feels like that to her. He reminds her that he asked her to go with
him but she wanted to stay in Salem. He thinks it was a good idea - the Horton guy seems to be paying her a lot of
attention. Melanie says they're not exactly best friends. Max says neither were Chelsea and I. Melanie tells him to shush
- he'll jinx it. Caroline comes along and tells Max his taxi is here. Very tearful goodbyes follow - first Bo, then Melanie
and then Caroline. Caroline and Melanie stand in the window of the door and watch as Max leaves. He stands outside
and waves goodbye to them.
Preview: Will to Chad (Mia is between them) - I'm sorry, who are you? Chad - I'm her boyfriend. Melanie
screaming as Nathan finds her naked in the outdoor shower at the Horton cabin. Stefano to Nicole - You would not be
foolish enough to lie to my son again, would you? Sami to Rafe - Is there a chance I could lose custody of Johnny
because of one of your secrets?
Wednesday Jul 8
Horton cabin - Part 1: Arianna enters the cabin followed shortly thereafter by Brady. They both exclaim at the
same time 'What the hell are you doing here?' Melanie comes in and asks who's ready for some fireworks on the
beach? Brady tells Melanie that he told her he didn't want her to ... Arianna jumps in - set you up with me? Brady says
he didn't say that. Melanie refutes his statement - it's exactly what he said. She'd like to know how this is about fixing
anyone up - they're just here to clean the cabin. Brady and Ari banter until Melanie butts in - just to be clear there was
no matchmaking going on. They both look at her letting her know they don't believe her. Arianna tells them they're on
their own - she's leaving. Melanie says she can't go yet - the ferries don't leave until tonight. Both Brady and Arianna
pounce on Melanie for not telling them that bit of information - they are not happy. Melanie tells them both to chill.
When they don't she says so we're all going to be mean and grouchy the whole time we're here - is that what I get for
trying to be nice. She points out that there is plenty to do at the cabin and luckily none of it requires speaking to each
other - they can do the rest of the work in silence. Ari is outside so Brady asks Melanie what possessed her to do this
little set-up today. She reminds him of helping save Philip and Stephanie's lives at the morgue - it felt nice to do
something for somebody else. Brady thinks it's wonderful that she's making progress on becoming a human but in the
future ... Melanie jumps in - butt out of your love life - no problem, you don't have one. Ari comes back and takes a
feather duster and stands on a chair to dust a light fixure. Brady tells her he'll do it - she insists she can. Melanie is
sweeping the floor and 'accidentally' bumps the chair sending Ari right into Brady's arms. Melanie guilessly asks Ari is
she's okay. She is - both Ari and Brady stare at Melanie. She declares she was just sweeping. Melanie picks up the
dust pan to sweep up some stuff from under the table. As she's bent over, Ari knocks the bucket of dirty water over
DiMera mansion - Part 1: Nicole puts Sydney in her playpen and rushes out to get her bottle. By the camera
movement we can tell someone has entered the room and is making their way to Sydney. Nicole returns and finds the
playpen empty and the French doors wide open - she panics and yells for Mary. Mary hasn't seen Sydney - she has no
idea where she is. Mary is on the phone with the cops when Stefano walks in with Sydney - he's so happy he gets to
raise a DiMera child from birth. He tells Nicole that he and his granddaughter were spending quality time together
bonding - something he wants to make a morning ritual. Nicole - Like hell you will. Nicole apologises - she was scared
half to death when she couldn't find Sydney. Stefano coldly tells her that she lives in his house - she plays by his rules.
He owns her and this child. Nicole is upset - how can he say that about his own grandchild. She wants Sydney to grow
up loved not as a piece of propery. The longer she lives here the more she deals with this insanity the more she
understands why Sami ... she stops but Stefano knows she was going to say she understands why Sami kept a child
away from Elvis. You don't want your child to be raised a DiMera but she is a DiMera - my blood, not yours.
Java Cafe - Part 1: Chad serves EJ milk, a doughnut and a coffee drink which he takes back to his table. He
tells Johnny that today he can have a sweet before breakfast. After Johnny takes a bite EJ offers him a sip of his coffee
saying it will be their little secret. Johnny whispers 'Mommy'. EJ mentions Nicole and Sydney and how much Nicole
loves him. Johnny whispers 'about Mommy'. EJ asks if he has a secret about mommy. Johnny says yes.
Sami's place: Sami is in front of the computer doing more searching on Emily when Rafe lets himself in. She
quickly closes her laptop - she asks Rafe if he ran here from his place. He did - he used to run marathons so the three
miles is like a warm-up. He wanted to see how she was doing - she was quiet at dinner last night. She says she is fine.
He asks if she slept will or not - what's wrong? He looks at the picture of Grace and apologises - stupid question. He
wants a hug but she says no - he's all sweaty. He asks if she has any idea when Nicole is going to bring Johnny by
again. She has no idea. That's part of the reason she didn't sleep well - she's freaking out that EJ may find out. Rafe tells
her not to worry - EJ is not going to get custody of Johnny. Look at the guy's resume - the court is not going to grant
him custody. He asks if she would mind if he had a shower. He also offers to cook her breakfast after. He takes his cell
phone and wallet out and leaves them on the coffee table. Will catches Sami putting the memorial card back in Rafe's
wallet and asks her what she's doing going through Rafe's wallet. She says she was getting some cash. Will calls her on
her lie. He sarcastically says she's probably right not to trust Rafe but the only thing is that Grace is gone, Allie's gone,
Johnny's gone and I'm gone so if you can't trust Rafe who do you have left. Sami tells Will that of course she trusts Rafe
- that's not what this is about. Rafe comes into the room and greets Will. Will is out of there - Sami tries to stop him but
is not successful. Rafe picks up his wallet and sees the memorial card sticking out - Sami, what have you done now?
He pulls out the card - why did she take this? He thought they talked about this. Sami says they didn't finish the
conversation. She knows she said that she was okay with him keeping some things private and she meant it when she
said it but she just can't. He's keeping something from her that's really important to him. How can she not care about
that? The past is part of who he is - the people he loved, the people he lost - she obviously means a lot to him. She
thought their relationship was deeper than that - it made her realise that maybe she doesn't really know him all that well.
When Rafe doesn't respond she asks if he's just going to freeze her out. He says she's acting like she can't trust him.
She exclaims that of course she trusts him. She tells him to look at this from another way. She brings up the custody
battle - they're going to bring up every rotten thing she's done in her entire life. He's an important part of her life now.
Rafe - are you saying they're going to come after me too. Sami says of course they are. Is there a chance I could lose
custody of Johnny because of one of your secrets. He asks her what kind of secrets does she think he's keeping. Sami
mentions that Emily died really young. Rafe - yeah she did. Sami doesn't understand why he can't tell her about Emily.
Rafe says he'll tell her whatever she wants to know - he only hopes she's not going to be sorry. He tells her that Emily
was the love of his life. They were engaged to be married and she died unexpectedly the day they were to be married.
She's so sorry ... and ... He asks her what more does she need to know. She wonders why he couldn't just tell her that
in the first place. Because it hurts. Sami says of course it does. Is there anything else he wants to say. There isn't. Sami
takes his hand - she's really sorry for his loss. He doesn't have to talk about Emily. She tells him she loves him and she
doesn't know what she'd do without him. He loves her too.
Mickey & Maggie's house: Mia is leaving as Nathan comes in. Maggie asks how his meeting with his
Great-Grandma Alice went. It was great. Maggie says she called right after he left and she thinks Nathan is the bee's
knees - that's high praise coming from her. Nathan pulls out Tom's medical bag - she gave him this. He told her he
couldn't take it but she insisted. Maggie is glad - Nathan isn't. He's not sure he can live up to what Great-Grandmother
Alice expects him of him. Maggie tells he's a doctor - he's already lived up to her expectations. Nathan disagrees.
People think that having a medical degree automatically makes you competent and capable of making life and death
decisions but it's more complex and demanding than that. University Hospital is expecting a hero. He wants to do right
by the family name but let's face it, I'm no Tom Horton. Maggie knows they all worry about living up to expectation but
isn't that what drives them. Nathan feels that no matter how driven he is he'll never measure up to the great Tom
Horton. Maggie wishes he had known Tom - he would have seen how humble he was. Nathan heard that he was never
intimidating. Maggie says that he didn't have a grandiose bone in his body. She adds that his mom was pregnant with
him at the funeral. It was a sad day but he gave them so much hope. It's the natural cycle of life - one man dying, one
being born. Nathan talks about taking his mom's name, Horton. There was never a connection with his dad. Maggie
tells him he did the right thing - never second guess that decision. Nathan didn't know that year's later it would be hard
on him being a Horton and trying to live up to Great Granddad's legacy. Maggie tells him to take that pressure off
himself. No one expects him to fill the void left by Tom - he has to carve his own way, make his own name for himself
and then he will make Tom very, very proud. They hug - Nathan asks if she's ready to go to the cabin. Maggie tells him
there's a change of plans - Melanie wanted to go alone with a couple of friends she invited so they've been disinvited.
Nathan had thought that Melanie had accepted his apology. He doesn't want things to be awkward with both of them
living there. Maggie is sure he'll smooth things over.
