Can't comment on Silver, but I like your first round picks, but I'll take ISU over MSU with Iowa and ISU in the final. |

That definately is not a player from SIUE gold predicting that.. After their performance this past weekend ( beating mckendree in ot and loosing on saturday) they have to step it up big if they want to roll through playoffs like the above predictions stated. I'm not taking anything away from Mckendree or SIUE, they just dont seam ready to beat Iowa, MSU or ISU.
My predictions
Silver Championship
MSU vs Peoria
Peoria Silver Champs
Gold Championship
Iowa vs ISU
Iowa Gold Champs
Good luck to all the teams this weekend |

Gold - SIUE wins with ISU and Iowa more focused on regionals.
Silver - Loyola has the talent, but needs to play 3 consistent games. |

Siue is successful because 90% of the kids on the realize they are bad, accept the fact, and just work hard to compensate for there poor talent. Not a terrible game plan |

actually thats a fairly accurate statement, nonetheless I cant wait to see those trashbags head back down to hickville, IL with their just as ridiculous parents with nothing more than a valiant effort |

Wow, a lot of love/hate on SIUE. Here's how I see it:
Silver Champs: Peoria over Loyola
Gold Camps: SIUE over ISU
Either way, SIUE has proven they can beat anybody in the Gold division. In fact, Mizzou is the only team they didn't beat (Loss and Tie). They split with ISU and Iowa, and got 3 points from MSU. Other than those teams, they swept everyone else. I'd look for them to have a strong tourny with Coach Thatcher back behind the bench. |

I watched the SIU/McKendree games.SIUE has alot of talent. If you watch the way they play, they play as a team, play their positions and skate hard and fast. The only thing I didn't agree with was SIU's celebration after beating McK in overtime Friday night,a little excessive. But,they had just come from behind to tie it ,force overtime ,and win. You can tell they are a well coached team.Good luck in the playoffs. And Kich, you are doing and outstanding job with the websites, keep it up! |

I don't know why you would have a problem with the SIU Gold players celebration in overtime. It just showed that they were playing their butts off and McK gave them all they could handle. They were excited with the victory like McK was the next day. Good luck to the "Gold" this weekend! |

Tough to pick winners in a Tourny format...a hot goalie is usually the key!
Silver Winner: RMU-Peoria (a long shot because they are so inconsistent, but they have the talent)
Gold Winner: Iowa (they appear to be peaking at the right time...they are playing much better than at the start of the season) |

The Silver playoffs would be amazing had McKendree made it. I got to see both the McKendree vs Peoria games and those teams are almost identical. A playoff rematch would have been something to see! |

I think the RMU-S team will beat Loyola first round. They have won 8 games in a row i beileve, and almost beat SLU. (Lost by one) |

Can we stop talking about teams who did not make the playoffs? The season is not divided into a 1st half and 2nd half. It is consistency throughout. |

This is like listening to the teams that are going to win The Founders Cup in Mid States or be in that final Mississippi Valley Championship game. No one cares if you're the MACHA Champ not unless of course the champion of the league gets an autobid to nationals and I don't think that happpens. |

If no one cared this thread wouldn't be this long. In some way even you care or you wouldn't have contributed. |

A lot of trash talk against an SIUE team that handled SLU this year. That's all I'm saying, read the facts. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: playoff predictionsNo score for this post | February 19 2010, 4:34 PM |
We're talking about the MACHA playoffs, a 3 game (and for some teams a 2 game) tournament that essentially means nothing to any teams season. It is simply a fun way to end it, for most. If one of the teams who didn't do well enough all season to make it to regionals happens to win a couple games in a row, congrats, you can call yourself "champions" if that makes you feel good. If Iowa or ISU wins, all that does is boost confidence going in to regionals. Iowa has now won back to back regular season titles on their way to, more importantly, back to back regional berths. ISU is going to regionals for the first time in a while. Both of these teams surely have more on their minds than a couple of post-ranking period games in Peoria. But you guys go on arguing about SLU vs SIUE, cuz that game is huge...
Good luck to Iowa and ISU, you are the best 2 teams in the league this year and have earned your spots. Represent |

I like your finish, "Represent". Says it all. |

You left out "recognize"
Iowa guy. Seriously it's old. Using your theory hawkeye man, it means nothing until someone advances out of regionals. Cling to your regular season title, embrace it, love it. In the words of slu guy on here...please represent the league at regionals better this year and try not to get. "facejammed". Recognize.

LOL @ the 5:49 post...can't stand the University of Iowa, but at least they have an argument! Clearly your team was "facejammed" all year, can't make regionals for how many years in a row now? Yet still feel the need to rip on the teams in the league that actually WIN. Live your dream |

Point being again, no MACHA teams rolling on to D2 Nationals.
As far as SLU vs. SIUE in the mighty MACHA playoffs this is comedy. At the end of the season in the future why don't they save the money on travel, rent two hours of ice at East Alton, stay in St. Louis and play for the tab after the game for the winning team at Fast Eddies. Sure would make more sense for these two powerhouses of the Mid West.
By the way, final score 9-2 SIUE. Sounds like the goaltending at SLU really held up. Just goes to show, "you can't have a jockey between the pipes". |

Well I was correct about the two teams making it from the silver division. However, I was wrong on the outcome. On the other hand I was totally wrong for the gold division. SIUE Gold congrats on winning the ship and having a complete turn around from last weekend. | |
