R.J.'s press release statement read via his attorney:

"Mr. & Mrs. Wagner had dinner last night in a restaurant on the Isthmus, after which they retuned to their boat. While Mr. Wagner was in the cabin, Mrs. Wagner apparently went to their stateroom. When Mr. Wagner went to join her, her found that she was not there and that the dinghy (a small inflatable boat) was also gone. Since Mrs. Wagner often took the dinghy out alone, Mr. Wagner was not immediately concerned. However, when she did not return in 10 to 15 minutes, Mr. Wagner took his small cruiser and and went to look for her. When this proved unsuccessful, he immediately contacted the Coast Guard, who then continued the search and made the discovery early this morning."

Did she or didn't she often take the dinghy out alone? Certainly, I you wouldn't think she would take the dinghy out at night alone, even drunk.

R.J. press release statement claimed Natalie often did take the dinghy out alone. I tend to not believe this. Suzanne Finstad, in her book, says that Natalie did NOT often take the dinghy out by herself, I imagine after talking with those that knew Natalie and had been aboard the "Splendour" with her and R.J. He also lied about going to look for her in "his small cruiser," as he never owned such a watercraft. And he didn't use the "Splendour," either to go and search for her. What else? Well, he did NOT begin to look for her ten to fifteen minutes later, as he claims. He took his time because he says to avoid any bad press. He could have had a more sinister reason, too. He also could have been too drunk to make a rational decision. Also, he did not immediately contact the U.S. Coast Guard, either. It was much, much later. And it wasn't even him that made the call to the Coast Guard. R.J. told a sheriff deputy named Bill Kroll that it was about an hour and a half later (about 1:30 a.m.) when the Coast Guard was notified.

So, that's two different times, now, he's claimed when the Coast Guard was called. However, the man that did the actuall calling, a man named Doug Oudin, the Catalina Island harbormaster, made the call to the Coast Guard at 3:30 a.m. -- NOT TEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER AFTER R.J. NOTICED HER MISSING; NOT AT 1:30 A.M., LIKE R.J.'S SECOND CLAIM!!!

WHY DIDN'T THE POLICE OR NOGUCHI QUESTION THE HUGE TIME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WAGNER'S TWO ACCOUNTS AND HARBORMASTER OUDIN'S???

WHY DID THE POLICE APPARENTLY DISCARD THIS MAJOR ANGLE TO THE MYSTERY??? DIDN'T IT MATTER TO THEM WHEN SHE WENT MISSING?

WHY DIDN'T SOMEBODY IN THE CORONER'S OFFICE, OR OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICE HEAR ABOUT THE PRESS RELEASE FULL OF MISTRUTHS????

WHY WERE THEY SO QUICK TO LET R.J. OFF THE HOOK?