Java Cafe - Part 2: Mia is behind the counter when Chad leans against it. He knows she said she didn't want
to talk to him ... she asks him if he wants a latte. He'll make it himself - he jumps behind the counter. She realises that he
works there too. He tells her he just finished his first shift. He thought she'd be happy that they're working together
again. She reminds him that she told him she never wanted to see him again, why would she want to work with him? He
thought she didn't mean it. She lashes out - he disappears from her life over a year ago, not a word since then - does he
think they're just going to pick up from where they left off? He didn't think that - he thought they could be friends. Mia
doesn't want to be his friend. She's been through a lot in the past year - she's changed. He claims he has too. She asks
how - does he call people back now? Chad says he didn't get a chance to say goodbye to anyone. She sarcastically
asks if they don't have phones in reform school. He corrects her - military school. He tells her not to be mad - he's
sorry. His parents didn't want him to have anything to do with his old life but he thought about her every day. He asks if
she thought about him. She holds her stomach - she did. Chad says he never told her how he tracked her down -
Kinsie told him she was living here. He's glad he found her. He wonders why she looks mad - he thought they were
tight. Mia recalls an encounter with Chad at her former high school. Mia doesn't want to do this now - she can not lose
this job. Chad tells her he'll see her tomorrow and walks out as Will walks in. He asks Mia what's up. Nothing - what
can she get him. He doesn't want anything. She can't really talk right now. Will says it's okay - he's not really in the
mood to talk. Chad returns - he left his car keys. He notices that Will and Mia are standing close together. He wonders
why she didn't tell him that this is the reason she was blowing him off. Will asks - who are you? Chad - I'm her
DiMera mansion - Part 2: EJ returns. Nicole asks him how his father son time with Johnny was. It was
interesting. He knew that she and Johnny had a secret but he didn't realise it was about Samantha. Nicole plays dumb -
strange. EJ wants to know what it's about. Nicole pretends to think about it - oh that must be it. She admits to blurting
out something about Sami in front of him - that she was impossible and driving her crazy. She felt really bad for saying
that about Sami in front of her child so she asked Johnny not to repeat it. EJ - that's it? Nicole says that's the only thing
she can think he meant - why, did he say more? EJ says no. Nicole apologises for knocking Johnny's mother in front of
him - she promises it won't happen again. He goes to check on Johnny. Stefano asks Nicole to please tell him that she
wouldn't be foolish enough to lie to his son again, would she? He knows she feels sorry for Sami but he has to caution
her - she has to know who her family is and where her loyalties lie. Nicole doesn't care about Sami, she's worried
about Rafe nosing around and asking questions. If they don't do something about him he'll keep at it and figure out
what's going on. Stefano assures her he'll take care of Rafe. She asks him how he's planning to take care of Rafe.
Stefano shrugs - there are two ways to destroy a man. One is too literally take his life, the other is to make his life not
worth living and of course keep your hands clean. Nicole is about to take Sydney for a nap when EJ returns. He wants
a quick word with her - alone. He asks her to sit down. He admits to being really hard to be around these past few
months. He loves her very much. He mentions that they haven't been on a honeymoon yet. She understands - Johnny is
with them now and he comes first. He loves how patient she is with Johnny - it means a great deal to him. He wanted to
show her grateful he is - he hands her a gift. It's her locket with a new chain - inside are pictures of Sydney and Johnny.
She loves it. In the foyer Stefano is on the phone and he mentions Rafe Hernandez and Emily Hudson - I see, so that's
what happened. EJ tells Nicole that after Samantha and all her lies he's so lucky to have her. He apologises for
mentioning Sami - he doesn't want to talk about her - she's certainly not going to interfere in their lives anymore. They
hear Johnny calling out for his Daddy so EJ goes to tend to him. Nicole looks at a picture of Johnny and then picks up
the phone and makes a call. Sami, it's Nicole - we need to talk about Johnny. She turns to find EJ standing there
Horton cabin - Part 2: Melanie shrieks - do you have any idea how disgusting that water was? Ari points to
the door - the shower is outside. Melanie makes her exit but not quietly. Brady tells Ari to remind him to never mess
with her. Ari declares she had it coming. She agrees with Brady that Melanie is a sweet girl but she adds that she's
intensely annoying. Ari is glad that they have a moment alone. Just because the two of them are not interested in seeing
anyone or each other doesn't mean that they have to be hostile every time they see each other. Brady agrees. He
doesn't want her to think that he doesn't like her because he does. She likes him too. She thanks him for catching her
when she fell. He says it's okay, you're light. She looks at him - you're strong. Melanie is taking her shower when she
turns around and sees Nathan - she screams.
Preview: Brady to Melanie (Ari & Nathan are at the table as well) - You got any better suggestions Melanie?
Melanie - How about strip poker? Will to Chad (Mia is next to him) - Why don't you juust leave her the hell alone jerk.
Stephanie to Philip - The only way I can be safe is if I'm not with you. EJ yelling at Nicole - You understand why she
didn't tell me about Grace until after she was dead, do you!
Thursday Jul 9
Kiriakis mansion - Part 1: Henderson opens the door to Stephanie - he'll get Philip. Philip is right there - he
was just coming to see her. He hates the way they left things and she must too because she's here. He holds out a velvet
box - peace offering. When she won't open it he does. It's a necklace with the Greek symbol for eternity. She can't
accept it. He doesn't understand - he thought she came back to ... She came back to return the car - she can't keep it.
Philip doesn't want the car back - he only wants her. She proclaims that it's over - she told him that. He knows what
she said and it all sounded so reasonable and logical that he didn't call her but he can't have another night like last night.
He can't sleep, eat or think straight. It's the same for her. Philip wants to know why they're putting themselves through
this hell if they both feel the same way. Why is she giving up on him? She told him why. He asks if it's what she really
wants. It's the way it has to be. He points out that isn't what he asked. She tells him she doesn't want to live without him
but she doesn't know of any other way. He does - come away with him to Greece. When she asked him before he
wasn't ready - he is now, let's do it - let's start a new life together. She reminds him that he wouldn't even consider
moving away before. He says he should have done it because if he had they wouldn't be having this conversation.
Stephanie says you want to move to Greece where your father was born, where you still have family and you consider
that getting away from it all. Philip says then we'll go see your family and help them out. Stephanie is having a hard time
picturing him leaving in a hut doing aid work. Philip says he was a Marine - he can do grunt work. He would do
anything for her. He kisses her and tells her he loves her. He tries to get her to go upstairs to make love. She holds her
ground. She doesn't blame him for not believing her - for thinking that he can change her mind. That he can kiss her and
make love to her and it will all be okay. He says it will be. She says he thinks he can because she's jerked him around
so often - breaking up, getting back together - it's no wonder he's having a hard time accepting it this time. Philip asks
her what's changed. Nothing - they just keep trying to change for each other but they can't - it's not who they are. Philip
swears that he won't let anyone hurt her again. She tells him the only way she can be safe is if she's not with him. As
long as she's not a Kiriakis she doesn't have to be afraid of the DiMera's or his father - she leaves. Outside the door
she cries - inside Philip looks upset.
Horton cabin: Brady and Ari are just about to kiss when they hear Melanie yelling 'What are you doing?' They
rush out to hear Melanie calling Nathan a pervert and telling him to turn around. Brady goes on the attack and starts
questioning Nathan - Melanie finally gets through to Brady telling him that she knows the guy - he's her roommate.
Brady looks at Nathan - wait a minute, you're the guy. Nathan wants to know what guy. Brady asks Melanie if she
wants to tell him or should he. Melanie tells them the show is over - she'd like to get dressed. Brady introduces himself
to Nathan and then introduces Arianna. Melanie keeps telling them to have the conversation elsewhere but the three
others have a nice chat. Finally Ari decides to help Melanie out and tells the guys they should continue this inside. She
and Brady head inside but Nathan stands next to the shower and asks Melanie what Brady meant when he said 'you're
they guy'. Melanie says the guy that is annoying and super egotistical and can't take a hint. Nathan tells Melanie this
reminds him of when they first met except he was the one half-dressed - they really need to stop meeting like this. She
throws her bath sponge at him - he just says 'hmmm ... lavender - my favourite.' Inside the three of them are talking
about Nathan being an intern - he assures him that he's gotten used to the crazy hours. Melanie comes back - she's
surprised that he wanted to spend the day off here. Brady asks Nathan how he got there - he looks at Melanie - he
thought she said the ferries weren't running until tonight. Nathan tells them he took the Horton motor boat but half way
he realised that he was almost out of motor. Melanie says sarcastically - we'll be stuck here the whole day together - it's
a dream come true.
Melanie is upset that the TV doesn't work. Nathan takes the remote to check the batteries. Melanie notices that Brady
and Ari are appearing to get closer so she grabs Nathan saying that it's such a funny coincidence that he likes bird
watching - so does she. She drags him outside. Ari wonders what they should do to pass the time. Brady suggest
playing poker. She says she's not very good. Brady says they won't play for a lot of money - just enough to keep it
interesting. Melanie peeks inside and then storms in - they have the whole cabin to themselves and they're going to play
Go Fish!!! Ari - Poker, actually. Brady tells them they're welcome to join them. Nathan's for it. Melanie - whatever.
Nathan asks what they're playing for. Brady suggests nickel - dime - Nathan suggests beer. Melanie doesn't drink
besides Maggie doesn't keep any beer here besides that beer and money are boring. How about strip poker? Brady
repeats sceptically - strip poker? Melanie tells him she's awesome at poker - one time she got a Royal Blush. Nathan
snickers - is that higher or lower than a Royal Flush. Melanie says the one with all the same colour, right or the one
where you have two of one kind, three of another. Brady chuckles - that's a Full House. Ari thinks that maybe this isn't
such a good idea - she's not good at poker. Melanie tells her it will be great - they'll have teams - girls against the guys.
Brady is down - Nathan is in. He tells Melanie to get the beach towel - she's going to need it. When we return the girls
are fully clothed - the guys are shirtless. Ari folds. Melanie says gosh all I have is a pair of fives and three aces - oh
wait, didn't we call that a Full House? They tell the guys to cough it up. They both remove their jeans and reveal their
boxers. Melanie shuffles - it's nitty gritty time babies.
