...Suzanne Finstad wasn't just running off at the mouth about the dinghy being rubber and would not have disturbed Natalie's sleep. The truth is that this was not her theory. She was only telling us in her book what boating expert Paul Miller said. She quotes him. So, whomever it was that accused her of being an idiot, is the one who is the real idiot.
Read the book before you say something stupid again!
Source: "Natasha: The Biography of Natalie Wood" by Suzanne Finstad. Page 379.
I disagree with Mr. Miller, by the way, as Natalie's best friend, Peggy Griffin, stated when she was aboard the boat, both she and Natalie would take turns re-tying the dinghy to the Splendour. (Page 378) "Both of us would be half-asleep in the sun, and you'd hear the thing starting (to bang against the body of the Splendour), and I'd be thinking, 'Oh, I hope she does it,' 'Oh, I hope she doesn't ask me to do it,' because you hated doing it. And then finally one of us would do it (re-tie the dinghy to the Splendour)."
So, since Paul Miller had no experience on the Splendour like Griffin did; therefore, she has more credibility than he does in this instance.

After you are done with Finstads book read Lamberts book, you also need to read the Vanity Fair article and Harris's book. After you are done put it all together and you will see that the dinghey scenerio is a bunch of crap.

lambert's book was produced and directed by robert wagner, harris book is a long movie mag article, he interviewed no one, it's a joke. the vanity fair article is a tabloid article by a tabloid writer.

Vlad, you might as well respond. It would be less boring here if you did. Who I am doesn't matter.
Now, which part of the dinghy theory is bogus? I don't read books by homosexual writers (Lambert). I also agree with Maryanne...oops, I mean Anonymous...that Lambert's book has no credibility because it is basically whatever R.J. wanted the book to say.

You should have already known who Dr. Noguchi was, as I used it before.
By the way, I don't think your real name is Vlad. You are the guys who runs this website, though I've forgotten your real name. I have it written down here somewhere. Frank Wilkins, is it? I don't remember. I also think Maryanne is Suzanne Finstad. Why else would she keep all that Natalie Wood shit on file in her home?
(LOL)
Actually, now that we're all exposed, it's kind've cool discussing stuff here. I'll go away again if that imposter shows his ugly head again. You need me to stick around here so it won't get too boring! (LOL)

first of all we are better off if we post anonymously. that way none of the impersonating idiots can play games. by posting anon. we say what we feel, what difference does it make if there is a name attached. the majority of the people here make up names....i have been on this board for 3 years. i stopped using my actual name when an idiot wagner fan began to stalk me.
suzanne finstad? lol...
there are many of these death boards. this is one of the few that still has posters. instead of insulting each other why can't we simply exchange ideas and thoughts. if you think i'm finstad, fine, call me finstad, call me maryanne, fine....what difference does it make what a person's name is?...as long as we respect each other and behave like adults.
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
Maryanne, I've never insulted you. Never had a reason to. We're pretty much in agreement all the time. I just suspect you are Finstad. I mean what kind of fanatic would keep such files on a celebrity unless they plan on stalking them? (LOL) Obviously, it's not possible with a dead celebrity, but if you were a writer, then that would explain your obsession with Natalie Wood.
As for this writer (me), after Natalie Wood, I'll be moving on to Dominique Dunne, Heather O'Rourke, Carl Switzer, Grace Kelly, Carole Lombard, and others. I'm not obsessed with any of 'em. Two chapters ago, in my book I discussed Jackie Coogan, Shirley Temple, Hayley Mills, and other past Hollywood child stars. I've also done Mary Pickford, Doug Fairbanks Sr. and Jr., Lon Chaney Sr.(only), Lillian Gish, Boris Karloff, Margaret Hamilton (the ONLY writer on record to write a mini-biography of her), Laurel & Hardy, Audie Murphy, and many, many more!
It's a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun. Let's hope it's also a lot of profit! (LOL)

p.s. If you are Suzanne Finstad, I love your book!

i love the book too, but i'm not finstad. your book sounds interesting.
yes, i realize that we see things pretty much the same way. the insulting did not come from you, it came from someone else. as a told you, i've been here for a long time, longer than vlad. i have found that the only way to avoid the idiots who impersonate or the wagner lovers who get all bent when he is criticized it to post as anonymous. if vlad does not want to answer, fine...talk to you later.

Boy, have I! I'm still gathering them. But, if you have anything to add, by all means, go ahead.
I have been using that Factiva research tool. I use that via the Houston Public Library's website. I live in Houston, if I hadn't mentioned that before.
Suggestions always welcome from you.
p.s. Guess I have to pay for some of the ones from the L.A. Times before 1985. First, I have to pay a researcher to look 'em up, then I have to pay for a copy of the damn article! I think it costs $40.oo for the researcher. I can't afford forty bucks each time I need an article! I have a real job that only pays $25,000.oo a year.

he goes fishing off a canoe type of boat. the yacht thing was something that he had done since he was a kid. he loved it. when he was a kid he crewed bogart's boat, the santana. in his early 20s he bought his own boat called my lady, the another called my other lady. my other lady was the boat on which he introduced natalie to the ocean. he never owned another boat with any other woman. it became something that was for them. he was a member of the cousteau society. after natalie died he said that the sea did not hold the same fascination for him that it once did...

