Eastern one of two teams w/ ACHA Policy Infractions

If you look at the rankings for this period on the ACHA website, you will see only two teams in the entire nation that were removed from ranking consideration for ACHA policy violations - Washington and Eastern. Eastern IL isn't even listed on the teams portion of the website. If Eastern hasn't paid there ACHA fees, shouldn't they be kicked out of the MACHA? Palmer couldn't accomodate the ACHA with a valid team and they were dismissed.

I just feel like all MACHA games with Eastern IL should be cancelled (at the opponents discretion) until they pay their dues. They really are making us all look bad.

Plus, doesn't this mean that they aren't even a part of USA Hockey now. I know you pay that through the ACHA? Playing uninsured hockey is quite a risk.

Just my thoughts...

1. They wouldn't just automatically remove the team. They will get a chance to get the problem straightened out.

2. Palmer didn't get kicked out of the league. They had ineligible players and were told they could no longer play those players. Palmer CHOSE to quit the league instead of going without their stronger players and losing most of their games. Totally different situation.

3. If eastern continues to not pay their ACHA dues then I do believe the MACHA needs to make some sort of a decision. That is a good question to be brought up because at what point are they no longer an ACHA team that is not carrying USA hockey coverage. The refs also come in to play here because their coverage may be void as well unless approvals are made ahead of time.

Interesting situation...

We have paid our ACHA dues as well as filled out all USA Hockey insurance forms. We were disqualified from rankings because proper paperwork was not all submitted by October 31st. EIU was not getting ranked anyways so calm down. Were still an ACHA team!

This forum has been created with the purpose to constructively discuss college club hockey. We encourage you to freely discuss any topic you wish, with the caveat that you keep the discourse within the bounds of good taste. While good natured trash-talking is fun, thought provoking and acceptable, any replies that turn personal, disrespectful and/or disruptive of the intent of this forum will be deleted by the moderators of this forum. Our intent is to build up and promote college club hockey and its teams. We need to work together and support each other to make this happen. We already have enough critics of club hockey.