Java Cafe Mia denies that Chad is her boyfriend. Chad insincerely remarks 'Sorry babe, old habits, I can't
seem to break them'. Mia can't talk right now - the manager has already warned her once. Chad is upset - she can't
talk to him but she can talk to the dork. Mia tells Chad not to call Will that. Will - Why don't you leave her the hell
alone jerk? Chad pushes his way through them telling Mia he'll catch her later. He goes to the counter and glowers as
he watches Will and Mia talk. Will asks Mia why she never told him about that guy. Mia brings Will a coffee - she tells
Will her manager is on a break now. She notices that he is upset. Will asks her if she went out with that guy. She says a
long time ago - a couple of times - it was no big deal. Will comments that it seems like a big deal to the guy. Mia tells
Will that Chad is a total psycho - forget about him. Mia returns and tells Will she's officially off duty. He asks her if she
wants to do something - he suggests a movie or a round of Goofy Golf. She warns him that she's the Tiger Woods of
Goofy Golf. Will isn't worried - he reminds her of her bowling score. (Chad is listening the entire time they're bantering
back and forth). Both Will and Mia notice Chad eavesdropping so Will suggests going to Buddy's after for a burger.
Mia says whatever - she's going home to change. She tells Will to call her in an hour. She leaves - Will stops Chad
from following her. Will tells Chad to stay the hell away from Mia. Chad says like you have - like all the guys at West
did - why would they - she's seriously hot. Will says Mia is right - he is psycho. Chad says his girl Mia would never say
that about him. He's surprised she never told Will about them. Will says she did - she says they were no big deal. Chad
says she didn't tell you how into me she was - always calling and texting and leaving messages. Will doesn't give a damn
about all his lies - he says that he (Chad)and Mia are finished.
DiMera mansion - Part 1: Nicole quickly hangs up the phone when she sees EJ and asks about Johnny. EJ
gives her an update and then asks her why she was on the phone to Samantha. EJ demands an answer - Nicole goes
on the attack. EJ continues ranting - Nicole yells back. He asks her what possible reason could she have to talk to
Samantha - what reason let alone his son. Are you keeping something from me - I'm going to find out what it is. Nicole
tells him that Sami has been calling her to convince him to drop the custody suit. She claims she told Sami she couldn't
help her. EJ apologises. He doesn't understand why Samatha would call her of all people - why would she think that
she would help her. Nicole shrugs - who knows. Maybe because they're both mothers and she just lost a baby and she
may have thought she'd be sympathic. EJ knows she was initially sympathic to Sami's position but he hopes that's
changed. Nicole says that Sami is a hateful person but if someone tried to take Sydney away from her she'd do
whatever she could to stop that from happening. She's not on Sami's side but being a mother she understands where
she's coming from. EJ flies off the handle screaming - you understand why she didn't tell me about my child until after
Grace was dead. Nicole demands to know what he's accusing her of. She would never keep his child from him! EJ isn't
saying she's Samantha - he understands that she is honest and loyal always. She contradicts him - not always but she
always tries to put him and Sydney first - they're her priority. EJ asks for forgiveness - he has a lot of things on his mind.
She tells him he's entitled - he's been through a terrible nightmare. EJ doesn't think that's an excuse - he shouldn't be
taking it out on her. She's a victim - Samantha is harassing her now too. EJ starts ranting about Sami causing turmoil in
his life. Nicole tells him yelling and screaming is only making him more upset. EJ tells Nicole she puts up with a lot from
him. Nicole declares she's pretty tolerant. EJ agrees and says and patient too. He's been impossible. Nicole
understands - it's a terrible trauma to lose a child you've never met. EJ says he doesn't see why it had to be such a
tortuous ordeal because he has her and his beautiful daughter Sydney. He should be able to handle this with more
dignity. Nicole makes excuses for him - he's angry. This isn't just about Grace dying - it's about deception. EJ agrees.
He doesn't like being angry especially when it's directed at someone like it or not with someone he'll always have a
connection with. Nicole says once you have a child with someone it's never really over. EJ apologises for thinking that
she could perpetrate or do something like this. Stefano walks - he could not agree more - not the mother of their
EJ gets a call that he has to take. After he leaves Nicole asks Stefano if he enjoys torturing her. It has it's moments. He
also gets a kick trying to figure out what's up her sleeve on any given day like her latest devislish little exploits. He
laughs - a scarf and sunglasses for a disguise - he's disappointed. Nicole plays coy - she doesn't know what he's talking
about. He's talking about her pitiful disguise that she came up with to set up that pitiful clandestine meeting between
Giovanni and his sainted mother. Nicole asks him how he found out. He asks her when she's going to figure out that he
knows everything about her - she's slipping under all this pressure. Nicole disagrees - she's handling it. Everything is
under control. Stefano certainly hopes so because he has seen his son's rage because of Samantha and what she has
done. He shudders to think what he will do when he finds out about Nicole's appalling secrets. Nicole tells Stefano he
may think he's one-upped her but him not telling EJ that Sydney is his and Sami's daughter is like a weapon of mass
destruction for her. Stefano says it's more of mutual assured destruction which makes them allies. If they're allies then
why is he always threatening her. Stefano replies that he's trying to remind her that her husband is a DiMera and a
DiMera will always choose his own blood if he's forced to make a choice. Nicole says she doesn't have to listen to this
- she needs some air. She leaves. Stefano picks up EJ and Nicole's wedding picture - this woman will not deprive me
of my progeny. EJ asks if he's talking about Nicole. He was talking about Samantha. EJ admits he's been a little
disconcerted but Stefano's lack of reaction to his granddaughter's death. Stefano says you know that family is
everything to me. EJ apologises - he's probably paranoid. Stefano agrees. EJ supposes he's projecting on to him what
he's sensing from Nicole - she hasn't said it in so many words but she's made it pretty clear that she thinks he's being
too hard on Samantha. Stefano would assume that Nicole would want to see Samantha punished. EJ declares he isn't
punishing Samantha - he doesn't want a woman that denied a child her birthright to raise his son and he's going to make
sure she doesn't.
Waterfront: Victor greets Bo heartily. Bo thinks he's sounding chipper - is there something he wants to tell
him. Victor says that things have settled down - things are under control. Bo assumes he's referring to the feud with the
DiMera's. Victor replies that there isn't any feud - not anymore. Bo - Right, ever since you put Stephanie on a short
leash. Victor declares he doesn't know what he's talking about. Bo says he threatened Stephanie so she wouldn't point
the finger at EJ. Victor says Philip and Stephanie are engaged - he doesn't go around threatening women his son intends
to marry. He was comforting her - she was very traumatized. Bo says that is all the more reason she shouldn't protect
the person that caused it. Are none of the Kiriakis's interested in justice. Victor tells him they're interested in living in
peace. He tells Bo to leave it alone and let Philip and Stephanie have the happiness they deserve.
Kiriakis mansion - Part 2: Bo comes in and finds Philip pouring himself a drink - he called Titan and was told
that Philip was working from home today. Philip asks if he's checking up on him. Bo says he ran into Victor and Victor
tried to convince him to back off so he and Stephanie could be happy. Philip says there's two words that can never be
used in the same sentence. Bo asks him what happened. Philip tells him Stephanie called off the engagement. Bo -
Sorry - what happened. Philip - Our father happened. Bo asked if Victor said something to Stephanie. Philip says he
didn't have to - he just is. Philip says look at us Kiriakis men, Brady, me, Dad ... he tells Bo he's lucky because he got
out. Bo says he was raised a Brady - it's different for Philip - he was groomed to take over for the old man. He says he
did give it a try - he and Hope moved in after he found out Victor was his father but he couldn't make it work so they
left. Philip asks if he has any regrets. Bo - Never. He tells Philip he's going to have to figure out what's important to him,
money, power, Stephanie. A woman like that - he can't have both - he's going to have to make a choice.
Brady Pub: Nicole comes into the pub and sees Stephanie sitting at a table - she asks her if Brady is at the
mansion. Stephanie wouldn't know. Nicole - you do live there, don't you? Stephanie tells her that she and Philip are
over - she called off the engagement. Nicole is surprised - why would she do that? Nicole quickly changes her tune -
that's awful - what happened? Stephanie says she's not a Kiriakis and she can't live like one. Nicole assumes this is
because of what happened to her. Stephanie - I was expected to help your husband who had me kidnapped and put in
a morgue drawer over my cousin Sami whose daughter died and now she's losing her son to EJ. Nicole asks if this
means she's going to testify against EJ at Johnny's custody hearing tomorrow. Stephanie is going to do what's right.
Nicole asks her what she means. Stephanie tells her she'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out. Nicole - You can't
testify against EJ, do you understand me. Stephanie asks her if she's really trying to talk her out of it after what EJ did to
her. Nicole declares she has no proof. Stephanie understands that Nicole wants to be loyal to her husband but there
has to be a conscience in there somewhere. She's a mother now - doesn't she have any empathy for Sami. Nicole does.
Stephanie asks her how the hell she could be married to someone like that. Nicole loves her husband and she will do
anything to protect her family - she leaves. Victor comes over and tells Stephanie he saw her talking to Nicole - he
trusts no treaties were signed. Stephanie replies that she can't even talk to Nicole without him thinking they're hatching
some sort of a plot. Victor says she's about to become a Kiriakis ... Stephanie says no, no, no. She realises he hasn't
heard so she tells him that she and Philip are over. Victor - Like hell you are.
Mickey & Maggie's house: Mia comes in and cries - this can't be happening. Why did he have to come back.