This jerk does not read books by homosexual writers? Who are you? The King of the homophobes? Better not read Wagners book. He is the biggest closet case of them all.
Enough said.

When Griffen referred to the annoying sound of the rubber dinghy banging against the boat, it was when she and Wood were sunbathing up outside on deck where the sound would not be muffled by the multiple walls of the boat, only the single wall at the stern. When Paul Miller examined the soundproofing of the yacht, he was probably using the main stateroom as the reference point, since that is presumably where Wood took notice of any sound. Between the stern swimstep and the main stateroom there are at least a couple of walls as well as possibly the engineroom of the boat, providing plenty of material to muffle the rubber dinghy's knocking on the boat.
The only way I'd think that the dinghy would create an annoying sound was if it were to be hitting the side of the yacht alongside the main stateroom. But I doubt this, since the dinghy was seen by at least one witness as being at the stern of the boat, against the swimstep.

Then if water magnifies sound, it's quite safe to assume that Marilyn Wayne indeed heard Natalie crying for help, and Wagner falsely stating he would get her. My-my, you only want things to work your way, huh? No dinghy was banging that night.

Liar Peggy Griffin NEVER saw Natalie tie a noisy dinghy from the swimstep. That is a bald-face lie RJ probably asked her to tell. Natalie never touched that swimstep unless it was absolutely necessary to transfer from the boat to another boat, and even that was usually done WITHOUT the swimstep. All lies. All told to make you all believe what isn't true. And, yeah, I was there aboard the Splendour MANY MANY times, so put that in your pipe and smoke it before you accuse me of talking with "such certainty."
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
Yeah, I'm a liar? There was a bathroom plaque in the main head. It was a poem from "a toilet" talking that ended with a line: "and I am glad to take your ****" (how would I know that?) No one here would know that. There was a wine rack in the main saloon, beautiful piece and it was filled with red, whites and pinks. SOmeone might know about that. I got news for ya honey, lots of people come here who knew Nat. Most don't leave messages. We all loved her. RJ lies, and lots of Nat's friends still lie to protect RJ. Not me. I'm telling ya, Nat NEVER went on that swimstep and NEVER touched the Valiant for ANY reason but to travel with someone at the wheel. I could care less if you believe me. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL right back at ya.

Whoever you are, you know exactly what you are talking about. You were on that boat. N one would know these things but someone who was on that boat during the time that Natalie Wood Robert Wagner were married!
They can believe it or not and I don't know about your other postings but that last post with your descriptions was 100% absolutely TRUE!
Who are you that you would know this as I know it too. Strange site to meet up with someone who know this for a fact don't you think?
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
I was on that boat, and sounds like you were too, but they weren't married on the Splendour. They married on Rambling Rose (Bob Rose owned it at another marina from where they kept the Splendour docked). But, that poem had a pic of a toilet on it and said "happy to take your s***" -- The sofa in the main saloon was blue and ivory wide stripes and was situated like a large booth with teak wood backing. If you are the "J" I think you are, we cruised together, dude! Great times, back then. You could actually call it SPLENDOR. What a sad crying shame that beautiful woman died from that boat. I used to really respect RJ, but not since then. Sorry, it's the way I've always felt, and I think we should speak up for Natalie. She really got the raw end of the deal. Yeh, strange place to meet...here.
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
Yes, I am that J. and sure I know they weren't married on the Splendour. You know I know that. He didn't own Splendour yet.
She loved that color blue on the cushions you spoke about. It had a particular name. Not Marina Blue or Ocean Blue but a name similiar. It's been many years and I just can't think of the proper name. Or was it the boat name that was painted that color? Sorry man, I'm trying to remember but I know it was a shadfe of blue that she loved and talked about a lot for the boat.
WOW man! People sure turn up in the "weirdest" places. Way small is the work.
I can't believe the beautiful lady will be gone 28 years come this November. They sure don't make them like her anymore.
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
I can't recall the exact name of the color blue, but somehow peacock blue comes to mind. I'm probably wrong but not just guessing cause she always talked about acertain blue, I remember. It was something like Peacock Blue. If you are the "J" I'm thinking of, why would you come here? I come to see what people say about Nat and RJ. I knew them fairly well. It's sad all that went down and that great boat was donated away to the boys sea club, But, if you are "THE J" aren't you a little too close to RJ for this? Do you still see him? Let me test alittle more of your cruising knowledge: not that I doubt you, this is just cool. There was a Splendour set of cups. Four were one color and 4 were another. These cups had the Splendour name on them. If you ever drank coffee on the boat, you'll know this answer. I'll let you slide if you only drank beer..hehehe.. They hung their 1975 Christmas plaque on what wall in the main saloon? Remember why Nat said she hung it there?
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
Ok, ok, the real test. There was a gun box on board. What was the name written across the top of the gun box? Everyone knew about this gun box. You get this right, we gotta talk.

