Another game another loss, don't see a win in this teams future until mid Nov. when they play SIUE. Mizzou and MSU should take care of SLU the other two weeks in November.

More and more of these wins making the conference become quite strong this year. Congrats to KU, ISU, and Mo State for taking down some of the powerhouses in the ACHA.
Keep up the fine play!

Thanks Kich, for forgetting Mizzou who has beaten Illinois and Kentucky and pounded KU. How was the SIUE-RMC game? What's the plan to replace the other game and what happened with the refs?

I honestly couldnt tell you...im currently in Montana teaching a goalie clinic. From what I understand, SIUE had 10+ chances but couldnt bury them. I believe we out shot them something like 52-32 (if someone there could correct me that be great). So that being said, RMC goaltender must have kept them in the game.
It was their first game with 7 or 8 new players. Call it an excuse or what ya want, hopefully they can knock down the team chemistry by next weekend with a tough series against ISU.
As far as the refs, the appropriate measures werent taken to have refs at the game, from what I understand both teams showed up, but the fellas in stripes didn't.

Gotta say, that's the first time this season that SLU actually did better in a second game of a weekend set. Shaved two goals off from the first game differencial. Still very rough in the nets and no offense.

The SIUE game was a good game. The RMC Goalie stood on his head. Had about 7 or so jaw dropping stops. We really had control most of the game i would say. Played short handed half of the third period and RMC got a goal that hit off my defenseman and in. Then we scored two break away goals. RMC is a whole new team from the past. We played a hockey game instead of a boxing match. Hats off to RMC with a nice classy game.
Don't remember RMC's goalie name, but unbelievable game. It could have easily been 10-2 if it was not for him. Good luck to RMC the rest of the season

Big wins for Mizzou indeed...there was no intent on leaving out Mizzou, however, Minnesota, St. Thomas, and St. Cloud, RMC-Maroon were all in or around the top 15 in the Central, ahead of Iowa, ISU, SIUE, Mizzou, teams who were close in making the top 10. Kansas also beat former #1 Colorado, which is very big considering KU's inaugural entrance into MACHA.
Kentucky split with Ferris State earlier in the year; both teams are very tough, and Mizzou getting that split isn't an afterthought at all...Was MU vs. U of I a 2 game series? Did Mizzou hand U of I their first 2 defeats of the year?

Illinois State University Redbirds 6
Robert Morris College - Springfield 1
This was the game where Jairon Walk stood on his head. He was outstanding. Without him, it would have easily been a 12 to 1 game. The ISU players voiced their respect for his performance throughout the game. RMC-Springfield lost their top scorer vs. SIUe. Coach Soady is building a respectable organization again. The goonfest at Springfield is over. Now they just need some depth. Their bench was four short and the third line is not ready for MACHA Gold. Keep going Springfield, you are on the right track.

In regards to Msu in the showcase... According to websports the bears had bad injuries to 4 forwards... one from each of their lines so their lines got shaken up. Also, Msu didn't even play their number one goalie at all against vermont. A close game against Davenport (acha d2 national champs), a close game against Sienna (in the top of their conference) and a bad loss to Vermont with a lot of injuries doesn't really tell me anything about the bears not being able to completely take care of MACHA and regionals on the road to nationals.

Just to provide some clarification, I think your reference of "bad" injuries to 4 forwards may be a bit misleading (thankfully). The websports site says that Saitta had sore ribs and a freshman had a hip pointer, neither of those would be considered "bad" injuries. (They lost Trupiano for the year last weekend.)
I think one of things that was exposed for their new coach is that this team continues to love to take bad penalties at inopportune times. Before I would be encouraging this team to go out and hit I be coaching them on how to play disciplined hockey but that's just me.

"there wasnt a bad penalty taken all weekend from what ive heard!" Did you watch or listen to any of game. I only caught about 4 periods total and saw some game changers. Penalties were critical in taking them out of the two games they were in until late. The games are archived, watch them and come back and report on what actually occurred. Stan and Steve commented on a couple of them, especially one taken by their captain.

Are we all prepared to say that MSU just simply isn't a team that will play through to a national tournament. No MACHA team has finished higher then #5 in the nation ever. That would be a SLU team from 98-99. Good luck chasin' the dream.

I agree on the bad penalties by MSU - I don't know when they'll realize tha good teams don't take retaliation penalties. They get even by putting it on the scoreboard when the other team is in the box. I think they may have lost their edge, losing two close ones to topnotch teams and took the 3rd game fro granted, or simply didn't care.
Oh well, on to the next game