She recalls an encounter with a girl at school - during their conversation a piece of looseleaf falls out of her binder - she
had been scribbling Mrs. Chad Peterson on it. The girl teases her and says I suppose you want to be his baby mama
too. Mia denies it and then says maybe someday. She holds her stomach - how can I forget when our baby is right here
DiMera mansion - Part 2: EJ is working on the custody case when Nicole returns. Nicole tells him they have
to talk about this Sami thing because everything has changed.
Preview: Hope to Bo - I couldn't do it Brady. I couldn't go through it again. Arianna to Brady - I'm sorry but I
don't think this is going to work. Stephanie to Philip - Just let me go. Just say goodbye. Nicole to EJ - EJ, is that what
you want? Is that what you want for your son?

Sami's place - Part 1: When Roman finds out that Sami isn't home he tells Rafe that he'll try and catch up with
her later. Rafe asks if he called Sami earlier. When Roman says yes Rafe tells him that Sami said it was a wrong number
- is there a reason that she'd have to cover up a call from her own dad? None that Roman can think of. Rafe is
sceptical - he thinks Roman is hiding something from him. Rafe tells Roman he's not the enemy - he's on Sami's side.
Roman asks if that gives him full access to all aspects of her life. Rafe explains that Sami is still reeling from Grace's
death and dealing with that jerk in a custody battle - she's not in the best place and she's emotional. When she's
emotional she makes impulsive decisions. Roman - Like asking her bodyguard to move in with her? Rafe says yeah,
maybe but all he's trying to do is help her - he's on her side. Roman is too and whether he trusts him or not is besides
the point. If he wants to know what Sami is up to he should ask her and if she doesn't want to tell him that's her
business. It's between the two of them - deal with it. Roman is no longer there - Rafe calls the pub and finds out from
Caroline that Sami never made it to the pub. He tells her that he and Sami must have gotten their signals crossed -
nothing to worry about. After he hangs up he mutters - Damn it Sami. You said you were going to drop it about Emily.
You better have.
Waterfront: Sami tells Meredith that she is so glad that she ran into her again. Meredith wants to know what
Sami wants with her. Sami just wants to talk to her - she feels that the two of them connected. That feels weird to
Meredith so she's going to leave. Sami assures her she's not trying to hurt her - she just really needs to talk to her about
Emily. Meredith doesn't want to talk about her sister but Sami pushes - they have something in common - they both
know about loss and grief. She knows this is hard but she really needs to talk to her about Emily - she promises she's
not a stalker. Meredith doesn't think she is - she thinks she knows the reason Sami is really here. It's about family -
people you're close to. Sami asks her what she means. Meredith mentions that after Emily died it was so hard for her to
be around people that knew her - it hurt too much. She's a stranger familiar with grief - she thinks it's easier for Sami to
talk to her than to people that knew her little girl. Sami shrugs - maybe you're right. Meredith says it's all still so painful -
not just that she died - but she died because of something that never should have happened. Sami comments that
whatever it was it must have been horrible. Meredith - you have no idea. Sami comments - you're still grieving for her,
aren't you? Meredith says if people tell you it gets better they're lying or they don't know what they're talking about.
Sure it changes - the pain isn't as sharp but it's always there. She reminisces about her sister as Sami inserts encouraging
words and phrases. Sami says she sounds really great - it must be really hard moving on without her. Meredith admits
that something will happen and she thinks 'I have to tell Emily about it' - they told each other everything. Sami asks if
something happened. Meredith says everything changed because of him - Emily's fiancÚ, Rafe Hernandez. Sami asks if
she didn't like Emily's fiancÚ. She did at the beginning. He was great - like something out of a movie. He was good
looking, funny and Emily seemed so happy in the beginning. They all believed he'd do anything for her. Sami - the real
hero type, huh? Meredith thought he would die for Emily and she's the one who died. Sami asks what happened.
Meredith can't talk about - she leaves.
Police station: Bo and a cop drag Daniel in as Daniel tries to get Bo to listen to him. He has to get back to the
hospital because Kate is going to poison Chloe again. Bo warns him that he's close to be charged with assault - calm
down. The cop starts dragging Daniel to the interrogation room. Daniel yells that he won't calm down - Kate is going to
kill Chloe and they're not doing anything to stop her. Bo goes into the interrogation room and tells Daniel that he has to
focus - Chloe is in ICU - nothing is going to happen her and he's here until he talks to him. Daniel agrees to tell Bo
whatever he wants to know. When he comes out of the room Bo tells Hope that Daniel is sticking to his story. He
knows there's a lot Dan's not telling them - he wishes he could sit in on the interrogation. Hope asks him what he thinks
of Dan's theory - is Kate crazy enough to poison her own daughter-in-law. Bo shrugs - You know what she did to
Sami. He tells Hope to not let Daniel go until she knows everything he knows about what happened to Kate and why
he thinks Kate did it.
Interrogation room Hope places a tape recorder in front of Daniel telling him not to do anything stupid. She
goes through standard procedure making her sure he states that he knows he has the right to have an attorney present
and by waving those rights anything he says can be used against him in a court of law. Daniel understands. Hope starts -
You say you haven't done anything legally wrong but ... Dan admits that he has made some very big mistakes. When
Hope asks him if he thinks his affair with Chloe Horton was a mistake he answers that he thinks it was inevitable. When
asked if he was angry when Chloe ended the affair he responds that he was angry at the situation, not her. Hope brings
up Dan's theory that Kate Roberts found out about the affair and took revenge on Chloe. Dan knows that she finds it
hard to believe that Kate did what he said. Hope thinks it seems a bit after the fact. Daniel is sure it does seem that way
but he's missed a few things here and after thinking about it he thinks it's a lot more complicated that that. Kate not only
resented that he and Chloe were lovers but worse than that from Kate's point of view is that he still loves Chloe. He
says 'I don't love Kate, Chloe doesn't love Lucas, Chloe and I love each other.' Hope - you're saying that Kate has
been obsessing about you and Chloe for a very long time.' Daniel mentions the phone call to Maggie. Does she know
how long Kate must have been planning this - she taped his voice and spliced it together or something. She didn't want
to just hurt Chloe, she wanted to hurt him too. A lot of this has to do with Lucas. Hope asks if he thinks Lucas is
involved in this. Daniel doesn't know but Kate is weird about her son - like she has to run his life, constantly protect
him. Hope asks if he thinks Kate planted the drug in his apartment to incriminate him because of Lucas. He doesn't
know. He would never hurt Chloe - he loves Chloe. Hope says even if she believes that how does she know that Chloe
felt the same about him - she certainly can't ask her. Hope tells Daniel he's using an attorney's tactic - giving an alternate
theory of what happened - the problem is he has no evidence to back it up but the evidence against him is concrete.
Daniel says the concrete evidence was manufactured by Kate. He looks at Hope - you don't believe me. Hope tells him
it's a theory - she doesn't believe or disbelieve them - she considers them. She could consider another theory - you told
me how much you loved Chloe and she broke off the affair and chose Lucas over you. Then look what happened - you
resigned from the hospital and planned on leaving Salem. Daniel argues that things changed - he and Chloe talked - they
were going to be together. Hope shrugs - so you say. Again, no evidence that was true. She also states it's contradicted
by Maggie overhearing the phone call - the phone call, the resignation makes him look like a very angry man - like in 'if
I can't have her no one will.' Daniel insists that it wasn't true. Hope didn't say it was - it's just a theory but here's the big
problem - the one person who can tell them which theory is true can't talk which brings her to another theory - what if
Chloe knew something that someone didn't want her to share.
Squad room Abe walks in when Bo is on the phone to the lab - he wants that report on his desk 3 hours ago.
Abe asks him if he pulled Jonas in. They did - Hope is questioning him but he doesn't think they're going to get more
than what they already have. Abe - how about a confession? Bo tells him that not to hold his breath - he didn't do it.
Abe - And you know that how? Bo says because he's freaking out - he's afraid that Chloe might die. Abe sarcastically
tells him to let Daniel go because no suspect has ever pretended concern about the victim. Bo asks him what crawled
up your ... Abe tells him he's already had three calls, two from reporters and one from the state's Attorney General
wondering if Bo is going to coddle this suspect like he did his half-brother. Bo denies that he's coddling Daniel - he's
trying to find out what actually happened. Abe points out that he has hard evidence against Daniel - don't screw this up
- your ass is on the line. He goes on to say this case is turning into a nightmare. One of the reporter's brought up the fact
that Jonas is Bo's father's godson. Bo says - and you think I'd let that sway me? Abe is saying it can look like it. Bo
says you want me to arrest a man I don't think is guilty. Abe wants him to take that mountain of evidence as seriously as
he takes his gut. Bo has a solution - he tells Abe to fire him. Abe doesn't want to fire him and he insists he's not trying to
influence this case - he's just warning Bo that he's under a lot of scrutiny and whether he likes it or not, appearances
matter. A cop brings Bo a report from the lab. Abe can tell by Bo's expression it's not good news. Bo - Not for Jonas
Interrogation room Daniel wishes Chloe could talk - she'd back up everything he's telling her. Hope asks him if
the affair was over. He told her it was. Hope - but you were still in love with her? He says yes. Hope - Kate found out
about the affair and was upset. When he says yes Hope asks him to explain to her why he would accept Kate's offer to
do the television show with Chloe. Daniel tells her that Kate bribed him and this is something Hope can verify. Kate
offered to match his salary and donate it to a breast cancer charity in his late wife's name. Daniel insists that Kate is
setting him up with this scenario. Hope pushes - he accepted that this woman who hated what you had done needed
you as a guest star and only you? Daniel did - he believed that Kate had forgiven him after he saved Philip's life. He
accepted it - he didn't say 'Wow, Kate is planning to kill Chloe and hang it on me'. Hope asks - but you were still in
love with her - did you think it was a good idea to work with her? Daniel says it wasn't a good idea. It was painful and
it threatened to get out of hand - that is why he resigned and was planning to leave Salem. Hope - So you say - again
we can't ask Chloe for confirmation. Hope brings up what Chloe did say the last time she was in the hospital - she told
Lexie that she didn't want him anywhere near him. Why would she say that? Bo knocks on the door and hands Hope a
piece of paper. Daniel asks her what that is. She tells him she's the one asking the questions. Why would Chloe not
want him to treat her. Daniel thinks she was afraid. Hope - Afraid of you? Why would she be afraid of you. He didn't
say she was - Hope did. He thinks Chloe was afraid that the pain medication, with him in the room, might make her say
something that indicated the way she felt. Hope points out that they only have is word for it. Daniel isn't sure that is true.
