Here's the article. I know it's hard to believe but SLU's not in the top four, lol.
-SOUTHFIELD, MI- Michigan State grabs the top spot in the Central Region above Davenport-Ferris and surprising Lindenwood. In the Northeast Siena sits alone with all 15 first place votes. BC, UNH and Marist grouped not far beind with good showings. The West Region again finds the Colorado Teams at the top University of Colorado followed closely by Colorado State. Eastern Washington and Utah State again are near the leaders with UNLV and Northern Colorado having strong first ballot support.
Southeast Regional Rankings nowlisted find 3 teams sharing firstplace votes with a strong Miami squad followed by high scoring Kentucky and Ohio State all seen as top contenders. UMBC and Florida Gulf Coast hot on their heals and a virtual logjam from 6-15 spots including Temple Virginia Tech Monmouth and Rowan round out the group. Also i the mix is Purdue returning to the ACHA after a brief absense.
Other newcomers to the top 15 list include Maine, Northeastern, and CW post in the NE Region making their first bids to drive up the NE ladder. A strong Illinois State Redbirds team along with Minnesota and Illinois find themselves among a strong Central Region field in hopes of claiming a spot with many perrenial powers such as Grand Valley, Central Michigan. a well balanced field in the West finds Northern Arizona, Arizona State and Texas A&M earning their way in Regional contention at the seasons start in what looks like a solid West Region thru the top 20 teams.

SLU basically has two different teams. One night they will come out work their bags off and put the biscuit in the basket....The next night it's a completely different team...Hard to receive votes when your team is inconsistent, especially when the difference in scores for the two nights are polar opposites...
Look at their games against Iowa...8-4 Slu then 8-3 Iowa...
Same thing happened with ISU....7-3 (I think) ISU, then 5-1 SLU.
Not to mention they got swept by Mo State |

If Regionals started today only 1 MACHA team would be represented. Not a strong showing! |

Iowa hockey is the same way... with so much off ice drama its hard to show up every game focused and ready to play. Their much better then any gives them credit for this year |

I think WSR is struggling to maintain interest in MSU. There's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. Team isn't focused, players leaving, practices unorganized - They've been riding on the coattails of their previous coach who lived in Springfield and now the program is paying the price. NO offense to the existing coach, but you can't have a good team if you can only make the weekend games. This program could turn bad pretty quick if something doesn't change....I'd sure hate to see that, but I don't expect any excellent hockey coaches relocating to Springfield MO to take over the team.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted........................ |

Too bad, a once proud program is now starting to feel the effects of losing a coach who was committed to the program. I hear that even the JV program is not what it should be. |

Getting swept by an RMU team that beat a team 13-4 one day and loses it the next? |

Well, whats that say about the rest of the programs... if MSU is going down then I'd be afraid to see what the others are doing because their program is the best in the league. |

MSU knocks off #4 ranked Lindenwood at home, in overtime, and infront of a near capacity crowd. Tough times in Springfield, MO... | |
