      Finally a productive post...

The Gold/Silver Player debate is a good one, and is one that we see at SIUE this season. It's a good problem for us to have, as going into this season, we only had 3 players leave the Gold team, and had about 15 players overall join the club this year.

Only 8 games into the year we have had 4 players who started off on the Silver Roster make it into a Gold game (Goaltender David Borre, Forwards Alex Edwards, Brandon Janczak, and Nick Costillo), either to fill in because of injury or because they deserved a shot. Edwards has capitalized on his opportunity, as he has 6 pts (2 G, 4 A) in 4 games, and will probably finish his first year at Gold.

With the amount of talent currently playing on our Silver team, and the addition of John Wright on D coming 2nd semester, it creates a bit of competition with our 3-4 lines at Gold and our defensive core.
Because of this group of Silver players are capable of taking those spots for the first time in a long time.

This is the first year that I can say that we have had 2 solid teams capable of going a long way this season.

This forum has been created with the purpose to constructively discuss college club hockey. We encourage you to freely discuss any topic you wish, with the caveat that you keep the discourse within the bounds of good taste. While good natured trash-talking is fun, thought provoking and acceptable, any replies that turn personal, disrespectful and/or disruptive of the intent of this forum will be deleted by the moderators of this forum. Our intent is to build up and promote college club hockey and its teams. We need to work together and support each other to make this happen. We already have enough critics of club hockey. Let's do our best to keep things amiable on this forum, as not to give them any ammunition. Best of luck to ALL teams! Regards, Jpower79