Hope asks if he thinks Chloe confided in someone. He answers maybe Nicole but that isn't what he's talking about. He
thinks Kate confided in someone - Victor Kiriakis. Daniel asks if they're done - he wants to go the hospital. She tells
him no. His theory makes Kate out to be a really formidable opponent. Not only driven but obsessed with wanting to
hurt not only him but Chloe, capable of splicing audio recordings, planting evidence, placing his fingerprints on it and
finding someone to impersonate him to pick up the prescription. She's not only good - she's had a real streak of luck,
hasn't she? It's all gone her way. Daniel says that's because no one knew what she was doing. Hope - Now this is the
part that really stumps me - how did she know what poison to use. How did she get it? I thought you had to be a
doctor to do that. Daniel - You do. Look - the one thing I want you to believe is that Chloe is in danger. For God's
sake you can do whatever you want with me but you keep Kate away from her.
Squad room Abe looks at the lab report - it's the second time around and it's Daniel's prints, only Daniel's
prints. Bo says yeah and the prescription was in his handwriting and the pharmacist said a man fitting Jonas's description
picked it up. Abe asks if he still thinks he's innocent. Yeah he does. Abe says that doesn't change what he has to do -
they both know that.
Hospital: Kate closes the door after she enters Chloe's room. She utters 'Sorry, sleeping beauty - you can't
wake up. I didn't do all this just to have Daniel charged with attempted murder. You really do have to die.' She thinks
they've had enough of the antidote Dr. Dan came up with so she starts fingering the IV when Lexie walks in and asks
her what she's doing. Kate covers - she thought she saw a bubble in the IV. Lexie lectures that she should have called a
nurse - checks the IV and it's fine. Kate apologises - she's just feeling so helpless. Lexie asks her to leave so she can
examine Chloe. Kate asks her to tell her that there's at least something to hope for - Lexie tells her there's always hope.
Kate leaves the room muttering that Lexie apparently has a licence to be rude. Victor arrives - Philip called him and
told him Kate needed him. What's going on? Kate nonchalantly tells him that Chloe's in a coma and then asks for a
antacid - the hospital coffee is bilge. Victor asks if she wants to go over to the Java Cafe. Kate should probably stay
there because Chloe is in a coma. Victor shrugs - it couldn't have happened to a nicer girl. He gleefully asks if Kate is
sticking around because she doesn't want to miss the grand finale. Kate needs to be here when Lucas arrives - make it
look like she cares. Victor asks if Chloe was in an accident or something. Kate answers - or something. Victor feels
she isn't telling him the whole story. Kate protests - he's interrogating her. He's just trying to find out what happened.
Kate informs him that Chloe was on the set and collapsed. She ignores Victor's question asking her if they got that on
tape. It ruined her entire schedule - it was very upsetting - they had to call 911 and it was just drama, drama, drama.
Victor sarcastically remarks that he can see how shaken she was by it all. He comments - so she never woke up. Kate
says no and there's a chance she never will. Victor asks if there's anything they can do to help along those lines. Kate
urges him to keep quiet. Victor asks if this is some of her handiwork. Kate protests - why would he even ask that.
Victor points out that she hated Chloe, she hates that Chloe married her son and she hates that Chloe cheated on him -
bad things happen to people that she hates. She asks him why he doesn't go on the PA and announce that to the entire
hospital. He thinks everyone there is already thinking that. Kate says no - she's been very careful. Victor asks her how
she did it and why is she still alive? Kate just sighs loudly and approaches Nathan - she apologises that she doesn't
know his name. He tells her it's Dr. Horton. Kate exclaims - Nathan? He says and you're Kate Roberts - he looks at
Victor and surmises that he must be Mr. Kiriakis. Victor comments that he looks just like Melissa. Kate asks if there
are any updates on her daughter-in-law. Nathan says he was just at the lab following up on the tox screen. Victor
comments - she was poisoned? Nathan tells them that Dr. Jonas has come up with an antidote - they need to be sure it
will be effective with this type of poison. He'll give them an update when he has one. After Nathan goes into Chloe's
room Victor asks Kate if she gave Chloe a big red apple with arsenic in the center. Kate tells him to go home and leave
her alone. Victor isn't leaving now - they're just getting to the good part.
In Chloe's room Lexie tells Nathan that she's going to try a new medication - Dr. Jonas's antidote isn't working. Nathan
points out that it saved Chloe's life. Lexie says it may just have prolonged the inevitable. When Nathan asks her if she
thinks Dr. Jonas could have done this she tells him it's not their job to play cop - it's their job to save her life if it's not
too late. Kate tells Victor that apparently they think that Chloe was poisoned slowly over a period of time. Victor
comments that makes it seem intentional. Kate hates to say this but Chloe probably has a long list of enemies. Victor
scoffs - with Kate at the top of the list. Kate would put him at the top because he hates Chloe more than she does.
Victor knows he didn't poison her. Kate tells him he's jumping to conclusions. Victor thinks Lucas will too - he asks
where Lucas is. Kate tells him he was on a business trip and had to be called back. Victor says so he goes away and
Chloe ends up on death's door - he tells Kate she shouldn't worry about what he thinks - she should worry about what
Lucas will think. He loves that girl - he's not going to like it that she killed her. Kate - You don't think I have that
covered? After Victor suggests that Kate might like to go down to the chapel to pray for Chloe's hasty demise she tell
him to go home. Victor is enjoying their little chat and death watch. Kate tells him to leave before ... he jumps in -
before Lucas gets here? He surmises that Kate doesn't want him there to watch her performance as a distraught
mother-in-law when she tells Lucas - she's afraid that he'll make her laugh. Kate tells him it's not funny - Lucas is going
to be grief-stricken, heart-broken - temporarily but it's for the best. Victor tells her she's incorrigble - marvellous. Kate
reminds him that their conversation was private and personal. He tells her not to worry - he won't tell anyone what she
did to the soon to be departed Chloe. Victor is going to leave but stops - he realises he didn't ask her how she's going
to keep Lucas and the police from suspecting her? Kate tells him that no one knows she hates Chloe. She won't discuss
this any further except to make it perfectly clear that she didn't poison Chloe. Victor scoffs and calls her the queen of
the complex strategy always with an exit strategy. Victor's cell rings. It's Bo. He needs the name of good criminal
defence lawyer because they're about to arrest Jonas for attempted murder. Victor looks at Kate - what a surprise,
they're arresting Daniel for this.
Nathan brings new lab results in to Lexie. She looks them over - she might never come out of this. Victor is on the
phone with a lawyer ordering him to get down to the station and bail Daniel out. After he hangs up he asks Kate what
her Plan B is. How does she get out of this mess without blaming Daniel. He's family - he doesn't give a damn what she
does to Chloe but she's not going to pin this on Daniel. Kate sneers - don't be absurd. She tells him to go ahead and tell
Bo about your fantasy that she's involved in this. He won't believe you. Victor - No, but Lucas will. Kate tells Victor
not to threaten her. Victor repeats that she is not doing this to his godson. He's tells Kate she has a lot of work to do in
a very short time. Kate tells him there is overwhelming evidence against him. Victor says - thanks to you. Kate tells him
to think about what Daniel's done to him and to Lucas. Victor's been thinking about what she's done and for once he
thinks she's gone to far. Lucas comes rushing in - what's going on? Victor - Well Kate, are you going to tell him or
Sami's place - Part 2: Rafe shuts off the TV when Sami comes in. She asks if the twins went to sleep okay.
They did - he asks if she got Allie's paint smock. She didn't - it wasn't there after all. He comments - but you had a
good visit. Sami - we always do. Rafe tells her that it seemed she was gone for a long time. Sami asks if he's working
on his interrogation techniques. He's sorry - it's just seemed like she was gone a long time. She went to Lucas's house
but no one was home. She asks if he had some time to himself after the kids went to sleep. He didn't - her father
stopped by and they had an interesting conversation. Sami asks why her Dad was there. Rafe tells her that he said he
had called her earlier - he just wanted to make sure she was alright. Sami says he's always worried about her - she's
going to check on the twins. Rafe asks her why she's lying to him.
Preview: Bo to Abe - I care about finding out who poisoned Chloe and it sure as hell wasn't the Doc. Daniel
to Hope - You watch her. You watch Kate very carefully and you can prove that it was her. Sami to Rafe - Come on
just tell me what happened - all of it!
Wednesday Jul 29
Police station - Part 1: Based on the second fingerprint test Abe tells Bo he has to make an arrest. Bo rebels -
even if I think he's innocent. Abe tells him the Attorney General is all over this - they know he has the second report -
what's he going to think if Bo doesn't move on factual evidence. Bo doesn't really care what he thinks - he cares about
finding out who poisoned Chloe and it sure as hell wasn't the doc. In the interrogation room Daniel urges Hope to
watch Kate and not let her hurt Chloe. Hope tells him Kate can't do anything now because if anything should happen to
Chloe now it would be proof he didn't do it and Kate's house of cards falls apart. Daniel - So you do believe me?
