I would agree that D2 Club hockey isn't probably the best hockey around, like whoever else stated above. I think it is important to remember that most, well at least some of the top priorities of some of the players is academic. I like this quote:
"It is a let down to junior a program if one of our guys plays d2 club."
It is a let down to go to college? To pursue a career? Sorry to burst your bubble, but no one here is going to the NHL or make a sensible career from playing hockey. There is such a large margin. I guess what I am trying to say is that I think it is ridiculous to criticize the level of play that is in each one of the tiers of hockey. Kind of goes along the logic that no matter how much money you make, there is always going to be someone around the corner, making just a little more. So don't be so quick to call a league "a joke" when someone else could easily call your league "a gongshow."
I play D2 Club hockey and I am fine with it. It is at Mckendree too. Just to throw that out there because apparently everyone hates us . It is fun to play hockey while I finish school. Could have I played a higher level? Maybe. Who knows? Be happy with what you play, where you play, because when people have to put down other leagues, it only seems like they are the one uncomfortable with what and where they play. |
