Missouri State beats Bradley 8-1, after taking a 5-0 lead in the 1st period. They outshot the Braves 41-20.. Game got sloppy at the end, with the Bears taking a number of penalties.

For starters...Who are you to call out our coach and not have the stones to put your name behind it?
Northwestern begged to play us at the scheduling meeting, so we set it up for this weekend. They then proceeded to show up with 10 players and 3 goalies on Friday night. Whether or not your a good team is beside the point, when you come to a team's rink who you "had" to play you show up prepared. This was a shot in the face to us, as we could have scheduled anyone else for this weekend, giving us a much stronger schedule.
Don't even come on here complaining about us "running up the score". This is college hockey, the level that we play at is debatable, sure, but it's college hockey nonetheless. The game ends when the final buzzer sounds, not when the opposing team thinks you lead is too big. A team has no one to blame but themselves. When we played Indiana and lost 15-1, we weren't at all pissed at IU for "running up the score", we didn't want them to let up. In the locker room we focused on the mistakes WE made. The main mistake in both games was that Becker and I couldn't keep a frisbee out of the net had we both been between the pipes. We paid for it in the following practices to make sure something like that doesn't happen again. We wouldn't go to an opposing teams rink and whine about how big of a lead they have and tell them to stop playing, as we want everything they have, and I'm sure they want everything we've got. On Saturdays game, our 3rd line combined for 11 pts, so its not like we were double shifting Walker, Kaiser and Jones. If we would have, find a way to stop them. We dont play by Marquis of Queensbury rules. If your feelings get hurt, tough sh**. Hold yourself accountable, learn from your mistakes and move on.
For someone to even complain about our coach when after seeing the actions of the Northwestern Coach is borderline insane. After being down a 9 spot in the 1st period, he yelled complaining about having a scrape between periods. In the 3rd period, he lost control. While down 15-2, he wanted to have a running clock(Who makes the trip and doesn't want to play a full 60 Minutes?). When he didn't get his way, he instructed his players to injure our players and was thrown out because of it. Here's where I give full marks to the Northwestern players. Generally, the attitude and discipline of a team is reflective upon the coach who instills that in his team. They could have followed through with his demands, but they finished off the game with the class their coach lacked.
I'm not one to speak for Coach Thatcher, nor am i going to pretend to know what he thinks. But does he really need to do anymore to make him "appear" to be a great coach...

It was 20-3 not 20-2 and the Cougars stopped running power play lines and just rolled all players in the 1st period. 11 different players scored, including one sophomore defenseman that scored his first collegiate goal ever. The series wasn't much fun for the Cougars or their fans.
It's tough when the other team quits playing. Perhaps Larry should have sent skate guards out the last two periods and just made it an open skate.

I understand why you are upset at the comments made but in reference to the coach ordering players to injure SIUE players and then getting ejected from the game for that. I would ask why no incident report was filled by Larry? This is the type of behavior we are trying to acvoid if it is in fact true.
To all Annon. voices on this board,
We as a league need to focus on growth and professionalism. With the constant child like behavior on this board weather it be from players or coaches we as a league look bad to the outside world. I am asking that as we enter the last couple weeks of the season let us all focus on the real reason we are all here and that is to help the MACHA grow and compete with the likes of GLIHA and other top D-2 leagues in the coutry. If there is a legit complaint or claim all team reps know how to fill out an incident report and submit it. If they dont have them contact me.

Cameron, You know that at the time of your post an incident report couldn't have been filed by Larry due to the 24 hour cooling off period. Also, not sure where this large worldwide audience would find this message board since there is no reference for it anywhere on our league website and it has no official association with the league. Even if they weren't anonymous people could use fake names. Anonymous or not, J can always delete what shouldnt be here if needed and also can trace where posts come from if needed as well.
As far as SIU-E running up the score. No one here knows what they would do if they were in the exact situation that SIU-E was in. You can speculate and assume but you just don't know unless it happens. If something was done to make the team mad, then they would run up the score. If it was so uneven that the outcome was that way, that can happen. You can tell your players to pass the puck more but you can't tell them to stop trying. If you get off of your game plan by too much it can hurt you more than help you. I have seen it happen. It can hurt you in the long run. I feel bad for a team that losses that bad, it sucks, but it happens.
Typical Larry, typical SIU-E. Well folks, last time I checked they hadn't lost to anyone in the MACHA this year. So everyone can get on their case but if you are a part of this league, realize you are doing this with a league total of 0, that's right 0 wins against them. Quit complaining. Deal with it.

Everybody can complain all they want about SIU-E.I watched them play this year twice.I'm not a fan of Larry and not a fan of his team, but he did a good job of recruiting. The Cougars don't have a week spot on the team.Their 4th line could compete with any starting line in league.Good luck to the Cougars,it will be nice seeing a local team do well in the playoffs.

This forum has been created with the purpose to constructively discuss college club hockey. We encourage you to freely discuss any topic you wish, with the caveat that you keep the discourse within the bounds of good taste. While good natured trash-talking is fun, thought provoking and acceptable, any replies that turn personal, disrespectful and/or disruptive of the intent of this forum will be deleted by the moderators of this forum.
Our intent is to build up and promote college club hockey and its teams. We need to work together and support each other to make this happen. We already have enough critics of club hockey. Let's do our best to keep things amiable on this forum, as not to give them any ammunition.
Best of luck to ALL teams!