Hope didn't say that. Daniel says that Kate is going to have to try something because if Chloe wakes up she'll back up
everything he's said. He tells Hope to watch Kate very closely and then she can prove it was her and the nightmare
would be over. Abe gets a call from Lexie who tells him Chloe appears to be slipping into a deeper coma - now she
has to tell Lucas about Chloe's condition. Abe asks if Lucas seemed surprised. She tells him that he was devastated
and then adds that she's not going to spy on her patient's husband for him. She tells him she'll call him later. Bo asks
Abe if Lucas is back. Abe tells him he just got there. Bo tells Abe he wouldn't be doing his job by arresting Jonas
without exploring all the possibilities. They need to question the victim's husband. Bo knocks on the door to the
interrogation room and tells Hope he needs to talk to her. Daniel wants to know if they've heard anything from the
hospital. Bo tells him that Lexie called - the lab reports are not good - she seems to be slipping further into a coma.
Daniel is devastated.
Hospital - Part 1: Kate hugs Lucas saying she's so sorry. Lucas asks if her cancer has come back. Kate says
no - it's Chloe. Lucas wants to know where Chloe is but Kate wants to explain something first. Lucas just wants to
know where his wife is so Victor points to the room she's in telling him Lexie is in with her. Kate tries to stop Lucas
from going in but Victor stops her - it will give them some time to figure out how the hell she's going to get out of this
one. Lucas asks Lexie if Chloe is going to be alright - she tells him they don't know. Lucas wants to know what the hell
happened to her. Lucas comes out of the room and tells Kate and Victor everything that Lexie told him. Chloe is in a
coma - someone tried to kill her - someone tried to poison her and it was the food on the set. That means it was
someone they knew and trusted that did this - who the hell would do something like this. Philip walks up - Daniel Jonas.
He just heard on the news - they pulled him in for questioning - they said they had a substantial amount of evidence
against him. Lucas has a hard time believing this. Kate tells Lucas that maybe Daniel is sick in a way they don't
understand. Victor argues that there's nothing proving Daniel had anything to do with this. It's a little too early to get into
the why's - it's his strong feeling that Daniel will be completely exonerated - in fact he's almost certain of it. Lucas can't
believe they're standing out here trying to figure out who tried to kill Chloe while she's in that room dying - he's going to
be with her. Kate will go with him. Lucas says no - with all the bad things she's said about Chloe he doesn't want her
anywhere near Chloe - the same goes for Victor. Philip goes into the room with Lucas - he'll keep them away. Victor
tells Kate that by the way Lucas reacted just now he thinks he'd believe anything he told him him about her. Philip
comes out wondering why Daniel would have done this. At Chloe's bedside Lucas apologises for not being there and
pleads with her to wake up. He promises to never leave her again. Lexie comes in and Lucas asks her when Chloe is
going to wake up. Lexie informs him that she's not sure she's going to.
Victor taunts Kate - Lucas doesn't want her anywhere near comatose Chloe. He doesn't think Lucas will take the news
of Kate being the one to put in her that coma very well. He thinks when Lucas hears this it's going to have a sickening
ring of truth to it. Kate disagrees - not when Daniel is convicted; not when he finds out what Daniel and Chloe did.
Victor told her he's not going to let that happen. Kate shrugs - maybe he won't be able to stop it. Victor says maybe I'll
tell Bo that you confided in me - gave me all the details of the crime. Kate protests - than you would be lying. Victor
scoffs - you poisoned someone and plant evidence to blame somebody else and I'm not supposed to lie? Kate, you do
whatever you have to to get what you want, well so do I and I want Daniel free. Kate turns on the tears - why should
he go free after what he did to her son. Victor thinks it's hypocritical of her to be outraged about infidelity. He didn't
believe the tears when she cried for Chloe but he believes these because they're for her - she knows he's got her
coming and going. Philip comes up and offers to take Kate home. When she says no he asks if she wants him to get
Victor out of there. Victor assures Philip that Kate doesn't want him anywhere out of her sight. Philip wants to know
what is going on with the two of them. Victor tells him they're arguing about Daniel - he thinks it's ridiculous to think he
had anything to do with it. Philip kind of agrees - after all he saved their lives. Kate blurts out that Daniel had an affair
with Chloe. He tried to murder his mistress because she rejected him and married another man.
Sami's place: Rafe wants to know why Sami is lying to him. Ever since she got back he's given her every
opportunity to tell him the truth but she flat-out lied. She told him when her father called it was a wrong number; that she
was going to see her Grandmother and she didn't. He thought they agreed to be honest with each other - what's going
on? Sami goes on the defensive citing interrogations and lack of trust. Rafe - Why don't you just tell me what your were
doing. Sami - Because it's none of your business. Some things are private and personal. Rafe couldn't agree more so he
just has one question - was she snooping around in his past? Because if she was he thinks that would be his business.
Sami has a real easy way to end this stupid agrument - tell her about his past. She's frustrated because everything that
happened to him before they met is off limits to her. Rafe says it's not true. Sami argues reminding him of how she met
his sister - who has a sister and doesn't talk about her? Rafe doesn't see what difference it makes. It makes a difference
to her because it makes her feel like there is something about his past that he doesn't want her to know. Rafe tells her it
hurts. Sami asks if he thinks that telling him about EJ and Lucas and how that all happened was a walk in the park for
her. Rafe reminds her it was her choice to tell him. Sami says yes she chose to tell him and now when he tells her he
loves her she knows that he loves her in spite of all that - she knows that he loves her anyway and she wants to give
that to him. She urges him to trust her and tell her who he is so she can love him anyway. Rafe says then if you don't
you just have your father, the detective, find out. She just wants to know the truth - just talk to her and they won't have
to worry about this. Rafe - And if I don't? Sami - Then we can't move forward, can. Come on, just tell me what
happened - all of it!
Rafe doesn't think she should be giving ultimatums when she's the one going behind his back and digging into his past. It
isn't an ultimatum - she's asking. Then he's saying no. She asks if it's really that painful - is he afraid it's going to change
the way she feels about him. Rafe - Maybe. Sami understands - it's a risk so she'll go first. She'll tell him everything
about her and then it's his turn. Sami tells him about changing the paternity test results on Belle when she found out Belle
was John's baby because she didn't want her Dad finding out that her mom and John had an affair - she talks about
kidnapping Belle as well. She tells him about Alan raping her and that she shot him in revenge - she shot him in the
worst place possible for a man but he'll never rape another woman. She talks about being on death row and how
horrible it was to say goodbye to her son - nobody would believe her but she didn't kill Franco. She goes on to tell him
about her time as Stan and going to the Middle East. Then about Lucas telling her to move on and she ended up with
EJ. She stayed married so he could get his green card - then they got an annulment and he ended up with Nicole. It
doesn't matter because it's over and now she's with him. That's her life in a nutshell - now it's his turn. Rafe says as
enlightening as that was he's not sure it changes anything. She chose to tell him all that. He didn't bribe her or blackmail
her - in fact he didn't even ask her. Sami wants to know who he is. He says she does. She asks him how many brothers
or sisters does he have - is that top secret information. He doesn't like being coerced. Sami groans - EJ was right - it's
like she's living with a total stranger. Rafe will tell her something about him - he doesn't like to be manipulated. That's all
tonight has been so she can grill him about Emily. Sami just wants him to tell her the truth. Rafe protests she wants him
to tell her knowing that he doesn't want to talk about it because it's personal and private. Sami says maybe it's because
you have something to hide - because you don't trust me enough to love you even if there's something terrible in your
past. Rafe will tell her everything - he will tell her the truth. On the day that he and Emily were going to be married there
was a car crash. He was driving way too fast and he wrapped the car around the tree - Emily was with him. He killed
her. Sami says it was an accident. Rafe doesn't want her making excuses for him - don't drag it out of him and then
dismiss it. He loved her and her family loved her and he killed her. He took her away from them and they hate him for it
and to be honest he can't argue with them about that. Now she knows - are you happy now. He leaves. Sami tries to
stop him but doesn't succeed. She says I'm so sorry.
Police station - Part 2: Bo brings in some coffee and tells Daniel anything they say is off the record. Daniel
asks if the interrogation is over. Temporarily - he sent Hope to chase a lead. Daniel hopes it was to question Kate
because she did this. Bo says what he knows is that only Daniel's prints were on the bottle. Daniel sarcastically
responds - Yes, super criminal that I am I wiped the pharmacist's prints off the bottle after he handed it to me leaving
only mine behind. Bo continues - you wrote the prescription for the poison used on Chloe. Daniel continues using
sarcasm - Yeah, got to leave that paper trail. As a senior attending it was the only possible way I could get my hands
on the drug. Bo tells Daniel he's pretty good at fouling off his pitches - been thinking of covering your tracks for a while.
Daniel is thinking that if Bo really thought he had done it he would have arrested him. He doesn't think either he or
Hope will ever let him see it but they are listening to him very carefully. Bo tells him he's preparing a line-up with that
pharmacist that gave out the prescription. Daniel is upset - Chloe is dying and he's in here blaming games with Bo. Bo -
You think this is a game? Daniel thinks it's a puppet show and Kate Roberts is pulling the strings. Bo tells him that
Victor is sending a lawyer - he'll postpone the lineup until he gets here. Daniel takes that to mean that Bo believes him.
Bo - That and a buck will get you a bus ride.
