Looks like a clear 1-9 10th spot seems to be up for grabs. |

By no means am I saying SIUE should be 1-8, but how do you play Colorado (#1 team in the west) close both games, play Indiana (#4 Southeast) close, and beat Denver (#4 in the West), and move down? Like I said I don't expect SIUE to be #1, but how do you get demoted with that kind of strength of schedule? Just a question. |

you gotta win more then one game out of those four. yea it is a tough schedule but you need victories |

Just comparing them to ISU. SIU-E should be higher. Not just based on this series but the overall picture. If Ferris games don't really count as stated earlier, I think this hurts their case even though they were losses. We will see in the next few weeks about ISU, they are playing some pretty ok teams the next two weeks. |

Playing it close got Ferris State in regionals last year. They won against a couple ranked teams, but were way below .500, and because of their high strength of schedule, got in.
As far as where our ranking is now, losing to teams that were (by rankings) supposed to handle us closely and beating one of them shouldnt have moved us down. MSU lost to an unranked team in a tight game, that can happen to anyone...Minnesota got smoked by unranked St. Thomas 7-0, tied unranked Kansas twice, and tied unranked Mich Tech and were voted more favorably this time around.
We have yet to lose to an unranked opponent, and won against 2 ranked (ISU and Denver). There's plenty of season left, as we play #8 Iowa, #1 GVSU, #4 Mo State, and a (#!?!) Ferris team who has beaten some top ranked opponents, but for some reason forfieted 15 games. Games against Mizzou, NIU and Eastern will be equally important for a shot at that 1st/2nd place bye in the conference tourney (which is going to be an extremely tight race btw).

ISU plays some pretty ok teams the next 2 weeks? Would you please state your idea of a GOOD team. Just for the record.
ISU will be lucky to go 1-3 finishing up this semester. If they go 2-2 by sweeping DePaul they deserve to move up. |

yes, mizzou did lose to mckendree in the first of thier two meetings in september and they won the second game by a large margin. They were exhibition games. Mizzou had 1 practice before those games. yes, only 1 and those games were used as part of thier tryouts. complete truth.
so, just because mizzou did split with mckendree that weekend... how does that make them a lower seed than KU? A team they swept and the scores were not very close? How does that make sense? It doesn't at all.
and i agree that siue is getting slighly hosed here too. if they play all teams that are supposed to beat them, and they play them close and beat one fo them... how do they move down?
I think its good for the league that these teams like iowa and ill state etc.... are beating the teams they have lost to in the past. without question, it is making the league more competitive but i can't say i agree with the 5-13 rankings at all.
how is ku ranked above mizzou? they lst both games to them. |

If SIUE and Mizzou play like they have in the past then they have nothing to worry about. Alot of hockey is left to play and the good teams will show that they are good and be ranked properly. Mizzou should know a little about this right? |

Why the crying about McKendree? You lost the first game, and the score in the second game was 4-3 when the coach pulled the starting goalie and put in a walk on.It was also McKendrees first game of the season ,but they had 2 practices before they played.Mizzou is a good team,McKendree showed they are just as good. |

a walk on? get real.
what does that matter? So, that first game was a ligit close win for you, but that loss the second game was close in your mind because you pulled your better goalie before the score got ran up? whatever, they did split, but like you said, it was so early in the season for both teams.

Isn't Michigan in the Eastern Time Zone? Let's move them to the Northeast Region and give more room to the midwestern (Central Teams). With Michigan schools taking up five slots, there is not enough room for all the good teams this year. Teams have to start strong, be strong, and finish strong. A team like Mizzou got off to a slow start and are climbing up hill. Same for Kansas. Like someone said, lots of hockey ahead. The best will emerge as we get to early February. No worries now, just win, that is all any team can do. |

McKendree just as good. I love the comic relief. |

Comic relief?
You know what the funniest part is?
The fact that Mckendree with only 2,000 students not only competes, but BEATS Mizzou. A school with over 20,000.