I'm really J.
Straight up, I never drank coffee on the boat so I don't remember the cups but you and I drank Chivas that was a gift from D. Remember that person? I'm sure you do. How is that? Getting old here man, the brain isn't as sharp as it once was. I told you in another post I remembered the color blue but it was Natalie's personal favorite so I won't say it here. Give me some time on the plaque. I'm sure it will come to me. I told you the name on the gun box too.
I haven't seen RJ in years and I won't be rude because that never does any good but I honestly don't care if I ever see him again.. If you remember, I was never that close with him but Natalie and my former wife were very friendly. I'm not going to get into the last weekend of Natalie's life because I wasn't there but I never really trusted RJ. He always hovered over her like he owned her. She was a fine and beautiful lady who deserved better.
I come here to see what all the talk is because I heard a book is coming out in the Fall and I wanted to see what people are saying.
So far a whole lot of name calling and bogus facts by most. In this business we are used to that.
If you want to talk further, let me know and I'm sure we can find someway to trade e mail addresses without the entire internet getting involved.

sounds good to me....you were definitely on the boat, as was I. Winchester is CORRECT! (The cups were blue and brown.) I haven't seen RJ in decades, and that sure doesn't bother me, and I'm looking forward to this fall, too. I hope there's a lot of Splendour info in the new book. That would be so cool to read about.

You don't believe there are two people sharing stories here but you believe Natalie's death was an accident? I guess some suckers will eat that up with a spoon the size of Wagner's lies.

I know who that fool is. She will probably go running back to the RJlist moderator with her stories. She thinks she is the internet police but she is just a goat herder. LOLOLOLOLOLOL I wonder if those old hags still get into all that hart to hart crap on there and still talk about him like he was 20 and they are 12. LOLLOLOLOLOL

that person thinks they are two people because that is what she or he does. they go from Joanne to Vlad to Heidi to Gordon to Fran to RJWfan-1 to all these other names. Back and forth. I ignore them now and most people do. They all come from the RJlist anyway so its just a bunch of old broads with demented minds who still drool over an old man like Wagner. The worst actor in history. Although he gave a great performance as the widower until a few weeks later when he started shagging that red head he finally married.

Whoever you are who thinks I am one person who is talking to myself, please understand this; I DO NOT, repeat DO NOT care what you think.
You will find out soon enough where the truth lies come this Fall.
Now please be gone before someone comes and drops a boat on you.
To my fellow post friend. I saw your response. Good one, right? Now you remember me. The Chivas gave it away.
I figured out a way to exchange e mails. Are you familiar with the site IMDB? If not, just key in the 4 letters to you search engine. It comes up. Go to the Natalie Wood board. Don't look for screen names with a J. Look for another male name you will recognize within the screen name. It might sound hard but once you see it you will get it right away. We can exchange e mail addresses in the private Personal Message area and we can leave this site to the morons like the fool that jumped in between our posts.
Check it out, the dweeb thinks we are the same person. hahahahaha

I went to IMDB...thanks...now we can talk privately. I'll wait for your answer. I recognized you immediately. Good to meet up again! I don't care what that immature jerk here thinks about us knowing each other: ;let
s move this to a private conversation. I'll wait for your email. LOL...peopley have no clue what it was like at the marina back in the 70's. Guess they think that RJ & Nat were in a private little secluded world that regular people could never penetrate...lol...there were tens of thousands of people at that marina on a daily basis...RJ & Nat were well known at the marina. They probably think Bob Rose (who loaned them his yacht for their 2nd marriage) was an elite star. LOL...remember Bob? Good ole' regular Bob who wouldn't be star struck if one fell out of the sky on top of him? And they question US knowing RJ & Nat. LMAO. We all had a blast back them. We both remember "D" too! He was a cool guy. Never reminded me of a bullsh***er either. Good guy! (yeah...lol, the Chivas gave it away).

Cool I got a bit worried that when you saw the initial D. you would think of the male D. but I was referring to the female D. with her Chivas gift.
Yes, lets take this to the PM on IMDB. You have to PM me first because I don't know what your screen name is.
I'll be checking for your PM.
This is great. Small world right? Good to catch up with someone from the old crowd. Its been way too long.
Bob Rose! dang! a blast from the past and don't forget wild Dorothy at the marina! Now she was a trip! hahahahahahahahaha
Waiting for your PM on IMDB.