Hospital - Part 2: Lexie wishes she had better news. Lucas asks if he can stay a little longer and if Chloe can
hear him. Lexie feels that if Chloe can hear anyone it would be him. She leaves. Lucas tells Chloe this isn't how the
story ends - she's going to get better - he swears to God she is. Lucas rests his head in his hands - Chloe's hand moves.
Philip asks Kate if Lucas knows. Kate says no and cautions him not to say anything. Philip thinks Lucas will find out if
that is the reason Daniel tried to kill Chloe. Kate says but not tonight - he's been through enough. Philip thought his life
was a mess - he goes into Chloe's room. Victor tells Kate that her concern for Lucas is very touching but a little bit
scary. Kate asks if they have a deal - you keep your mouth shut and we'll talk about it privately. Victor said he wouldn't
say anything to Lucas about Daniel and Chloe, he didn't say I wouldn't talk to my daugher-in-law (Hope has arrived).
He walks over - Hope, I have something to tell you. It's about Daniel - he's absolutely sure he had nothing to do with
what happened to Chloe. Hope asks if he has proof of that. Kate says no - he doesn't know anything. Victor knows
that Daniel is a wonderful young man and he wouldn't hurt a fly. Hope says he can be a character witness at his trial -
right now they're only interested in concrete evidence. Victor asks why she's here. She's here to talk to Lucas. Kate
says no - Lucas just found out about Chloe - he doesn't know about Chloe and Daniel. He's very fragile right now.
Hope asks if she's very sure that's the only reason she doesn't want her talking to Chloe. Kate snaps - what's that
supposed to mean. Victor jumps in - he thinks they should go out and get some air. He tells Hope that Kate is under a
lot of stress. As they walk away Hope comments - That was very interesting. Kate doesn't want me to talk to Lucas
and Victor doesn't want me to talk to Kate.
Park: Victor tells Kate that he's trying to protect her - she shouldn't be talking to Hope when she's like this.
He doesn't care what she did to Chloe but he thought he made it abundantly clear that she's not going to pin this on
Daniel. He's giving her an opportunity to get out of this without sending Daniel to prison. She's a dodged a bullet but
she's not out of the woods. Fix this - get Daniel out of it or you're facing prison or worse.
Hospital - Part 3: Lucas tells Chloe that he left a message for her mom and dad. Hope comes in as he's talking
to Chloe. Lucas thanks Hope for coming. Hope tells him that she's here professionally - she needs for him to prove to
her that he was out of the country when Chloe got sick. Lucas - you think that I did this? He would never hurt Chloe.
Hope - Not without provacation - were they having any problems? Lucas tells her they haven't been married long
enough to have problems. Hope recalls Kate telling her that Lucas doesn't know about Chloe and Daniel so she
apologises and tells Lucas this is strictly procedure - she has to ask certain questions. Lucas knows she does. He'll give
her his boarding pass - that will prove he left before Chloe got sick. Hope has one more question - was he ever in
Daniel's apartment. He was - he and Chloe were there to pick up a suit for Daniel for the show. Hope tells him they
found evidence in his apartment. Lucas recalls Chloe finding a woman's scarf and tells Hope about it. They thought it
belonged to someone else other than his mother. They had been seeing each other - he guesses Dan didn't want her to
know that he had moved on. He asks if Dan is a suspect because that doesn't make any sense to him. Hope says at
present they're just questioning him. Lucas doesn't want to talk about this anymore. He understands Hope is just doing
her job when she apologises again - he tells her to find out who did this. Kate returns - Hope tells her that she didn't say
anything about Daniel and Chloe. She cautions Kate that she can't keep Lucas in the dark forever - he's going to find
out - she might think about what the best way would be for that to happen. Hope adds - But I didn't need to say that,
did I? We both know you'd do anything for Lucas. Hope leaves and Philip returns. Kate needs to ask him to do
something and it's not going to be easy. Apparently Kate asks him to tell Lucas about the affair - she thinks it would be
better coming from his brother rather than his mother. Philip - like who he hears it from is going to make any difference.
Lucas overhears this and asks them what they're talking about. Kate is going to leave him and Philip alone but Lucas
wants to hear this from the both of them. Philip tells him it's bad. It's about Chloe - not her condition ... she ... he can't
get the words out so Kate spits out - she betrayed you. Philip tells him that she had an affair with Daniel. Lucas realises
they're serious - that they're telling him the truth. He goes into Chloe's room - how could you?
Police station - Part 3: Abe tells Bo that things didn't go well for them at the line-up. The pharmacist thought it
could be Daniel but he wouldn't swear to it. Bo - Maybe because he didn't do it. Abe informs him that it didn't change
the DA's mind after a call from the Attorney General he's ready to press charges. Bo says there's no rush - Daniel isn't
a flight risk. Abe tells him it's the DA's call not his - book Daniel Jonas as soon as he's back from the line-up. Just then
Daniel returns - asking if he's free to go back to the hospital. Bo tells Daniel he's under arrest for attempted murder - his
attorney can accompany him to booking. After Daniel is led away Bo tells Abe they just made a big mistake. Hope and
Bo are inside his office - Hope tells Bo that Lucas seemed completely clueless. Bo - He's been for quite some time.
Hope tells him that Lucas and Chloe went to Daniel's apartment and found a woman's scarf. She thinks it was probably
Chloe's but Lucas thinks it was another woman's and that Daniel was seeing someone and trying to keep that from
Kate. Bo comments that he was seeing someone and he wouldn't be in jail now if he had kept it from Kate. He knows
that he shouldn't jump to conclusions but it pans out a hell of a lot better than the doc doing it. Hope - you booked him
right? He got orders from on high - he asks Hope to go down and oversee the booking. She asks if Daniel has council.
Bo tells her that Victor sent his criminal attorney. Hope opens the door and Victor is there - she leaves. Victor asks if
it's true that he's booking Daniel - he didn't do it. Bo says he'll have his time in court to prove that. Victor doesn't think
it will get that far. He asks if he knows when the arraignment is. Bo tells him it's the DA's call. Victor surmises it will be
in the morning when the DA can get the most media mileage out of it. Bo has something to ask him - does he know
anything about this crime. Victor knows Daniel didn't do it. Bo asks if knows who did. Victor has no idea at all.
Downstairs Hope watches as Daniel is booked and then follows as he's lead into a holding cell.
Preview: Arianna to Brady - What's really going on Brady? Why are you so upset? Kinsey to Mia - I'm so
glad you're here. Mia - No you're not. Stefano to Nicole - How the hell is she going to get proof? Nicole - You know
damn well how. Stefano - How? Nicole - Rafe. Rafe to Sami (they're at the cemetery) - Sami, you shouldn't have
Thursday Jul 30
Hospital - Part 1: Maxine tells Brady that Chloe can't have visitors yet. There's been no change. Brady says
she's young and strong - she's going to come out of the coma eventually, right? Maxine answers 'Possibly, not for a long
time though from what she's been told and maybe never.' She tells Brady to think good thoughts.
Brady Pub: Sami rushes into the pub and asks Arianna if she knows where her brother is - she needs to talk
to him. Ari asks her what she's done to him. Sami is in no mood to be interrogated by her. She's been up all night with
her children and this is her first chance to go after him. Ari asks if something happened to him - has he been hurt. Sami
answers not physically. Arianna surmises Sami hurt him some other way or he would have been with her last night. She
rants that she practically begged Rafe to not get involved with her but he wouldn't listen. He felt something for her that
he hasn't felt since ... she stops. Sami mutters 'of course' and takes off.
Cemetery: Rafe makes his way over to Emily's grave and places a single white rose on the grave marker. He
thought he could move on; maybe he never can; maybe he doesn't deserve to not after everything that has happened.
Sami rushes up to Rafe - she tells him she is so sorry about last night - she goes to hug him but he doesn't let her. He
tells her she shouldn't have come there. Sami admits that when she was going on and on about them being honest she
was being a total hypocrite. She should have told him from the beginning about her concerns about Emily. Rafe tells her
this isn't about her. Sami knows - it's about him. She couldn't stand seeing him so tortured about Emily's death. It was
an accident. Rafe tells her she doesn't know the whole story. She doesn't have to know - she's done some horrible
things not by accident. She hates that he's judging himself - it was a mistake. She understands why he didn't tell her
before last night and she doesn't judge him for what happened - not at all. Rafe - You mean that? Of course she does -
she loves him so much - no matter what happens. They hug. She hates seeing him torture himself over something that
wasn't his fault. Rafe comments that maybe this was meant to be - this could be good for them - maybe they can
understand each other better. Sami - Maybe it was fate that I ran into her. Rafe ask's who. Emily's sister - Meredith.
Rafe says that's impossible - Meredith moved to Florida years ago. Sami says she told her that but she's here visiting.
Rafe asks how they met. Sami tells him they met in the woods when she was setting up for their picnic. She told her
what that place meant - she should have told him right away but when he didn't say anything about where they were ...
Rafe can't believe she's back. Sami repeats that she should have told him right away but she didn't - she went to her
Dad. He found out she was staying at the Salem Inn. She went to track her down - she knows what she said but she's
obviously not thinking clearly. Now she ... Rafe starts walking away - he tells her to go back to the house.
Park Nicole paces until Mia arrives - she lets her know that she's been worried sick about her ex-boyfriend.
Mia tells her that whatever she said to him worked. He buys her rehab story now - now he'll never find out she was
pregnant with Sydney. Nicole asks if she's sure that he doesn't doubt that she was in rehab anymore. Mia is positive.
She asks if EJ suspects anything. Nicole answers - he better not. She tells Mia that her husband and daughter are her
whole world - they're all she has and she won't lose them - no matter what she'll make sure of that.
