No Awards in Silver

There were no awards in silver this season. They key takeaway is this...when people want to get on here and complain about the league and it's board just remember that there were no awards this season due to the teams not getting votes in. Most of the time when there are league issues it is because teams don't report to the league.

that just shows how much the board cares about silver. if they wanted to get it done they could have. beside that they probably would have given the awards out to the siue and isu guys anyways.

For the board to have "gotten it done", they would have needed a better response than 11% of Silver teams sending in their ballots. This falls upon the teams not "getting it done".

10:10 poster...

It's not the board's job to take teams by the hand to get these things done. But thanks for proving my point that people on here want to just blame the board instead of taking responsibility.

It is the boards job do what needs to be done so MACHA as a whole is looked upon as a legitimate league. The leadership should have held the silver teams and there coaches accountable and directed them to get it done. By citing lack of participation however true still sends a terrible message and looks bad for all of MACHA not just the silver teams that should be held accountable.

Your image of what the boards job is and the real job of the board are different. You can tell teams a million times to submit things but if they don't then sometimes you can't do much. You can tell teams at the board meeting that next year if enough votes aren't handed in then there will be no awards once again. There is no set in stone "league law" that there must be awards. If teams wanted them bad enough they would vote on them, if not, too bad.

Poor argument.

As far as the "making this a legitimate league", 9 teams (Iowa State, U-WP, RMU-Black, RMU-White, Dordt, Nebraska, Illinois, Eastern, Lewis)in the last 2 years wanted to join, and were accepted into MACHA. If this league were anything less than legit, do you think they'd want to join?

The competition committee sent out emails to every team in the league, the ballot was available online on the website, in addition to multiple reminders. The onus is solely on the teams to get it done.

What would be the barriers to adding a 3rd division to the MACHA? It seems that the MACHA is pretty crowded. I realize though that it is a good problem to have compared to team wanting to leave but just for thought, it could look something like the following.

Gold

Mizzou
ISU
SIUE
Iowa
Missouri State
NIU
SLU
Loyola
Kansas
Eastern
Illinois

Silver

Mckendree
Missouri State
RMU Peoria
Bradley
Iowa
Iowa State
Northwestern
Marquette
Plateville
RMU-White
Nebraska
Purdue
Dordt

This turns the Silver Division into a pretty competitive D3 league in my opinion.

"Bronze" ?

Augie
Western
RMU-Springfield
SIUE D3
RMU Black
Lewis
NIU D3
ISU D3
Kansas
Wheaton

I have no intentions of disrespecting the teams that would be put into the "bronze" division, but I just feel that as a player you want to have a shot at winning something at the end of the year. This gives every team in every division a chance at that. It's tough for teams like SIUE D3, NIU D3 or ISU D3 to put a team in both gold and silver that can win it because the top talent (usually) is going to be up with gold.
