MSU - 6
SLU - 3

Not as close as the score. MSU led 6-1 in the third, they put in their backup goalie who gave up a couple of quick ones.

Ah ha... very interesting. Good to get the MSU back up in for some shots. SLU is not there yet but then again, it looks like neither are the teams that SLU has beaten. Mizzou and SIUE hmmmm what's up with those losses to SLU. The beatings continue for SLU.

MSU JV - 1

Northern Colorado - 9

(Probably the best competition that a MSU JV team has ever faced this weekend. Hopefully things will tighten up a little tonight vs. the University of Colorado and than back against UNC on Sunday.)

Msu absolutely just killed SLU. Maybe things will be different tonight. Like the original post said... only reason it was a 3 goal game is cause the back up goalie came in. From what i have seen on these messages, Msu's back up goaltending has had some playing time but has not shown any signs of being capable to play. I saw something about Msu saying they are about defensive hockey but whats going to happen if MSU's starter gets hurt? No depth here at goaltending.

Maybe if Msu's backups get to their 7th year of acha hockey (like their starter), then maybe they'll be good enough

I've had enough of this. Poepping played half a semester for UMSL in 2003. The team folded and I don't believe the team even got a full semester of games in. He took a break from school and played Jr B in Boston for 2 years before coming to Missouri State in the fall of 2005. He did not play in the fall 2006 semester. Do the math and you will understand he can play this season and next season as well within the guidlines of ACHA eligibilty rules.

I hope now that everyone understands the situation and moves on. There have been many other players who have been in similiar situations. For example a gentleman at SIUE played for extended period of time because he left on a number of trips to visit Iraq to serve our country. Thats the reality of ACHA hockey, and it happens all the time.

MSU JV - 1
University of Colorado - 3

Colorado is the Number 2 ranked ACHA Division II team in the West. Shots were close 39 - 32. MSU sounded like they actually outplayed them in the 3rd period, scoring the only goal. All things considered pretty darn impressive effort by the MSU White team.

Looks like SLU was short of being able to compete with MSU outscored 12-5 on the weekend. What kind of injuries in game two for the Bears? Where were the holes in the Billikens team?

St. Thomas 7 - Iowa 2

St. Thomas pretty much dominated start to finish. Looked like the Hawkeyes desire left for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I think there was something around 5 concussions for MSU and 1 or 2 torn ACLs.

Wasn't that SLU couldn't compete...they just came out slow at the beginning of every period in the first game allowing MSU to score 4, and they didn't show up for the first period in the second game allowing MSU to score 4 quick goals...

Shots in the first game were even and shots in the second game were a little more spread, but other than those lapses by SLU the teams looked pretty much even, with points in the games where one team would dominate the other for a few minutes...

MSU's goalie is just a very good tender...and by very good, I mean outstanding...

Well, 11:09 poster.....you really like to embellish things you either hear or see, don't you?

There was one concussion to Matt Schroeder, and one player with a wrapped left leg in Ryan Armstrong, which may be a sprain.

As to the game being even: SLU could not compete with MSU. By virtue of your statement that SLU did not show up for the games, they could not compete.

MSU used the whole first period of game two and 4 different goal scorers from 19:43 to 6:40 to take a 4-0 lead and not get 4 quick goals as you put it. MSU managed 17 shots in the first and SLU only 9, that's domination of the period.

MSU has the best defense in the league, as statistics show, and as evidenced by the type of low scoring games they play against better competition. (Ok, we'll give you the Lindenwood hick-up.)

I do applaud your efforts to stick up for SLU though.

Above post is an absolute joke and obviously didnt see the game...MSUs goalie was outstanding, no question about it. Basically only goals were from rebounds, which is a defensman's duty to clear.

MSU JV - 8
Northern Colorado - 10

MSU actually led 7 - 4 going in to the 3rd period. Gave up an empty net goal for number 10.

Big improvement over Friday night's game.

Northern Colorado is ranked 9th in the ACHA West Division. So I'd say MSU-JV represented themselves well in playing ranked opponents for the first time in the program's history.

(Sorry for posting this in two threads. First was an accident.)
