The beauty of the MACHA, and the ACHA is... you don't have to be in a league to participate... you can go to Regionals as an "Independant". If the MACHA is so meaningless... get out... go pick the teams you want to play and then you won't have to be bothered with what appears to you to be lackluster competition thats apparently means nothing... because getting to Regionals is the only thing that means anything to you. The rest of us will stick around, play league games, have a blast in the MACHA Tournaments, and hopefully get ranked high enough to make it to Regionals.
As far as post League play is concerned, Regionals and Nationals are always at the top of the agenda for most teams, but not making it there is certainly not what determines a successful season. Iowa made it to Regionals several years ago, and made it a point to stand up at the MACHA League meeting that March and say how much more fun they had a the MACHA Tournament than they did at Regionals. And how meaningful it was for them to win that event. That's not to take anything away from Regional play... but you're probably the guy taking exception to Superbowl analogies when it sounds like the only guy making more of it than what it is ... is you.
Kitch... you're never going to get through to this guy... but you'll probably be able to pick him out of his team ever wins the MACHA Tournament. He'll be the guy standing on the bench with his head down, unhappy, if his team wins the thing, because, lets face it... it doesn't mean anyhting, right?
