Just wanted to thank McKendree University and the Fairview Heights ice rink for hosting this weekend. It was a nice touch for McK to have a physician on staff for the duration of the tournament as well as provide athletic trainers for the weekend. Fortunately (except for one player who suffered a dislocated shoulder) the staff wasn't overworked with inujuries. Great season end!

Tournament was well run from every aspect I observed. I'd add that the officiating was also above average. I only saw two silver games but I have no complaints.
I would also add that the fans behavior was excellent in the games I observed. No trash talking of any kind.
A well deserved thanks!

Hats off to Jantzen Eddington, Brian Neighbors & McKendree University, along with the US Ice Sports staff, for the great work on the tournament this year. Everything went very smoothly, and even when faced with overtimes in the championship games, rink management bent over backwards to accommodate the MACHA's needs. I don't think that Jantzen or Brian left the rink all weekend.
As the MACHA Tournament Director, I offer my apologies to the entire league for the information getting out so late this year. I was sidelined for a while with medical issues and want to thank Greg Killoran and Benjamin Alexander for their help keeping things on track as best they could.
I believe that US Ice Sports Complex served well as a central location for the league and would recommend that we consider them for future MACHA Tournaments.
Congrats to Mizzou and McKendree on your championships, and to all the MACHA teams for another great year of college hockey. I hope to see you at our league meeting on March 7th in Peoria.
Peace to All

Super Job by a first class organization of McKendree University. They were notified about 5 weeks before tournament was to be held at USISC and put on a trmendous weekend.Brian Neighbors did an outstanding job of running tournament along with scorekeeping and other duties. Janson Eddington took care of admissions and other aspects of tournament. With this being a central location and the outstanding tournament they put on the tournament should be held there every year as they deserve it. McKendree not only had training staff and doctor on duty they also had security personnell at every game with 2 uniformed security guards

I agree with all the above and would like to add that there was a young lady there who worked at the rink who was absolutely beautiful and should pursue a career in modeling. I mean this with all due respect;-)

Did anyone notice how much help that the 2 coaches at Mckendree Mr Misiak & Mr Grimm did at the tournament. Absolutely nothing. Mr Neighbors is in his first year as an assistant and due to him and some of the former players they did an outstanding job. The coaches love the headlines but do nothing but sit back and do nothing. Now theu can bask in the glory. I hope someone besides me noticed.

What were the coaches supposed to do? They are coaches and were there to coach and watch their opponents and see their strengths and weaknesses. Obviously they did their part, because once again McKendree won it all. Brian Neighbors is our team manager and did everything he was supposed to do and did it to perfection. The alumni players who helped out, volunteered to do so and that's why they had volunteer badges. Its just funny how after a great tournament, great set-up, very well organized weekend on very short notice, people still come on here and bash McKendree.

OK, to the coach basher, do you feel better now? Have you ever heard of the term organization. Probably not cause it's a pretty big word so let me help you by finding the shortest definition I can so even you might get it.
"an organization is a group of people intentionally organized to accomplish an overall, common goal or set of goals. Business organizations can range in size from two people to tens of thousands"
Now, hopefully that wasn't too long. The McKendree coaches are part of an organization (see above definition and take your time again to read it). The two guys that put the tournament together did a great job with a bunch of volunteers. McKendree has the luxury that most of the coaches don't - a school that really supports the program. That's why the tournament worked so well. It wasn't a coach or coaches trying to do too many things.
One final thought, you must be a pretty shallow person to come on here and rip on two guys who've spent countless hours since August involved with the team.
While you were probably sitting on a couch eating donuts they were at the rink a couple times a week with practices starting at 9:30. That's what all coaches do for their organizations and it's nameless people like you who they're lucky they don't have to deal with. The players are the one's who appreciate all team coaches efforts.
Obviously you don't like the two guys. With an attitude like your's the feeling is probably mutual.

Its funny how parents who help made this weekend work, get on here and bash the coaches for not "Helping" Get a life and don't be so mad that you are not the coach.

90% of "coaching" occurs in practice. Most of the line changing stuff can be handled by the players. This part of the thread is silly. Back to the topic. Incredible job by the folks that ran the tournament!

I'm not sure where the 9:02 poster was going with his comment.I assure you,no McKendree parent put the post up about the coaches,my wife and I included. We volunteered because we wanted to see everyone involved enjoy the games.Jantzen and Neighbs both put in countless hours as did everyone else .As for the coaches,I guess you didn't see Terry sitting taking money, you didn't see the things Bill did,so please keep your negative comments to yourself.Their job is to coach, and they did a very good job, thats right, they won.Everyone I talked to during and after the playoffs liked the way everything was handled. And one more thing,if you post negative comments, step up to the plate and put your name with the post.

Mck Univ is the best kept secret....I have never seen a school so into their students and communities well being.
AWESOME, work by everyone involved. Whoever is writing negatives has never coached or put together an event. It takes alot of work and people to make things happen smoothly.
Good Job everyone.

This forum has been created with the purpose to constructively discuss college club hockey. We encourage you to freely discuss any topic you wish, with the caveat that you keep the discourse within the bounds of good taste. While good natured trash-talking is fun, thought provoking and acceptable, any replies that turn personal, disrespectful and/or disruptive of the intent of this forum will be deleted by the moderators of this forum.
Our intent is to build up and promote college club hockey and its teams. We need to work together and support each other to make this happen. We already have enough critics of club hockey. Let's do our best to keep things amiable on this forum, as not to give them any ammunition.
Best of luck to ALL teams!