Ari is leaving a message for Rafe when some guy comes along and knocks the phone out of hand saying 'hey,
hotcakes'. Brady charges to the rescue and starts pummeling the guy. Finally Ari gets Brady off the guy - the guy takes
off. Ari tells him to relax - the guy was just hitting on her - she can take care of herself. Brady rants - Sometimes people
can't - they get blindsided and they just can't take care of themselves. He insists she needed help and when she needs
help he's going to be there for her - is that okay with her? She asks him what's really going on here. Brady doesn't
know how she feels about him but he's not going to lie to her - he cares about her a lot. After yesterday he can make
her one promise - no one that he cares about is EVER going to get hurt again. She asks him to tell her what's going on.
He tells her that his ex-wife is very sick - she was taken to the hospital yesterday. He doesn't love her anymore like that
- he will always care for her. He thinks he should have been able to do things differently. She asks if he thinks he could
have stopped her from getting sick. He doesn't think so - he thinks he could have more observant and she wouldn't be
in the place she is now. She doesn't understand. He tells her she doesn't have to. He's sorry - maybe he did jump to
conclusions with that jerk but he's not going to apologise for it. He's come to realise that if he over-reacts that's better
than not reacting at all. He knows she doesn't want to hear him talking about how he feels about her so he's going to go.
She stops him. She happens to think he's an amazing person - he's wonderful. He asks her what that means exactly.
She asks - can't I just tell how you I feel about you without it being a big deal. He says heck - you can kiss me and it
doesn't have to be a big deal. Sort of like you did before because he knows she didn't feel anything. She says of course
she felt something. He says - you're still afraid - you can't let go. She made a promise to herself ... Brady jumps in - that
you wouldn't get involved with someone like me - a recovering addict. He doesn't blame her. She has every reason in
the world to worry but he can tell her something right now - he's not going to slip up. He's not going to let that happen -
he can't. If she'd give him the opportunity he'd prove that to her. She's not sure. He is - he kisses her and she kisses him
back. After the long kiss Brady asks her to come out to dinner with him when things are less crazy - he needs her to
judge for herself if he's good for date number 2. He's going to need an answer right now. She tells him she'll go out with
him. She needs to go - Brady leaves. The guy that Brady beat up comes back and addresses Arianna by name. She
tells him to not ever do that again. He comments that she sure is edgy these days. She hands him an envelope. He asks
if that's all of it. She answers - every last dollar. He hands her a small plastic bag which she puts into her purse.
Gym: Chad works out and recalls making out with Mia. Will enters - Chad notices. Kinsey approaches Chad
and after some small talk she asks who he's staring at. He says no one. Kinsey knows he's bummed because Will is
there - Will has something he wants - Mia. Chad knows why she's so interested in the whole Mia thing - she's got a
thing for Will Horton. He asks if she doesn't see the golden opportunity here. He'd bet his life on Will and Mia not
lasting - now's her chance to do damage control and lay the groundwork for her future with Will. She denies interest at
first but then she says it would be kind of good to piss Mia off so she hones in on Will. She wants to talk - she wants to
apologise for being such a total bitch. Chad watches as Kinsey flirts. Mia comes in - Chad rushes to her side - it must
be fate. He apologises for not believing her about her stint in rehab - he was an insensitive jerk. She says he wasn't - he
just has trust issues. Mia tells him she's here to meet Will. Kinsey tells Will that the way she's been acting isn't cool -
she's jealous of Mia - always has been - that's what makes her do and say stupid things. Will thinks she should be
apologising to Mia. She will. Chad points out that Will is with Kinsey. Mia comes over. Kinsey tells Mia she's so glad
she's here. Mia - No you're not. Kinsey tells Mia they should have a private talk sometimes to work things out. Mia
makes a sarcastic remark so Kinsey leaves them alone. Mia tells Will she saw him being all friendly with Kinsey. Will
tells her she was just trying to be nice - maybe she isn't as bad as they thought. He asks if they can just forget about
Kinsey for now. Mia suggests forever. Chad asks Kinsey how it went. It went well - she planted a little seed with Will -
are you going to do the same with Mia? A worker comes up to Will - he has an important message for him. He tells
Mia that something is going on with his Dad and his wife - he has to go. Mia offers to go with him. He tells her he'll go
and find out what it is and call her - he leaves. Chad moves in on Mia - she tells him she's going. He has some news -
he's really excited about it and he hopes she will be too. His parents are pleased with him so they're not sending him
back to boarding school so he'll be going to school in Salem. He also tells her they moved about 4 months ago so he'll
be going to school with her at Salem High.
DiMera mansion - Part 1: EJ picks up Sydney and says something is very wrong. In the foyer Stefano is on
the phone - 'he looks forward to it.' Nicole returns home and after asking about Sydney she asks about him - he looks
upset. He tells her he's just feeling overwhelmed. He tells her that she and Sydney are the most important things in the
world to him. He wants to make sure they don't go away. Nicole asks him why they would go away. He tells her it was
no more than not wanting someone that is precious to you going away. Nicole says it's not like him to worry for no
reason - tell her what it is. Stefano comes and asks Elvis if he has time to talk business now. Nicole protests - they're in
the middle of a conversation but gets no where with either of them. EJ goes upstairs to get some papers. Nicole tells
Stefano something is horribly wrong. She doesn't know what but it's not good - she has a feeling something awful is
going to happen. Stefano's sarcastic wit is really sharpened today as he has comeback after comeback for Nicole.
Because she was so jumpy last night EJ picked up on it - she tried her best to cover but even this morning when she
woke up she sensed there was something wrong with her and EJ. Something big is bothering EJ and it has to do with
their family. EJ is suspicious and it's only a matter of time before the cat claws it's way out of the bag and if Sami walks
through that door with proof ... Stefano tells her she's getting hysterical - how the hell is she going to get proof. Nicole
spits out - Rafe. Nicole is gone - Stefano is in the living room alone - EJ returns talking business. Stefano asks him
what's going on between him and Nicole. EJ says nothing is going on - Stefano doesn't believe him - EJ keeps saying
nothing. Stefano finally says Stop - no more baloney. Just tell me what is wrong. EJ - I love my wife and I love my
daughter. Last night I had to admit to myself that I love Nicole but I just can not get Samantha out of my mind. He had
a dream last night - normally he's dismissive of dreams but this one - he can't seem to shake it. Stefano says even now
the feelings that he had for Samantha are not healthy. She had a perverse hold on him so how can he fixate on a dream?
You love Nicole now and your beautiful daughter - prove it to them and yourself. If you don't do this you're not going
to have what you want -you're going to be lost. You won't have the things that you cherish.
Salem Inn: Meredith opens the door to Rafe - he walks in - it's been a long time. Meredith - Since you killed
my sister, you mean? He didn't expect for her to be anything less than truthful. He understands how she feels. Meredith
disagrees and tells him he never will know. He says it was an accident, a horrible accident - he blames himself for it
every single day. Meredith thought it was an accident at first. She felt bad for him for how guilty he felt. She was
devastated, her family but no one more than him. Now she knows it was all an act. Rafe - An act? Your sister was my
life. I loved her. Meredith - To death. Rafe knows she can't change her mind - that she'll always feel this way about
him. She asks why he's there - how did he find her. She figures out that Samantha told him ... is he involved with her.
He is. Meredith - Just as you're starting to get your life back together your past comes back to haunt you. Poor Rafe -
such terrible timing. She taunts him - is this new girl the one - is he head over heels? Rafe feels that coming here was a
mistake. All he has done is cause her more pain. Whatever her reason for coming back here - whatever the
circumstances under which she met Sami - it doesn't matter. He's fallen in love again - he's moving on with his life. He
tells her he would have done anything to trade places with Emily but obviously he couldn't but he's not going to feel
guilty for falling in love again. Meredith tells him to move on all he likes but the world is going to find out what really
happened in that wedding accident and that includes Samantha Brady. Rafe leaves. Meredith has someone else in her
room now - she wants to thank him for arranging her return to Salem. Stefano smiles - it was his pleasure.
Waterfront: Sami runs into Nicole and Sydney. Nicole can tell that something is wrong. Sami tells her it's Rafe
- they broke up or something. They're not together anymore. It was a misunderstanding and she thought they had
worked it out. She thought everything was going to be okay but then he ran out like he didn't want to be in the same
place as her. Nicole is sorry - she tells Sami it will work out. Sami can't talk about this - she leaves. Nicole wonders if
Stefano made this happen.
DiMera mansion - Part 2: Nicole rushes back inside calling out for Stefano. EJ tells her that he sent him away
because he has some bad news for her. Nicole is shocked - A coma - but I just talked to her a few days ago and she
was fine. EJ tells her she's not doing good - he didn't want her to hear this from a stranger. Nicole wonders how this
happened. EJ tells her no one knows yet. Nicole won't let herself fall apart - she's going to stay strong for Chloe. EJ
tells her she can be upset - Chloe is a close friend of hers. She can lean on him. He knows he hasn't been giving her the
attention he should have been lately - he had a lot on his mind. But he's 100% family focused now - he's always here
Hospital - Part 2: Brady returns and asks Maxine if he can see Chloe now. Not yet. Will asks - What's going
on with her? Is Chloe okay?
Sami's place: Sami is pacing, close to tears when Rafe returns. She didn't think he'd come back. Of course he
did - he loves her. Sami - Me too. Rafe tells her nothing is ever going to change that.
Preview: Kate to Will - Chloe was in love with Daniel. Will - Are you saying she tricked me? Lucas to Daniel
- You slept with my wife and then you tried to kill her. Meredith to Stefano - Rafe killed my sister because of what she
found out about him. Sami to Rafe - You could have stopped her from dying? Rafe - Yes.
